To date, digital technologies and their widespread practice have formed the potential for completely new business models. However, most organizations are either in the early stages of the digital transformation process, or do not yet dare to form a digital business model that will provide real benefits from digital technologies. In any case, taking into account the enormous pace of global digitalization, it is extremely important to adapt the best practices of digital transformation to the improvement of the Ukrainian economy as soon as possible. Based on this, consider the process of researching new and adapting existing management models. Digital transformation – the introduction of modern technologies to radically change the business models of enterprise management today is considered the most important topic for organizations around the world. The requirements of the new digital economy represent the digital transformation as a conscious strategic process of business modification through adaptive management and implementation of digital technologies, ie the restructuring of existing business models. The same happens at industrial and agro-industrial enterprises, the analog period of which is coming to an end. Industries are entering the digital age, thanks to which enterprises are developing in accordance with the new focus. For this reason, it is very important for the formation of digital models of enterprise management to strategically understand the possibilities of digital technology development in their connection with business processes and business models. The analysis of the main traditional models of effective management of enterprises was carried out and their fundamental differences from the Ukrainian approach to management were revealed, the possibilities of implementation of the principles of existing business models by Ukrainian enterprises were considered. In addition, a roadmap for the transition from a traditional to a digital enterprise was proposed for consideration. The process of modeling the digital management system of the enterprise is revealed. Currently, a prerequisite for the prosperity of the economy of industry and agriculture and, consequently, the economy of Ukraine, is adaptive digital management as a basis for economic security of the enterprise. It was found that the relentless introduction of digital technologies, «copying best practices» can later be in reality as dangerous as the refusal to master new technologies. Therefore, choosing the direction of your own digitization, you must first study everything thoroughly, so as not to miss the moment and not to remain in the ranks of the latter or in the past.

Smart City initiatives across the globe have spurred increasing demand for high-skilled workers. The digital transformation, one of the main building blocks of the Smart City movement, is calling for a workforce prepared to develop novel business processes. Problem-solving, critical and analytical thinking are now the essential skills being looked at by employees. The development of the so-called STEM curriculum, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is being given a lot of attention by educational boards in response to preparing young generations for the Smart City work market. Based on the IMD Smart City Index, PISA, and World Bank reports, we develop a model for assessing the impact of the IT secondary school capacities on Smart-City business developments. The model reveals the relationship between the technological capacity of the secondary-school, and the business activity of a Smart City. Moreover, the study shows the existence of a positive relationship between the IT capacity of secondary schools and the resulting entrepreneurial activity of the city. Our results are of interest to decision-makers and stakeholders responsible for designing educational policies and agents involved in the digital transformation and development of Smart Cities initiatives.

The ever increasing intra- and inter-competition, increased costs, and a lower differentiation margin have led to intense competitive pressures within the domains of wholesaling and retailing. At the same time, the increasing digitization due to technological innovation will radical change the economical and procedural fundamentals. In addition, from an entrepreneurial point of view, it must also be considered that the complexity of decision-relevant framework conditions has increased. Digitalisation is therefore to be seen as an essential driver for optimising business processes and as the basis for a new understanding of products and services. However, it cannot be considered independently of other social trends. The chapter will elaborate the underlying drivers and technological trends empowering the transformation processes within the domain of wholesaling and retailing. Starting from these major drivers we will scrutinize the impact of technological advancements and the opportunities, risks and constraints which are connected with it.

Aim. The presented study aims to analyze practical scientific approaches involving the use of digital technologies concerning the operation of regional supply chains.Tasks. The authors identify the major tendencies and trends associated with digitalization in regional supply chains; assess the impact of the benchmarking of regional supply chains as well as new forms and technologies used for stabilizing the movement of information and commodity flows during the period of quarantine restrictions.Methods. The methodological basis of this study includes the methods of evolutionary institutional theory, systems analysis, theory of industrial and technological balance, and general scientific research methods (analysis, synthesis, graphical methods, induction, deduction).Results. The study substantiates the need to standardize and unify digital systems and platforms for more efficient interaction between the participants of supply chains, including executive authorities. Large industrial and/or commercial organizations can become the driving force in this area due to their ability to invest in next-generation information and communication systems as well as to participate in the activities of industrial unions and associations that have lobbying resources that allow them to be included in regional digital entrepreneurship development programs, thus providing access to the digital infrastructure of the region. As part of the implementation of a follow-the-leader strategy, medium and small enterprises that serve as links in the supply chain will increase the level of digital business infrastructure to accelerate and improve interaction with partners. In turn, this will increase the speed, performance, and efficiency of regional supply chains, thereby enhancing their competitive advantages in the Russian market.Conclusions. The presented practical scientific approaches to analyzing modern challenges in relation to the operation of regional supply chains will make it possible to determine major trends associated primarily with the use of digital technologies. Big data analysis will make it possible to segment stock for each commodity item and monitor it in real time. Being prepared for changes will allow enterprises and organizations to enhance their competitive advantages even under unfavorable economic conditions.
