Particularly in Creon’s debate with Haemon, and from then on, Sophocles shows distinct aspects of how anger acts on the tyrant’s ability to judge and how this can be related to inextricable familial and political ties. As every modern reading of the play applies a philosophical conceptualization to understand emotions and thus suffer the consequences of a historical gap between interpretative and original vocabularies, this paper argues that the Aristotelian conceptualization of emotions is a relevant philosophical tool to better contextualize Creon’s anger in Sophocles’ Antigone. The essay discusses Creon’s thymetic responses in the face of Haemon’s admonition and Antigone’s oligoria, and offers two examples of Aristotelian readings of Creon’s thymetic akrasia. One of the possible readings considers the specific role of phantasia in Creon’s understanding of reality. This philosophical explanation of a revengeful tyrant reveals important connections between psychology and politics in the government of the city.

Purpose This paper aims to examine the role of electronic governance (e-governance) in enabling asylum seekers’ access to public services in the city of Durban, South Africa. Because of COVID-19, the government scaled down its operations, limiting access to public services, including among migrants. Design/methodology/approach Because of COVID-19-related restrictions, a systematic review was conducted of the relevant academic literature as well as the information portals of relevant government departments, municipalities and research reports on migration and refugees in South Africa. A total of 320 peer-reviewed research articles were identified. These were filtered and 68 relevant articles were selected. Findings The study found that asylum seekers have limited access to public services via information communication technology-enabled mechanisms. Whilst the city government has embraced e-governance, it is still in its nascent stages. Research limitations/implications This study was limited to a desktop one because of COVID-19 restrictions and it focused exclusively on asylum seekers. Therefore, its findings can only be generalised to this category of people. Practical implications Future studies on this subject should gather data from all categories of migrants to gain in-depth perspectives. Social implications All spheres of governance in South Africa should recognise asylum seekers as a constituency that deserves access to public services. E-governance can facilitate easier access to these services, and policies need to be aligned with this reality. Originality/value This study examined the efficacy of e-governance in enabling access to government services by asylum seekers during COVID-19. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, no other study on this subject was conducted during this period.

The problem I am interested in is above all that of the biomedical management of human remains in archaeology, these ancient artifacts “unlike any other”, these “atypical patients”. In the following text, I will examine, with an interdisciplinary perspective (anthropological, philosophical and medical), how it is possible to work on human remains in archaeology, but also how to manage their storage after study. Working in archaeology is already a political problem (in the Greek sense of the word, i.e., it literally involves the city), and one could refer directly to Laurent Olivier’s work on the politics of archaeological excavations during the Third Reich and the spread of Nazi ideology based on excavation products and anthropological studies. But in addition, working on human remains can also pose political problems, and we paid the price in my team when we worked on Robespierre’s death mask (the reconstruction of the face having created a real scandal on the part of the French far left) but also when we worked on Henri IV’s head (its identification having considerably revived the historical clan quarrel between Orléans and Bourbon). Working on human remains is therefore anything but insignificant.

Generally, activities conducted by people generate waste. The waste which increasingly rises causing a big problem. Therefore, the role of community in waste management will strongly support the process of solving the waste problem in the community. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of engagement and active participation of citizens, as reflected in the attitude of citizens in the activities related to the response to the waste problem in the community. A descriptive method was used in this study to describe the involvement and participation in the prevention of waste. The result showed that the paradigm of PSBM (community-based waste management) appeared sporadically and has not yet received the maximum support from regional governments. A paradigm which is “people pay, the government manages“, has grown within the community for years. It would hardly change people’s behaviour patterns in solving the waste problem in the community since changing the city into a city that is clean, comfortable and healthy involved many parties, including the community.

The city of Cairo - since the beginning of the third millennium - has witnessed a constructional expansion of new cities for people of class A to live within gated communities, which provide luxury and safety. This research aims to identify the tangible and intangible needs from the occupants’ and the interior designer’s perspective, due to the diversity of these needs. Abstrak:. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi pemberdayaan pengecer dan penjual tradisional dalam meningkatkan daya saing terhadap pasar modern di wilayah Kota Tegal. Dalam penelitian ini metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Penelitian ini menafsirkan dan menguraikan data yang bersangkutan dengan situasi yang sedang terjadi, sikap serta pandangan yang terjadi di dalam suatu masyarakat, pertentangan antara dua keadaan atau lebih, hubungan antar variable yang timbul, perbedaan antar fakta yang ada serta pengaruhnya terhadap suatu kondisi, dan sebagainya. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengecer dan penjual tradisional di Kota Tegal memiliki banyak kelemahan dalam menghadapi persaingan dengan minimarket modern. Meskipun ada beberapa undang-undang dan peraturan pemerintah tentang perlindungan pengecer / penjual tradisional dalam menghadapi pasar modern, peraturan ini tidak berfungsi secara optimal. Pengecer dan penjual tradisional dalam menghadapi persaingan memiliki strategi agar tetap bisa bertahan. Namun, dalam menerapkan strateginya para pelaku mengalami bermacam-macam kendala dalam mengatasi kendala-kendala yang ada dibutuhkan dukungan dari pemerintah.   Kata kunci: Pengecer, Penjual Tradisional, Daya saing, Pasar modern   Abstract:  The purpose of this study was to determine the strategy of empowering traditional retailers and sellers in enhancing competitiveness of modern markets in the City of Tegal. In this research the research method used is descriptive analysis. This study interprets and describes the data concerned with the situation that is happening, attitudes and views that occur in a society, conflict between two or more conditions, the relationship between variables that arise, differences between existing facts and their influence on a condition, and so on . The results of the study concluded that traditional retailers and sellers in Tegal City had many weaknesses in facing competition with modern minimarkets. Although there are several laws and government regulations regarding the protection of traditional retailers / sellers in dealing with modern markets, these regulations do not function optimally. Traditional retailers and sellers in the face of competition have a strategy to stay afloat. However, in implementing the strategy the actors experienced various obstacles in overcoming the existing obstacles needed support from the government.   Keywords: Retailers, Traditional Sales, Competitiveness, Modern Markets

The current study was conducted on the city of Ramadi to find out the noise pollution represented by the sounds of generators on the residents of the city and its effect on the air purity in Ramadi city، in other words، this study aims to highlight the role of generators and their impact on increasing the level of noise pollution and air purity disturbance in the study area. Where the method of the analytical approach was followed، based on the analysis of the data obtained by the questionnaire forms of the generators owners as well as the residents of the study area. This research was divided into an introduction، a study on noise pollution and its concept and the second section dealt with the analysis and interpretation of the answers to the questionnaire forms that included (33) questions which were answered by the generators owners and the residents of Ramadi. Whereas the third section، where the sound and gas measurement device (SVAN955) (Sound Leved Metr) was used. (8) sites of various uses (commercial - residential - industrial - service) were selected and the levels of sounds were determined and compared with the relative determinants. It was clarified through the study that the city of Ramadi includes (453) generators distributing among the neighborhoods. As a result of the study that was conducted in the city of Ramadi، it was found that there are many complaints from residents of the study area which is considered (80%) of the sample size because most of the generators do not contain a silencer. The study also showed that most of the pollutants resulting from the generators are discharged with the sewage network. The study highlighted that the generator sites are located near residential homes and schools and thus have high noise pollution as well as it is considered uncivilized phenomena being not surrounded by fences، isolators or trees. The study also indicated that most of the generators are not designed for this basis (modulated) with many problems and little cost. The study showed the effect of generators on the monthly income of families، as the study showed that the highest average family income is more than (550،000) dinars per month، and the average family spends more than (55) thousand dinars per month، this amount is not including household generators.

This chapter explores self-policing of urban violence in Harpurhey, Manchester. Arguing that ethical decision-making is practiced regularly in the process of policing the actions and behaviours of others. The author addresses the questions of, what does self-policing in the city actually look like? How does one determine what one ‘ought’ to do in the face of illegal or unethical actions in this part of the city? It concludes by arguing that the act of judgment of the behaviours and actions of others, and the assessment of where, when and whether or not to draw upon the services of the state to fulfill the role of policing, suggest that self-policing is not simply an outcome of neoliberal ideologies of self-management, but is an ethical engagement with the quotidian aspects of everyday life on this Manchester social housing estate.

Executive SummaryAlongside the challenge of maintaining economic competitiveness in the face of great uncertainty, Brexit brings an opportunity for the government to set out a new industrial strategy. The case for doing so rests on the need to address areas of persistent structural weakness in the UK economy, including low productivity. But it is important that any new industrial strategy be based on appropriately granular data reflecting the real structure of the UK corporate sector: the overwhelmingly preponderant role of services as opposed to manufacturing, for example; the importance of young, fast-growing firms as opposed to SMEs; the relatively high failure rate of companies in the UK; and the relative lack of successful mid-sized firms. Such a data-driven approach might spawn an industrial strategy quite different from the piecemeal programmes of recent years.Internationally, the UK is a laggard in this area, and the recently-created Industrial Strategy Council does not look strong enough to change that position. To move forward, the government needs to make industrial strategy a central plank of economic policy, embedded at the heart of the administration with its own staff and funding, and operations based on a comprehensive review of the economic contribution and potential of various types of firm. Needless to say, it cannot be a substitute for a continuing commitment to competition and markets, or a stalking horse for protectionism: interventions should be justified by carefully-argued market failure arguments, be time-limited, and transparently evaluated.

Abstract During the second half of the seventeenth century, there were at least three embassies between the Spaniards of Manila and the Fujian based Zheng regime. The first embassy took place in 1656 ordered by the Spanish governor in Manila. The ambassadors were two captains of the city, and its aim was to re-establish trade relations, which had been severed many months before. In response, Zheng Chenggong sent his cousin to the Philippine islands to settle several business arrangements regarding Fujianese trade. In 1662, Zheng Chenggong took the initiative of sending the Dominican Victorio Riccio, who worked as missionary in the Catholic mission at Xiamen, as emissary to the Governor of the Philippines, don Sabiniano Manrique de Lara. The third embassy took place in 1663. Thereupon, Zheng Jing, Zheng Chenggong’s successor, sent Riccio to Manila for signing a peace pact and for re-establishing trade. The three embassies were related to the Zheng’s purpose of gaining economic and political supremacy over the Philippines and the South China Seas. In all three cases, the actors, the diplomatic correspondence, the material aspects and the results differed profoundly. The article analyzes the role of individuals as intermediaries and translators while considering the social and cultural effects that these embassies had on the Sino-Spanish relations in Manila.

Cilegon is one of the National Activity Centre (PKN) in Banten Province. As PKN, Cilegon generate movement from out of town towards Cilegon, either using AKAP/AKDP buses and urban transportation from the place of origin. Many AKAP/AKDP bus passengers fell in the shadow of the terminal, while the urban transport passengers from the outside get into the city of Cilegon and drop off passengers . The number of outer urban transport operating in Cilegon Cilegon City area adds to congestion in Jalan Sultan and Jalan Ahmad Yani Ageng Tirtayasa , especially at rush hour. Therefor, the Government of Cilegon Municipality then implement the construction of SeruniTerminal, officially put into operation on April 1, 2013. With the expected Seruni terminal buses no longer drop off passengers at the terminal shadow, and urban transport outside the city of Cilegon not get into town. Positivistic approach and methods used in this study is a quantitative method , as well as some analysis used : (1) the analysis of the characteristics of SeruniTerminal, (2) analysis of traffic volume in Seruni Terminal, (3) analysis of urban transport route network in Cilegon, and (4) policy analysis for development of The Seruni Terminal, is expected to answer the research question, namely : " the role of Seruni Terminal in the urban transport system in Cilegon Municipality? "The results obtained from this study is the lack of Seruni Terminal has a role in urban transport systems in Cilegon. To enhance the role, it’s can be done with urban transport route A.01 Cilegon-Anyer and Merak-Cilegon M.01 directed toward Seruni Terminal, and/or the addition of a new trajectory Cilegon-JLS. Therefor, Seruni Terminal is expected to increase the role of the movement in serving urban communities in Cilegon.
