In contrast to the secular economy of capitalism and socialism, Islamic Economy is the one built on syariʻah bases, norms and divine transcendent values  in the divine revelation, the al-Qurʻan and the ḥadiṡ. In order to understand the essence of syariʻah, it is necessary to conduct shifting paradigm from a literalist approach merely  focusing on textual and legal meaning to a substantialist approach seeking to capture the moral  ideas and   the original meaning of the syariʻah beyond  the text,  which are trans-historical or transcendental being  and universal (general principle).  This paradigm shifting occurs as  the text is limited while the reality is infinite. Among the substantialist  approaches offered is  the use of maqashid syariʻah and mashlaḥah.  Maqashid syariʻah refers to the essence of God's intention (Law Giver), which is the most essential formulated into five elements, they are: حفظ الدين  (the religion keeping), حفظ النفس  (the soul keeping), حفظ العقل  (the intellect keeping), حفظ النسل (descendant keeping) and المال حفظ (the wealth keeping). Then, hierarchically, maqashid in classical theory is developed into 3 levels: الضرورية  (primary needs /basic  necessity), الحاجية  (secondary needs), and التحسينية  (tertiary needs). Under the argument of maqashid syariʻah,  this Islamic economic concept must be developed, therefore  on the one hand the Islamic economy will not lose its divine morality, but on the other hand it can also develop dynamically, progressively and even ready to handle the  contemporary economic problems. Based on the explanation above, this research is focused on what is the basic philosophy that is the basis of the formulation and development of Islamic economics? This research data is library. The data collection method uses the documentation method, namely: collecting, then reviewing the data collected. After the data is collected, the data is analyzed by reducing data, presenting data in narrative form, and drawing conclusions. This study concludes that the Islamic Economy is closely related to the maqashid syariʻah namely ḥifẓ al-mal. Maqashid syariʻah is the basis for the development of the Islamic economy because it aims at the goal of creating human welfare and happiness by balancing the circulation of property fairly and balanced both personally and socially. Understanding of maqashid syariʻah is a necessity in berijtihad to answer various economic problems. Understanding of maqashid syariʻah is not only needed to formulate macroeconomic policies, but also policies that are microeconomic. In the economic context, maqashid syariʻah has a dual role, namely: as a means of control as well as a social engineering tool to realize human equality. He provides a rational philosophical basis of economic activity. Without the maqashid syariʻah, the understanding and practice of Islamic economics will be narrow, rigid, static, and slow. Islamic economics will lose the spirit and substance of its shari'a. But on the contrary, with the maqashid syariʻah the Islamic economy develops elastic, dynamic, in accordance with the character of the Shariʻah Islam which is universal and relevant for all space and time

The article aims at, on the one hand, arguing that the macroeconomic policies adopted since the Real Plan have not been able to ensure a sustainable economic growth and solve the main economic problems, such as balance of payments imbalances and structural bottlenecks. On the other hand, in the light of the Keynesian and Institutionalist approaches, it presents some economic measures to ensure macroeconomic stability, that is, sustainable economic growth, inflation under control, fiscal and external balances and income distribution.

The article analyzes the psychological basis of the theory and economic policy of libertarianism, as contained in the book by A. Greenspan "The Age of Turbulence", clarifies the strengths and weaknesses of this doctrine that led to its discredit in 2008. It presents a new understanding of liberalization in 1980-1990s as a process of institutional transformation at the micro and meso levels, implemented by politicians and entrepreneurs with predatory and opportunistic mentality. That process caused, on the one hand, the acceleration of growth, on the other hand - the erosion of informal foundations of a market system. With psychology and ideology of libertarianism, it is impossible to perceive real macro risks generated at the micro level, which lead to a systemic crisis, and to develop measures to prevent it.

The first chapter of Hieroglyphic Modernisms exposes the complex history of Western misconceptions of Egyptian writing from antiquity to the present. Hieroglyphs bridge the gap between modern technologies and the ancient past, looking forward to the rise of new media and backward to the dispersal of languages in the mythical moment of the Tower of Babel. The contradictory ways in which hieroglyphs were interpreted in the West come to shape the differing ways that modernist writers and filmmakers understood the relationship between writing, film, and other new media. On the one hand, poets like Ezra Pound and film theorists like Vachel Lindsay and Sergei Eisenstein use the visual languages of China and of Egypt as a more primal or direct alternative to written words. But Freud, Proust, and the later Eisenstein conversely emphasize the phonetic qualities of Egyptian writing, its similarity to alphabetical scripts. The chapter concludes by arguing that even avant-garde invocations of hieroglyphics depend on narrative form through an examination of Hollis Frampton’s experimental film Zorns Lemma.

The implementation ofthe capitalist system has eliminated the Islamic values in economic practice. After the financial crisis hit the world, the capitalist system reaped many questions and its greatnessbegins to be doubted. The capitalist system implementationprecisely creates new problems in the economy. The concept of individualism which is the main key in capitalist practice only creates economic injustice and misery of the poor. The only economic theory that is expected as a light in dealing with economic problems is an economic system that is able to create justice, the welfare of all parties and blessings both the world and the hereafter. The theory is the Islamic economics which in practice is inseparable from Islamiceconomic law. Islamic economic law that underlies the Islamic economic system is totally different from the capitalist economic system. Keywords: Islamic Economic Law; Islamic economics; Capitalist Economy

The Muamalah market and the use of dinars and dirhams in the community are not merely tools for buying and selling activities. However, it contains a noble goal, namely, to provide benefits to humans, especially in buying and selling activities. The phenomenon of the muamalah market seems to be the answer to concerns about the existence and monopoly activities of conventional markets (eg malls and supermarkets). The results of this study (qualitative) reveal: first, the muamalah market has been disrupted due to the inability to compete with the conventional market presence and the delay in responding to the conventional market presence, especially from the aspect of using technology. Second, the muamalah market does not yet have a fixed place. Third, the use of dinars and dirhams during their implementation does not yet have legality in their use. Fourth, the government still has not looked at the muamalah market to make an economic contribution to the country. The implication of this research is the urgency of the presence of the muamalah market and the use of dinars and dirhams. The use of technology will provide muamalah market opportunities and the use of dinars and dirhams so that they can be useful for the community. So that this can be the answer to economic problems in the community and even for the country.

The article examines the conceptual foundations and scientific, sociocultural and philosophical prerequisites of imagology, the field of interdisciplinary research in humanitaristics, the subject of which is the image of the “Other” (foreign country, people, culture, etc.). It is shown that the imagology appeared as a response to the crisis of comparatives of the mid-20th century, with a special role in the formation of its methodology played by the German comparatist scientist H. Dyserinck and his Aachen School. The article analyzes the influence on the formation of the imagology of post-structuralist and constructivist ideological-thematic complex (auto-reference of language, discursive history, construction of social reality, etc.), linguistic and cultural turn in the West in the 1960s. Shown is that, extrapolated to national issues, this set of ideas and approaches has led to a transition from the essentialist concept of the nation to the concept of a nation as an “imaginary community” or an intellectual construct. A fundamental difference in approaches to the study of an image of the “Other” in traditional comparativism and imagology, which arises from a different understanding of the nation, has been distinguished. It is concluded that the imagology studies the image of the “Other” primarily in its manipulative, socio-ideological function, i.e., as an important tool for the formation and transformation of national and cultural identity. The article identifies ideological, socio-political factors that prepared the birth of the imagology and ensured its development in western Humanities (fear of possible recurrences of extreme nationalism and fascism in post-war Europe, the EU project, which set the task of forming a pan-European identity). It is concluded that the imagology, on the one hand, has actualized an important field of scientific research — the study of the image of the “Other”, but, on the other hand, in the broader cultural and historical perspective, marked a departure not only from the traditions of comparativism and historical poetics, but also from the humanist tradition of the European culture, becoming part of a manipulative dominant strategy in the West. To the culture of “incorporation” into a “foreign word” in order to understand it, preserve it and to ensure a genuine dialogue of cultures, the imagology has contrasted the social engineering and the technology of active “designing” a new identity.

Lessons from recurring economic crises have been of particular concern to the Islamic world. Mostly Islamic countries are of middle and low-income economies that they had been inevitably suffered from extensively negative consequences caused by economic crisis such as  drastic decline in welfare. The accumulation of under-performance institution and complexity of the prevailing socio-economic problems have made recovery efforts either harder steps to take or even further distances to approach merely the pre-crisis level. Using analysis based on Islamic perspective, this paper seeks to explore on economic crises, welfare and hope for good governance would be as a fundamental resilience in times of crisis. From the elaboration of literature review which encompasses thoughts of a number of Islamic economic thinkers as well as empirical studies, Islamic countries should take all determination in good governance reform as it is directed by Islamic teaching to safeguard intact welfare of the Islamic notion of which consists of ad-din (religion), al-maal (wealths), al-aql (intellect), an-nafs (life), and  an-nasl (posterity).

Allah has given the guidance in the form of Islam for Muslim to take and lead all the aspects of life including the economic activity. The Islamic economic system is believed to be the answer of the economic problems that exist at this time. The goal is to achieve falah in kaffah by not doing some economic activities that are in violation as prescribed by Islam. For example is riba. Discourse on riba can be said "classical" both in the development of Islamic thought and in Islamic civilization because riba often occurs in all aspects of public life, especially economic transactions (in Islam called muamalah). Riba is an additional retrieval, either in a sale and purchase transaction or lending in a false or contrary to the principle of muamalah in Islam. Prohibition of riba is obtained from various sources by the Qur'an and Hadith Rasulullah SAW, so the scholars firmly and clearly defined the prohibition of riba because there are exploitative elements that can harm the others. So, this study is aimed to identif yIslamic economic system and the prohibition of riba in historical perspective. From the results of this study is expected to be a good reference for the reader to understand the Islamic economic system and riba in the future.Saran sitasi: Budiantoro, R., Sasmita, R., & Widiastuti, T.
