Abstract Research over the past twenty years has shown that the attitudes of health care workers and students towards people who are suffering from schizophrenia have become more negative. The aim of our study was to investigate the attitudes of medical and pharmacy students towards patients with schizophrenia and explore the differences in attitudes between study groups and students in different years. Materials and methods: Second- and fifth-year medical and pharmacy students from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Kragujevac were included in an observational, prospective, cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 113 students from the pharmacy and medical schools who were chosen via random sampling. The students completed a two-part questionnaire. Th e first part contained questions about sociodemographic characteristics, whereas the second part was a translated version of the Mental Illness: Clinician’s Attitudes (MICA) v4 scale. Results: There is a statistically significant difference (р<0.05) in the attitudes towards people with schizophrenia between second- and fifth-year medical and pharmacy students (with lower scores in both groups in fifth-year students). Of the total number of students who had lower summed scores on the Likert scale, 51.3% had previously finished medical high school, whereas 28.3% had previously finished regular high school. Conclusion: Our results showed a statistically significant difference in attitudes towards people with schizophrenia between second- and fifth-year students as well as a difference related to previous high school education. This stresses the importance of levels of knowledge about schizophrenia to reducing the stigmatization of patients who suffer from this disorder.

All the data obtained was entered into Microsoft Excel and analyzed using the software StatistiXL version 1.8. Result: Separate kitchen and Onsite solid waste storage containers/receptacles were available in 4(16%) establishments. Provision for heating devices for cooked food was available in 5(20%) establishments. Wash basin present with soap were available in 10 (40%) of the food establishments. Sweeping and washing floor with water and disinfectant was done in 8(32%) food establishments. Male and female food handlers’ have equal percentage of morbidity and this difference was not statistically significant (χ2=0.0329, p=0.84), but anaemia was significantly higher among female food handlers (χ2=6.30, p=0.01). Poor hygienic practices were significantly associated with presence of infectious diseases like ARI, diarrhoea, dysentery and skin infections. (χ2=5.71, p=0.017). Conclusion: Food establishments in the study area were found to have poor sanitation and were not maintained well. The health status and the level of personal hygiene of the food handlers in the eating establishments were found to be unsatisfactory. Malleus was found intact in 37 (71.1%) cases and absent in 7(13.5%). Handle erosion was found in 3(5.8%) cases. Head and handle erosion was found in 5(9.6%) cases. Incus was found intact in only 6 (11.5%) cases and absent in 11 (21.2%) cases. Long and lenticular process was eroded in 35(67.3%) cases. Introduction: Evaluating different fields of clinical education is necessary to improve the medical course. Among these, clinical rounds are an important part of clinical education. Therefore, achieving maximum realization in any clinical field is the goal of every medical training center. Methods: Present descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences by census method on more than 67% of clinical medical professors and 79% of medical students who are on internship. The research instrument included a questionnaire of demographic information and a clinical round, which was prepared based on clinical standards approved by the Ministry of Health. 30 out of 44 clinical professors and 30 out of 38 interns succeeded in completing the questionnaires. The obtained data were analyzed by SPSS-16 software and tests (T-test and ANOVA). Result: The mean scores of clinical rounds of professors were 65± 13.16 and interns were 52.47± 35.19 and in general, the situation in this field was described as higher than the average (42) for both groups. Comparison of the two groups also showed a significant difference (P = 0.00). Thus, the mean scores of clinical round scores in the professors’ group were higher than the average scores of the interns’ group. Conclusion: The current clinical rounds situation in Shahrkord University of Medical Sciences was described as more favorable than average. Therefore, in order to further promote medical education, it is recommended that universities continuously evaluate and monitor the status of various areas of clinical education in order to reach the ideal level as soon as possible.

The higher education system has important responsibilities in the development of economic, social, political, cultural and educational communities. Service quality assessment is one of the key steps in formulating quality improvement plans. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and determine the quality of educational services of Yazd Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences. This cross-sectional study was performed on medical students admitted to internship at Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, Yazd, Iran, in 2019. The sample size was census and simple sampling of all medical students in internet. The items that were incomplete questionnaires were excluded. Anova test was used to analyze the quality of education services on average. The highest mean score in the expected status section was in the guarantee section (0.6 ± 6.4) and the lowest score was in the accountability section (0.9 ± 6.1). In the perceived status section, the highest score belonged to reliability (1.1 ± 3.8) and the lowest score to empathy (1.3± 2.9). Paired t-test results were also significant in all dimensions of quality of educational services between the status perceived and expected status. In all five dimensions, there is a gap in the quality of educational services and it is not desirable in terms of educational services. The scientific level of the professors and their specialized knowledge is of high quality for the students 'education, but the low average in the empathy dimension indicates that more attention should be paid to medical students' opinions and suggestions on educational issues.
