This study examines the impact of the pedagogical use of mobile automatic speech recognition software (ASR) on the acquisition of the French vowel /y/ in production and perception. The participants were 42 beginner French students with no previous training in French phonetics and exposure to speech recognition software. They were divided into three experimental groups: (1) the ASR Group used an ASR application installed on their mobile devices to complete weekly pronunciation activities, with immediate written visual (textual) feedback provided by the software; (2) the Non-ASR Group completed the same weekly pronunciation activities in individual weekly sessions with a teacher, who provided immediate oral feedback using recast and repetitions; finally, (3) the Control Group participated in weekly individual meetings “to practice their conversation skills” with a teacher, who provided no pronunciation feedback. Following a pre-test/post-test design, our findings indicate that the ASR Group outperformed the other groups in French /y/ production, but not in perception.

The addition of subtitles to videos has the potential to benefit students across the globe in a context where online video lectures have become a major channel for learning, particularly because, for many, language poses a barrier to learning. Automated subtitling, created with the use of speech-recognition software, may be a powerful way to make this a scalable and affordable solution. However, in the absence of thorough post-editing by human subtitlers, this mode of subtitling often results in serious errors that arise from problems with speech recognition, accuracy, segmentation and presentation speed. This study therefore aims to investigate the impact of automated subtitling on student learning in a sample of English first- and second-language speakers. Our results show that high error rates and high presentation speeds reduce the potential benefit of subtitles. These findings provide an important foundation for future studies on the use of subtitles in education.

Aim of the Study: To assess the effectiveness of planned teaching on assisting self-care activities of patients with plaster of Paris casts of lower extremities among caregivers. Study Design: The design that will be used in the study is One Group Pretest Posttest research design.  Methodology: A study used a pre-test post-test design with no control group and a pre-experimental design. The impact of planned teaching on assisting self-care activities of patients with plaster of Paris casts of the lower extremities among caregivers will be assessed using the purposive sampling technique. In this study Evaluatory research approach will be used. Selected 100 caregivers of patients with plaster of Paris cast of lower extremities will be assessed primarily for knowledge in assisting self-care activities by structured questionnaires and then planned teaching will be given to the selected sample developed by researcher as intervention. Expected Results: To assess the effectiveness of planned teaching on assisting self-care activities of patients with plaster of Paris casts of lower extremities among caregivers. In this study the planned teaching will be useful in improving the caregivers knowledge in assisting selfcare activities. Conclusion: The conclusion will be drawn from the results and will be published in per review journal.

Background: This research aims to evaluate the impact of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on the occupational stress and the anxiety of nurses. Methods: This was an experimental study with pre-test post-test design with a control group. We included all nurses caring for patients with COVID-19 in governmental hospitals in Tehran during six months of 2020. Beck’s Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Steinmetz Occupational Stress Questionnaire were used for data collection. Results: Box’s test (P=0.225) showed that the covariance-variance matrices were homogeneous. Levine’s test also indicated that the assumption of variance equality was observed. The amounts of ETA square root showed that 66.3% of the anxiety variance and 51.3% of the occupational stress variance could be predicted in the posttest through ACT. Conclusion: The rate of occupational stress and anxiety of the test group significantly decreased compared with the control group after the intervention. Therefore, ACT could decrease the occupational stress and anxiety of nurses and the therapists could use this approach for improving the mental health of nurses.

<p><em>Buerger Allen Exercise</em> mampu meningkatkan pemakaian glukosa oleh otot yang aktif sehingga glukosa dalam darah dapat menurun, dapat membantu mencegah terjadinya penyakit arteri perifer, serta meningkatkan aliran darah ke arteri dan berefek positif pada metabolisme glukosa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai <em>ankle brachial index</em>pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2setelah melakukan <em>Buerger Allen exercise</em>. Jenis penelitian ini adalah <em>quasy-experiment </em>dengan<em> pre-post test design with control group</em><em>.</em> Jumlah sampel 60 penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 dengan <em>purposive sampling</em>, dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol. Responden kelompok perlakuan diberikan intervensi <em>Buerger Allen exercise</em> sebanyak 12 kali  selama 15 hari.Penelitian dilakukan di wilayah Puskesmas Kecamatan Nganjuk.Data hasilpengukuran nilai <em>ankle brachial index</em>berupa ratio dan diuji statistik dengan <em>Paired Samples Test</em>. Didapatkan <em>p value</em> 0.001 untuk kelompok perlakuan (<em>p value</em>&lt; 0.05) yang menunjukkan bahwa adanya perubahan bermakna secara statistik nilai <em>ankle brachial index</em> sesudah melakukan <em>Buerger Allen exercise</em>. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai <em>ankle brachial index</em>pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 meningkat sesudah melakukan <em>Buerger Allen exercise</em>.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Kata kunci :penderita diabetes melitus tipe2, <em>Buerger Allen Exercise, Ankle brachial index</em></strong></p><p> </p>

Latar Belakang: Setiap anak perlu mendapat stimulasi rutin secara tepat dan terus menerus sesuai usia tumbuh kembangnya. Stimulasi, Deteksi dan Intervensi Dini Tumbuh Kembang (SDIDTK) anak ini masih belum mencapai target yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah. Salah satu solusi yang dicanangkan oleh pemerintah yaitu dengan mengintegrasikan SDIDTK dengan fasilitas Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) yaitu Kelompok Bermain dan Taman Kanak-Kanak yang diikuti oleh balita sebelum beranjak ke jenjang pendidikan Sekolah Dasar. Tujuan : untuk mengetahui peningkatan pengetahuan guru PAUD dalam melakukan SDIDTK setelah diberikan pelatihan.Metodologi: metode yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan pre and post test design without control group. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampel tanpa peluang (non probability sampling) dengan jumlah sampel 37 guru PAUD.Hasil: Hasil uji dengan one sampel t-test menunjukan setelah dilakukan pelatihan kepada guru PAUD terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata pengetahuan guru dari 8,945 menjadi 15,75 dengan nilai p = 0,000.Kesimpulan dan saran: Pelatihan aplikasi SDIDTK menggabungkan metode ceramah dan demonstrasi mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan secara efektif. Saran bagi Kepala Sekolah di PAUD adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan guru (pengasuh) tentang pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak menggunakan SDIDTK, sehingga guru dapat memonitor tumbuh kembang anak secara optimal.

Science education in Rwandan schools still faces a number of challenges including the lack or shortage of equipment available for science experiments. This paper describes research conducted to assess the impact of using improvised versus conventional laboratory equipment in experiments. Eighty-five lower secondary school students were assessed using a semi-experimental post-test design on thermal expansion of bodies. Data analysis using a t-test produced a t-Stat of 2.74 over a t-Critical of 1.98 indicating a statistical significance between the two experimental groups in favour of the group using improvised equipment. As a result, it is recommended that improvised equipment be used in those instances in which there is a lack or shortage of conventional equipment since students’ achievement was similar regardless of the type of equipment used.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of assertiveness techniquestraining to improve bullying victims’ self-esteem. This study was a quasi experiment withuntreated control group with pre-test and double post-test design. The data werecollected by using adaptation instrument of Peer Interactions in Primary School (PIPS)Questionnaire, assertiveness scale, and self-esteem scale. The subjects were 18 students in4 th -5 th grade who are indicated as bullying victims and have self-esteem scores categorizedin low to moderate levels (8 students in experimental group and 10 students in controlgroup). The result of the Mann Whitney U test showed that there was no difference inself-esteem scores between the experimental and control group during the pretest (p >0.05). After being treated, the differences in self-esteem scores were significant with Z = -3.113; p = 0.002 (p < 0,01) between the experimental group and control group, in which themean score of self-esteem in the experimental group was higher than the control group

This research aims to find out Is there any significant differences between the impact of traditional teaching method and using Index Card Match in teaching English vocabulary at the First Year Students of SMA HANG TUAH 3 MATARAM and to find out does using Index Card Match have a positive effect on students’ vocabulary knowledge. The sample of this research is 40 students. The kind of this research is experimental research. The students are divided into two groups such as experimental group and control group. Then the research subjects are pre-tested to know their prior vocabulary mastery. After the treatment, the sample is post-tested to know their recent vocabulary mastery as the result of the treatment. The scores in both pre-test and post-test are taken as the main data of the research. The data is analyzed by using t-test.
