The article presents results of the research of modern students' subjective perceptions about the quality of life. The analysis of the literature has shown that the ideas about the quality of life are formed on the basis of the objective situation of human life and its subjective assessment. The initial perceptions about the quality of life were related to the ability to work, have an income, have the opportunity to receive education and medical care. Gradually, the list of indicators of life quality expanded and now it includes social activity, psychological comfort, the ability to take part in solving important issues, etc. The study subjective perceptions about the quality of modern students’ life took place on several key issues: What does the quality of life depend on? The quality of life for me is...? What measures does the state take to improve the quality of life of the population? The category of the population with the highest quality of life? The category of the population with the lowest quality of life? What measures should be taken to improve the quality of life? How has the quality of life changed in the digital economy era? What threats to the quality of life exist? The analysis of the survey results showed that two-thirds of the respondents believe that the quality of life depends on social, economic, environmental, and political conditions, and only one-third of the students note that the quality of life is determined by the values and lifestyle of each individual. The article also presents a list of threats and measures to improve the quality of life of people.

Modern socially-oriented policy in Russia prioritizes the complex of prevention activities with the use of modern health-saving technologies. At that it is necessary to substantiate methodologically and methodically integrated quantitative and qualitative characteristics, based on which evaluation of the types of functioning and conditions of life affecting health and quality of human life is possible. On the basis of specially developed complex program (15 scales) the study of the quality of life and health of the urban working population of St. Petersburg (n=2276) was executed. The method of the determination of the risk groups according to types of functioning and health groups was developed. Performed medico-social and clinical-statistical study allowed to identify changes of the quality of life indices according to the type of functioning at various conditions and characteristics of life and health. According to indices of the quality of life there was revealed the high proportion of urban residents in groups of relative and absolute risk. Especially significant decrease in the quality of life indices in these groups was noted on indices of socio-hygienic functioning, socio-economic well-being, socio-psychological comfort, social adaptation, recreational activities, medico-social activity and prevention activities. There was established a higher probability of the formation of chronic disease and the decrease in the satisfaction with the quality of life in urban residents in groups of the absolute risk with dissatisfaction with the living conditions and livelihoods. The proposed scales and types of functioning in the structure of health-related quality of life can be used in a comprehensive hygienic studies implemented on the basis of a risk assessment methodology, under comparison of indices of livelihoods and satisfaction with living conditions, in complex evaluation of the efficiency of medical preventive, social and environmental programs

The main objective of this paper is to describe the logic of the conceptual approaches regarding the quality of life, and to identify the main dimensions and measurable indicators of quality of life. The identification of the main conceptualizations of quality of life is an essential step, in the context in which quality of life is often ambiguous or has multiple meanings. Although often used as an umbrella term which encompasses many aspects of human life, we aim to describe the logic of the integrative approaches regarding well-being/ quality of life. The identification of the main dimensions and measurable indicators of quality of life with a brief description of those, will serve to operationalize a list of life quality dimensions. Keywords: quality of life research; quality of life measurement; quality of life theory; social indicators; economic indicators.

The article is devoted to the subjective assessment of the Belarusian student youth’s life quality, considered in the context of the implementation of the state youth policy. The concept of life quality is considered within the framework of the subjective approach that attributes to the individual a fundamental role in social life. Measuring of the subjective quality means making use of the index method, designed to reduce social information to a single indicator, regardless of the total number of the object’s indicators. Within the framework of the developed technique for measuring life quality, calculated were individual (particular) indices that describe the characteristics of the student youth’s public consciousness to certain aspects of life quality, as well as the integral index of life quality and aggregate index of the standard of living. The indicators of life quality are as follows: subjective assessment of the material standard of living, subjective assessment of health, accessibility and quality of medical care, subjective assessment of accessibility and quality of education, subjective assessment of accessibility and quality of social infrastructure, subjective assessment of the state of ecological environment, subjective assessment of quality of social environment and satisfaction with quality of life. The given technique enables to diagnose various aspects of the students’ life and identify weaknesses in implementing particular areas of the state youth policy. It was used to measure the quality of life of the Belarus State Economic University students who were the object of the study carried out in two stages – in 2019 and 2020. A comparative analysis of the data showed that the respondents demonstrated a high degree of satisfaction with both objective living conditions and subjective perception of the degree of satisfaction with their needs. The analysis of the general indices of subjective quality of life in retrospective, current and prospective aspects testifies to the respondents’ social optimism since their values do not decrease and in some cases increase. The only exception is the value of the index of subjective assessment of social environment quality: its decrease in 2020 indicates that the respondents fixed a negative impact on their lives and life of the whole society, which was caused by the socio-economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the political crisis in the country. Although social optimism is weakly expressed, the given epiphenomenon can be explained by the fact that the young people consider all indicators of life quality as virtually equal that is both conditioned by the results of socialisation and logic of a modern society’s development.

The article is devoted to defining the understanding of quality of life and analysis of key issues of life in a pandemic. The need for a philosophical understanding of the problems associated with overcoming the effects of the pandemic has been noted. The significant impact of quarantine restrictions on people's behavior, lifestyle, development of the economy, education and tourism is emphasized. Quality of life in a pandemic is defined as a comprehensive indicator of meeting the needs of people, taking into account material, psychological and social factors. The article notes that the consequences of the pandemic are manifested in the rethinking of human life, the need to resolve financial and economic contradictions, psychological problems, achieving comfort and security. Improving the quality and standard of living should occur not only through socio-economic levers of influence, but also through deep philosophical thinking, awareness of further steps to overcome the effects of the pandemic.

Background: Determination of both the pain-free and the maximum walking distances is part of a routine program in the angiological examination of patients with PAOD. It is however as yet not clear which of these two parameters is more relevant in determing a patient’s pathological condition. Patients and methods: In 150 patients with stable intermittent claudication, the claudication pain distance (CPD) and the maximum pain distance (MPD) were determined on a treadmill at 3,0 km/h and 12% inclination. The results were compared with the angiographic findings, the Doppler pressure values and the subjective quality of life (PAVK-86-Questionnaire). Results: The average pain-free walking distance was 89 ± 71m, and the maximum walking distance was 198 ± 141 m. There was no correlation between both walking distances and the angiographic extent of PAOD. Only the MPD correlated with the ankle systolic Doppler pressure and the ankle/brachial pressure index of the claudicating leg (r = 0.16, p < 0.05 and r = 0.20, p < 0.01). Both the CPD and the MDP had a significant influence on the life quality of the patients (CPD: r = –0.41, p < 0.001; MPD: r = –0.47, p < 0.001). In the multiple regression analysis, beside the body mass index, the MPD was found to be the greatest predictor for the pathologically relevant quality of life dimensions pain, complaints and functional status. Conclusions: The maximum walking distance correlated in a better way than pain-free walking distance with the objective and subjective assessment criteria of PAOD. Therefore, as regards the stage of the disease and the life quality of the patient, this parameter has a greater importance. This fact deserves to receive greater attention in everyday clinical practice and when conducting clinical trials.

The scientific problem of economics “Managing the quality of human life” is formulated on the basis of artificial intelligence, algebra of logic and logical-probabilistic calculus. Managing the quality of human life is represented by managing the processes of his treatment, training and decision making. Events in these processes and the corresponding logical variables relate to the behavior of a person, other persons and infrastructure. The processes of the quality of human life are modeled, analyzed and managed with the participation of the person himself. Scenarios and structural, logical and probabilistic models of managing the quality of human life are given. Special software for quality management is described. The relationship of human quality of life and the digital economy is examined. We consider the role of public opinion in the management of the “bottom” based on the synthesis of many studies on the management of the economics and the state. The bottom management is also feedback from the top management.
