ABSTRACT. School physical education teachers-researchers: idiosyncrasies and support to teacher educa¬tion in Fortaleza’s (Brazil) metropolitan region. Background: We have investigated the characteristics of the educative processes of three teachers and the reasons underpinned by their mobilization as teachers who care about researching. Objective: The objective of our investigation is to understand the idiosyncrasies of these teachers, who investigate their own educational practices in basic education in the area of physical education in the city of Fortaleza and in the metropolitan region. Methods: Our study is based on qualitative research with the collaboration of physical education teachers from public schools of the State basic education network at Fortaleza. The collaborative research was carried out with one female teacher and two male teachers over one year and a half. Results: The main result of the research is the effective engagement of teachers with their educational practices. Therefore, responsibility for teaching processes is associated with the modes of research carried out by the teachers. Based on questionnaires, a research was applied to students and teachers of elementary school in the municipality of Vila Velha (Espírito Santo, Brazil) aiming to verify the interest and knowledge about the “coastal zone”. The beach was one of the topics addressed in the investigation due to its importance and relevance to the city. From this initial verification, it was possible to infer about the need/possibility of incorporating themes inherent to the coast in educational and environmental education programs. The results indicated that there is a great interest in the processes involved in the beach environment, which would already allow the community to begin to raise awareness, from a young age, about the importance of their participation in coastal management programs. However, some gaps have been identified; students are still unaware of some relatively simple concepts on the subject, didactic material on the subject is scarce in schools, and field and laboratory practices involving the coastal environment are little used resources. The dialogue between basic education and coastal management can be a didactically viable path and contribute both to the acquisition of content and to the training of student-citizens more aware of their responsibilities as transforming, dependent and responsible agents for the environment. Keywords: Beach, citizen participation; environmental education, Vila Velha, Brazil.

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the performance of the Regional Parliament of Palangka Raya in carrying out legislative powers and to describe and analyze the constraints that affect the Palangka Raya City DPRD in setting regional regulations. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The types and sources of data chosen by researchers are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques used to obtain information are interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the performance of the Palangka Raya City DPRD (DPRD) in exercising legislative power with the City of Palangka Raya government is quite good. In the period 2015 to 2017, 36 local regulations have been discussed and established. However, if it is reviewed from the proposal initiation, it can be said to be unsatisfactory, because only 9 Regional Regulations are the initiative of the Palangka Raya City DPRD. Factors that influence the performance of the DPRD of Palangka Raya City in setting regional regulations are: Human Resources, Data and Information, and Experience. The condition of Human Resources with an average Bachelor level education (21 out of 30 people) is actually a supporting factor for performance. Given that the basic education is not in line and experience that is still lacking, it becomes an obstacle to support the legislative performance of members of the Palangka Raya City DPRD.

Writing this paper, the author wished to define problems that stem from the process of integrating Arab immigrants into the wider contemporary society of Teplice, not least because the city has often been mentioned in Czech media as a place where the foreigners are allegedly ill-adjusted to the local culture. Relying on the methods of qualitative research and on specifically constituted focus groups, we tried to find out what makes the process of integration in the city so troubled. In so doing, we considered the views presented by the representatives of municipal authorities, the non-profit sector and charity & church organizations - all more or less professionally engaged in the subject of our interest. Our results confirmed that Teplice is an illustrative example of the suitable practice. As mentioned in the Conclusion below, the Arab and Muslim societies follow certain rules and try hard to make them understood and tolerated.

This article presents the partial results of a broader research on the conceptions and evaluative actions of six physical education teachers in high school in the city of Medellín (Colombia). Specifically, this paper presents the findings on one of its objectives: to analyze the decisions that teachers make before starting a didactic unit (planning on assessment). The research assumed a qualitative design, with a methodological approach of multiple case study. The strategies used for this purpose were the semi-structured interview and documentary analysis. The main findings of the study show that planning on assessment is not a specific activity that requires an interest on the part of the teachers, because their previous experiences give them the security to approach future units without adaptations according to the group or the subject to work on.

The objective of this research is to recognize vernacular architecture as heritage architecture, a product of the community. The method applied to this research is qualitative in nature, the objective of which is the description of the characteristics of the object of study covering a part of the reality. Qualitative research is inductive, the study is on a small scale and through proximity to empirical reality. The research shows examples that were made through interaction with the inhabitants and as a result of direct observation. The stages of the research were: fieldwork linking access to the site with productive data collection; data analysis in a continuous review that consisted of reducing information, disposition, transformation and obtaining results and verifying them to reach conclusions. The preparation of the report generated a number of approaches, and one of them produced the subject of this work. The contribution of this work is that it aims to place a community rooted in its customs as Is Tochimilco, with an architectural richness that is transformed and even disappearing, because vernacular architecture is considered to be a worthless architecture.
