Overall overview of current economic situation in Russia and in the world and possible scenarios of future economic development are presented in the paper. The analysis of GDP slowdown factors shows that the fall in excess inventories, accumulated in 2007—2008, accounts for more than 2/3 of GDP reduction in Russia. It is noted that instruments used by the government are weakening each other and do not allow to achieve internal and external equilibrium simultaneously in the future. Two possible anti-crisis economic policies (which are also behind the differences in two scenarios) are considered — countercyclical and anti inflation ones, their advantages and drawbacks are examined. The conclusion is made that countercyclical policy is now more favorable, which seems also to be a government choice. Nevertheless, anti-inflation policy directed to shrink monopolies power is necessary in both scenarios.

Results. Presenting information about the current situation of backbone enterprises and monotowns in Russia, the article reveals the existence of relationships between the backbone enterprise's affiliation to a monotown with a certain socio-economic situation and the level of corporate social responsibility. Conclusions. The situation of the backbone companies is likely to deteriorate. Increasing the level of social responsibility during a crisis seems unlikely.

This review illustrates various types of polymer and nanocomposite polymeric based sensors used in a wide variety of devices. Moreover, it provides an overview of the trends and challenges in sensor research. As fundamental components of new devices, polymers play an important role in sensing applications. Indeed, polymers offer many advantages for sensor technologies: their manufacturing methods are pretty simple, they are relatively low-cost materials, and they can be functionalized and placed on different substrates. Polymers can participate in sensing mechanisms or act as supports for the sensing units. Another good quality of polymer-based materials is that their chemical structure can be modified to enhance their reactivity, biocompatibility, resistance to degradation, and flexibility.

The aim of this article is to explore the economic status and the quality of life of widows in the Nordic past, based on the evidence contained in retirement contracts. Analysis of these contracts also shows the ways in which, and when, land and the authority invested in the headship of the household were transferred between generations in the Nordic countryside. After the early eighteenth century, retirement contracts became more detailed but these should be viewed not as a sign of tension between the retirees and their successors but as a family insurance strategy designed to protect the interests of younger siblings of the heir and his or her old parents, particularly if there was a danger of the property being acquired by a non-relative. Both the retirement contracts made by couples and those made by a widow alone generally guaranteed them an adequate standard of living in retirement. Widows were assured of an adequately heated room of their own, more generous provision of food than was available to many families, clothing and the right to continue to work, for example at spinning and milking, but to be excused heavy labour. However, when the land was to be retained by the family, in many cases there was no intention of establishing a separate household.

This article reflects a comprehensive approach to assessing the effectiveness of the use of digital currency market tools based on the use of economic-statistical and general scientific dialectical methods as well as the laws and principles of formal logic. The conducted studies and recommendations are based on statistics provided by CoinMarketCap. In particular, the methodological basis includes econometric modeling tools used to assess the cryptocurrency market in order to identify its characteristic traits and features.Results. Under modern conditions, the digital currency market is considered to be one of the main transformational elements of the digital economy. The authors focus on the prerequisites for the development and implementation of the domestic digital currency as an instrument of the national monetary policy and for ensuring the financial stability of the economy as a whole. This hypothesis is confirmed by the analysis and study of the global economic situation in the international digital currency market as well as the peculiarities of the functioning of its key components.Conclusions.
