Writing this paper, the author wished to define problems that stem from the process of integrating Arab immigrants into the wider contemporary society of Teplice, not least because the city has often been mentioned in Czech media as a place where the foreigners are allegedly ill-adjusted to the local culture. Relying on the methods of qualitative research and on specifically constituted focus groups, we tried to find out what makes the process of integration in the city so troubled. In so doing, we considered the views presented by the representatives of municipal authorities, the non-profit sector and charity & church organizations - all more or less professionally engaged in the subject of our interest. Our results confirmed that Teplice is an illustrative example of the suitable practice. As mentioned in the Conclusion below, the Arab and Muslim societies follow certain rules and try hard to make them understood and tolerated.

Occidental societies, according to certain visions of a postmodern future as reflected in literature and arts, are heading towards a dystopian decadent world order. It is inside this perspective that I place the following essay with the aim to analyse the representation of Postmodernism and Postmodernity in Bernard Cohen’s experimental work, Snowdome. This novel can be conceived as a complex portrayal of contemporary existence and life in the city. By means of three different narrations and two stories separated by the unstable boundary of time, Cohen depicts contemporary Sidney from a nightmarish present of noise that leads to the complete isolation of the subject in a near future. The novel emphasises the multiplicity of information in contemporary society and the way in which that information becomes a constant noise flooding the city. The individual is unable to grasp a bit of that “pure reality” outside the simulacrum offered by the media and by the terrifying museum. Sidney and Australia become, in Cohen’s work, a prolongation of contemporary North-American invasive culture, based on the power of the TV screen and the falsehood of simulacrum, whereas individuals are plunged into a new time-space dimension which is placed somewhere in a postmodern time.

Title: Postcolonial Study towards Jember Alun-alun Area: Efforts to Explore the Potential of Creative City The Alun-alun is an important area in the city in Java, which has existed since pre-colonial era (can be traced back to the Majapahit era), which was later adapted creatively by the Dutch in colonial era to the post-independence of Indonesia. Studies on the Alun-alun is mostly done historically, symbolic or functional, whereas this study viewed from the perspective of postcolonial, that reverse point of view: from the square is considered passive and influenced, being square is active and can be aligned with the global trend. The research method is qualitative research, with a view creativity of Jember society in the process of changes. This study combines direct observation, observe documents and interview. Alun-alun became a media of "control" by the Dutch (towards Indonesian/Jember society) to the New Order era (towards the people of Indonesia/Jember), society is assumed to be liyan (others). Then look for new forms to imitate and reverse of what has been done by the "authorities" so that an alun-alun will be hybrid, diaspora and transculturation also occur. Jember alun-alun area from postcolonial view has a dynamic and adaptive character. Community and Jember alun-alun are not a passive entity that is marginalized and only accept influence from the outside, but they are the subject of the creative changes, to be aligned with a more advanced entity.

Jewish Cemeteries in Wrocław – Places (Un)known. Knowledge and Beliefs of Young Residents of Wrocław The article is based on empirical research, one of the elements of which was to verify the knowledge, beliefs and ideas of young Wrocław residents about the Jewish cemeteries located in the city. The subject of the analysis was, first of all, knowledge of their history, importance for local culture and community; ideas about the role of cemeteries in Jewish culture and customs related to death and funeral. An important aspect was also finding out what the place of cemeteries is and how they are perceived in the local community, do they function in the minds of young people and in what way, are they really known to them and are they associated with the Jewish community living here, or rather perceived as places of memory and museum space.

Knowledge management is currently considered a key factor for organizational development, even more so with the constant competitive dynamics of companies, which see in knowledge a fundamental potential to improve productivity. In this sense, its assessment is key, but considering the culture as a conditioning variable to the development of this procedure nonetheless. Although several studies have addressed the subject, there has been insufficient research into the call center services companies in Colombia. The research results presented herein are part of a qualitative research project with descriptive and correlational studies on knowledge management in BPO companies in the city of Manizales, Colombia. An assessment of the knowledge management categories and organizational culture was made, based on the adaptation of a knowledge management assessment model, of which 312 observations were made. It is concluded that organizational culture is statistically significant for knowledge management.
