Benchmarking in the international economy – in particular, in the economies of the most advanced countries – has emerged fairly recently. This is a modern economic concept that implies improving the performance of a company’s practices with the aim of increasing its competitive ability. Benchmarking is carried out through the mutual cooperation of managers with colleagues in similar or differing businesses; exchanged visits; brief, active participation in other companies; and through other forms of cooperation, providing insight to the production process or various practices in other, usually competitive companies. In essence, benchmarking in a form of education for top management personnel, enabling them to achieve a higher degree of business efficiency, and in turn, to enhance the competitive ability of their business entity, enterprise, company, etc. Highly valued by the Japanese in the 1980s, this type of education resulted in outstanding business achievements by the companies that applied these models of analytical operations. Through the application of this model, managers were provided with insight to the practices of competitive companies. This knowledge acquired from others they sought to apply in their own companies and as a result, they succeeded in considerably improving both the business and production efficiency of their companies. The aim of benchmarking is to detect a company’s internal weaknesses and to identify the competitive advantages of its stronger rivals. The efficiency level of the competition is revealed through an analysis of date gathered.

An urgent problem in the modern economy is the management of enterprise competitiveness. The solution to this problem is the main criterion for production efficiency, the effectiveness of the management system, as well as the need to maintain and improve the economic security of a business in conditions of financial and economic instability. Today, one of the most optimal and effective means of matching market conditions and internal opportunities for developing competitiveness is the formation and dissemination of innovations in the field of marketing. As practice shows, almost all business entities successfully developing on the market are obliged to the correct policy of market assessment (competitors, consumers, assortment and price) and marketing. Another important issue is the release of products or the provision of services that meet the modern requirements of scientific and technological progress. The development and analysis of a strategic concept should activate self-organization and business adaptation in an ever-changing market environment, provide new competitive advantages and increase the level of manageability and competitiveness of the enterprise. The importance of competitiveness for the development and even the existence of an enterprise determines the relevance of the topic of the paper. The purpose of the work is to study the essence of enterprise competitiveness and determine the ways of proper management for its further development. This paper discusses the concepts and essence of competitiveness and competitiveness management of an enterprise. Also, the levels of management and ways to increase the competitiveness of the enterprise in modern economic conditions are determined.

Introduction and Objective of the Research. According to the modern economic theory, compliance in the global business and its support occupy a certain, moreover, indefinite place among the heaviest burdens for global business entities. The objective of the article is to cover the issue of smart contractual relationships (SCR) as a way to increase the business activity of global business entities by minimizing compliance risks (CR).Hypothesis of Research Studies. With current technology solutions available today, it is expected that SCR will allow minimizing the burden of global business entities by widespread CR. The most important role among such solutions is played by the latest distributed ledger technologies (DLT). In the medium term, these technologies will reach such a level of development, at which the transition of contractual relationships from ordinary to intelligent ones will not only lead to the decrease in business activity in world markets, but will also contribute to its substantial increase.Objective. To prove that CR substantially overburden global business processes; to substantiate the urgency of the issue of the transition of the global business to SCR, as a way to a possible lack of CR in the global business environment.Research Methods:- theoretical substantiation for proving the significance of CR as factors of the global business environment and the necessity of using DLT in SCR;- statistical analysis for conducting a normative monetary valuation of CR and representing the degree of awareness by global business entities (GBE) of the competitive advantages of SCR over ordinary ones. Results: the significance of compliance risks in the global business is defined; the importance of smart contractual relationships in the way of eliminating compliance risks essential for entrepreneurship is theoretically grounded. The existence of advantages of the activities of global business entities within one or more sectors according to the cluster principle has been proved:- the cluster economy is a set of solely smart contractual relationships with the use of blockchain technologies;- using these technologies, entrepreneurship in the cluster is accompanied by minimal compliance risks.Conclusions. The article outlines the economic essence of SCR using DLT. Accordingly, theoretically, DLT will promote the spread of SCR to the entire global business environment, since business processes that are not accompanied by CR are possible then. Further research will cover the essence of DLT, due to which all the main advantages, as well as all existing deficiencies of the technology and defects for their active introduction in SCR in the world.

Epichloë endophytes may not only affect the growth and resistances of host grasses, but may also affect soil environment including soil microbes. Can Epichloë endophyte-mediated modification of soil microbes affect the competitive ability of host grasses? In this study, we tested whether Epichloë endophytes and soil microbes alter intraspecific competition between Epichloë endophyte-colonized (EI) and endophyte-free (EF) Leymus chinensis and interspecific competition between L. chinensis and Stipa krylovii. The results demonstrated that Epichloë endophyte colonization significantly enhanced the intraspecific competitive ability of L. chinensis and that this beneficial effect was not affected by soil microbes. Under interspecific competition, however, significant interactions between Epichloë endophytes and soil microbes were observed. The effect of Epichloë endophytes on interspecific competitiveness of the host changed from positive to neutral with soil microbe removal. Here higher mycorrhizal colonization rates probably contributed to interspecific competitive advantages of EI over EF L. chinensis. Our result suggests that Epichloë endophytes can influence the competitive ability of the host through plant soil feedbacks from the currently competing plant species.

Many researchers assume that the greater flake tool production efficiency of bifacial versus amorphous cores helps explain the prevalence of bifacial core technology among mobile populations. This paper describes experiments that test whether bifacial cores are more efficient carriers of flake cutting edge than amorphous cores. The first experiment established a size threshold of flake cutting efficiency. The second experiment reduced ten bifacial and ten amorphous cores to exhaustion and calculated the amount of usable and total flake edge produced by each core type, excluding flakes beneath the size threshold. Results indicate that bifacial cores are not significantly more efficient producers of usable or total flake edge than amorphous cores. Bifaces do produce flakes with significantly higher edge-to-weight ratios than do amorphous cores, but more of the weight of bifacial cores is lost to waste during the flake production process. Flake production efficiency therefore does not explain the use of bifacial cores among mobile populations.

As the mature oil fields have stepped into the high water cut stage, the remaining oil is considered as potential reserves, especially the attic oil in the inclined fault-block reservoirs. A novel assisted gas–oil countercurrent technique utilizing gas oil countercurrent (GOC) and water flooding assistance (WFA) is proposed in this study to enhance the remaining oil recovery in sealed fault-block reservoirs. WFA is applied in our model to accelerate the countercurrent process and inhibit the gas channeling during the production process. Four comparative experiments are conducted to illustrate enhanced oil recovery (EOR) mechanisms and compare the production efficiency of assisted GOC under different assistance conditions. The results show that WFA has different functions at different stages of the development process. In the gas injection process, WFA forces the injected gas to migrate upward and shortens the shut-in time by approximately 50% and the production efficiency improves accordingly. Compared with the basic GOC process, the attic oil swept area is extended 60% at the same shut-in time condition and secondary gas cap forms under the influence of WFA. At the production stage, the WFA and secondary gas cap expansion form the bi-directional flooding. The bi-directional flooding also displaces the bypassed oil and replaced attic oil located below the production well, which cannot be swept by the gas cap expansion. WFA inhibits the gas channeling effectively and increases the sweep factor by 26.14% in the production stage. The oil production increases nearly nine times compared with the basic GOC production process. The proposed technique is significant for the development of attic oil in the mature oil field at the high water cut stage.

During the hydrometallurgical production process, there are many towers working at the same time. In order to improve production efficiency, we need to control the level height of every tower. Takes example for 6 towers, do research on the level control system in metal ions production process. According to the theory of materials balance, the mathematic model of the system are established. Programmed the mathematic model by Matlab. In order to make the level of each tower at the same height, work out how many adjust times needed and how much adsorbate every tower inflow and outflow each time. Then analysis the data results of error and variance, which have confirmed the feasibility and rationality of the level automatic balance system model established in this paper.

AbstractBrazil is the second largest ethanol producer in the World and largest using sugarcane feedstock. Bacteria contamination is one the most important issues faced by ethanol producers that seek to increase production efficiency. Each step of production is a selection event due to the environmental and biological changes that occur. Therefore, we evaluated the influence of the selection arising from the ethanol production process on diversity and composition of Bacteria. Our objectives were to test two hypothesis, (1) that species richness will decrease during the production process and (2) that Lactic Acid Bacteria will become dominant with the advance of ethanol production due to selection. Bacterial community assemblage was accessed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing from 19 sequential samples. Temperature is of great importance in shaping microbial communities. Species richness increased between the Decanter and Must steps of the process. Low Simpson index values were recorded at the fermentation step, indicating a high dominance ofLactobacillus. Interactions betweenLactobacillusand yeast may be impairing the efficiency of industrial ethanol production.

The main objective of the European policy of rail transport is the development of a single railway area. The opening of the railway sector to market competition impose that railway undertakings behave like any other modern enterprises in other markets and in other industries. It means, they must constantly develop and maintain competitive advantages, and be better than others. In today’s very intense competition conditions, this is the most difficult to achieve. The railway undertakings are challenged to find optimal solutions to operate efficiently and effectively, in order not only to survive on the transport market, but also to develop and maintain a competitive advantage. The paper developed innovative model for the evaluation of efficiency of railway operators for passenger transport assessing the scope of work of railway undertakings that can greatly help to increase the competitive ability of railway undertakings in the single railway market. The developed models allow the integration of indicator groups (resources, operational, financial, quality and safety indicators) into a single assessment of the scope of work of railway undertakings and also allow the provision of information about the corrective actions that can improve the scope of work of the railway undertaking. The proposed model has been tested on actual examples, e.g. railway undertaking Railways of Republic of Srpska. The analysis of the results shows exceptional suitability for use of developed approach for assessing the scope of work of railway undertakings.
