The quality of an election can be measured by the number of violations that can be solved to ensure the legitimisation of the election results. Violations in elections are still a problem since the amount tends to increase, which needs a long period of time to be solved. The enforcement of the regulations, such as the role of Bawaslu, is limited because it only serves as a ‘postman’ who forwards the violation cases to another law enforcement institution. The shifting of electoral supervision towards a more participatory approach has become an opportunity to develop an electoral supervision model that involves the community, especially in the prevention phase. This article describes the emergence of the idea of volunteerism in the context of the election, particularly in the election’s implementation monitoring and supporting the functions of Bawaslu. The article uses qualitative methods to analyse the various regulations in relation to monitoring and supervising the election, as well as various referral sources that contain voluntary practice information. The result of the study shows that an early detection system is an alternative method that can be developed, considering the voluntary spirit which is currently undergone an improvement. Therefore, it is necessary to build an early system in the prevention phase by conducting supervision on the implementation of the overall stages of the election and building public awareness to guard the integrity of the election results.

Abstract The International Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), from the onset of COVID-19 pandemic, promoted One Health in global and national responses. The OIE accentuated the role of the veterinary profession due to testing capacity of animal health laboratories and expertise. Veterinary Faculty Sarajevo through its Veterinary Institute participates in the national veterinary service with diagnostic and advisory roles. It has proactively enhanced the scope and quality of laboratories, including strengthening the interdisciplinarity and internationality. Development achieved through earlier pandemic threats resulted in having laboratory and technical facilities for molecular SARS-CoV-2 detection in the wake of the unveiling COVID-19 pandemic (early 2020). From confirmation of the first COVID-19 cases in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), our staff participated in crisis response teams and, so far, held over sixty media addresses promoting public awareness and science based information. Our laboratories were included in the official detection system and were the first to sequence SARS-CoV-2, then to establish the Alpha COVID-19 variant in BiH human samples and to substantiate one-way virus transmission from humans to pets. The aim of this paper is to describe our activities as a participant in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, alongside faced challenges and gained experiences.

Teaching skills are one of the skills that must be possessed by a teacher. Whether or not the pedagogical competence possessed by teachers can be seen from the quality of school performance. Supervision still tends to lead to inspection. So far, the implementation of academic supervision is considered effective. In order for the Academic Supervision to provide objective and detailed results, collaborative self-evaluation is carried out, namely peer evaluation to find teacher strengths that need to be maintained and deficiencies that must be corrected. This study aims to determine the effect of collaboration-based Academic Supervision model with Peer Evaluation Approach to Improve Pedagogical Competence and Quality of School Performance: The Role of Principal's Motivation as Moderation Variable. This research is a quantitative study with numerical data analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) assisted by the Smart PLS application. The results showed that Academic Supervision has an effect on Pedagogical Competence with a P-Value of 0.000 (p <0.05). Academic Supervision affects the Quality of Performance with a P value of 0.000 (p <0.05). motivation is able to moderate positively pedagogical competence with a P value of 0.032 (p <0.05). Motivation is not able to moderate supervision of the quality of performance with a P value of 0.138 (p> 0.05). Supervision is able to explain the Pedagogical Competence (Y1) variable of 69.4%. Supervision is able to explain the Performance Quality variable (Y2) of 40.1%. The principal should be able to periodically monitor the learning carried out by the teacher in the classroom, so that the principal knows the problems faced by the teacher in learning. Researchers who want to research further on this topic can use other variables and a wider sample.

Community policing approaches have been used successfully to prevent crime, reduce the fear of crime, and improve public safety. A raging debate, however, is emerging as to whether this approach can be used with equal effectiveness in the prevention of terrorism. Over the last sixteen years, Kenya has tried several approaches to “the war against terrorism.” However, none of the approaches has succeeded in stamping out terrorism. The purpose of this study, therefore, was to find out ways in which the philosophy of community policing could be modelled to fit a citizen based-counter terrorism strategy. The study established that community policing principles can be used to create sustainable partnerships between law enforcement agencies and residents, thus facilitating the identification of root causes of youth radicalization. Training of police officers on community policing principles and trends in youth radicalization was strongly recommended. Further, police officers should invest more in trust-building initiatives in establishing a joint early warning system with the local communities they serve. The study further recommends an intensive public awareness campaign on the nature, indicators, and symptoms of youth radicalization within Eastleigh and the country at large.
