The article presents an analysis of the current state of the local press and the dynamics of the number of mass media authorized between 2009 and 2019 in Orenburg region. It also deals with violation of deontological norms by the regional journalists. The author analyzed cases of violating provisions of the Code of journalists professional ethics in Orenburg newspapers and discovered the worst violations of deontological standards by local journalists. Besides, the study required semantic analysis of the texts carried out using the special software Advego, which helped to calculate indicators of frequency of using particular words. 25 most frequently used words were then selected in each sub-group, which was aimed at finding axiological vocabulary and comparing its number. The inferred data enable the author to make corrections in the results of the research into the regional press carried out previously by a group of scientists from Lomonosovs State University.

The Library and Learning Center at Metropolitan State University is a shared space between the Metropolitan State University Library and a branch of the Saint Paul Public Library system. This chapter reviews the literature on joint use libraries and provides a history of the planning and development of the Library and Learning Center. In detailing the history of both organizations and the current state of collaboration ten years after the building opened, this chapter will describe how the experience at Metropolitan State aligns with that of similar joint use libraries. Furthermore, by highlighting collaborative services and programming, the chapter will be instructive for libraries that wish to form collaborative relationships outside of a joint use model. It will also describe the strengths of the joint use model in meeting the shared goals of community engagement and lifelong learning, while remaining cognizant of the challenges that are inherent in any joint use library initiative.

Nowadays, information technology and the Internet are becoming a driver for a shared consumption economy (sharing economy). The paper aims to analyse the current level of use and prospects for the development of models of the sharing economy in Russia. We identify the effects of sharing consumption for the circular economy and study factors that stimulate the use of peer-to-peer models. One of the study’s tasks was to investigate the involvement of the young generation in the sharing economy, as the most promising part of the population. The study is based on the analysis of open Internet sources on the operation of sharing platforms in Russia and a survey among students at two Russian universities (RUDN University in Moscow and Kuban State University in Krasnodar) to identify the awareness of young people regarding sharing platforms. Analysis of the current state of sharing in Russia showed that the use of most types of sharing is at an initial stage. At the same time, the prospects for economic growth and population development are quite high. The article identifies several effects of digital platforms for sustainable development, the main of which are informed consumption and production. For the further growth of users of the sharing economy, the authors highlight the level of penetration of the Internet and the need for high-quality services on digital platforms. Educational organisations can also become a platform for the development of models of the sharing economy by involving students in sharing processes, as demonstrated by the survey.

In this article the current state of professional ethics in Europe, more specifically with respect to assessment and testing, is discussed. It is shown that, in comparison to other places, the development in Europe of professional ethics for psychologists has a more general character than elsewhere, and that the professional conduct, inasmuch as it concerns assessment and testing, must be viewed in a broader context. The article includes reflections not only on the state of ethics, as laid down in codes of ethics, but also reflections on some critical issues as well as on some empirical findings on the evaluation of unethical conduct.

This article maps out recent developments in the exegetical investigation of Jesus. It starts with a discussion of the Jesus book by Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, in which ‘canonical exegesis’ is used to argue that Johannine Christology is also present in the other gospels and that this Christology actually goes back to Jesus. In this way, the book narrows the gap between the historical Jesus and the Christ of faith. The next section argues for maintaining the multiplicity of images of Jesus as a literary figure that is the fruit of relatively recent approaches: redaction criticism, narrative-semantic analysis and intertextuality. The final section contains a sketch of the current state of research on the historical Jesus and its relevance for Christology. The multiplicity in the literary and historical approaches poses challenges to the further development of Christology.

Abstract This paper presents a clutter suppression methodology for staggered pulse repetition time (PRT) observations. It is shown that spectral moments of precipitation echoes can be accurately estimated even in cases where clutter-to-signal ratios are high by using a parametric time domain method (PTDM). Based on radar signal simulations, the accuracy of the proposed method is evaluated for various observation conditions. The performance of PTDM is demonstrated by the implementation of the staggered PRT at the Colorado State University–University of Chicago–Illinois State Water Survey (CSU–CHILL). Based on this study, it is found that the accuracy of the retrieval is comparable to the current state of the art methods applied to the uniformly sampled observations and that the estimated velocity is unbiased for the complete Nyquist range.

Metaintertextual markers of the mass media interdiscoursein the parliamentary texts of Germany and SwedenThe article deals with the semantic and pragmatic characteristics of metaintertextual markers of mass media interdiscourse in the parliamentary texts of Germany and Sweden. Interdiscoursive citations are accompanied by metaintertext, e.g. the fragments of text that describe intertext. Citations in the parliamentary texts that represent mass media discourse are selected through the semantic analysis of metaintertext. Application of metaintertext to the analysis of pragmatic characteristics of interdiscourse usage is demonstrated. The usage of the metaintertextual markers of mass media interdiscourse in the parliamentary texts of Germany and Sweden is compared.

Though first appeared in 1971, digital book technology has evolved especially since 2000s and it is relatively a new research area. Therefore, to better understand this phenomenon, a quantitative survey research was conducted in 2015 spring term in a state university in Turkey. The objective of the study is to explain current state of digital books within post-graduate students’ perspectives and to identify post-graduate student’s perceptions, attitudes and preferences related to digital books. In this regard, this research presents results of the survey. A total of 135 post-graduate students responded the questionnaire. The data regarding use of digital books in addition to demographics was collected through an online questionnaire and the findings were analyzed through descriptive statistics. In this sense, post-graduate students’ use of digital books, purposes to use, preferred devices, and most used features of digital books were examined. In addition to these questions, reasons not to use digital books and post-graduate students’ future attitude whether to use digital books or not were further investigated. Additionally, research directions for future implications were provided.
