The results of the development of a curd functional product with vegetable filler Melissa officinalis L. are presented. An analysis of the health status of the population carried out in recent years by the World Health Organization shows that the world community is facing acute questions related to the need to prevent the so-called “diseases of civilization”, which include diseases of the cardiovascular system, oncology, diseases associated with impaired lipid metabolism and the gastrointestinal tract, al ergii, decreased immunity, disorders of the nervous system. According to experts, many of these diseases leading to death, disability or disability have a steady upward trend. Up to 44% of the population of our country suffer from cardiovascular diseases (as of December 2019), while more than 82% have functional disorders leading to them. Malignant neoplasms and precancerous conditions are observed in 39% of the adult population, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract are found in more than 48% of the working population of the country. The solution to these problems may be the development of functional food products.

COVID-19, the disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has rapidly spread throughout the world and was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization, thus leading to a rapid surge in the efforts to understand the mechanisms of transmission, methods of prevention, and potential therapies. While COVID-19 frequently manifests as a respiratory infection,1 there is evidence for infection of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract1–4 with documented viral RNA shedding in the stool of infected patients.2,4 In this study, we aimed to investigate the expression of ACE2 and TMPRSS2, which are required for SARS-CoV-2 entry into mammalian cells,5 from single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) datasets of five different parts of the GI tract: esophagus, stomach, pancreas, small intestine, and colon/rectum.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has projected that the world should prepare for an aging society. As the fourth most populous country in the world, the elderly population in Indonesia is also continuously growing. In 2010, the proportion of the elderly group was merely 5%, and it is expected to increase to 11% in 2035. Understanding the current situation of the adult population in Indonesia would be crucial to prepare for the future aging population. This article analyzed the current socio-demographic status, nutrition status, nutrient intake, and health profile of the current Indonesian adult population through a literature review. The key issues to prepare for healthy aging in Indonesia are summarized. Acknowledging the profile of the adult and senior adult population in Indonesia will provide beneficial information for all stakeholders in preparing Indonesia for a better healthy aging population with improved quality of life.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a violation of carbohydrate metabolism caused by insulin resistance and relative insulin insufficiency or a violation of insulin secretion with or without insulin resistance. The number of people with diabetes increased from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014. The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that by 2030 this number will increase to 439 million, which is almost 10% of the adult population. A dentist is often the first to encounter manifestations of diabetes mellitus in the oral cavity, such as caries, candidiasis, dryness, inflammatory periodontal diseases, etc. Therefore, timely diagnosis and close interaction of doctors of different specialties is crucial for the treatment of this disease.

Since the enactment of the COVID-19 pandemic status by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020. Massive joint efforts are needed by the world community to fight the spread of the COVID 19 virus so as not to cause more victims. The crisis due to the spread of Covid 19 is not only seen as a health crisis, but affects crises in various sectors of public life, because the impact affects all sectors of life. Facing this, in addition to medical efforts by finding anti-viruses, public awareness of a healthy lifestyle is also needed, namely getting used to behavior following health protocols in carrying out various life activities to inhibit and stop the rate of transmission of Covid 19. Paying attention to the movement of the spread of Covid 19 which runs very fast Therefore, fast public awareness is also needed to get used to following the covid 19 protocol. For this reason, all levels of society must take part in increasing public awareness to carry out various activities by following the Covid 19 protocol including Higher Education, as the efforts that have been carried out by UIN Mataram through Participatory Work Lecture (KKP) activities in 2020

The World Health Organization (WHO) recognized the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as a worldwide pandemic caused by a newly discovered coronavirus responsible for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-Cov2). The virus appeared in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and spread throughout the world, causing several mortality cases particularly in older people and those with chronic diseases. A body of evidence suggests a multi-target of SARS-Cov2, which may act beyond the respiratory system being responsible for other pathological complications, including the gastrointestinal tract, nervous, and the renal functions. The chapter will provide a literature review of the recent data on COVID-19 physiopathology involving in addition to the respiratory dysfunction all the potential physiological functions which could be independently and directly impaired by the SARS-Cov2.

The purpose of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis of the consumption of antibiotics for systemic use reimbursed by the state in Kazakhstan for 2017–2019 with the Access, Watch, and Reserve classification (AWaRe 2019) of the World Health Organization (WHO). The evaluation of the consumption of antibiotics for systemic use in Kazakhstan for 2017–2019 was carried out using the ATC/DDD methodology in accordance with the WHO AWaRe classification. The study used data on all antibiotics that were centrally purchased by a single purchaser during the study period. To understand how often Access group antibiotics are taken in Kazakhstan, the top-10 most consumed antibiotics were additionally studied. The results of a comparative analysis of the antibiotics for systemic use consumption for 2017–2019 by the Access, Watch, and Reserve groups showed a negative trend of a decrease in the consumption of Access group drugs from 1.17 defined daily dose (DDDs) per 1000 inhabitants per day (DID) (39%) in 2017 to 0.59 DID (30%) in 2019. There is an increase in consumption of Watch group antibiotics from 1.84 DID (61%) in 2017 to 1.37 DID (68%) in 2019, as well as an increase in consumption of Reserve antibiotics from 0.001 DID (0.03%) to 0.4 DID (2.11%). In recent years in Kazakhstan, there has been a decrease in the consumption of Access group antibiotics. In addition, the Watch group antibiotics are widely consumed with a certain upward trend. In 2019, one Reserve antibiotic was included in the top-10 most commonly consumed antibiotics. There is a predominant consumption of parenteral forms of antibiotics for systemic use in the country.

According to the World Health Organization, obesity is officially a global epidemic they have aptly termed – ‘Globesity’. Obesity worldwide has more than doubled since 1980, reaching 600 million in 2014, occurring in parallel with increased high-energy, low-nutrition food consumption and sedentary lifestyles – both of which result in a positive energy imbalance. These environmental factors influence our metabolism, by modifying the way our genes are expressed, and similarly those of any organisms within us, such as the 38 trillion bacterial microbes inhabiting our gastrointestinal tract (gut microbiome), compared with 30 trillion human cells in the entire body.

Diabetic retinopathy is a frequent manifestation of long standing diabetes mellitus. According to the World Health Organization diabetes affects nine percent of the adult population worldwide (Diabetes Fact Sheet, 2015). Of all of the common diseases of the eye, diabetic retinopathy has a great impact on the working age population and therefore presents a huge socioeconomic burden in all areas of the world.
