English coursebooks for senior high school do not sufficiently cover topics related to natural and social sciences, so students have to find material to supplement the books. Yet, finding digital language learning material for practicing reading on the Internet that suits their level of proficiency as well as those that fit the curriculum is not always easy. To address this common problem, the study researched and developed Readyread, a mobile application-based supplementary material for reading comprehension. Educational Design-based Research (DBR) was employed in the study. Experts review conducted during the formative evaluation stage of the product yielded constructive feedback for the refinement of the product, more specifically, those concerning material development and multimedia presentations of the app. Students who tried out the product also gave positive feedback on the use of the app. They were delighted with the multimedia assistance and features built-in app, such as videos, popped-up glossaries, games, as well as reading materials that are closely related to the topics they learn at school. They also suggested more texts be added to the apps so that they can learn more independently whenever they have the time. Keywords: reading comprehension, supplementary material, app-based reading platform

Mobile health encompasses remote and wireless applications to provide health services. Despite the advantages of applying mobile-based monitoring systems, there are challenges and limitations; understanding the challenges may assist in identifying available solutions and optimising decision-making to apply mHealth technologies more practically. This study aimed to investigate the main challenges related to mHealth-based systems for health monitoring purposes. This review was carried out through investigation of English evidence from four databases, including Scopus, PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science, using a defined search strategy from 2013 to 2017. Two independent researchers reviewed the results based on PRISMA guidelines, and data was categorised using a bottom-up approach to reach a framework for the most general challenges. Among the 105 papers obtained, eight works were selected. The revealed challenges were categorised into six main branches across a tree (with 55 nodes, four levels) including user-related, infrastructure, process, management, resource and training challenges. Identifying the resolvable and preventable challenges, such as those related to training, design might play a crucial role in preventing loss of resources and in growing the success rate of a project, particularly if considered in national level projects.

Abstract:The transfer of training is, together with the factors involved, one of the challenges that universities have to face. Focusing on the teacher training in ICT, in this work we analyse the role of individual and training design factors on transfer. A cross-sectional correlation investigation was performed, participating 155 teachers from three Catalan universities who had been trained in ICT. As far as the training design, the results show that a training designed according to the real context of the participant is the biggest influential factor on transfer. Also, the results suggests that the capacity of the participant to integrate technology, pedagogy and content (TPACK) is an influential factor on transfer. The technological competence, which is similar to instrumental ability, obtained the 4th position in the correlation analysis. This paper concludes with recommendations in order to facilitate the transfer of teacher training in ICT.

The Abstract Algebra is one of the most difficult subjects for students. In this course, students are required to have several textbooks as their reading source. However, the existing textbooks do not guide students in carrying out the process of preparing evidence and tend to speak non-Indonesian languages. The purpose of this research is to design and develop textbooks on abstract algebra courses which contain proofs in full step by step that can improve the ability to organize evidence. This type of research is development research with formative evaluation design consisting of self-evaluation, prototyping (expert reviews, one-to-one, and small groups), and field tests. The validity of the development of abstract algebra textbook is passed through the stages of self-evaluation and expert reviews. The results showed that the prototype of abstract algebra teaching books had a very high level of validity (89.29%).

The development of electronic learning materials is very necessary in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic which requires lecture activities to be carried out online. This was carried out to support physical distancing in an effort to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19. Currently, there are not many electronic learning materials available that lead to student centered learning (SCL) and can be implemented in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this research is to develop an eLEMA (Electronic Learning Material) application, an Android-based electronic learning material with content or material that can be accessed online and offline, and with features that make it easier for users to operate. This research is a research development (Research and Development; R & D) to develop Android-based ELEMA-SCL PROTOZOA (Electronic Learning Material-Student Centered Learning) for Zoology courses. This development model consists of 3 phases of approach, namely: (1) Phase 1: Needs Assessment; (2) Phase 2: Design; and (3) Phase 3: Develop / Implement. The product developed in the form of an Android-based eLEMA application made using the MIT App Inventor is feasible to implement. The implementation results show: (1) the effectiveness of online and offline lectures with a gain value of 0.52 in the Medium category; (2) student response to the implementation of eLEMA is positive. Thus the eLEMA application can be used for online and offline lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
