The results of vegetable production in recent years in the world and the Russian Federation are shown. The countries in which there was a significant change in the indicators of vegetable production are listed. The global indicators of the most important types of vegetable crops are given. The shares of the countries – the main leading vegetable producers – in the world gross harvest of vegetable products are allocated. Indicators of the size of the acreage, gross harvest and productivity in administrative districts are analyzed. The leading subjects of the Federation on these indicators are named. The collection of commercial vegetables in General and in the categories of vegetable producers. Given the share of Russia in world production of vegetables according to cultivated area, gross yield and basic types of vegetable production. It is established that the capacity of the domestic market is high and options for increasing production in the vegetable sector are proposed. The most important reasons constraining production of qualitative competitive vegetable production are designated, and also recommendations for their decision are given. The generalized results of longterm experiments allowing to pass to a new level of productivity of production of vegetables are shown. The level of influence of degradation of arable land on productivity and efficiency of vegetable growing is specified. The analysis of differentiation of districts and subjects of the Federation on the per capita consumption of vegetables, based on their own production and interregional exchange of vegetable products, taking into account imports from other countries. Consumption of vegetable production in districts and subjects of the Federation is presented. The shares of imports in the interregional exchange and to the volume of own production of vegetable products are calculated. The volume of imports is shown in real and value terms (in us dollars).

In 1961-2018 in the world as a whole, the gross harvest of potatoes increased from 290.6 million tons to 368.2 million tons, that is, 1.36 times. Over the same period, the production of vegetables and food melons increased from 197.7 million tons to 1,088.8 million tons (5.51 times), and fruits and berries from 199.9 million tons to 867.8 million tons (4.34 times). In a number of states in 1992-2018 the corresponding increase significantly exceeded the average values for the world as a whole, as a result of which their place in the global ranking increased, and the positions of some traditional producers of potatoes and fruits and vegetables decreased. For example, in terms of gross harvest of potatoes in 1992, Russia was in first place, and Poland was in third, while in 2018 they were in 4th and 9th positions, respectively. In terms of vegetable production, Italy and Japan were displaced from 4th and 5th places, which were taken by Turkey and Nigeria. In terms of gross harvests of fruits and berries, Turkey occupied the fifth position in total world production by 2018, although in 1992 it belonged to Italy. Quantitative and qualitative changes inevitably have a significant impact on both the volume of the world market and the parameters of international trade in potatoes, vegetables and melons, fruits and berries. Processes in foreign economic liberalization and economic integration contributed to an increase in the specialization and concentration of production of relevant plants in countries with more favorable natural and climatic conditions, as well as a gradual increase in demand for potatoes, vegetables and melons, fruits and berries from a number of states, including those that used to meet the needs of their population in large volumes at the expense of their own producers. The Russian Federation is one of the significant players in the world potato and fruit and vegetable market. Despite the increase in gross fruit and vegetable production in recent years, Russia’s positions in the global rating dropped from 7th to 10th place in vegetables and melons, from 20th to 31st place in fruits and berries. As for potatoes, there was a decrease in the volume of its production, as a result, Russia dropped from 1st place in 1992 to 4th place in 2018.

The indicators of production of vegetable products (acreage, gross harvest, yield) in the world and Russia as a whole, and by the main types of vegetables. The insufficient volume of commodity vegetable growing in Russia is highlighted. It is shown that the range of vegetable products from the countries of the world and the Russian Federation is limited, which keeps the deficit of nutrition in vitamins. Named regions-beacons vegetable sector in gross yield and yield of vegetable crops. The indicators of the level of plowing in Russia and the need to increase the production of vegetables by increasing yields. The indicators of import and export of vegetables taking into account import and export of vegetables are analyzed. It is shown that to equalize consumption by regions and improve the quality of life, it is necessary to increase production for the transition to the recommended consumption standards, improve the territorial-sectoral division of labor and interregional exchange in the vegetable sector of the crop sector.

The aim of the study is to develop theoretical provisions and practical recommendations for solving the problem of food security in the production and consumption of vegetable products. During the research, the following methods were used: statistical-economic, monographic, economic-mathematical, computational-constructive. The article considers the problem of providing the Russian population with vegetable products, especially during the off-season. The actual consumption of vegetables is 112 kg per capita per year with a rational diet of 140 kg. In the food basket of Russians, imported vegetable products occupy a significant share. Analysis of the state and trends of development of vegetable growing in the open and sheltered ground is given. For 2000-2016, the gross harvest of vegetables increased from 10.8 to 16.3 mln. tons because of higher yields while decreasing the area of vegetable crops. In vegetable production structure, production of sheltered ground occupies 9.6%. The households of the population are the main producers of vegetables. They accounted for 66.5% of the gross harvest of vegetables. The volume of vegetable production and the main directions of its increase are justified. To ensure food security, it is necessary to increase the production of vegetables and food melon crops from 18.1 to 22.5 mln. tons, including vegetables from 16.3 to 20.3 mln. tons, food melon crops – 1.8 to 2.2 mln. tons. The increase in production of vegetable products will be facilitated by improvement of state support for vegetable growing and its increase in size, its concentration in specialized farms, intensification of the industry, the revival of Russian seed production of vegetable crops, construction of modern energy-saving greenhouses and modernization of the old ones, development of agro-industrial integration.

Indian Stainless Steel Development Association (ISSDA) was formed in 1989 with the explicit objective of diversifying and expanding the domestic market of stainless steel. At that time, more than 90% of stainless used in the country was kitchenware but over the last two decades, stainless steel has undergone tremendous changes in perception and its increasingly growing end use application in areas such as architecture building & construction, automotive transport, process and engineering. The world production of stainless steel in 2012 is estimated at 35.4 million tonne. Asia has strongly emerged as both the worlds largest stainless steel producer and user. Among countries, China dominates the world production of stainless steel accounting for almost 45% share. However, India has outpaced global growth rates consistently over last 10 years with its stainless steel melt production in 2012 reaching almost 3 million tonnes to propel the country as 4th largest producer after China, Europe and Japan. The potential growth of stainless steel in India is enormous, considering the fact that the per capita consumption at 1.9kg is still much lower than world average of almost 4.85kg. The per capita consumption of stainless steel has strong co-relation with per capita GDP and India is expected to more than double its per capita income over next 10 years. In addition increased urbanization, high demographic dividends and governments manufacturing policy seeking to enhance the share of manufacturing in GDP to 25% within a decade augurs well for the future growth of the stainless steel in India. This paper focuses on the growth story of Indian Stainless Steel industry and its market sector vis-à-vis world and further explores on the strategy to increase the consumption domestically considering the fact that world is going through recession cycles resulting in excessive capacity especially China posing a major challenge to Indian Stainless industry. Степень технологической и технической зависимости отечественных производителей овощных культур от зарубежных производителей с.-х. техники, а также их техническая оснащенность специализированными машинами объясняется высокими затратами на производство овощей, особенно на уборку, что при общем дефиците ручного труда приводит к сокращению площадей, нарушению технологии выращивания и соответственно снижению урожайности. Цель исследований – определить современное состояние технологического и технического обеспечения производства овощных культур в Российской Федерации. Для достижения поставленной цели использовали методологию системного анализа и синтеза, математической статистики, численные методы решения аналитических зависимостей. Статистические исследования современного состояния технического обеспечения производства овощей в России могут служить основой для построения модели и разработки концептуальных принципов модернизации технологического и технического обеспечения работ в овощеводстве. Определена потребность товаропроизводителей в современных высокотехнологичных комплексах машин для производства овощных культур. Проведенные статистические исследования позволили оценить современное состояние с.-х. машиностроения по выпуску необходимого для товаропроизводителей количества машин. Повышение объемов производства овощной продукции неразрывно коррелирует с уровнем технического обеспечения отрасли овощеводства в целом, что подтверждает уровень локализации с.-х. машиностроения РФ, а также Беларуси и Казахстана, где с.-х. машиностроение представлено широкой номенклатурой предприятий, выпускающих комплексы машин от предпосадочной обработки почвы до послеуборочной обработки товарной продукции. Для возрождения с.-х. машиностроения и развития рынка средств механизации аграрного производства определены основные механизмы обновления парка сельхозтехники – преимущественно привлечением кредитных ресурсов коммерческих банков и лизинговых компаний. Кроме того, интенсивность ведения сельского хозяйства в современных условиях производства невозможна без высокого уровня насыщения машинно-технологических комплексов средствами интеллектуализации. Получать качественную конкурентоспособную продукцию можно только при использовании современных высокопроизводительных машин, обеспечивающих совмещение технологических операций, в конструкциях которых заложены системы автоматизированного управления технологическими процессами, учета почвенного плодородия, обеспечения экологической чистоты агроландшафтов. The degree of technological and technical dependence of domestic producers of vegetable crops on foreign producers of agricultural machinery, as well as their technical equipment with specialized machines, is explained by the high costs of vegetable production, especially for harvesting, which, with a general shortage of manual labor, leads to a reduction in area, disruption of cultivation technology and, accordingly, a decrease in yield. The purpose of the research is to determine the current state of technological and technical support for the production of vegetable crops in the Russian Federation. To achieve this purpose, we used the methodology of system analysis and synthesis, mathematical statistics, numerical methods for solving analytical dependencies. Statistical studies of the current state of technical support for vegetable production in Russia can serve as a basis for building a model and developing conceptual principles for modernizing technological and technical support for work in vegetable growing. The need of commodity producers for modern high-tech complexes of machines for the production of vegetable crops is determined. The conducted statistical studies made it possible to assess the current state of agricultural engineering for the production of the number of machines necessary for commodity producers. The increase in the production of vegetable products is inextricably correlated with the level of technical support for the vegetable growing industry as a whole, which confirms the level of localization of agricultural machinery in the Russian Federation, as well as in Belarus and Kazakhstan, where agricultural machinery is represented by a wide range of enterprises that produce complexes of machines from pre-planting tillage to post-harvest processing of commercial products. For the revival of agricultural machinery and the development of the market of agricultural production mechanization tools, the main mechanisms for updating the agricultural machinery fleet are determined-mainly by attracting credit resources from commercial banks and leasing companies. In addition, the intensity of agriculture in modern production conditions is impossible without a high level of saturation of machine-technological complexes with means of intellectualization. It is possible to obtain high-quality competitive products only with the use of modern high-performance machines that ensure the combination of technological operations, in the designs of which there are systems for automated control of technological processes, accounting for soil fertility, ensuring environmental cleanliness of agricultural landscapes. The largest countries of the world are inevitably involved in various global processes, both natural and socio-economic. These countries have common features and characteristic differences in the state of their territorial resources; the study of these characteristics is of interest for the global prospects of sustainable development. A large territory provides a variety of natural conditions and resources for the country; however, not in all countries it is possible to effectively use them in the economy throughout the all country. An analysis of their territorial resources was carried out for the six largest countries of the world according to the following parameters: area, efficiency, environmental load on the territory of the country, number, density, forecast of population growth or decline for 2050, main agricultural land (arable land, pastures, the provision of the population, degradation and pollution of the soils), forest resources (including security per capita, share in the area of countries), fresh water resources (including per capita provision and availability), greenhouse gas emissions, including per capita, the proportion of mammals endangered, proportion of areas of preserved ecosystems. The data obtained was displayed on the maps; a common legend is built for them in tabular form. A number of other parameters of the state of territorial resources and the environment were also studied. In the process of research, the most important cities of these countries were also studied and diagrams showing their similarities and differences in a number of indicators were constructed: area, population and population density, time of foundation, climatic and landscape parameters, the presence of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, high-rise construction parameters. The developed methodology is effective for assessing a variety of data on territorial resources that can be used to build models of sustainable development of the largest countries and regions of the Earth.

Kazakhstan, which occupies the 9th place in the world and the 3rd place in the territory per capita, has great potential for the development of agriculture. There are 15 ha of land per inhabitant, including 1.3 ha of arable land. In recent years, gross agricultural output has exceeded 4.0 trillion tenge. The purpose of this study is to present the current state of agricultural activity in Kazakhstan and to search for effective ways to improve the quality and profitability of products manufactured by agricultural cooperatives. Improving the competitiveness of agricultural production in Kazakhstan can be achieved in several ways. As a result of the study, we presented the following methods: preserving resources, developing infrastructure, improving quality and expanding the range of products, improving sales quality and promoting products in the domestic and foreign markets, as well as introducing innovative technologies, as an extension of cooperation and integration.

The world’s richest 1% are set to have per capita consumption emissions in 2030 that are still 30 times higher than the global per capita level compatible with the 1.5⁰C goal of the Paris Agreement, while the footprints of the poorest half of the world population are set to remain several times below that level. By 2030, the richest 1% are on course for an even greater share of total global emissions than when the Paris Agreement was signed. Tackling extreme inequality and targeting the excessive emissions linked to the consumption and investments of the world’s richest people is vital to keeping the 1.5⁰C Paris goal alive.

It is shown that the level of consumption of vegetable products by the population of the Russian Federation is significantly lower than the standards recommended by the Ministry of Health of Russia and the World Health Organization. The dynamics of production, the level of marketability, exports and imports, the ratio of prices for domestic and imported vegetable products have been analyzed. The assessment of consumption of vegetable products by region, by federal district, by group of the population having different income levels is provided. Proposals have been prepared for the development of production and growth of consumption of vegetables by the population of the Russian Federation.

Vegetable growing is one of the most important and, at the same time, the most complex plant growing branches of agriculture in Ukraine. Firstly, this is due to the value and irreplaceability of vegetable products for human nutrition, which determines the spread of vegetable crops in all regions of the country and the allocation of large areas of agricultural land for their cultivation. On the other hand, a feature of the industry is low transportability and high labor intensity of vegetable production, a large set of cultivated vegetable crops and the mechanization of individual production processes of their cultivation, in particular harvesting, is complicated. Therefore, it is very important to expand better than the cultivation of new vegetable crops, the cultivation areas of which are currently relatively small. One of these crops is Brussels sprouts, which is characterized by excellent nutritional and medicinal properties, but whose cultivation areas are insignificant, due to insufficient study of the characteristics of crop cultivation. Brussels sprouts (Brassica oleracea var. Gemmifera) - vegetable crop. Traditionally regarded as a variety of the species Cabbage (Brassica oleracea) of the genus Cabbage (Brassica) of the Cabbage family (Brassicaceae), some modern sources do not consider Brussels sprouts as an independent species, but consider it a group of varieties of the species Brassica oleracea L., with this approach, the correct name of this group considered Brassica oleracea Gemmifera Group.
