This study aimed to determine the effect of twinship on the hematological and biochemical parameters in ewes of the Kıvırcık breed commonly raised in the Thrace region of Turkey. The study material consisted of 30 Kıvırcık ewes at days 130-150 of gestation, aged 3-5 years, weighing 55.61 ± 0.76 kg. After ultrasound examination, the ewes included in the study were divided into a single-pregnant group (n = 15) and a twinpregnant group (n = 15), and their blood samples were taken. The levels of red blood cells (RBC), hematocrit (HCT), hemoglobin (HGB) white blood cells (WBC), lymphocytes (LYM), monocytes (MON), non-esterified fatty acid (NEFA), β-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA), glucose, cholesterol, total protein, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) were determined in their blood samples. It was found that, although twinship did not affect hemogram values in ewes (p > 0.05), the biochemical parameters, BHBA, ALT, and AST values, were significantly affected by twinship (p <0.05). A high positive correlation was found between BHBA and NEFA. Thus it was concluded that twin pregnancy did not cause any significant changes in hematological parameters in Kıvırcık ewes. However, the significantly higher BHBA in twin-pregnant ewes and the high positive correlation between BHBA and NEFA indicate that the negative energy balance started to affect these animals, and a carbohydrate deficiency emerged. Therefore, twin-pregnant ewes should be monitored closely to reduce the risk of ketosis.

The present study designed  to investigate the hematological and blood biochemical changes in pre and post lambing periods in Iraqi Nuaemie ewes. Ten Nuaemie ewes weighed 35-45 kg and aged between 2-3 years were reared in animal's house of Veterinary College / Tikrit University from October-2018 to March-2019, Ten ml of blood samples were collected from each animal during the periods of last gestation month, at lambing and 2 weeks thereafter, Two and half ml of blood samples were collected in EDTA- containing tubes to determine the hematological parameters and the remaining was used to separate serum and stored at -20 °c for blood biochemical assessment. The results   revealed decreased in total red blood cells, haemoglobin and packed cell volume during post lambing period. The total white blood cells count and neutrophils were decreased during the post-partum period, while the lymphocyte was decreased at the day of lambing (50±5.8%). The biochemical parameters exhibited lesser total protein concentrations at the day of lambing (6.5± 1.85 g/dl ) while greater glucose, cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations during post-partum period. The concentration of urea and creatinine increased during the pre-partum period whereas, LDL and HDL concentrations increased in post- lambing period. The minerals concentrations revealed lesser concentrations of Zink and iron during the post-partum period while, copper concentration was greater during similar period. In conclusion, the physiological status of animals have clearly effects on the haematological and biochemical parameters in Iraqi Nuaemie ewes.

In several countries, a lot of researches have shown the toxicity of pesticides on farmers. Meanwhile, few of them have dealt with vegetable farmers in Benin. Therefore, this study has been carried out to assess the effects of pesticides on vegetable farmers’ health. This study is conducted on 30 vegetable farmers who used pesticides and 20 subjects as control group. Pesticides used by vegetable farmers and their risky behavior were investigated. Their blood samples were collected and some tests were performed for hematological and biochemical parameters. For the statistical analysis of the results, Student’s test was used. Our investigations revealed that vegetable farmers of Benin were exposed to different active ingredients of pesticides such as (Abamectin, Acetamiprid, Chlorpyriphos ethyl, Cyfluthrin, Cypermethrin, Emamectin benzoat, Flubendiamid, Lambdacyhalothrin, Mancozeb, Profenofos, Spinosad and Spirotétramate). The hematological parameters showed significant decrease in White blood cell (WBC), Red blood cell (RBC), Hemoglobin (HGB), Hematocrit (HTC), Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV), Platelet (PLT) count among study group. The enzymatic activities of Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST), Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) have significantly raised between vegetable farmers and the control group, while the serum concentration in urea and creatinine showed insignificant difference in the study group. These results suggest that pesticides have adverse effects on vegetable farmers of South of Benin.

A total of 150 (30.61%) anemic patients out of 490 patients diagnosed to have iron deficiency anemia (IDA) have been selected for the first time in Bangladesh. For detailed study, blood samples from 150 anemic patients along with 25 controls were analyzed. Analysis of variance showed significantPvalue between mean platelet volume (MPV) in females (8.08 μm3) and males (7.59 μm3) (P<0.05) in iron deficiency anemia patients. Besides, the value of white blood cells (WBC) in males (10946.08/cmm) was significantly higher than in females (9470.833/cmm) (P<0.05). The significant correlation was observed among hemoglobin levels with hematocrits, hemoglobin with RBC, RBC with hematocrits, and MCV with MCH as well as MCH with MCHC. However, the negative correlation was observed between the hematological variables neutrophils and lymphocytes (r=-0.989). The common complaints we have found in the survey were weight loss 73.33%, attention problem 68%, dyspepsia 65%, decrease of appetite 72%, weakness 68%, diarrhea 65%, and headache 55% among IDA patients. ANOVA showed significant statistical difference in all the hematological and biochemical parameters. Analysis of variance test between anemias with only one of three biochemical parameters decreased and control showed that this group does not have iron deficiency.

The effects of heparin and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) on plasma biochemistry and hematological parameters in Asipencer persicus were studied. Differences in ALT and ALP activity were found between serum and heparinized plasma (P<0.05). AST activity in EDTA treated samples increased (P<0.05) compared to its values in serum. On the contrary, ALP activity showed a significant decrease compared to its serum level (P<0.05). Samples collected with EDTA showed an increase in haematocrit, mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and white blood cells (WBC) values (P<0.05) when compared to those collected in heparin. The other measured biochemical parameters did not show any variation. The present study suggests the use of heparin as a preferred anticoagulant for routine haematological analyses in the Persian sturgeon. However, both of these anticoagulants inflicted changes in selected biochemical parameters.

The subacute toxicity of plant hormone indoleacetic acid (IAA) was studied on Swiss albino mice. The studies include the gross general observation such as changes in body weight, hematological profiles [total count of red blood cells (RBC) and white blood cells (WBC), differential count of WBC, platelet count, hemoglobin (Hb)%], biochemical parameters of blood [serum glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (SGOT), serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase (SGPT), serum alkaline phospatase(SALP), creatinine] and histopathology of the liver, kidney, lung, spleen, heart and brain of both control and experimental day-1 for consecutive 14 days, showed no significant change of hematological and biochemical parameters. No abnormalities were also found in the histopathology of the liver, kidney, lung, spleen, heart and brain in the experimental group of animals following same dose when compared with control group. This study aimed to identify the serological and hematological changes which were associated with diarrhea in calves. The study conducts on 62 calves their age range from 1 month to 6 months. In recent years, commercial glyphosate herbicide formulations have been widely used in agriculture to control aquatic and terrestrial weeds. These pesticides may result in disruption of ecological balance, causing damage to nontarget organisms, including fish. Carassius auratus L. specimenes were exposed to glyphosate herbicide in concentration of 2.5mg/L and, respectively, 5 mg/L for 120 h, in laboratory condition. Thus, the effects of this chemical agent on both hematological parameters (hemoglobin, hematocrit, number of red blood cells) and on oxidative status indices (SOD, CAT, GPX, MDA) at Prussian carp experimental lots were analyzed. Our results showed, in comparison with the reference batch, the influence of glyphosate on the analyzed hematological and biochemical parameters, in close correlation with the administered pesticide dose.

In this study, the influence of new multi-strain synbiotics on chicken growth performance, hematology, serum biochemistry and immunity was explored. Each synbiotic preparation (A, B and C) comprised three, four or five strains of Lactobacillus sp., respectively, as well as S. cerevisiae and inulin. All strains used in the synbiotics originated from wild-type strains from animal farms in Poland. Six groups of chickens, ROSS 308 line, were fed with three different synbiotics at a dose of 0.5 g/1 kg of feed. Body weight, as well as the biochemical and hematological parameters of the animals in each study group, were determined on the 7th, 14th, 28th and 42nd day of life. Body weight on day 42 differed between groups and was the highest in control group. This group also had the highestfeed conversion ratio (FCR) value. All measured biochemical parameters were in the normal ranges for poultry; however, we observed a lower alkaline phosphatase (AP) concentration on day 7 in the groups fed with synbiotics, which correlated with a lower level of triglycerides in those groups. The aspartate transaminase (AST) concentration was significantly lower in all groups on day 42 in comparison with the control. On day 7, the control group showed the highest concentration of Ca, K and P. Other parameters did not differ significantly throughout the experiment. All groups showed a similar tendency of increase in the red blood cells (RBC) count according to the age of the birds. Every white blood cells (WBC) population showed differences in the proportions between T and B lymphocytes. The T cell and monocyte counts increased until day 28 in all groups. The results showed that our newly developed synbiotic formulas do not have any unfavorable influence on chicken health and may modulate immune response and biochemical parameters. However, this hypothesis needs to be evaluated in future experiments.

Purpose: to study hematological parameters of blood in bulls-producers of dairy breeds on the day of semen collection in the Udmurt Republic after a long winter period of operation, depending on the breeds, age and place of selection.Materials and methods. The work was performed at the Federal Research Center for Animal Husbandry named after Academy Member L. K. Ernst on the basis of AO "Udmurtplem" of the Udmurt Republic in the period from 2020 to 2021 on dairy bulls (n=20) aged 15-69 months, including a purebred Holstein breed of domestic selection (n=6), a Holstein black-and-white breed of European selection (the Netherlands, n=6), a black-and-white breed with blood transfusion on Holsteins on at the level of 94-98% (n=8). The content of white blood cells, red blood cells, hemoglobin and hematocrit, depending on age and breed, was studied on the ABC VET hematological analyzer on the day of taking the seed.Results. It was found that on average, in 20 bulls aged 15-69 months, the level of white blood cells was at the level of reference values of 8.8±0.25 x 109/l, red blood cells 10.3 x 1012/l, which is 50% more than the reference values. The concentration of hemoglobin is 128.0±2.92 g/l, hematocrit is on average 54.3%, with a norm of 24-46%. Breeding bulls at a reliable level, differing in age, showed that some animals had high indicators for red blood cells of 10.3±0.26 x 102, for hematocrit of 54.3% against 24-46% of reference values. Also, according to hematological indicators, there was a tendency to increase the concentration of hemoglobin and hematocrit in European-bred bulls.Conclusion. The study of the variability in hematological parameters depending on the selection showed that there is no significant difference in leukocytes and all indicators are at the level of reference values, and in erythrocytes more than 50% than the highest indicators. The highest hemoglobin values were at the level of 141-156 g/l instead of 128 g/l according to the highest reference values. Hematocrit also showed high max values in all groups in comparison with the reference values of 59-66% versus 46% in the norm. It is necessary when analyzing hematological blood parameters in addition to the average statistical indicators (M+m) also, monitor the variability (min-max) in order to obtain more objective information.

An experiment was carried out to test the effect of Sesame residue (SR) inclusion in the diets of growing Yankasa ram lambs on haematological and serum biochemical parameters. Twelve (12) Yankasa ram lambs with initial body weight of 20.08±3.08kg were allotted to three dietary treatments containing 0, 20 and 30% SR (A, B and C). A completely randomized design was used for the study which lasted twelve (12) weeks. The haemetology results revealed that the white blood cells (12.85-16.85 109/L), red blood cells (1.49-2.04 1012/L), haemoglobin, mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH) (39.85-48.00 pg), mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and lymphocytes differed significantly (P<0.05) among the treatments. Lambs fed 30% SR had the highest MCV, MCH, MCHC and lymphocyte values. Serum biochemical analysis results revealed that lambs fed 20% and 30% SR had higher alkaline phosphatase, total protein and globulin values than lambs fed 0%SR. However, SR inclusion in the diets did not affect calcium and phosphorus levels of the lambs. In conclusion, including sesame residue at 30% in the diets of growing Yankasa ram lambs had no observable adverse effect on haematological and serum biochemical parameters.
