The article analyzes the pottery Plotnikovo burial ground, which belongs to the Rodanovskaya culture. Material culture this time has not been well studied. Finds discovered during the excavations, it was quite diverse. Jewelry, weapon, tools and household items represent it. Some things are similar to the materials of the Russian North, the Volzhskaya Bulgaria and Perm Vychegodskaya. The study was conducted typological and technological analysis of the fragments of 52 vessels. For the site is characterized by proliferation of cup-shaped vessel with a flattened bottom and a loop handle, weak ornamentation dishes with the prevalence of the use of a comb stamp for applying the patterns, the use of clay in the wet state with the addition of crushed shells in the molding composition. A comparison with ceramic complexes chronologically simultaneous sites Vymskaya and Chepetskaya culture revealed both similarities and differences. These differences indicate the presence of its own tradition of producing ceramics in funerary XII-XV centuries of the population, left the Plotnikovo burial ground. The study material of the Plotnikovo burial ground is great interest to address the issues of ethno genesis Permian Komis and clarify the chronology of late stage rodanovskaya culture.

Статья продолжает серию публикаций по результатам технико-технологического анализа керамики памятников раннего железного века Томского Приобья, относящихся к шеломокской культуре и к томскому варианту кулайской культурно-исторической общности. Для анализа были взяты фрагменты керамики из могильника Шеломок I, поселений Кижирово и Самусь II. Результаты анализов показали, как сходство, так и отличия в выборе исходного сырья и подготовки формовочных масс. Например, если для поселения Шеломок II – базового памятника шеломокской культуры, характерна примесь дресвы из гранита с белыми и прозрачными включениями кварца (Плетнёва, Степанова, 2018), то в формовочных массах керамики из могильника добавляли гранит с красными (розовыми) включениями кварца. Памятники эти расположены рядом, на расстоянии 500 м друг от друга, то есть природная среда была одинаковой. Датировка поселения Шеломок II укладывается в пределы V–III вв. до н. э., а могильника Шеломок I – IV–III вв. до н. э., что свидетельствует об их синхронном существовании. Предметы из могильника находят ближайшие аналогии в материалах шеломокской культуры. Сравнение предметного ряда изделий из бронзы, кости и рога свидетельствует о контактах оставившего его населения с тагарцами Ачинско-Мариинской лесостепи, а также, возможно, с населением большереченской культуры, по мнению И. Ж. Рагимхановой и возможно, по мнению Л. М. Плетневой, материалы могильника отражают сложные культурные процессы раннего железного века, происходившие в Томском Приобье и фиксируют приход населения из Ачинско-Мариинского района тагарской культуры.This paper continues a series of publications that report the results oftechnical and technological analysis of ceramics from the Early Iron Age monuments of the Tomsk Ob Region, which are attributed to Shelomok and Tomsk variants of the Kulay cultural and historical community. Fragments of ceramics have been taken for analysis from the Shelomok I burial ground, Kizhirovo and Samus II settlements. The results of analysis demonstrate both similarities and differences in the choice of raw materials and the preparation of molding compounds. For example, the addition of granite gruss with white and transparent quartz inclusions to the pottery paste was typical of Shelomok II settlement (Pletneva, Stepanova, 2018), while the pottery paste from the burial ground included granite with red (pink) quartz inclusions. These monuments are located nearby, at a distance of 500 m away from each other, in the same natural environment. Perhaps, the materials of the burial ground reflect the complex cultural processes of the early Iron Age that took place in the Tomsk Ob region and record the arrival of the population from the Achinsk-Mariinsky district of tagar culture.

Материальная культура позднего средневековья Дигорского ущелья Северной Осетии недостаточно хорошо изучена по сравнению с другими периодами. В статье впервые представлен комплекс археологических памятников, расположенных на Поляне Мацута Дигорского ущелья: памятники, их расположение, история изучения. Цель исследования – рассмотреть Поляну Мацута как погребальный и культовый комплекс, где находятся позднесредневековые полуподземные склепы, каменные ящики, менгиры, цырты, «нартовский» ныхас, поселения кобанского и аланского периодов. Это памятники являются почитаемыми у местного населения, упоминаются в нартовском эпосе. В статье использовались полевые методы исследования, метод анализа и аналогий. В статье представлен авторский материал спасательных раскопок 2020 г. «Грунтового могильника Мацута I, средневековье» XVI-XVIII вв. в зоне реализации проекта «Строительство фельдшерско-акушерского пункта в с. Мацута». Могильник представляет собой погребения в каменных ящиках. Всего было раскопано 75 ящиков, в которых покойные лежали вытянуто на спине головой на запад с широтными отклонениями. Некоторые ранние погребения сопровождаются обрядом кремации. Погребальный обряд находит аналогии в горной Балкарии. Для погребального обряда характерно отсутствие керамической посуды в погребениях. Над ранними погребениями могильника была устроена тризна с кремацией и большим количеством фрагментированной керамики, скорее всего местного производства. Погребальный инвентарь достаточно беден и характерен для горнокавказской культуры позднего средневековья. Во взрослых погребениях найдены одежда, обувь, пояса, головные уборы, пояса; в женских – украшения; в мужских – ножи, оселки. В детских погребениях (в большинстве случаев) слева от головы обнаружены только куриные яйца, либо погребальный инвентарь совсем отсутствует. Отмечается высокая детская смертность. Детские погребения составляют почти 50% от всего числа раскопанных погребений. The material culture of the late middle ages of the Digor gorge in North Ossetia is not well studied in comparison with other periods. The article presents for the first time a complex of archaeological monuments located in The Matsuta Glade of the Digor gorge: monuments, their location, and history of study. The purpose of the study is to consider the Matsuta Glade as a funerary and cult complex, where there are late medieval semi-underground crypts, stone boxes, menhirs, tsyrts, "nartovsky" Nykhas, settlements of the Koban and Alan periods. These monuments are revered by the local population, mentioned in the Nart epic. The article uses field research methods, the method of analysis and analogies. The article presents the author's material of rescue excavations in 2020 of the "Ground burial ground of Matsuta I, middle ages" of the XVI-XVIII centuries in the area of the project "Construction of a paramedic and midwifery station in the village of Matsuta". The burial ground is a burial in stone boxes. In total, 75 boxes were excavated, in which the deceased lay stretched out on their backs with their heads facing West with latitude deviations. Some early burials are accompanied by a cremation ceremony. The funeral rite finds analogies in the mountainous Balkaria. The funeral rite is characterized by the absence of ceramic dishes in the burials. A funeral feast with cremation and a large amount of fragmented pottery, most likely of local production, was built over the early burials of the burial ground. The grave goods are rather poor and typical for mountain Caucasian culture of the late middle ages. In adult burials found clothes, shoes, belts, headwear, belts; women's jewelry; the men's knives, whetstones. In most children's burials, only chicken eggs are found to the left of the head, or there is no burial equipment at all. Children's funerals account for almost 50% of the total number of excavated graves.

The ancient fortified settlement of Amnya I is a unique Early Neolithic site in the northern taiga zone of Western Siberia (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, the Amnya river). It is located on a promontory and has three lines of defense and ten dwelling depressions. The structures of the excavated dwellings are very similar, though the artifact assemblage appears rather heterogeneous. We carried out a technical and technological analysis of ceramics, which showed no correlation between the texture, on the one hand, and the morphology and ornamentation of pots on the other one. Planiographic analysis of ceramics showed that vessels with comb and incising patterns are found in different dwellings, although there are objects in which both groups lie together. Various categories of stone implements (bladelets and polished arrowheads) also appear on different parts of the settlement. Most likely, the observed differences in the artefact complexes of objects are associated with the stages of the functioning of the settlement. The absolute chronology does not yet clarify the sequence of erection and existence of objects. New AMS date is probably vulnerable to a significant reservoir effect. The abundance of unsolved issues of absolute and relative chronology makes the resumption of research on this unique site urgent.

In the process of development, every culture has its absorption, influence and change due to the impact of certain socio-economic conditions. Culture of ethnic minorities in general and traditional culture of Muong people in Hoa Binh province in particular, are also undergoing constant changes under the impact of economic, political and cross-cultural factors. In the context of the dramatic change of the country’s economy, the traditional culture of Muong people in Hoa Binh province also has profound changes on all aspects of life, such as spiritual culture, material culture, social culture... This transformation manifests itself on both positive and negative sides. Therefore, studying and pointing out problems arising in the process of cultural exchange and acculturation will help to give solutions, plans and orientations for the preservation and promotion of traditional culture of Muong ethnic group in Hoa Binh province in the near future.

The modern identity of the Russians of the Yenisei North is inextricably linked with the old-timers culture of Siberians, which has developed in difficult natural and climatic conditions. The Yenisei area is the territory of the primary settlement of Russians in the Yenisei Siberia. For nearly four centuries, the old-timers of this region have developed unique survival skills and created their own cultural and economic type, adapted to the conditions of the north. Traditions rooted in the Russian North have spread throughout the Yenisei Siberia. They ideally corresponded to the harsh conditions of Eastern Siberia and manifested themselves not only in the methods of farming, the typology of settlements and the types of their development, the architecture of the dwelling, the layout of the estate, some elements of clothing and footwear, but also in the features of the Orthodox culture. Russians adapted to the environment without changing their ethno cultural identity (lifestyle, language, religious beliefs) and, to a large extent, retaining their anthropological type. In the Yenisei area, two types of the old-timer culture of the Kezhmars and peasants of the Yenisei district developed. The first was dominated by the North Russian components, which became archaized due to isolation. However, over the centuries, it also absorbed elements of the local autochthonous culture of the Evenk people, which manifested itself in many features of economic management, material culture. The second, more syncretic, absorbed not only the North Russian components, but also the traditions of other places of origin, for example, the south of Russia, which was especially manifested in the festive culture of the old-timers.

В статье рассматриваются каменные могильники второй половины I - начала II тысячелетия, расположенные к востоку от Псковско-Чудского озера в зоне интенсивных культурных контактов между территориями российского Северо-Запада и Эстонии. Выделяется две группы памятников: на западной окраине Ижорского плато и в Псковско-Изборском регионе. Могильники Ижорского плато, аналогично каменным могильникам Северо-Восточной Эстонии, представляют собой так называемые могильники с оградками (таранды), сооруженные в римское время и использовавшиеся для захоронений в середине - третьей четверти I тысячелетия. Могильники Псковско-Изборского региона датируются эпохой викингов (за исключением могильника Выбуты) и представляют собой отдельное культурное явление. Каменные могильники обеих групп часто топографически связаны с позднейшими курганно-жальничными могильниками, в которых встречены аналогичные каменным могильникам кладки. Stone burials of second half of 1st - the beginning of 2nd millenium, located to the east from Lake Peipsi (Pskov-Chudskoe) in the zone of intensive cultural contacts between territories of the Russian North-West and Estonia are considered. Two groups of monuments are distinguished: on the western outskirts of Izhora Plateau and in Pskov-Izborsk region. Graves of Izhora plateau, similarly to stone burials of NorthEastern Estonia, are so called fenced burials (tarands), built in Roman time and used for burials in middle - third quarter of the 1st millennium. Graves of Pskov-Izborsk region date from the Viking Age (with the exception of Vybuty burial ground) and represent a separate cultural phenomenon. Stone burial grounds of both groups are often topographically connected with later barrow-zhalnik cemeteries, in which fences similar to stone burial grounds are found.

AbstractThe Tanah Karo's natural lanscape has been known such a fertile area with a climate that is perfect for agricultural activities. The ancient Karo people used to live the old way known as the megalith culture or tradition that is always related to ancestral and animism beliefs. When Islam and Christianity started to influx and flourish, the old beiefs gradually vanished. The material culture heritage, however, shows varous influences from the past. The old well-rooted concept and element that used to live in the society has left such a strong legacy to some aspects of the culture material and tradition in the present day, especially the buiding or the symbolic ornament and the traditional building element. The agricultural life in the past can be traced back through the symbols available, which then will become proposed questions in search for answers. This paper appliesmexplorative-descriptive method with inductive reasoning. The ornaments, building materials and elements available are proofs of agricultural activities in the forms of farming. The fertile soil and conducive climate provide a perfect back up to the farming. The traditional buildings for the ancestors' skulls at Tanah Karo settlements are the perfect examples of the ancient megalith.AbstrakAlam lingkungan Tanah Karo sejak dahulu memang merupakan area yang subur dengan iklim yang menunjang kegiatan pertanian. Masyarakat Karo dahulu masih menganut kepercayaan lama yang dikenal di Nusantara sebagai budaya atau tradisi megalitik yang sering dikaitkan dengan kepercayaan yang berkaitan dengan leluhur dan animisme. Seiring dengan masuknya agama Islam dan Kristen, kepercayaan ini berangsur hilang. Namun melalui budaya material yang ditinggalkan masih menunjukkan adanya pengaruh kepercayaan lama. Konsep maupun unsur budaya yang pernah ada dan mengakar pada masyarakatnya, menyebabkan sebagian bentuk budaya material maupun tradisinya masih menampakkan hubungan dengan budaya masa lalunya. Terutama berkaitan dengan bangunan atau simbol-simbol yang tercermin dalam ornamen dan elemen bangunan adatnya. Bagaimana kondisi pertanian masa lalu dilacak melalui simbol-simbol yang ada menjadi permasalahan yang ingin diungkapkan kejelasannya. Penulisan menggunakan metode eksploratif-deskriptif menggunakan alur penalaran induktif. Melalui berbagai ornamen, bahan bangunan serta elemen bangunannya menjadi petunjuk adanya kegiatan pertanian berupa persawahan dan perladangan. Hal ini didukung oleh tanah yang subur serta iklim yang menunjang kegiatan itu. Perkampungan di Tanah Karo juga masih menggambarkan adanya tradisi megalitik di masa lalu, dengan keberadaan bangunan adat sebagai tempat menyimpan tengkorak dan tulang belulang leluhur /geriten.

The results of work in the summer — autumn of 2019 in the territory of these areas are considered. Their basis was rescue excavations on a burial ground Seitovo IV of the XVI–XVIII centuries, the ancestors of the Tara Tatars. The result of the study of 7 graves was to informations on the most ancient stage in the formation of burial traditions of this population in the Middle Irtysh region. One of the areas of work during this period was the search for archaeological heritage sites left by the Tatars in this region. The result was a survey of settlements and cemeteries left in the XVIII–XX century and a number of appeared in the XVII–XVIII centuries and are currently in force. Their survey created the prerequisites for the study of the history and material culture of the Tatars in this period.

The article is devoted to problems of srubnaya-and-alakul contacts in south Ural. it presents results of the technological analysis of ceramic complexfrom barrow cemetery staro-yapparovo-1 in republic of Bashkortostan.data were obtained on the selection and processing of raw materials, the preparation of recipes moulding compounds, the method of construction of bases and walls, ornamentation and heat treatment of vessels. it was noted that the methods of manufacturing of vessels registered in ceramics with anstaro-Japparovo-1 burial ground, were massively common in the developed stage of the existence of the srubnahistorical-culture community. these data can adjust the original idea about the chronological position of the burial site, taken from the results of the study of the burial rite.the analysiswas able toidentifyassrubnayaandalakulpotterytraditions. its evidenceof cultural contacts.it was concluded that the population that left burial mounds of staro-Japparovo-1 was heterogeneous, but related this mainly withsrubna historical and cultural community.in the absence of the moulding compounds of vessels from the burial site of the talc grit(its a reliable indicator of alakul pottery in the transurals), as well as its absence in the composition of grog, lets say that the influence of the alakul tribes in this territory was indirect, through the contact area in the steppe of the Preurals.

Abstract The Early Neolithic is an interesting period for observing the changes that took place in material culture and also in the ideology that influenced the production of personal ornaments. Objects of adornment are useful for understanding how past peoples differentiated themselves on the basis of gender, age, or group affiliation. The Early Neolithic in Italy developed throughout the entire sixth millennium cal. BC, during which the first farming communities settled in the Italian peninsula and islands, with diverse Neolithic groups related to wider-ranging cultural spheres. Early Neolithic ornaments were mainly ring bracelets, manufactured beads and perforated shells or teeth. Through their choice and the raw materials used for their production, individuals and groups emphasized their diverse identities based on shared traditions. Focusing on some of the more significant sites, this article considers similarities and differences in forms and raw materials employed for ornaments by different Early Neolithic groups and how these could have been useful attributes to emphasise identities and in particular the membership of particular social or cultural groups.
