In the article the author makes an attempt to localize the semiotic theory of Yuri Stepanov into the Chinese humanitarian scientific tradition, in which signs are considered as the main tool for the transmission of cultural concepts. Semiotics as an independent field became the subject of study of the Chinese linguists in the late 80ies of the last century, during the beginning of the policy of reform and openness. Chinese researchers in their papers refer to the significant works of outstanding representatives of the Russian semiotic school, namely, the works of M. Bakhtin, R. Jacobson and Y. Lotman. However, in the Chinese linguistics, according to the author, the theory of evolutionary-semiotic series of cultural concepts developed by Yuri Stepanov is insufficiently presented today. It has broad prospects of application to the Chinese semiotic space and interpretation of its cultural signs and codes. The present publication is intended to fill the existing gap in the research paradigm of the analysis of cultural layers in the structure of Chinese concepts

In my study, I list the directions of migration research, all from the point of view of public administration science. The emergence of migration research as an independent field is necessitated by the growth of migration. Researchers are researching the phenomenon of migration from their own field. Public administration uses a multidisciplinary, i.e. methodological approach of several disciplines, all of which is determined by the knowledge and nature of the subject of the given research. In the following, I review and evaluate the methodological directions of the research, which can provide an answer to a segment of the phenomenon of migration. The study gives an insight into research methods for migration research. It is not intended to present specific examples and procedures. At the end of the study, in possible directions, beyond the science of public administration, I list the organizations and faculties that are able to use the methodology of migration research.

James W. Underhill. Voice and Versification in Translating Poems. University of Ottawa Press, 2016. xiii, 333 p. After its very strong stance in the 19th century, the versification part of translation scholarship was gradually declining during the 20th century, substituted by the innovative searches for semasiology, culture and society in text. The studies of structural and cognitive approaches to writing, its postcolonial identity or gender-based essence uncovered a lot of issues of the informational essence of texts, but overshadowed the meaning of their formal structures. The book ‘Voice and Versification in Translating Poems’ welcomes us to the reconsideration of what formal structures in poetry can mean. James William Underhill, a native of Scotland and a graduate of Hull University, got Master’s and PhD degrees from Université de Paris VIII (1994 and 1999 respectively). He has translated from French, German and Czech into English, and now, he is full professor of poetics and translation at the English Department of Rouen University as well as the director of the Rouen Ethnolinguistics Project. His scholarly activities focused on the subject of metaphor, versification, cultural linguistics and translation. He also authored ‘Humboldt, Worldview, and Language’ (Edinburgh University Press, 2009), ‘Creating Worldviews: Ideology, Metaphor and Language’ (Edinburgh University Press, 2011), and ‘Ethnolinguistics and Cultural Concepts: Truth, Love, Hate and War’ (Cambridge University Press, 2012). the belief of the impossibility of translating poems, poems are translated and sometimes translated quite successfully. In contemporary literary criticism, one observes the contradiction that despiteJames W. Underhill investigates this fascinating observable fact by deploying the theory of voice. The first part of the book, ‘Versification’, is more theoretical as the researcher is to summarizes the existing views and introduce fundamental terms and guidelines. The book is strongly influenced by the French theoretician Henri Meschonnic, but other academic traditions of researching verse are also present. This part includes four chapters where the author discusses recent scholarship in the subject-matter (‘Form’), theories of verse structure (‘Comparative Versification’), rhythm and stress systems (‘Meter and Language’), and the issues of patterning and repetition (‘Beyond Metrics’). The author shapes the key principle of his views that ‘[v]oice represents the lyrical subject of the poem, the “I” that creates it, but that is also created in and by the poem’ (p. 44). This stipulation drives him to the analysis of five facets in poetry translation: 1) the voice of a language; 2) the voice of an era; 3) the voice of a literary movement or context of influence; 4) the voice of a poet; 5) the voice of the particular poem. Part 2, ‘Form and Meaning in Poetry Translation’, offers more theorizing on how we can (or should) translate form. The triple typology of main approaches – (translating form blindly; translating a poem with a poem; translating form meaningfully) – sounds like a truism. The generic approach might be more beneficial, as the variety of terms applied in poetry translation and applicable to the idea of the book – (poetic transfusion, adaptation, version, variant) – would widen and deepen the range of questions trying to disclose the magic of transformations while rendering poetry of a source author and culture to the target reader as an individual and a community. The experience of a reader (individual and cultural personality) could be a verifying criterion for translating strategies shaped the translator’s experience. In Part 3, ‘Case Studies’, the author explores the English translations of Charles Baudelaire’s poetry and the French and German translations of Emily Dickinson’s poems. All translations theoreticians and practitioners will agree with the researcher’s statement that “[t]ranslating that simplicity is inevitably arduous” (p. 187). Balancing between slavery-like formalist operations and free transcreations, translators experiment on strategies of how to reproduce the original author’s voice and versification successfully enough. The longing categorically pushes us to the necessity of understanding what is in language but communication, how a nation’s emotionality is built linguistically, and why a language applies certain meters for specific emotional articulation. ‘Glossary’ (p. 297-319), compiled on the basis of theoretical reflections in the main text on the book, is of significant practical value. This could really become a good sample to follow in any academic book. This book takes us closer to the questions ‘How can a form mean something?’ and ‘How can we verify this meaning?’, though further research merged in ethnolingual, ethnopoetic and ethnomusical studies still promises to be extremely rich.

The article considers new aspects in researching the soviet culture transformations. It has been become a point at issue of a seminar-debate on the topic «Soviet existence on the threshold of conformation of totalitarian and authoritarian frameworks» (May, 2020). It was organized on the grant project of Russian Science Foundation № 20-68-46013 «Philosophic-anthropological analysis of soviet existence. Suppositions, dynamics, influence over modernity». The analysis of seminar-debate items, feedback of outstanding researches and students, invited to debate, spots that soviet existence is defined as being a difficult unhomogeneous integrative phenomenon. Its research is important and significant in contemporary and exploratory scope. The content of seminar shows that an essential researching tendency becomes a consideration of the soviet culture in the aspect of mythologization. The soviet reality is noticeable as myths and the soviet way of life is noticeable as mythologemas. In the direction of the declared cultural tradition, mythological figures (primal forefathers, heroes, enemies, rulers) of the soviet culture are indicated and defined. They correspond to realistic historical persons. It is noted the main tendencies of the soviet mythological system creation, founded on traditional cultural concepts, transformed in tune with ideological principles. Consequently, the participants of seminar enunciate straight and suppose implicitly varied contacts between pre-soviet and soviet existence, apparent in a philosophical thought and in an artwork. In this context it is noted next dimensions of the soviet existence problem: beginnings of the soviet existence and its organization, chronotopos of the soviet existence, chemistry between a person and power. An individual aspect in researching the soviet existence becomes the problem of creative person’s presence. This aspect was interesting not only for the participants of the seminar but students invited to debate.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, it has become even more obvious that enterprises that have actively introduced innovations, in particular digital technologies and products, have become successful players in all markets. And tax stimulation has always been the most effective tool for innovation in economic activity.The purpose of this study is to substantiate the role of tax potential in stimulating the effectiveness of innovation in the digital economy. The object of research is the tax potential of the territory. The subject of the research is tax stimulation for the efficiency of innovation in the digital economy. The article presents the advantages and disadvantages of the existing tax system for stimulating innovation in Russia, the tax benefits as the main tool for stimulating innovation in the Russian Federation, the proposals for improving legislation on taxes and fees.

The subject of this paper is Charles Morris? semiotic theory that has as one of its major projects the unification of all sciences of signs. However, since the above project has proven to be unsuccessful, we will try to examine here the reasons that led to this. Accordingly, we will argue that to transcend the particularities of individual disciplines that he wanted to unify, Morris had to make certain ontological assumptions, instead of theoretical and methodological ones, that they could share. However, because the ?sign? as an ontological category could in our view only be established if we follow the principles of the pragmatic philosophical tradition, we will try to show that the reasons for this failure should be primarily sought in different effects that consistent application of the pragmatic principles has in each of them (primarily in linguistics and the philosophy of language). On the other hand, this should enable us to draw several important conclusions regarding Morris? project: namely, that his failure does not have to mean giving up semiotics as a potentially key discipline in approaching some fundamental philosophical problems, but also that it would demand return to the original semiotics developed in Peirce?s works.

Purpose and tasks. The purpose is to actualize the linguistic heritage of S. Karavanskyi as a basis for further prescriptive linguistic research. Among the tasks is the analysis of spelling and lexicographic codification in the works of a linguist. The object of our study is the linguistic heritage of Sviatoslav Karavanskyi, who after more than 30 years of Moscow-Stalin concentration camps and 37 years of American emigration carried, preserved and motivated the specific linguistic norm of the constantly destroyed Ukrainian language and its native speakers. The subject of our research is spelling and lexicographic codification of the first third of the XX-XXI century in the works of S. Karavanskyi. When processing the material, we use the analytical and descriptive method. Conclusions and prospects of the study. Spelling issues in the works of S. Karavanskyi have a substantiated ideological basis, which is to reflect the spelling of specific rather than assimilative (“destructive”) features caused by the occupation and totalitarian regime of the 30-80s of the XX century. Spelling assimilation and the necessity to remove it is to change the phonetic-morphological and syntactic structure of the Ukrainian language, in particular phonetic, morphological, word-formation and syntactic changes. The lexicographic codification of the linguist is evidenced by his two fundamental works: “Practical Dictionary of Synonyms of the Ukrainian Language” and “RussianUkrainian Dictionary of Complex Vocabulary”. The main methodological basis for compiling these dictionaries is the specificity of Ukrainian vocabulary in its resistance to codification in dictionaries of “pseudo-language” imposed on Ukrainians during the ethnocide policy and exposing Soviet lexicography as the main “tool of Ukrainian linguicide”. Among the prospects of our study is a holistic linguistic and political portrait of a linguist and socio-political figure.

The article is devoted to theoretical modeling of the ontology of exhibition activity. The meaningful “frame” for expressing the desired ontology is the methodological presentation of activity. The method of schematization is used as the main tool for the formal expression of content. The methodological basis for theoretical modeling is the activity approach, the genetically constructive approach, the ontologization method and the constant method. In the construction special attention paid to the main variants of the source material of the exhibition activity and its product, as well as to the subject who perceives the exhibition in the conditions of its functioning. The resulting methodological construction can be used in theoretical studies of various aspects related to exhibition activity and in work that directly implies the implementation of the exhibition activity itself.

<p>The philosophy of Islamic Law (uşûl al-fiqh) has been known as occupying the central position</p>in the whole structure of Islamic jurisprudence. Its method and logic of legal extrapolation has dominated not only the legal sphere of the jurists but also influenced the philosophers and the scholastics in their method and way of thinking. Uşûl al-fiqh is mainly deductive in its approach and is concerned with the analysis of linguistics. Now with the developments of new methods in legal and linguistic studies, many scholars have attempted to introduce new way of interpreting Islamic law by bringing up hermeneutics as the main tool. Hermeneutics is about interpreting text by taking into consideration the cultural and personal backgrounds of the author. It also teaches that in reading a text, a reader must be neutral in that he should not have in mind an a priori knowledge and assumption about the subject. This paper is concerned with exploring the dynamics of both uşûl al-fiqh and hermeneutics in the context of developing the Islamic Law in contemporary life.

The subject of the analysis is the category of the inclusion as a process that does not only apply to people with special developmental or life needs, but also to social sciences, which as a result of the positivist research paradigm have divided and separated from each other. Meanwhile, human upbringing requires the inclusion of biophilic orientation towards life in all social sciences, whose achievements should be considered and applied to improve educational processes. The Author borrows inspiration from the typology of human attitudes of Eric Fromm, because it makes readers aware of the negative effects of necrophilia in interpersonal relationships. The Author analyses Fromm’s approach against the background of selected ideas of Polish pedagogical views.

Curriculum which is considered as the main tool education cannot remain the same endlessly. With the expansion of spectrum of knowledge, upgrading of the curriculum is needed with the passage of time. It is nevertheless, the timely updates and restructuring of curriculum can enhance the standard of education. It is therefore, change in curriculum and comparative analysis of the curriculum has been a hot debated topic not only in Pakistan but also all around the world. Current design of the study can be used to analyze the curriculum of mathematics for secondary level of education prescribed by the Punjab Text Book Board. The sole purpose of this comparative study of mathematics is to better analyze the policy objectives of the subject of mathematics curriculum for education at secondary level in Pakistan. Secondly, the study was aiming to analyze curriculum processes while referring to certain objectives, content, methodology and assessment techniques. Thirdly, this research study was aiming to critically review the subject matter of mathematics while highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the subject of mathematics taught at secondary level of education in Pakistan. Fourth, the aim of this research study is to explore the suggestions of curriculum specialists about the salability of the value of mathematics curriculum in education of secondary level in Pakistan. Fifthly, the study used to recommend measures to upgrade the curriculum of mathematics implemented for secondary school education in the country. The population under study comprised of teachers, students, opinion of national curriculum professionals and materials provided about the mathematics curriculum from the Curriculum Bureau in Provinces of Pakistan. Suggestions and recommendations are provided in the end of the research study while better concluding the results and findings in the end of the paper.
