One of the sacred missions carried out by every religion is spreading harmony and peace. However, the facts show us that religious sentiment often creates disharmony among religious adherents and it also often leads to conflict and violence. This problem is caused by, among others, truth claim which sees other religions as false. The truth claim has been in fact one of the main terms promulgated by every religion towards its followers. Using qualitative approach, this article attempts to explain that every single religion in the world possesses its own distinctive doctrine about truth. The doctrine about truth has in fact led to two implications, namely the positive implication and the negative one. The truth claim would result in positive effect when it is viewed prudently and not understood blindly. It means that every religious adherent should realize the existence of “other” truth out of his/her belief. On the contrary, the truth claim would bring about negative impact when it is seen sightlessly and understood through one-sided view. This negative attitude would be an obstacle for every effort to create peaceful relation among interfaith adherents.

This article examines changes in levels of confidence in unions and proposes an intra-national comparison between Quebec and the rest of Canada based on the analysis of the three most recent waves of the World Values Survey (WVS) database, of which Canada is part (i.e. 1990, 2000, 2006). After noting differences in the trends of confidence in unions in these two regions, we applied the same logistic regression model to both regions, based on the 2006 WVS wave, in order to bring out the determinants of the propensity of individuals to express confidence in unions. The results show both similarities and differences between the two regions. As for the similarities between Quebec and the rest of Canada, it should be noted that involvement in politics and the fact of being unionized had a positive effect on the respondents’ propensity to have confidence in unions whereas most of the socio-demographic variables had no significant effects. As for the differences, the fact of reporting a higher income had a significant negative impact in Quebec, but was not significant in the rest of Canada. The fact of supporting the NDP in the rest of Canada had a more structuring effect on the propensity of individuals to have confidence in unions than the fact of supporting the BQ in Quebec. Moreover, the greater the extent to which citizens in Quebec identified with left-leaning ideological positions, the more likely they were to have confidence in unions. Finally, the respondent’s level of education was not significant in the rest of Canada but, cetiris paribus, was highly significant and positively related to confidence in unions in Quebec.

The study reveals peculiarities of perceptions which adolescents from different social groups have about deviant behavior. From the findings obtained in the examination of 80 adolescents using 5 methods, peculiarities were studied of how deviant behavior is viewed. It was revealed that the adolescents from the "normal" group have a more accurate picture of deviant behavior, whereas adolescents who were registered at juvenile affairs departments have an inadequate ideas about it, placing it close to delinquent behavior. External and internal causes were found which have negative impact on adolescents' views. External causes play the key role in the formation of an adolescent's personality and his/her views. Internal causes manifest in indifferent attitude to his/her studies, negative attitude towards the world, lack of trust in adults. In the absence of adolescents' awareness of the authority on the part of adults, obedience isn't a behavioral norm and means mental activity aimed to satisfy their own desires, ambitions and to belong to a group. Due to adolescents' personality specifics such as incomplete personality formation, non-constructive ways of resolving difficult situations, these specifics can be rated among the internal causes of adolescents' views about deviant behavior and of insufficient understanding of the consequences which this behavior leads to.

Around the end of December 2019, a new beta-coronavirus from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China began to spread rapidly. The new virus, called SARS-CoV-2, which could be transmitted through respiratory droplets, had a range of mild to severe symptoms, from simple cold in some cases to death in others. The disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 was named COVID-19 by WHO and has so far killed more people than SARS and MERS. Following the widespread global outbreak of COVID-19, with more than 132758 confirmed cases and 4955 deaths worldwide, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic disease in January 2020. Earlier studies on viral pneumonia epidemics has shown that pregnant women are at greater risk than others. During pregnancy, the pregnant woman is more prone to infectious diseases. Research on both SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV, which are pathologically similar to SARS-CoV-2, has shown that being infected with these viruses during pregnancy increases the risk of maternal death, stillbirth, intrauterine growth retardation and, preterm delivery. With the exponential increase in cases of COVID-19 throughout the world, there is a need to understand the effects of SARS-CoV-2 on the health of pregnant women, through extrapolation of earlier studies that have been conducted on pregnant women infected with SARS-CoV, and MERS-CoV. There is an urgent need to understand the chance of vertical transmission of SARS-CoV-2 from mother to fetus and the possibility of the virus crossing the placental barrier. Additionally, since some viral diseases and antiviral drugs may have a negative impact on the mother and fetus, in which case, pregnant women need special attention for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of COVID-19.

The authors conduct a comparative analysis of the genealogical structure of the breeding stock of the Yaroslavl breed in the Vologda region on the basis of the data for 2005 and 2018. It is established that in 2005 the structure of the breed included 8 domestic genealogical lines. As a result of the crossing with the Holstein breed, significant changes occurred. The share of animals of the Yaroslavl breed lines decreased from 100% in 2005 to 35.3% in 2018. The genealogical structure of the modern population got 3 added lines of the Holstein selection which as of 1.01.2019 include most of the breeding stock: Reflection Sovering line 198998 - 42.9%, Vis Back Ideal line 1013415 - 13%, and Montwick Chieftain line 95679 - 8.8%. The crossing with the Holstein breed had a positive effect on the increase in the milk productivity of the Yaroslavl breed animals. The average milk yield per 1 cow increased by 1670 kg of milk and the share of cows with the productivity of more than 6000 kg of milk increased by 35%. The results of the calculations of the correlation between the Holstein thoroughbredness and the fat and protein content in the milk showed that the crossing did not impair the quality indicators of the milk the Yaroslavl breed cows (thoroughbredness degree with the fat content r=-0.01; with the protein content r=0.09 P<0.01), but at the same time had a negative impact on the duration of the economic use of the animals in the herd (r=-0.27; P<0.001). For further improvement of the breed, there is a need to determine the optimal degree of crossing with the Holstein breed. Also, in order to preserve the gene pool, there is a need to obtain a new generation of purebred bulls of the Yaroslavl breed with a higher productivity potential.
