Background: Eating Disorders (ED) are complex mental health problems requiring early recognition and treatment. Exercise Professionals (EP) are in close contact with people who suffer from ED and/or Excessive Exercise (EE) and play a role in early intervention and ensuring safe behaviors. We examined the ability of EP to identify eating and exercise issues and to intervene if appropriate. Methods: Participants were recruited via anonymous online survey advertised through industry channels. A chi-square test of independence examined the associations between socio-demographic characteristics and responses to specific questions (significance level alpha=0.05). Results: Of 414 respondents, 80.4% were female, mean age 44.8 years, with 13.3 years’ work experience in the fitness sector. More than half (57.2%) did not receive any ED/EE instruction during training and the vast majority (93.0%) indicated a need of further ED/ EE education. While more than three quarters (76.3%) of respondents had suspected an ED/EE in a client, only 25.1% felt confident to address the client about this matter. Approximately one third (30.7%) of respondents reported having a personal experience of an ED and/or EE. Conclusions: These results highlight a need for better education concerning ED and EE among EP to facilitate early identification and safe industry practice.

Background: The vegetarian diet continues to gain recognition and popularity among people; however, few studies have considered the level of knowledge of professional dietitians about this dietary pattern. Objective: This study aimed to compare the level of knowledge of vegetarian and nonvegetarian Peruvian dietitians regarding vegetarianism at different life stages. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out. An online questionnaire based on the recommendations of the current dietary guidelines was administered to more than 400 registered dietitians. Of which, a total of 179 decided to participate in the study: 72 vegetarians and 107 nonvegetarians. The data were analyzed using the chi-square test, considering a significance level of 5%. Results: Women represented the largest proportion of the sample. The participants demonstrated a complete and exhaustive knowledge of the definition of vegetarian diets. Regarding the risks and benefits associated with vegetarianism, the largest proportion of those who got the correct answers were vegetarians. The percentage of correct answers selected for both groups regarding the critical nutrients were less than 50%. Only 17.6% identified the correct answer regarding the risk of eating disorders of vegetarianism. Conclusions: Dietitians did not demonstrate complete and comprehensive knowledge of the critical nutrients of vegetarianism and lack information on the risks of eating disorders from the vegetarian diet.

Background: COVID-19 has no effective cure, yet early recognition of symptoms and timely seeking of supportive care and preventive practices enhance recovery from the illness and combat the spread of the virus. To reduce the risk of transmission in the community, individuals should be advised to wash hands diligently, practice respiratory hygiene (cover their cough), avoid crowds and close contact with ill individuals (WHO,2019). This study was a cross sectional descriptive study carried out in January, 2021 designed to assess the knowledge, attitude, perception of covid-19 prevention practices among residents in selected local government areas in Lagos State Nigeria. The knowledge obtained from this research should act as a framework for educating the population about the triggers, modes of infection and, most specifically, disease prevention. Methods: The data was collected and analyzed using the statistical package of social (SPSS) version 28. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used. Inferential statistic that was used is Chi-square and was adopted in testing the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. Four hundred and twenty questionnaires (420) were administered, and four hundred were completely and correctly filled. The response rate was 95.2%. Results: The mean age of the respondents was 38.43±16.4years. The ages of the majority 118 (29.5%) of the respondents, fell within the 30 to 39 years age range. Most 251(62.8%) of the respondents were female while less than half 158(39.5%) of the respondents were Muslims. More than half 208(52.0%) of the respondents were married. Few 135(33.8%) of the respondents had tertiary education, with less than half 151(37.8%) of the respondents without formal education. Most 174(43.4%) of the respondents are Artisans. More than half 241(60.3%) of the respondents had fair knowledge about COVID19, with 159(39.8%) of the respondents having good knowledge. Most 279(69.8%) of the respondents had low perception of COVID19 prevention while 121(30.2%) of the respondents had high perception. All 400(100%) of the respondents had negative attitudinal disposition towards COVID19 prevention. Slightly half 262(67.8%) of the respondents had poor prevention practices, while 198(49.5%) of the respondents had good prevention practices. Conclusion: This study provided a comprehensive look at the knowledge, attitude and perception of COVID19 prevention practices among residents of selected local government areas in Lagos Nigeria. The participants had a high level of knowledge about the virus and good practice towards using protective measures, which is significant towards controlling the spread of the virus. But the attitudinal disposition of the respondent’s was negative; this could be because of inadequate information regarding the virus. This study recommends developing informative COVID-19 related campaigns, and providing necessary protective mask and hand sanitizers for the residence of this community. Effective health education campaigns aimed at enhancing attitude of COVID-19 are therefore desperately needed to promote positive mindset and maintain appropriate preventive practices and health campaigns should be more focused on practices such as regular hand-washing with soap and water and social distancing, which protect against transmission of COVID-19 among community members irrespective of their sex.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge and utilization of Bulk-Fill (BF) resin composites among dental practitioners in Saudi Arabia. Materials and Methods: An online survey was distributed through Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp applications among dentists in Saudi Arabia. A 31-item questionnaire covering personal data, general knowledge and utilization of BF composites was used. Responses were collected and analyzed for trends. A knowledge scale was developed based on answers with specific weight for each correct answer provided by the participants. A score of ≥ 50% was considered as a satisfactory knowledge level for participants. Statistical analysis was conducted using One-sample Z- and Chi-square tests followed by Bonferroni correction at 0.05 significance level. Results: The total number of participants of the survey was 183, of which 41.5% had some knowledge and utilized BF composites in their practice. Only 9.84% of the participants score ≥ 50% on the knowledge scale. A significantly low proportion recognized accurately the compositional difference between BF and conventional resin composite as well as the minimum irradiance values needed for proper polymerization of BF. There was no effect for gender or years of experience on the knowledge or utilization of BF materials (p-value = 0.172). Conclusion: The proportions of practitioners with adequate knowledge and utilization of BF materials were very low. Additional focus must be provided in order to expose graduating dentists to advances in resin composite formulations.

Background: Management of myasthenia gravis (MG), a rare immunoglobulin G autoantibody–mediated neuromuscular junction disorder, is driven by physician experience. To gain insight into current practices and physician needs, neurologists’ use of guidelines and disease activity evaluations to manage MG was assessed. Methods: In November and December of 2020, a quantitative, cross-sectional, 51-item, online survey–based study was used to collect data from 100 community neurologists, from 31 US states, who treat MG. Differences across ratio variables were analyzed via Chi-square and t tests, at a significance level of P<0.05. Results: Of respondents, 76% reported using clinical judgment rather than guidelines to inform treatment decisions, and only 29% reported awareness of the updated 2020 International Consensus Guidance for Management of Myasthenia Gravis. Treatment patterns reported include use of prednisone-equivalent corticosteroid doses ≤10 mg/day for ≥6 months (76% of respondents). When corticosteroids are contraindicated or after failure of an initial nonsteroidal immunosuppressant therapy (NSIST), immunoglobulin therapy is the respondents’ preferred initial treatment in patients with acetylcholine receptor antibody–positive generalized MG (vs a second NSIST). Respondents expressed interest in more guidance on crisis management, initiating/titrating maintenance medications, and managing patients with comorbidities. Conclusions: Respondents to this survey reported varied approaches to MG management and, in some clinical settings, heavier reliance on clinical judgment than on available consensus-based guidance. Also observed was potential underutilization of NSISTs in patients for whom corticosteroids are contraindicated, with reliance, instead, on immunoglobulin.

Abstract BackgroundTraining in surgical specialties has declined during the COVID-19 pandemic. A study was carried out to further analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on specific aspects of clinical, training, and research activities performed by the otolaryngology residents in Spain.MethodsA cross-sectional qualitative study was conducted during the last two weeks of February 2021. The study consisted of an online survey taken by otolaryngology residents who had undertaken one-year continuing training from February 15, 2020 to February 15, 2021 and consisted of 26 questions exploring the impact of the COVID-19 on the health of the ENT residents and training activities. Categorical variables were reported as frequency and percentage. When indicated, Pearson´s Chi-square test (c2) with Yates´s correction and Pearson's correlation coefficient (r) were used.Results143 completed surveys were received from 264 Residents (54.17%). 36 residents (25.2%) have suffered from the disease due to SARS-CoV-2. Most of them only developed mild symptoms (86.1%), with 3 requiring hospitalization (8.3%). The origin of infection was unknown in all cases and the need for confinement was principally due to either attending an asymptomatic patient in 9 cases (6.3%) or to being in close contact with an asymptomatic person off hospital grounds in 22 (15.4%). 60.1% of the residents surveyed reported having lost more than 6 months of their training period, and in 18.8% of cases, it was as high as 10 and 12 months. There has been a reduction of more than 75% of what was planned in surgical training (p < 0.05) of tympanoplasty, mastoidectomy, stapedectomy, cochlear implants, endoscopic sinonasal and anterior skull base surgery, septoplasty and turbinoplasty.ConclusionsThe decline in ENT activity and residents having to assist in other COVID-19 units during the most critical moments of the pandemic, has caused the main reduction in their training capacity. Virtual activities have been widely accepted, but they have not completely replaced all residents’ training needs. Specialized ENT training should be extended from 6 months to 1 year to ensure adequate training, especially for recovering the surgical Otology and Rhinology hands-on training lost during the pandemic.

The pandemic has affected almost all areas of people's lives and the way food is prepared is no exception. Food safety has been hit the hardest in the COVID-19 era. The aim of this paper was to investigate the attitudes and hygienic practices and food handling during social isolation by COVID-19 in Peruvian homes. A cross-sectional study was conducted that included 538 participants over 18 years of age from all regions of Peru, administering an online survey of 15 questions. The sample was selected by nonprobability sampling for convenience. The data were analysed using the statistical software IBM SPSS version 24 and the Chi-square test was used. A significance level of 5% was considered. Women represented the highest percentage of the sample (73.0%). 87.7% of the participants considered correct handling of food at home important during social isolation. Whereas 49.7% of the sample reported that they began to emphasize good handling practices when the COVID-19 pandemic began. Hand washing practices were more frequent in participants with a higher level of education (p<0.001). In general, the participants demonstrated a positive attitude and were aware of the role of hygienic practices when handling food.

The last decade is witness to a number of education centers offering e-learning courses. This paper explores students’ perceptions about e-learning as a potential medium for delivering business education. The sample comprises of students studying full-time business management course at IIM-A, a premiere management institute in India. An online survey comprising of close-ended questions was administered to a set of 240 students. In response, 154 complete and usable submissions were received. An analysis was carried out on to identify the e-learning awareness and degree of familiarity of the students with the various e-learning technologies and factor analysis was carried out on statements on perception to extract the underlying factors of perceptions. Subsequently, a chi-square analysis was carried out to determine the relationship between perception and various demographic variables like gender, age group, education, educational background and work experience. Further, a one way ANOVA is performed to examine whether the mean factor scores vary across demographic variables.

<p>This study aims to 1) Describe the characteristics of the merchants of the market in the setono betek kediri which includes age, education level, family burden and work experience dependent on the access of capital to develop their business, 2) to analyze the relationship between the characteristics of the merchant of the market in the setono betek kediri towards their capital access to develop their business .The population in this study were vegetables and food street vendors, amounting to 120 traders. The number of samples used was 55 respondents with sampling technique using Slovin formula. The analysis used is Chi Square is to see the relationship between traders characteristics with access to their capital in developing their business. The results showed that the age of traders has a relationship to access capital, this is evidenced by the value of perason chi square 0.000 &lt;0.05. The level of education of traders is also associated with capital kases with pearson chi square value 0.001 &lt;0.05. The number of dependents of family burden is related to access to capital with pearson chi square value 0.001 &lt;0.05. The work experience of traders is related to their capital access in developing the business with pearson chi square value 0.005 &lt;0.05.</p><p><br />Key words : Age, education level, family burden, work experience, street vendors</p>

Covid 19 is considered to be a pandemic virus infection. SARS-Cov-2 causes it. It is a viral infection that is transmitted through aerosol and droplet contamination, cross-infection, etc. Dentists are at a higher risk due to this corona. It has affected daily routines of dentist's life as they are unavailable to run the clinic and attend to patients. Different search engines like PubMed, and Google Scholar was used. The questionnaire consisting of twenty questions was prepared by using online survey google forms and circulated among the participants. SPSS software was used to evaluate the results and data collection. Statistical analysis was done by chi-square test. Later, results were being tabulated. This survey that is taken among dental students, dentists, and random public, it is seen that the majority of them are well aware of this recent pandemic attack. (COVID-19). It is concluded that dentists are affected to a significant extent due to coronavirus as their daily routine is affected severely. This study aims to identify the effect on dentist life on a routine basis due to the pandemic COVID - 19.
