Background : It is importan to promote physical activity for elderly people, but to improve level of physical activity of elderly people is a challange for health workers. Purpose : The purpose of this quasi- experimental study was to determine the effect of exercise consultation program by using Transtheoretical Model (TTM) approach on physical activity level in elderly people at Darussalam’s Community Health Center. Research method :The two comparison groups for this study were purposively designed for pre-test/post-test procedures; sixty elderly people at Darussalam’s Community Health Center with randomly allocated into the experimental (30 people) and the control (30 people) groups. While the experimental group received the exercise consultation for 8 weeks, the control group received routine care. Physical Activity Scale for Elderly (PASE) was use to assess the the physical activity of elderly. Comparative assessments on differences in level of physical activity both within group using Wilcoxson macthed-pairs and between group using Mann Withney U Test. Results : The results of this study found that after receiving exercise consultation program, level of physical activity in elderly people significantly increased in the experimental group (P < 0.05), but there was no significant difference in the control group. Between groups,  level of physical activity significantly increased after receiving the exercise consultation while no change was found among those who did not (P < 0.05).Conclusion: The exercise consultation program by using TTM approach could increase level of physical activity of elderly people.

Background: A decrease in the physical activity level in old age is common, which results in an increase in the number of falls and chronic conditions. Associated with that occurs the decline in motor skills as a result of the deficit in the interaction of cognitive and motor processes. Physical activity level can be associated differently with each motor domains. Objective: We analyzed the relationship between physical activity level and motor aptitude, and to identify which motor domains were most sensitive to detect insufficiently active level in older adults. Methods: Participated in the study 385 elderly people of both sexes. For the evaluation of the subjects were adopted the International Questionnaire on Physical Activity and the Motor Scale for Older Adults. Results: The majority of the elderly were active. In the comparison of motor aptitude between active and insufficiently active (IAC) elders a significant difference was found in the Global Coordination, Balance, Body Scheme and General Motor Aptitude. From the analysis of the area under the curve (AUC), we verified that these domains also were the ones that presented adequate diagnostic accuracy to identify IAC elderly. Besides that active elderly have presented the General Motor Aptitude classified within normality while the IAC below the normal. Conclusion: Our data suggest that IAC older adults present lower motor aptitude than the active elderly, especially in the domains of Global Coordination, Balance, Body Scheme and General Motor Aptitude, and that these domains were sensitive to indicate IAC older adults.

Abstract Background: To compare change in level of physical activitybetween pre-and post- diagnosis of breast cancer in Chinese women.Methods:Based on an on-going prospective study consisting of 1462 Chinese women with early-stage breast cancer, a validated modified Chinese Baecke questionnaire was used to measure physical activity at baseline (12 months before cancer diagnosis), 18-, 36- and 60-months after diagnosis (over the previous 12 months before each interview). Results:The overall physical activity level at post-diagnosis was 5.8 MET-hours/week, which was significantly higher than that at pre-diagnosis at a median level of 0.6 MET-hours/week (P <0.001).The median levels of physical activity at 18-, 36- and 60-months follow-up were5.3, 4.4 and 3.9 MET-hours/week, respectively. There was no significant difference between any two of the three follow-ups at post-diagnosis. The proportions of participant who met WCRF/AICR recommendation before and after cancer diagnosis were both low, being 20.7% and 35.1%, respectively.Compared to pre-diagnosis, most of the patients improved or had no change on level of physical activity at post-diagnosis, with the respective proportion being 48.2% and 43.8%. Conclusions:Adherence to current lifestyle recommendation for cancer survivors, Chinese women with breast cancer significantly increasedlevel of physical activity level after cancer diagnosis, and such improvement was sustained to five years post-diagnosis. The proportion of patients who met the exercise recommendation for cancer survivors was still low. Encouraging patients on the importance of durable high level of physical activity in breast cancer survivorship is warranted.

Background: Pain during pregnancy and childbirth is a physiological process, but it leads to discomfort without pain management. Acupressure and effleurage are considered to be effective in reducing labor pain.Objective: To examine the effect of acupressure and effleurage in reducing pain during in the active phase of the first stage of labor in the community health center of Kawunganten, Cilacap regency.Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest control group design. There were 33 respondents recruited using simple random sampling. Numerical rating scale was used to measure labor pain. Data were analyzed using one way anova, Post hoc anova and repeated anova for normal data distribution. Kruskal Wallis was also used for non-normal data distribution.Results: There was a statistically significant mean difference of pain scale before and after given acupressure and effleurage (p-value <0.05). However, acupressure treatment had a greater effect  in reducing pain compared with effleurage.Conclusion: Acupressure and efflurage had a significant effect in reducing pain in mothers in the active phase of the first stage of labor. The results of this study are expected to enrich and contribute to the development of science in the field of health promotion, and  serve as an additional input for midwives in order to carry out the care of mother during labor.

Objective: This study aimed to examine the pregnancy exercise during the third trimester of pregnancy on duration of the first and second stage of labor in primigravida at the Community Health Center of Sukamaju, Bandar lampung, Indonesia.Methods: This study employed a quasy experimental design with posttest-only non-equivalent control group. This study was conducted from 8 January 2017 to 12 February 2017 at the Community Health Center of Sukamaju. Forty-eight primigravida mothers were selected using consecutive sampling, with 24 assigned in the experiment and control group. Data were analyzed using Mann whitney and Chi square test.Results: The average duration of the first stage of labor in the experiment group was 495 minutes and in the control group was 685 minutes (p= 0.000); while the average duration of the second stage of labor in the experiment group was 42.5 minutes and in the control group was 68.75 minutes (p=0.000).Conclusion: There was a statistically significant difference in the duration of the first and second stage of labor between experiment and control group. It is expected for midwives in the community health centers to implement pregnancy exercise program to help mothers in accelerating the delivery process.

AbstractObjectiveThis study aimed to compare the physical activity level and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) between older survivors residing in temporary housing after the Great East Japan Earthquake (GEJE; temporary housing group) and older individuals residing in their own homes (control group) and to clarify whether mobility function and muscle strength were correlated with physical activity among older temporary housing residents.MethodsSubjects were recruited to the temporary housing group (n=64, 19 men and 45 women) or control group (n=64, 33 men and 31 women) according to their residence. Physical activity was assessed by the number of walking steps determined by using a triaxial accelerometer, mobility function by the Timed Up and Go test, muscle strength by the grasping power test, and HRQOL by the Medical Outcome Study 36-Item Short Form Survey v2.ResultsIn the temporary housing group, reduced physical activity and correlation between physical activity and mobility function in men, and muscle strength in both men and women, were observed. There was no significant difference in HRQOL between groups except for bodily pain in women.ConclusionSupport for older evacuees should focus on maintaining their physical activity level as well as on HRQOL to avoid deterioration of health in these survivors. Abstract BackgroundPhysical activity during pregnancy period is one of the issues with priority during pregnancy period. Researches show that women reduce their physical activity during this period and are unaware of the benefits on the health of the mother and embryology. Although researchers regarding physical activity during pregnancy have prepared many guidelines; it is not however clear why pregnant women do not perform physical activity and the effectiveness factors that facilitate the desired behavior. MethodsThe research population included all pregnant women aged 18 to 40 years with gestational age of 12-38 weeks referring to the healthcare centers in District 5 of Tehran Municipality, from 22 districts of the city who had eliminated their physical activity during pregnancy. Questionnaires of physical activity assessment questionnaire after educational intervention in pregnant women (PPAQ) and a questionnaire designed based on the results of the needs assessment and the dimensions of the PEN-3 model were used for assessment. This study is a Research Clinical Trial (RCT). Due to the nature, a quasi-experimental research design (pre-test, post-test) with the control group was used in this research. ResultsBased on the obtained results, the intervention based on E-learning has a significant effect of enabling factors to increase physical activity in pregnant women in the experimental group. In addition, the intervention based on E-learning has a significant effect on the training factors in order to increase physical activity in pregnant women in the experimental group. ConclusionBased on the research results, it can be said that there is a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups in the scores obtained from training factors in the pretest and the experimental group. Furthermore, it can be said that there is a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups in the scores obtained from the enabling factors in the pre-test and the experimental group.

Objective. The purpose of this study was to analyze factors related to lower walking speed in persons with multiple sclerosis (PwMS).Methods. A cross-sectional survey was conducted. The study participants were 120 consecutive PwMS, who were able to walk, even with device assistance. Demographic and clinical data were collected. Walking speed was measured in 10 m walk test. Possible factors were assessed: disability, fatigue, visual functioning, balance confidence, physical activity level, walking impact, cognitive interference, and motor planning. A forward linear multiple regression analysis examined the correlation with lower speed.Results. Lower walking speed was observed in 85% of the patients. Fatigue (41%), recurrent falls (30%), and balance problems were also present, even with mild disability (averageEDSS=2.68). A good level of physical activity was noted in most of the subjects. Dual-task procedure revealed 11.58% of walking speed reduction. Many participants (69.57%) imagined greater walking speed than motor execution (mean ≥ 28.42%). Physical activity level was the only characteristic that demonstrated no significant difference between the groups (lower versus normal walking speed). Many mobility measures were correlated with walking speed; however, disability, balance confidence, and motor planning were the most significant.Conclusions. Disability, balance confidence, and motor planning were correlated with lower walking speed.

Objective: Appropriate tuberculosis (TB) treatment guidelines are one of the many factors that influence the success of TB treatment. The patient’sdrug supervisor is a functional role that is part of the directly observed treatment short course, a program to support the success of TB treatment.The aim of this study was to analyze the TB treatment suitability in a community health center and the benefit of treatment compliance supervisionby the patient’s designated drug supervisor.Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study in the Community Health Center of Pademangan subdistrict, North Jakarta, involving 205 subjects toanalyze appropriate fixed-dose combination (FDC) anti-TB drug administration and an experimental study involving 23 control group TB patients and23 intervention group TB patients to assess the benefit of supervision by each patient’s drug supervisor.Results: The association of FDC anti-TB drug side effects with the success of TB treatment was not statistically significant (p=0.173). There wasan increase in drug supervisor knowledge of 8.6% in the intervention group and 13% in the control group. There was no statistically significantassociation between the knowledge of the drug supervisor and the 2nd month (p=0.575) and the 6th month of sputum treatment.Conclusion: Minor side effects of FDC anti-TB drug did not affect the success of TB treatment; therefore, treatment was continued if these adverseevents occurred. There were no correlations between the drug supervisor knowledge level with medication compliance or with sputum conversion(months 2 and 6).

Abstract Background One of the most important consequences of COVID-19 pandemic is anxiety and stress in the general population that can be reduced by regular physical activity. The aim of this study was to estimate the physical activity levels and mood state during covid-19 quarantine among the Kermanshah population. Methods In this cross-sectional study, using the purposeful random sampling method, a total of 2471 subjects ((male (n = 1256) and female (n = 1215)) were selected. To assess the physical activity level from physical activity questionnaire short form (IPAQ-SF) and mood state was measured by the abbreviated form of the Iranian version of the standard POMS questionnaire (Bill Morgan 1979). The descriptive statistic method (mean, standard deviation, and percent), deductive (Chi- square and Spearman's correlation) were used for analyzing the data. Results The results showed that a significant difference was observed between the number of sessions (P = 0.001), intensity (P = 0.001), and duration of exercise (P = 0.001) before and during coronavirus. There are significant positive relationships between low (r = 0.93; P = 0.001) and high (r = 0.673; P = 0.034) levels of physical activity and negative mood state, and a positive relationship between moderate physical activity level (r = 0.82; P = 0.001) and positive mood state. Conclusions It could be determined that the current quarantine has negatively affected the mood state. In general, to prevent COVID-19, regular physical activity is recommended under the health and safety protocols.
