Article discussed the relationship between the fasting of Ramadan with the formation of a positive character. The purposes of this article were exploring the meaning and finding the influence of fasting in shaping the character of a person. A descriptive-analytical method was applied in the research. The procedures were data collection, data classification, data analysis, and conclusions. The source of the data was gained from information available in the literature study. The data was analyzed by using content analysis method (content analysis), which was an attempt to explore the symbolic meaning of the message or the contents. The result shows that Ramadan fasting worship performed by Muslims for 29 or 30 days is not just limited to the ritual, but it also contributes to the formation of one's character when is viewed from the perspective of the character education. It can be concluded that fasting is done in earnest to bring a positive influence on the formation of character for someone. The positive character built through fasting are the habit of appreciating the time, keeping the rights of others, being honest and patient, and the habit of giving and being helpful.

Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince is a work of children literature which conceives a lot of life values. The aim of this study is to identify the character education values conceived in The Little Prince. The conceptual framework of this study is the values of character education formulated by Indonesian Ministry of Education. This study used qualitative content analysis method. The results of the analysis found the values of character education in the story of the Little Prince such as religious, tolerant, social care and responsible. This values of character education are related to each other. In The Little Prince religious character is the basis of other characters. Religious character in The Little Prince primarily concerns with the spiritual aspect. The spiritual aspect concerns with establishing and maintaining spiritual relationships. Spiritual relationship with God is unseparable from the relationship with others. It is in the terms of relationships with others that tolerance, caring for others/social care and responsibility have its meaning and importance.Keywords: character, education, values, religious

This research was motivated by the problem of being able to find the values of character education in the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. The purpose of this study is to describe the values of character education in the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. This research is a qualitative research using content analysis method. The object of this research is the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. The data in this study are words, phrases, sentences and discourses which are the values of character education. The data source in this research is the novel Gunung Ungaran by Nh. Dini. The data techniques used are reading novels, marking data related to the value of character education, recording data, making inventory, and classifying. The results of this study indicate that there are ten values of character education found in the novel Gunung Ungaran. In addition to the value of character education, other character education values are also found, such as: 1) religious, 2) Tolerance, 3) Work hard, 4) Independent, 5) Curiosity, 6) Love the homeland, 7) Friendly/communicative, 8) Caring for the environment, 9) Social care, 10) Responsibility.Keywords: Education, Character, Novel.

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memahami secara komprehensif nilai-nilai humaniora dalam antologi puisi "Blues untuk Bonnie" karya WS Rendra. Metode penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan studi pustaka, dan teknik analisis data dengan analisis isi melalui kajian struktural semiotik. Hasil penelitian yakni antologi puisi Blues untuk Bonnie karya WS Rendra mengandung nilai-nilai humaniora yang terlihat melalui tanda-tanda semiotik berupa moralitas, simpati, empati, kasih sayang, kepedulian, kerjasama, dan toleransi. Temuan penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa masih banyak jenis-jenis karya sastra yang dapat dijadikan objek kajian dengan menggunakan pendekatan-pendekatan yang berbeda untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai pendidikan terutama pendidikan karakter bagi siswa dan mahasiswa. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan implikasi terhadap pengajaran sastra di sekolah lanjutan sampai perguruan tinggi dalam bentuk penyusunan bahan ajar atau pengembangan model pembelajaran apresiasi sastra sebagai alternatif pemecahan masalah pendidikan karater bangsa. Kata Kunci: Nilai-nilai humaniora, antologi puisi, kajian struktural semiotik Abstract The objective of this research is to understand comprehensively the humanities values in antology of poetry "Blues for Bonnie" by WS Rendra. The research used content analysis method with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are used library study and data analysis techniques with content analysis through the study of structuralism semiotic. The result was the antology of poetry 'Blues for Bonnie" by WS Rendra contains humanities values seen through semiotic signs are morality, symphaty, empbaty, love, care, togetherness, and tolerant. The findings lead to the recomendation that there are still many kinds of literary works which can be the object of research by using different approaches for investigating education characters! values for students. This finding implicates to literary instruction in schools to universities in forms of teaching materials or literary appreciation instruction as one of the alternative problem solving of the nation character education. Indonesia and Japan are two countries known for their high regard for culture and tradition, with no exception for those associated with religious rituals. In Japan, the Shinto religion is highly renowned for being the existing and believed ancestor religion. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, Islam is the largest religion that has indirectly influenced the cultures and traditions developed in society. Both Islam and the Shinto have a purification ritual with water as their medium, Padusan and Misogi-Harai, respectively. This study focuses on three things, i.e., the history, time of performance, and ritual procedure, to examine the corresponding meaning of the water as the media in both rituals. The method used to collect data is the literature study, and the data is then analyzed using the qualitative content analysis method. As a result of the three aspects studied, two similar meanings of water to the ritualistic purpose were discovered, i.e., purifying the soul from impurities/sin and returning the spirit to devotion to God.

<em>This research aims to describe the use of diction,the figure of speech, the use of<strong> </strong>image andcharacter education valuesin novel Seorang Laki-Laki Yang Keluar Dari Rumah by Puthut EA. This research employed descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis method. The data of research was contained in novel Seorang Laki-Laki Yang Keluar Dari Rumah and the result of interview with some informants. Technique of collecting data used was library and interview techniques. In this study, the author employed flow model of analysis.The results of research were as follows. Firstly, diction used in novel Seorang Laki-Laki Yang Keluar Dari Rumah consisted of six types. Secondly, there were four figure of speeches used in novel Seorang Laki-Laki Yang Keluar Dari Rumah. Ellipsis as the part of linking figure of speech is used most widely by author. Thirdly, the image used in novel Laki-Laki Yang Keluar Dari Rumah consisted of six types visual images were used most widely. Fourthly, there were ten character education values in novel Seorang Laki-Laki Yang Keluar Dari Rumah. Curiosity education character value was the one used most dominantly.</em>

This study aims to explore the value of character and philosophy of life of the founder of Muhammadiyah (KH. Ahmad Dahlan). The research method used is library research. The primary data source is the philosophy of the teachings of KH. Ahmad Dahlan, and the secondary sources are other books that are relevant and relevant to the research. Analysis of the data used in this study is the Content analysis method. The author's findings relate to the question that KH. Ahmad Dahlan bequeathed seven philosophies and his messages, in which teaches to be a visionary human being able to think ahead that is to be happy in the world and the hereafter. Character Value is exemplified by him, namely the value of religious character, honesty, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, national spirit, love of the motherland, valuing achievement, friendly or communicative, peace-loving, fond of reading social care and responsibility. The character education of KH. Ahmad Dahlan can support government character education so that it becomes an active character education.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali nilai karakter dan falsafah hidup pendiri Muhammadiyah (KH. Ahmad Dahlan). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Sumber data primer adalah falsafah ajaran KH. Ahmad Dahlan, sumber sekundernya adalah buku-buku lain yang bersangkutan dan relevan dengan penelitian. Analisa data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode content analysis. Temuan penulis berkaitan dengan pertanyaan yang ada bahwa KH. Ahmad Dahlan mewariskan tujuh falsafah dan pesan-pesan beliau, yang di dalamnya mengajarkan supaya menjadi manusia yang visioner mampu untuk berfikir kedepan yaitu supaya dapat bahagia dunia dan akherat. Nilai Karakter yang dicontohkan oleh beliau yakni nilai karakter religius, jujur, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat atau komunikatif, cinta damai, gemar membaca, peduli sosial, dan tanggungjawab. Adapun pendidikan karakter KH. Ahmad Dahlan dapat mendukung pendidikan karakter pemerintah sehingga menjadi pendidikan karakter yang efektif.

<strong>Abstrak: </strong>Studi ini mengkaji konsep pemimpin dalam Islam. Studi ini merupakan studi kepustakaan. Data diperoleh dari kitab-kitab tafsir untuk menemukan bagaimana hakikat kepemimpinan dalam Islam. Data dianalisis dengan metode analisis isi. Secara umum, studi ini membahas kriteria pemimpin dalam Islam dan konsep pemimpin perempuan dalam Islam. Beriman, memiliki visi dan program kerja, mampu menjalankan tugas, diterima oleh umat, tidak diktator dan rendah hati. Dalam konteks pemimpin perempuan, tidak ada kesepakatan apakah perempuan boleh menjadi pemimpin. Banyak pemikir di era modern yang tidak dapat menerima pendapat para ulama klasik yang melarang perempuan menjadi pemimpin. Studi ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dan inspirasi bagi kajian-kajian tentang gender di era saat ini.<br /> <br /><strong>Kata Kunci: </strong>Islam, pemimpin, perempuan, Alquran, hadis<br /> <br /><strong>Abstract:</strong> <strong>Depicting Leadership Discourse in Islamic Perspective</strong>. This study examines the concept of leader in Islambased on the Qur’anic interpretation. This study is a literature study. Data is obtained from the books of Qur’anic exegeses to find out how the nature of leadership in Islam. Data is analyzed by content analysis method. In general, this study discusses the criteria for leaders in Islam as well as the concept of women leaders. It is found that amongst the criteria are having faith or believer, having a vision and working program, being able to carry out tasks, being accepted by the people, not being dictatorial and humble. In the context of women leaders, there is no agreement on whether women may become leaders. Many thinkers in the modern era cannot accept the opinions of classical scholars who forbid women to become leaders. This study is expected to contribute and inspire studies on gender in the contemporary era.<br /> <br /><strong>Keywords</strong>: Islam, leadership, women, Qur’an, hadith

Lending and borrowing are fundamental human activities. Islam generally permits such activities provided that they are based on genuine necessities and will not lead to unfavourable consequences. This article discusses the nature of lending and borrowing activities from the Islamic perspective and specifically in terms of the relationship between debtors and creditors. The main compilations of hadith (sunnan sittah) and related Sharah (commentaries) are referred to in a discussion and analysis of hadith pertaining to debt activities. The content analysis method, incorporating relevant hadiths and patterns of discussion, found that borrowers are obliged to repayment according to a predetermined contract. Additionally, lenders must remain considerate to the borrowers should the latter are unable to fulfil their obligation. In conclusion, a warm relationship between both parties should be established, as lending is a benevolent act which guarantees the lender a considerable reward in the afterlife.

Zapin Siak dance is a traditional Malay dance which has been cultured, lived, and developed in line with human life from time to time. Zapin Siak dance is danced by two male dancers taking parallel position in a form of motion which generally uses a lot ofThis is a qualitative research using a content analysis method, known as content analysis. The object of research was Zapin Siak Dance in Kampung Dalam Subdistrict, Siak District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. The data used were primary and secondary data. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The research instrument used was the researcher itself and was assisted by writing instruments, cameras, and flash drives. The data analysis was done by describing and interpreting various movements of the Zapin Siak dance. It refers to the elements of motion: the head, body, hands, andThe results show that the movement structure of Zapin Siak Dance in Siak District, Siak Regency, Riau Province, consists of 22 kinem elements, 22 morphokinem elements, 7 motif elements, and one overall dance form, namely Zapin Siak dance. Zapin Siak dance has a syntagmatic relationsip between the motif level and a paradigmatic relationship in overall dance.Keywords: Analysis, Motion Structure, Zapin Siak Dance

Abstract The present study is part of a wider research about conjugality and parenthood in remarriage and aims to investigate the perception of stepmothers about their relationship with their stepchildren. For that, a qualitative research was carried out, in which 16 stepmothers of the middle socioeconomic segment, aged 28 and 43 years, were interviewed. The results were analyzed according to the content analysis method in its categorical aspect. Six categories of analysis emerged from the material. In order to achieve the objectives formulated in this study, the category stepmother-stepchild dyad, divided into two subcategories: bonding with the stepchildren and participation in education will be discussed. It was observed that the relationship between the stepmother and her stepchildren, besides being built gradually, is crossed by the father and the mother who authorizes or shies away the bond between the stepmother-stepchild dyad.
