This article presents characteristics of special rituals, rites and customs identified in Sarmatian cultures of Eastern Europe. For example, a group of prone burials of the Late Sarmatian time was distinguished in the course of the research. As shown by the comparative historical analysis of the prone burials, this society differed from other synchronous groups of the population in the relatively mass nature of such burials. Analysing the details of the burial rite does not provide an unambiguous explanation of the motivation of prone burials. Most likely human sacrifices and ritual killing of the elderly and old people were possible there, and such burials could be associated with harmfulness of the dead. In addition to this rite, a group of burials with the observed post-mortem and antemortem rites in relation to the head / skull was distinguished. First, this is decapitation and performance of certain rites with the head / skull. After this the skull was either placed in the burial or kept with the people (burials of postcranial skeletons). Second, the skull could be placed in a separate grave (partial burials). Third, after separation the skull could be subject to trepanation, which was a ritual function. Intravital trepanation was carried out for medicinal purposes. The rare rite of scalping can be attributed to military customs. Since the frequency of occurrence of special rites in relation to the skull and head in Sarmatian cultures is small, they could be connected either with the antemortem status or with the circumstances surrounding the death of a person. The most common practice was the custom of deliberate deformation of the head, which performed both utilitarian and symbolic functions.

Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia are important causes of cognitive decline in the elderly and senile. This problem is becoming increasingly important in connection with the general aging of the world population and an increase in the number of patients with concomitant pathology, among which arterial hypertension plays an important role. There are a number of studies proving the link between arterial hypertension in middle age and dementia in the elderly. It is hoped that the normalization of blood pressure among middle-aged people will reduce the incidence of cognitive dysfunction. It is also known that maintaining blood pressure at acceptable levels in elderly and old people can improve brain function and reduce the prevalence of dementia, but it is not entirely clear which blood pressure numbers are optimal.

The subject of the research: The effect of dance and movement therapy. The problem of the research: Years are going on and old people meet a problem that their gait changes, their balance becomes worse and the muscle power decreases. People who have cognitive impairment frequently demonstrate disturbed gait which put them into an increased risk to fall down and get injured seriously. Patients who are sick with dementia very often experience symptoms of depression the treatment of which is investigated insufficiently. It is known that dance and movement therapy positively impacts the health of the people with dementia, improves their emotions and mental conditions. Many foreign scientists investigate how dance and movement therapy affects old people’s balance, depression, but the following indexes of people who are sick with dementia are not researched. In Lithuania no pharmacological treatment of dementia is popular. Nowadays in our country there is no research about the effect of dance and movement therapy’s effect on people who are sick with dementia, how it impacts their depression and static and dynamic balance. The hypothesis of the research: Dance and movement therapy can improve static and dynamic balance and reduce depression of the elderly who are sick with dementia The aim of the research was to evaluate the effect of dance and movement therapy on balance and depression of the elderly who are sick with dementia: The goals of the research were: To establish the effect of dance and movement therapy to static and dynamic balance for old people sick with dementia. To establish the effect of dance and movement therapy for depression of old people sick with dementia. Several conclusions were made in on the basis of the results of this study: Dance and movement therapy can help improve static and dynamic balance for the elderly with dementia (p < 0. 05). Dance and movement therapy can help reduce depression of the elderly with dementia (p < 0.05).Keywords: dementia, balance, depression, dance and movement therapy.

Representation of the emotional characteristics of elderly and old person is considered in the article as one of the conditions for the effective interaction of social workers with their clients. The respondents were social workers with various professional backgrounds, who works in the service departments of elderly citizens and people with disabilities. The content of the representations was investigated by using the author’s psychosemantic technique, which was developed on the basis of the Kelly’s Repertory Grid Technique ( n =534). It is shown that professional experience has little effect on the perception of the emotional characteristics of clients in general: the characteristics of an elderly person are not highly rated, negative assessments dominate in the image of an old person. The exception is social workers with experience of 20 years or more, whose estimates of both the elderly and the old person are close to the estimate of an adult.

In Cloud based Big Data applications, Hadoop has been widely adopted for distributed processing large scale data sets. However, the wastage of energy consumption of data centers still constitutes an important axis of research due to overuse of resources and extra overhead costs. As a solution to overcome this challenge, a dynamic scaling of resources in Hadoop YARN Cluster is a practical solution. This paper proposes a dynamic scaling approach in Hadoop YARN (DSHYARN) to add or remove nodes automatically based on workload. It is based on two algorithms (scaling up/down) which are implemented to automate the scaling process in the cluster. This article aims to assure energy efficiency and performance of Hadoop YARN’ clusters. To validate the effectiveness of DSHYARN, a case study with sentiment analysis on tweets about covid-19 vaccine is provided. the goal is to analyze tweets of the people posted on Twitter application. The results showed improvement in CPU utilization, RAM utilization and Job Completion time. In addition, the energy has been reduced of 16% under average workload.

A general observation on the state and condition of the ablution area at some mosques in the country has pictured the place as slippery and unsafe and not properly used and maintained.  This has led to the assumptions that the design of the place had not thoroughly considered the ergonomic factors and right anthropometric of the users which has created discomfort in positioning oneself and accessing the fixtures during the act.  The impact of the problems has never been rationalized and always overlooked particularly on how it may affect the elderly group that is has become very common and being repeated in the provision of the ablution area in other mosque’s design and development.  In consideration of the pressing issues and needs for an appropriate ablution area as part of safety and cleanliness measures at Mosque or Surau, the design of the facility must be emphasized and be based on the needs and physical abilities of the users. This particular study on the ablution area is necessary as it has uncovered salient and common problem of the current design of the place.  The methodology selected for the study was a combination of several methods.  It encompassed onsite observation on the practical use and performance of the ablution area, interview survey on users’ practical experience and design assessment focusing on the ergonomic and anthropometric considerations of the place through measured drawing method.  The results were triangulated to determine the overall performance of the present design of ablution area in facilitating spiritual obligation of the people. For the purpose, three different mosques in Kuala Nerus district namely Masjid UNiSZA (Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin), Masjid UMT (Universiti Malaysia Terengganu) and Masjid Tok Jembal were selected as case studies. The study on the 3 sites of ablution area has displayed results indicating problems generally based on the location and proximity of water faucet and seating provision at the area which apparently were not based on the right ergonomic. This has created discomfort to the users and leaving messy and slippery ground after use.

This paper analyzes the causes and consequences of the increasedtrend of population aging in contemporary society expressed in severalprevious decades. This refers to increasing the share of the populationaged between 60 and 65 years and over (chronological criteriaare defined in the modern age in relation to age in which the workingactivity stops, they can not be applied to African countries), thatis the share of the elderly population of 7 (and more) percent of thetotal population. As a result, we have the increased number of demographicallyold societies. Aging is a biological process, but also a socialconstruct, because at different times and in different societies are differentlyset boundaries of age, attitude towards aging, status of elderlypeople and the like. The most important demographic characteristicsthat cause aging of the population in modern society are: lower fertility, lower mortality (especially the older groups) and migrations.Accelerated aging of the population undermines the economic and socialbalance in the society in which it is expressed (increased pressureon funds of social, health and pension protection) it requires the increasedinvestment effort to deal with this problem and its resolution, but there are consequences for individuals (loss of autonomy , loneliness, illness, etc.). In recent years, the attitude towards old people andthe experience of aging have changed due to an improvement of theoverall quality of life (working and living conditions, progress in thefield of medicine), which gives an opportunity to the people of this ageto lead a full life of different activities (travel, education , acquisitionof new skills and the like.). Although progress was made in terms ofhuman rights, quality of life and the situation of old people in society, there are still various problems that they face (social exclusion, poverty, violence, etc.). In contemporary society have beeb undertakenvarious activities which aim to promote a positive attitude towardsthe old (er) people and to prevent discrimination based on age.

Death is an important reality that the elderly face. In preparation for death, old people engage in reminiscence. However, the presence of addiction in the elderly may influence this process. The current study examined the life of Burt, a sixty-five year old man with substance use disorder, his reflections on death, and the different types of reminiscence he uses. Using a case study, six themes were uncovered. Burt’s reflections on death revealed his awareness of his death, how he plans to spend his dying days, and his idea of a symbolic death by losing his loved ones. Burt engages in reminiscence patterns that are composed of identity recollections, life milestones, and painful experiences. These themes were examined in order to understand how an elderly person with addiction prepares for his own death. Research limitations, recommendations, and implications in clinical practice and human development research are also discussed.

This paper is part of an extension project aimed at renovating the Carlos Romeiro Asylum, located in Conselheiro Lafaiete, Minas Gerais, starting from an initial conception about the current state of the building. For this, it was developed a literature review on the main cause of pathologies that affect the building, infiltration and humidity damage, and others. A case study will be presented, showing the main physical deficiencies of this resting house, to propose interventions based on Material Science and Civil Engineering. Because it is a place where the construction work must be done concomitantly with the circulation of people, this project needs to be divided into stages. It is important to point out that this work may involve both recovery materials and methods, which aim to reestablish the original conditions of the damaged structures, and reinforcement, which aim to adjust the resistant capacity of the structures according to their use. The development and application of this project will bring improvements to the elderly population of the asylum, enabling better health and mobility conditions inside the space where more than sixty old people live.
