One of the topical problems of modern medicine is the impact of microbiota on human health. The correlation between microbiome disorders and the development of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, skin, respiratory system, obesity, autism and even depression has been established. Specialists pay most attention to the formation and maintenance of microbiota balance in children from birth, which is necessary for the preservation of their health in the future. Microbiota is studied by scientists from all over the world, which makes it possible to establish safe and effective strains of probiotic bacteria and on their basis to create a new generation of multiprobiotics. Creation of modern probiotics, their rational use and efficiency were discussed at the international symposium «Microbiotic disorders as an interdisciplinary problem of global level», held in the framework of the XVII Russian Congress «Innovative technologies in pediatrics and pediatric surgery» in October 2018. Dr. Ashton Harper (UK) and Professor Irina Zakharova shared their experience of effective dysbiosis correction with the help of modern English multiprobiotic Bak-Set.

Analyzing the evolution of new generation peripherals can affirm that the next decade will be characterized by the exponential increase in the number of “objects” interconnected to the internet that will be more able to communicate with each other independently and will lead to the affirmation of the paradigm internet of things (IoT), which will revolutionize everyday life on a global level. This evolution will concern not only the business realities, interested in the development of applications and systems necessary to emerge and be competitive on the market but also the ordinary citizens who will be surrounded by interconnected objects able to facilitate their everyday life. This aspect implies particular attention to the implementation of solutions oriented to cyber security necessary to guarantee an efficient and effective level of protection against the threats coming from the “world” internet, known by the term cyber space.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recognized the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as a worldwide pandemic caused by a newly discovered coronavirus responsible for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-Cov2). The virus appeared in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and spread throughout the world, causing several mortality cases particularly in older people and those with chronic diseases. A body of evidence suggests a multi-target of SARS-Cov2, which may act beyond the respiratory system being responsible for other pathological complications, including the gastrointestinal tract, nervous, and the renal functions. The chapter will provide a literature review of the recent data on COVID-19 physiopathology involving in addition to the respiratory dysfunction all the potential physiological functions which could be independently and directly impaired by the SARS-Cov2.

Aim/Purpose: To investigate anxiety in online courses and its relationship with overall online courses satisfaction as it may vary with online courses experience. Background: Delivering online courses in higher education institutions continue to increase. Anxieties seem to be persistent. Although there are many technology and internet related anxieties studies, online courses anxieties are relatively scarce. The cause for this anxiety has not been resolved or addressed sufficiently. This study takes part in this quest. Methodology: A fully online course with not face to face interaction was used for the study. A survey methodology approach was used for the anxiety scale measurements. Over 1400 students participated in the survey. Contribution: Students taking online courses continue to be challenged with anxieties. Their experiences (number of courses taken) with online courses may influence their anxieties and satisfaction levels, but that has not been studies. We contribute to this body of literature. Findings: One third of students reported to continue to experience anxiety while taking their online courses. The effect of their anxieties on their satisfaction does not seem to be influenced by their online course experience. Recommendations for Practitioners: Focus on the various elements that may influence anxieties and satisfaction of students while taking courses. For IT designers, interface and point of interactions may be the aspect to pay attention to, while professors would need to consider course pedagogy and its interaction within the IT learning environment. Recommendation for Researchers: Anxiety in online learning should take front stage as it represents an underlying stream of influence on all research in the field. Further study of the effect of online course experience on satisfaction and anxiety is necessary. Impact on Society: Anxiety in learning has many detrimental effects that last a student’s career and personality over their entire life. The impact of reducing anxieties while online learning is significant and tangible especially that online learning is at its initial stages of an exponential growth and will change the world sooner than later. Future Research: Pedagogy for efficient and effective online courses to reduce anxieties and in-crease satisfaction.

The new virus is now known as the corona virus. Corona virus is a virus that attacks the respiratory system. A disease due to viral infection is called COVID-19. The majority of cases there is a corona virus in Wuhan, China. In March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced the corona virus as a pandemic. Pandemic COVID-19 becomes much discussed worldwide. This study aims to look at the impact of social phenomenon with the presence of the corona virus through various media; both print and electronic that led to symbolic violence. The results showed that the symbolic violence is present in a variety of ways with specific objectives.

Tourism represents a driver of economic growth and job creation all around the world. It has become one of the key factors of progress, not only of the individual destinations and regions but also the world economy. The paper aims to analyze the effects of different types of the crisis on the volume of tourism activities, tourism turnover, and revenues in the tourism sector. Despite occasional crisis situations and shocks, tourism has seen continued expansion and has shown great resilience. Having in mind that the COVID-19 pandemic has a major impact across world regions, as well as tourism is one the hardest-hit sectors, a special part of the paper analyzes the impact of the health crisis in Serbia and the global level. The intensive and deep impact of the pandemic on the tourism sector requires strong support at the national and global levels through the relevant institutions.

The first cases of a new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) were identified toward the end of 2019 in Wuhan, China. Over the following months, this virus spread to everywhere in the world. By now no country has been spared the devastation from the loss of lives from the disease (Covid-19) and the economic and social impacts of responses to mitigate the impact of the virus. Our lives in South Africa have been turned upside down as we try to make the best of this bad situation. The 2020 school year was disrupted with closure and then reopening in a phased approach, as stipulated by the Department of Education. This booklet is a collective effort by academics who are Members of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) and other invited scholars to help you appreciate some of the basic scientific facts that you need to know in order to understand the present crisis and the various options available to respond to it. We emphasise that the threat of infectious diseases is not an entirely new phenomenon that has sprung onto the stage out of nowhere. Infectious diseases and pandemics have been with us for centuries, in fact much longer. Scientists have warned us for years of the need to prepare for the next pandemic. Progress in medicine in the course of the 20th century has been formidable. Childhood mortality has greatly decreased almost everywhere in the world, thanks mainly, but not only, to the many vaccines that have been developed. Effective drugs now exist for many deadly diseases for which there were once no cures. For many of us, this progress has generated a false sense of security. It has caused us to believe that the likes of the 1918 ‘Spanish flu’ pandemic, which caused some 50 million deaths around the world within a span of a few months, could not be repeated in some form in today’s modern world. The Covid-19 pandemic reminds us that as new cures for old diseases are discovered, new diseases come along for which we are unprepared. And every hundred or so years one of these diseases wreaks havoc on the world and interferes severely with our usual ways of going about our lives. Today’s world has become increasingly interconnected and interdependent, through trade, migrations, and rapid air travel. This globalisation makes it easier for epidemics to spread, somewhat offsetting the power of modern medicine. In this booklet we have endeavoured to provide an historical perspective, and to enrich your knowledge with some of the basics of medicine, viruses, and epidemiology. Beyond the immediate Covid-19 crisis, South Africa faces a number of other major health challenges: highly unequal access to quality healthcare, widespread tuberculosis, HIV infection causing AIDS, a high prevalence of mental illness, and a low life expectancy, compared to what is possible with today’s medicine. It is essential that you, as young people, also learn about the nature of these new challenges, so that you may contribute to finding future solutions.


The international migration policy under the conditions of migration crisis and COVID-19 pandemic is being updated both at the global level and level of national economies. Numerous international legal acts implemented by the world community since the early 1950s are further evidence that the problem of international migration is not a new, but an urgent problem that is exacerbated in the XXI century. The subject of the article is the world migration policy under the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal is to analyze the tools for regulating migration flows at the international level. Objectives: analysis of the international experience of migration policy and classification the main types of migration based on various grounds, systematization the key institutional practices of international migration regulation, assessment of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on international migration policy, formation the recommendations for integration of migrants into host communities of different countries. General scientific methods are used: system analysis – to determine the characteristics of global migration flows, induction and deduction – to systematize the key causes, consequences and types of international migration. The following results were obtained: current trends in global migration during 1999-2019 were analyzed, the regulatory support of migration processes at the global level was assessed, changes in remittances of migrant workers were analyzed, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on international migration policy was analyzed. Conclusions: over the last 20 years, the number of international migrants has increased significantly to 271.6 million people, which is 3.5% of the world’s population; the share of migrants in the total population is highest in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait; the most popular countries for labor migration at the beginning of 2020 are the United States, Germany and Saudi Arabia; requirements for migration policy in the XXI century are growing constantly, because of the fact that it allows to use the positive potential of migration in the interests of countries development, active international cooperation in this area, and the new challenges facing the world economy; the international migration policy is being transformed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic – many countries granting migrants a regulated status, extending their residence and work permits, providing them with access to basic health care and social security, et.

This contribution deals with the impact of digitisation on what it means to educate and to be educated, especially in the wake of the massive switch to on-screen learning during the COVID-19 crisis. It is argued that we can only adequately relate to this phenomenon if it is based on a strong pedagogical and technocentric account of (school) education. Drawing from authors such as Arendt, Lahire, Stiegler and Serres, the argument is made that four basic pedagogical operations (sharing love for the world, showing newcomers that there is a common world, drawing attention to things that matter, creating the student experience and sense of belonging within a new generation) is under considerable threat. At least, this is the case if we don’t try to conceive of new digital technologies in a pedagogically meaningful manner, instead of unreflectively relying on existing conferencing technologies.
