<p><em>This research aims to describe Islamic religious value within Javanese traditional idioms. It employs descriptive qualitative method. The data in this study was collected using note-taking technique. To find the Islamic religious value within Javanese traditional idioms, the researcher used hermeneutics-content-analysis technique. The findings were (1) the belief of Gusti’s (God) existence, (2) the compliance to Gusti (God), (3) the plea for Gusti’s (God) power, and (4) the gratitude for Gusti’s (God) mercies and benevolences. The Islamic religious values, as part of Javanese local wisdom, should be conserved by the youth. The values should also be used as Javanese life guidance to build well-founded characters and ideal personalities.</em></p><p><br /><em>Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan nilai religi Islam yang terkandung di dalam ungkapan tradisional Jawa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik simak-catat. Untuk menemukan nilai religi Islam yang terdapat dalam ungkapan tradisional Jawa, peneliti menggunakan teknik analisis isi secara hermeneutik. Hasil penelitian mencakup (1) keyakinan terhadap keberadaan Tuhan (Allah), (2) kepasrahan terhadap keagungan Tuhan (Allah), (3) permohonan terhadap kekuasaan Tuhan (Allah), dan (4) syukur atas rahmat dan karunia Tuhan (Allah). Nilai-nilai religi Islam tersebut merupakan sebagian kearifan lokal Jawa yang harus dilestarikan. Nilai-nilai tersebut dijadikan sebagai pedoman hidup masyarakat Jawa agar memiliki karakter yang kuat dan kepribadian yang utuh.</em></p>

AbstractThis study aims to reveal the types of moral existence of the main character Syekh Siti Jenar, the disclosure and description of the moral of Sheikh Siti Jenar, and the moral of Sheikh Siti Jenar with the reality of life in the Laker Babad Tanah Pengging by Saini K.M. The study was conducted form October 2016 to August 2017. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with content analysis technique starting focus of research, data collection, verification of data validity, analyze, interpret, find, verify, and conclude. The results show that this play contains a positive moral existence that can be used as a reference to study literature. The content of the play is closely related to the life of the community so the result of the research is suggested that the play "Syekh Siti Jenar in Babad Tanah Pengging," by Saini K.M. can serve as a medium for teaching individual, social, and moral religious which concerned about the moral issues of the students that occur in the process of literary learning.Keywords: The play, Main Figures, and existence of Moral

This research aims to know the intrinsic and extrinsic elements of the panji story contained in the script Panji Kuda Narawangsa which is translated by Moelyono Sastronaryatmo and R. Aj. Indri Nitrani and its implications for literature learning in high school. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with content analysis technique. The focus of this research is the element of the banner story in the script Panji Kuda Narawangsa. The conclusions of this study are: (1) the most dominant theme in this story is the theme of romance, the other themes are the theme of incarnation and war, (2) there are main figures, supporting figures, and supporting figures, (3) setting of place and time dominated the story, (4) extrinsic elements of the panji story are religious values, cultural values, social values, and moral values. Aj. Indri Nitrani dan implikasinya terhadap pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu: (1) tema yang paling dominan dalam cerita Panji ini adalah tema percintaan, tema-tema yang lain adalah tema penjelmaan dan peperangan, (2) terdapat tokoh utama, tokoh pembantu, dan tokoh pendukung, (3) latar tempat dan latar waktu mendominasi cerita ini, (4) unsur ekstrinsik cerita panji berupa nilai agama, nilai budaya, nilai sosial, dan nilai moral. The purpose of this reseach was to explain al-Zahrāwī's contribution to medical science. The method used by researchers was descriptive qualitative method with content analysis technique and research library. As a result of the data analysis, the researchers concluded several important points related to al-Zahrāwī's contribution in medical science namely, 1) al-Zahrāwī was a pioneer in the use of several modified surgical instruments from pre-Islamic civilizations, 2) al-Zahrāwī invented several models of internal organ surgery such as the urinary tract and respiratory cavities, and 3) al-Zahrāwī made an important contribution in the field of medicine (pharmaceutical) in postsurgery procedures.

Perubahan pola pikir akibat globalisasi mempengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan, salah satunya adalah pemaknaan pepatah Jawa yang sedari dulu digunakan sebagai prinsip hidup masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan makna pepatah Jawa yang mencerminkan kehidupan masyarakat modern di Amerika dalam novel Impian Amerika karya Kuntowijoyo. Penelitian ini diharapkan mampu membuktikan bahwa pepatah Jawa tetap relevan dengan perkembangan zaman dan menyadarkan pembaca bahwa karya sastra bukan hanya hasil imajinasi pengarang tetapi juga merepresentasikan kehidupan sehingga mampu meningkatkan apresiasi pembaca terhadap karya sastra. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan antropologi sastra. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca catat. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa novel Impian Amerika karya Kuntowijoyo menggambarkan prinsip hidup masyarakat modern yang diambil dari pepatah Jawa. Prinsip hidup tersebut berhubungan dengan usaha masyarakat dalam menciptakan keselarasan antara individu dan Tuhan serta keselarasan antar individuKata Kunci: pepatah Jawa; masyarakat modern; prinsip hidup; globalisasi[Javanese Proverbs as a Principle of Modern Society’s Life in Kuntowijoyo’s Novel Impian Amerika] Changes of mindset because of the changing era affect so many aspects of life. One of them is the interpretation of Javanese proverb which has always been used as a principle of modern society's life. The purpose of this research is to explain and describe the meaning of Javanese proverb which is the principle of modern society’s life in Kuntowijoyo’s Novel Impian Amerika that reflect modern society’s life in America. This research is expected to be able to prove that Javanese proverbs which are an ancestral heritage still relevant to today’s modern conditions and remind the readers that literary works are not only the result of the author's imagination but can also represent life and other positive values, thereby increasing the reader’s appreciation of literary works. This research is a descriptive qualitative with a literary anthropology approach. Data collection technique was note-taking technique. The data were analyzed with content analysis technique. The results of this research prove that Impian Amerika illustrates the principle of modern society's life taken from the Javanese proverb. The principle of life is related to community efforts in creating harmony between individuals and God and individuals as well.

            (Title: Violence in Toxic Friendship Between Women in Amélie Nothomb's “Antéchrista” Novel). Violence is often identified with masculine expressions inherent in men. However, in reality, it is not gender-exclusive because women are also enabled to do so, including against those closest to them such as friends, as revealed in the novel Antéchrista by Amélie Nothomb, a Belgian francophone writer. This study aims to examine how the theme of violence in the 'toxic friendship' between women is displayed in the novel. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a feminist literary criticism approach. The data were collected from the novel using the note-taking technique and analyzed using the content analysis technique. The data consisting of words, phrases, and sentences in French were then translated by the researchers to be classified, interpreted, and studied. The result of the research shows that the novel Antéchrista presents women as victims who are also perpetrators of violence through oppression against each other, motivated by jealousy and intrasexual competition. The form of violence is in the form of psychological and verbal which is manifested in the form of intimidation, humiliation, and ostracism. Keywords: opression, toxic friendship, resistensi, women, feminist literature criticism

The objective of this study was to describe how Indonesian translator translated the meaning of number, gender, person, tense &amp; aspect, and also voice (NGPTV) which proposed by Mona Baker. Besides that, a descriptive qualitative method and content analysis technique were used in analyzing 20% of data. The main results of the study were: 1). The use of number with SS category was 917 (61%); while PS and PP category were almost had the same value 314 (21%) and 264 (17%); but for SP category was only 22 (1%); 2). The use of Gender notion in GN was 248 (55%), and NG was 207 (45%); 3). The use of person was 2103 (100%); 4). The use of Tense &amp; Aspect category in the form of Past tense, Present tense, and Future tense were different in number, they were 336 (95%), 12 (3%) and 6 (2%); 5). The use of voice in the form of AA was the biggest one in 244 (82%), but for AP and PP were only 45 (15%) and 10 (3%). However, it was found that 0% for PA category. Therefore, it concluded that the translator had been successfully translated the text in the notion of NGPTV.

This study purposes to describe the religious values in Harun Yahya’s fables. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The data source of this research was fable by Harun Yahya such as; Omar and the Penguin, Jamal and the Parrot, and Naeem and the Pretty Peacock. The data in this study could be a phrase, be it a noun phrase or verb, sentences and discourse fragment found in the fable. Data collection and analysis techniques used was content analysis techniques. The results showed that the religious value of character education appeared in the fables gave pieces of advice to the readers about getting closer to God Allah SWT.

Bromance Representation and Masculinity in Novel Untuk Dia Yang Terlambat Gue Temukan Written By Esti Kinasih ABSTRAKBromance merupakan hubungan dekat dan relatif intim di antara dua laki-laki atau lebih, tanpa didasari oleh ketertarikan seksual. Penelitian ini membahas bromance dan maskulinitas yang direpresentasikan di dalam novel bergenre teen lit Untuk Dia yang Terlambat Gue Temukan (2020) karya Esti Kinasih. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif dengan pendekatan gender. Data berupa kata, frasa, dan kalimat dikumpulkan dengan teknik simak catat setelah dilakukan pembacaan tertutup. Data kemudian diklasifikasi, diinterpretasi, dan dikaji dengan teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa relasi bromance dibangun di antara para tokoh laki-laki dengan latar sekolah dan konteks permasalahan remaja. Alasan yang mendasari bromance adalah kesamaan kepentingan dan pemahaman sebagai sesama laki-laki. Manifestasi bromance ditunjukkan melalui sikap mendengarkan, memahami, membantu, dan melindungi. Relasi bromance kuat karena laki-laki bekerja sama untuk tidak tampil sebagai pihak yang lemah dan emosional (terutama) di hadapan perempuan. Perempuan sendiri ditampilkan pasif, lemah, dan patuh menghadapi laki-laki dan persekutuan mereka di dalam bromance.Kata kunci: bromance, Esti Kinasih, maskulinitas, teen litABSTRACTBromance is a close and relatively intimate relationship between two or more men, without being based on sexual attraction. This research is aimed at discussing the bromance and masculinity which is represented in the teen literature genre in novel Untuk Dia yang Terlambat Gue Temukan (2020) written by Esti Kinasih. This research uses descriptive-qualitative method with a gender approach. Data in the form of words, phrases, and sentences were collected using a note-taking technique after a closed reading. The data are then classified, interpreted, and reviewed using content analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that Bromance relationships are built between male figures with school backgrounds and the context of adolescent problems. The reason that underlies bromance is the same interests and understanding as fellow men. Bromance is manifested in an attitude of listening, understanding, helping, and protecting. Bromance relationships are strong because men work together to avoid appearing as weak and emotional (especially) in front of women. Women themselves are shown to be passive, weak, and obedient to men and their fellowship in bromance.Keyword: Bromance,Esti Kinasih, masculinity, teen literature

This research discusses imagery, diction and figure of speech in a short story entitled “Jalan Gelap Langit Terang” written by Abdul Wachid. This short story is one of the author’s works in a short story anthology, Bacalah Cinta, published by BukuLaela in 2005. This research reveals some figure of speeches such as diction, imagery and elaboration employed by the author of the short story. This research applied both stylistic approach and descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was done by close reading observation and note taking. The result shows that the author takes the advantage of connotative, English and Indonesian diction in some sentences. The imagery employed by the author covers personification, hyperbole, metaphor, repetition, rhetoric, elypsis, and antithesis. Moreover, the author tends to show repetition and symblolism in his style.

Abstract: The current study entitled “A Morphological Analysis of Slang Words Used by Characters In Ralph Breaks the Internet Movie” aimed to investigate the morphological processes of constructing slang words and its meaning of the  found slang words used by the movie characters. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with content analysis design. The findings revealed that there are 42 slang words categorized into different morphological processes included compound (14,28%), clipping (11,90%), blending (14,28%), affixations (16,66%), reduplicative (7,14%), backformation (2,4%), abbreviation (2,4%), conversion (4,76%), alternation (14,28%), extension (4,76%) and word manufacture (7,14%). This study demonstrated the meaning changes of the slang words that have been affected through certain morphological processes by modifying their word category. Consequently, some slang terms have preserved the original meaning despite the changes in their spelling. In the meantime, certain slang words get abbreviated or shortened and retained their original meaning. Meanwhile, some slang words change their meaning by deriving their word category. Besides, there were certain slang words that change their meaning depending on word usage.Key words: morphology, Ralph Breaks the Internet, slangAbstrak. Penelitian yang berjudul “Analisis Morfologi Kata-kata Slang yang Digunakan oleh karakter dalam Film ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’” bertujuan untuk menelaah proses morfologi dalam membangun kata-kata slang dan maknanya yang digunakan dalam film tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan desain analisis isi. Data temuan menunjukkan  42 kata slang yang dikategorikan ke dalam proses morfologi yang berbeda, yaitu ‘compound’ (14,28%), ‘clipping’ (11,90%), ‘blending’ (14,28%). , ‘affixations’ (16,66%), ‘reduplicative’ (7,14%), ‘backformation’ (2,4%), ‘abbreviation’ (2,4%), ‘conversion’ (4,76%), ‘alternation’ (14,28%), ‘extension’ (4,76%) dan ‘word manufacture’ (7,14%). Studi ini mendemonstrasikan perubahan makna dari kata-kata slang yang telah dipengaruhi proses morfologi tertentu dengan memodifikasi kategori kata asal. Hasilnya beberapa istilah dalam kata slang tetap mempertahankan makna aslinya meskipun ejaannya berubah. Sementara itu, kata-kata slang tertentu disingkat dan tetap mempertahankan arti aslinya. Beberapa kata slang lainnya berubah makna dengan mengubah kategori katanya.
