To learn more about the reality of formative assessment for English majors and how it is managed by various stakeholders, a questionnaire and interviews were used. The investigation's findings reveal a substantial lack of teacher knowledge of the nature and strengths of formative assessment. These findings also point to new ways to increase student motivation through the use of formative assessment.

The aim of this study was to identify and analyse the Islamic Education teachers’ attitudes, difficulties and purposes while using social media in the educational processes in the Saudi context. In doing so, this study adopted a quantitative, descriptive approach based on empirical data collected by means of a questionnaire. The study sample consisted of 124 teachers of Islamic Education in Hail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). While the participants reported positive attitudes towards the use of social media in the educational processes, the results showed their low use of social media which was limited mainly to personal purposes rather than using them for teaching learning activities. Based on the results, the study recommends developing teachers’ knowledge and skills to make them aware of the use of social media in education and encourage them to utilize them for teaching and learning activities. Since social media are ubiquitous and being widely used for personal reasons, their integration into the curricula and syllabi may further increase the teaching and learning of Islamic Education in Saudi Arabia.

In a context marked by fear and instability of the populations, this article describes the influence of the armed movements as well as forced displacements caused by the exactions of the Boko Haram sect on the teaching and learning in schools of refugee children in countries bordering Lake Chad. The study conducted in the Minawao External Refugee Camp and the Zamani IDP site in the Far North Region of Cameroon reveals that crisis situations have a significant impact on the teaching/learning of refugee children. This influence can be seen through the learning conditions and difficult school pathways of refugee students in the Minawao and Zamai camps. In addition, the attitudes and practices of teachers, the quality of supervision and effective monitoring of students by their parents appear as other real niches that should not be lost sight of. Thus, it would be important for all refugee students arriving in camps to benefit from continuity of appropriate school services in order to match the teaching and learning of refugee children with the education systems of Lake Chad countries.

"In the context in which the teaching, learning, and assessment processes take place in the online environment, the question arises whether the currently organized learning situations are as effective as the learning situations carried out in the classroom, before the beginning of the pandemic. One of the disadvantages of online learning is related to the teacher’s low control over students’ activity. Factors such as initiative, creativity, efficient time management, intrinsic motivation, responsibility, and intellectual curiosity play an important role in students’ success in learning activities. Attendance at courses should not be formal and superficial and should be a process that involves the active and interactive participation of the students in the learning process. Providing high-quality educational opportunities to all students is a goal that is increasingly difficult to achieve in the context of the absence of face-to-face interactions. Also, applying a curriculum focused on the needs of the learner is becoming hard to achieve. Through this research, we aim to investigate issues related to how online learning takes place and to establish ways in which we can increase the efficiency of current teaching and learning processes. The study revealed that in the opinion of most of the students, the current epidemiological context has influenced in a negative way the quality of teaching and the student-teacher educational relationship. So, learning theory is a collection of thoughts, ideas, systems in which how to practice the learning process between teacher and student and other elements related to learning activities. Learning theory itself can be interpreted as a theory that contains procedures for how a teacher applies teaching and learning activities, which will later be used to students both inside and outside the classroom.
