Pramoedya Ananta Toer’s Korupsi and Tahar Ben Jelloun’s Korupsi are two literary works of world writers who have similarities in terms of titles and themes. This study aims to find out and describe the structure, describe the similarities and differences, and knowing and describing the suitability between Pramoedya Ananta Toer’s Korupsi and Tahar Ben Jelloun’s Korupsi as material for literary learning at school. The object of this research is Pramoedya Ananta Toer’s Korupsi and Tahar Ben Jelloun’s Korupsi. Through the qualitative research paradigm, this research was conducted using descriptive methods of comparative analysis and objective approaches based on the literature itself. The data collection technique of this study uses library research. In connection with the comparative literary work step, research applies structural analysis by applying Robert Stanton's structuralism theory to reveal the similarities and differences contained in the two novels. Based on the results of comparative analysis of textual structures, we obtain a description of differences and similarities from two data sources so that it can be concluded that the Pramoedya Ananta Toer’s Korupsi influences to Tahar Ben Jelloun’s Korupsi as indicated by the use of titles, themes, characters and characterizations. The results of a comparative study of the Pramoedya Ananta Toer’s Korupsi and Tahar Ben Jelloun’s Korupsi are used as recommendations for literary learning in schools. The Corruption novel by Pramooedya Ananta Toer is suitable as a literary learning material in schools, while the Corruption novel Tahar Ben Jelloun is not appropriate because it does not meet 3 criteria and aspects of the selection of teaching materials, namely aspects of language, culture, and psychology.

The antimicrobial activities of lactoferrin (Lf) depend on its capacity to bind iron and on its direct interaction with the surface of microorganisms. Its protective effect also extends to the regulation of the host response to infections. Depending on the immune status of an individual, Lf can have anti-inflammatory properties that downregulate the immune response and prevent septic shock and damage to tissues. It also acts as a promoter of the activation, differentiation, and (or) proliferation of immune cells. Although most of the anti-inflammatory activities are correlated with the neutralization of proinflammatory molecules by Lf, the promoting activity seems to be related to a direct effect of Lf on immune cells. Although the mechanisms that govern these activities are not clearly defined, and probably differ from cell to cell, several cellular targets and possible mechanisms of action are highlighted. The majority of the molecular targets at the surface of cells are multiligand receptors but, interestingly, most of them have been reported as signaling, endocytosis, and nuclear-targeting molecules. This review focuses on the known and putative mechanisms that allow the immunoregulating effect of Lf in its interactions with immune cells.

The recent development in artificial intelligence is quite astounding in this decade. Especially, machine learning is one of the core subareas of AI. Also, ML field is an incessantly growing along with evolution and becomes a rise in its demand and importance. It transmogrified the way data is extracted, analyzed, and interpreted. Computers are trained to get in a self-training mode so that when new data is fed they can learn, grow, change, and develop themselves without explicit programming. It helps to make useful predictions that can guide better decisions in a real-life situation without human interference. Selection of ML tool is always a challenging task, since choosing an appropriate tool can end up saving time as well as making it faster and easier to provide any solution. This chapter provides a classification of various machine learning tools on the following aspects: for non-programmers, for model deployment, for Computer vision, natural language processing, and audio for reinforcement learning and data mining.

Mobile learning is becoming increasingly popular. Educational web sites can be used as supporting learning tools for students who wish to supplement their knowledge without restrictions of time and place. The continuously increasing demand for enhanced remote and mobile services, as well as the difficulty in easily incorporating current learning services for mobile users, renders essential the adaptation of educational material for these requirements. The objective of this work is to present and evaluate a methodology for producing content semantics from learning material. The proposed approach results in recommending links, which are relevant to the mobile users’ interests, by exploiting the recorded usage of an educational portal and the semantics of the learning content. The implementation results reveal enhanced capabilities in mobile learners’ web experience and usability.

Every student of conifer wood structure is familiar with the importance that in modern anatomical work is attached to the occurrence and distribution of resin canals. It is apparent in classification, identification, and, above all, in discussions of phylogeny. For example, the Pineæ are said to be distinguished by the normal occurrence of resin canals throughout the secondary wood, the Abieteæ by their occurrence practically only in response to wounding. The canals in the latter case are considered by some as being “revived” by injury and by others as in the process of acquirement. However, important though resin canals undoubtedly are, too little is known with regard to them to warrant many of the prevailing conclusions. There has been no systematic study of their origin and distribution, even in a single species. It was to make a beginning towards the filling in of this gap in our knowledge that the present study was undertaken. The spruce was chosen partly because of the abundance of local material, both in nurseries and in the wild state. In fact, although nursery stock was ultimately made use of to perhaps a greater extent than the material from the woods, the study could probably not have been completed on this material alone, so obscure did the principle underlying the distribution of the resin canals seem when viewed merely from a study of nursery plants. There were, however, additional reasons of a scientific nature for the selection of the genus Picea. The resin canals, occurring apparently normally in the wood, are not nearly so abundant as they are in the pines, and are more irregular in distribution. Two low-power photographs have been made to illustrate these points. In Picea sometimes resin canals are completely lacking in an annual ring, whereas in the adjacent area they are fairly abundant (Plate 8, Photo. 1), but not so numerous nor so evenly distributed as they are in the pine, where every ring of the section shows several (Photo. 2); nor is their radial distribution in the year's growth uniform. They occur at various regions in either spring or summer wood, even to the very borders of both, although usually they are more abundant in the earlier part of the season's growth. The distribution of what are ordinarily considered normal .resin canals is thus very sporadic in Picea. Again, in the region of wounds, tangential series quite like those so frequently figured as typical of Abies, are plentiful ( cf . Photos. 23 and 24, Plate 9, the former of Picea, the latter of Abies).

The HERO project aims to develop a training program for caregivers to be working in the elderly care sector. The program is particularly addressed to caregivers from Middle Eastern and African countries as refugees and intends to help them integrate into European society. This paper seeks to offer an overview of the project, including its objectives, underlying principles, and deliverables. The paper particularly portrays the second intellectual output (O2) of the project, namely the ‘On the job’ training in language and terminology curriculum, which has been developed as the end product of O2. Initially, the methodology adopted to create learning material for language learning in a specific-purpose context is analyzed. Based on this, the paper provides a description of the content development by justifying and showcasing the learning material and laying out the logic behind this, through the trainers’ guide. E-learning tools have been integrated in the course material, which also justifies the methodology applied for the purpose of this project.
