This study aims to examine the sediment distribution models and the stream sediment distribution due to mud disposal of Porong River. It examines how the sediment distribution models and deposition, the distribution of stream sediment due to mud disposal along with its impacts on the river's capacity, and whether the mud disposal has a harmful impact on the water quality. The data used were based on topographic and Bathymetric data of Porong River, cross-sections of the river, and terrain sediment distribution patterns. The study conducted field and secondary data analysis, hydrological analysis, oceanographic analysis of Mura River and river hydraulic analysis. The study concludes that to maintain its capacity and prevent negative impacts, it is necessary to protect the cliffs and embankments along the segment of the river. To protect the community pond area, overburden and/or river dredging activities along with the segments from the branch to the estuary of the river are needed. Furthermore, it is also necessary to add artificial inputs such as submersible Kribs that are arranged on piles to deal with problems of river sediments in the mouth of Porong River

A pesquisa trata de uma análise da relação sociedade natureza no contexto da Área de Proteção Ambiental (APA) do rio Ceará e teve como objetivo principal o estudo dos impactos negativos sofridos a partir dessa interação, descrevendo os principais problemas ocasionados pela ocupação desordenada, como a intervenção nas dunas, poluição do mangue e desmatamento da mata ciliar, os quais condicionam a mudança da dinâmica natural do ambiente causando interferências paisagísticas e biológicas no local. O aporte teórico metodológico embasa-se nas teorias clássicas pertinentes, bem como levantamento de dados secundários, trabalho de campo e a técnica de geoprocessamento para a elaboração de material cartográfico. Os resultados demonstram a urgência em inserir práticas vinculadas a educação ambiental na APA, dessa forma, o trabalho visa servir de subsídio à conscientização da necessidade de preservação deste ambiente, recomendando, assim o diálogo entre a população e os órgãos responsáveis para garantir o uso sustentável da mesma.Palavras-chave: Conservação; Educação Ambiental; Análise Geoambiental. ABSTRACTThe research deals with an analysis of the relation nature-society in the context of the APA (Ambiental Protection Area) of Ceará River and it had as main objective the study of the negative impacts suffered from this interaction, describing the main problems caused by the disordered occupation, such as the intervention in the dunes, mangrove pollution and deforestation of the riparian forest, which condition the change of the natural dynamics of the environment causing landscape and biological interferences in the place. The theoretical methodological support is based on the relevant classical theories, as well as secondary data collection, field work and the geoprocessing technique for the preparation of cartographic material. The results show the urgency to insert practices related to environmental education in the APA, so this work aims to serve as a subsidy to raise awareness of the need to preserve this environment, recommending in this way the dialogue between the population and responsible bodies to ensure sustainable use of the same. Keywords: Conservation; Environmental education; Geoenvironmental Analysis. RESUMENLa investigación aborda un análisis de la relación de la sociedad de la naturaleza en el contexto del Área de Protección Ambiental (APA) del río Ceará y su objetivo principal fue el estudio de los impactos negativos sufridos por esta interacción, describiendo los principales problemas causados por la ocupación desordenada, como el intervención en las dunas, contaminación del manglar y deforestación del bosque ribereño, que condicionan el cambio de la dinámica natural del ambiente causando interferencia biológica y paisajística en el lugar. La base teórica metodológica se basa en las teorías clásicas relevantes, así como en la recolección secundaria de datos, el trabajo de campo y la técnica de geoprocesamiento para la preparación de material cartográfico. INTRODUCTION: The prevalence and intensity of geohelminth infections and schistosomiasis remain high in the rural areas of Zona da Mata, Pernambuco (ZMP), Brazil, where these parasites still represent a significant public health problem. The present study aimed to spatially assess the occurrences of schistosomiasis and geohelminthiasis in the ZMP. METHODS: The ZMP has a population of 1,132,544 inhabitants, formed by 43 municipalities. An ecological study was conducted, using secondary data relating to positive human cases and parasite loads of schistosomiasis and positive human cases of geohelminthiasis that were worked up in Excel 2007. We used the coordinates of the municipal headquarters to represent the cities which served as the unit of analysis of this study. The Kernel estimator was used to spatially analyze the data and identify distribution patterns and case densities, with analysis done in ArcGIS software. RESULTS: Spatial analysis from the Kernel intensity estimator made it possible to construct density maps showing that the northern ZMP was the region with the greatest number of children infected with parasites and the populations most intensely infected by Schistosoma mansoni. In relation to geohelminths, there was higher spatial distribution of cases of Ascaris lumbricoides and Trichuris trichiura in the southern ZMP, and greater occurrence of hookworms in the northern/central ZMP. CONCLUSIONS: Despite several surveys and studies showing occurrences of schistosomiasis and geohelminthiasis in the ZMP, no preventive measures that are known to have been effective in decreasing these health hazards have yet been implemented in the endemic area.

The development of species distribution models (SDMs) can help conservation efforts by generating potential distributions and identifying areas of high environmental suitability for protection. Our study presents a rigorously derived distribution and habitat map for lowland tapir in South America. We also describe the potential habitat suitability of various geographical regions and habitat loss, inside and outside of protected areas network. Two different SDM approaches, MAXENT and ENFA, produced relative different Habitat Suitability Maps for the lowland tapir. While MAXENT was efficient at identifying areas as suitable or unsuitable, it was less efficient (when compared to the results by ENFA) at identifying the gradient of habitat suitability. MAXENT is a more multifaceted technique that establishes more complex relationships between dependent and independent variables. Our results demonstrate that for at least one species, the lowland tapir, the use of a simple consensual approach (average of ENFA and MAXENT models outputs) better reflected its current distribution patterns. The Brazilian ecoregions have the highest habitat loss for the tapir. Cerrado and Atlantic Forest account for nearly half (48.19%) of the total area lost. The Amazon region contains the largest area under protection, and the most extensive remaining habitat for the tapir, but also showed high levels of habitat loss outside protected areas, which increases the importance of support for proper management.

Population arrangement to islands for settlement is one of the important policies in many ways of each nation. This study was conducted to provide an understanding of the current situation and impacts of the migration to Tho Chu Island, Phu Quoc District, Kien Giang Province, Vietnam. In-depth interviews and survey questions were used to collect preliminary data on displaced people, insular living conditions, positive and negative impacts of the migration process on the socio-economic development on the island. They are also supplemented by secondary data which were collected from various sources in research process. The study shows that the migration to the island not only helps to supplement the labor force for the island, contributes to economic and labor structure restructuring on the island but also contributes to diversifying island economic activities and expand the space, enrich the cultural life of the island. However, the process of migration to the island also poses a number of problems for the people and the government on the island.

Pendahuluan : Difteri adalah suatu infeksi yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Corybacterium diphteriae, yang menyerang selaput lendir pada hidung dan tenggorokan, serta dapat mempengaruhi kulit. Penyakit ini sangat menular dan termasuk infeksi serius yang berpotensi mengancam jiwa.Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola distribusi kasus difteri di Kabupaten Bojonegoro pada tahun 2009– 2019 (Agustus 2019).Metode : Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tanggal l5 Agustus-18 September 2019 di Kabupaten Bojonegoro. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan data sekunder berupa laporan bulanan kasus difteri yang dilaporkan oleh Puskesmas atau Rumah Sakit di Wilayah kerja Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Bojonegoro dan hasil wawancara dengan Kepala Seksi Surveilans dan Imunisasi, serta Penanggungjawab Program Surveilans Difteri di Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Bojonegoro.Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan usia kasus difteri di Kabupaten Bojonegoro tertinggi terjadi pada kelompok usia 5-9 tahun (29,16%). Berdasarkan jenis kelamin sebagian besar terjadi pada jenis kelamin laki-laki (61,84%). Berdasarkan status imunisasi, kejadian difteri terjadi pada kelompok usia < 1tahun. Berdasarkan tempat, kejadian difteri di Kabupaten Bojonegoro sering terjadi di Kecamatan Bojonegoro. Berdasarkan waktu, kejadian difteri terjadi pada periode Januari-Maret dan Agustus-Desember.Kesimpulan : Kasus penyakit difteri di Kabupaten Bojonegoro dari tahun 2009 sampai dengan Agustus 2019 cenderung fluktuatif. Pada tahun 2009 hingga tahun 2012 kasus difteri di Kabupaten Bojonegoro mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dan mengalami penurunan di tahun 2013 dan 2014. Kemudian pada tahun 2015, kasus difteri mengalami peningkatan kembali dan penemuan kasus terbanyak ada di tahun 2018 yaitu sebanyak 15 kasus.Penderita difteri paling banyak adalah anak usia 5-9 tahun yaitu sebanyak 21 anak. Beberapa penderita difteri memiliki riwayat imunisasi yang tidak lengkat maupun yang tidak pernah imunisasi sama sekali. Sedangkan penemuan kasus difteri terbanyak sering terjadi pada laki-laki.ABSTRACTBackground: Diphtheria is an infection caused by the Bacterium Corybacterium diphteriae, which attacks the mucous membranes of the nose and throat,then can affect the skin. This disease is very contagious and includes serious infections that are potentially life-threatening. Objectives: This study to analyze the distribution patterns of diphtheria cases in Bojonegoro Regency in 2009 - 2019 (August 2019). Methods This research was conducted on August 5-September 18, 2019 in Bojonegoro Regency. This research is a descriptive study using secondary data in the form of monthly reports of diphtheria cases reported by Puskesmas or Hospitals in the Work Area of the Bojonegoro District Health Office and the results of interviews with the Head of the Surveillance and Immunization Section, and the Person in Charge of the Diphtheria Surveillance Program at the Bojonegoro District Health Office. Result: The results showed that the highest age of diphtheria cases in Bojonegoro District occurred in the 5-9 years age group (29.16%). Based on sex, the majority occurred in male sex (61.84%). Based on immunization status, the incidence of diphtheria occurs in the age group <1 year. Based on location, diphtheria events in Bojonegoro Regency often occur in Bojonegoro District. By time, diphtheria events occurred in the January-March and August-December periods. Conclusions: Cases of diphtheria in Bojonegoro Regency from 2009 to August 2019 tended to be volatile. In 2009 until 2012 diphtheria cases in Bojonegoro Regency experienced a significant increase and decreased in 2013 and 2014. Then in 2015, diphtheria cases increased again and the most cases found were in 2018 which were 15 cases. The most diphtheria sufferers many are children aged 5-9 years, as many as 21 children. Some diphtheria sufferers have a history of immunizations that are not complete or have never been immunized at all. Whereas most cases of diphtheria are often found in men.

Abstrak. Alih fungsi lahan atau lazimnya disebut sebagai konversi lahan adalah  perubahan fungsi sebagian atau seluruh kawasan lahan dari fungsinya semula (seperti yang direncanakan) menjadi fungsi lain yang membawa dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan dan potensi lahan itu sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah harga lahan, kepadatan penduduk, produktivitas padi dan jumlah PDRB dapat mempengaruhi alih fungsi lahan sawah di Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data time series dengan range tahun 2002 sampai 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis  regresi linier berganda. hasil penelitian dan pembahasan serta pengujian SPSS menunjukkan bahwa harga lahan, kepadatan penduduk, dan produktivitas padi berpengaruh nyata terhadap alih fungsi lahan sawah di Kabupaten Aceh Besar. sedangkan jumlah PDRB tidak berpengaruh terhadap alih fungsi lahan sawah. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh koefisien regresi untuk variabel jumlah PDRB sebesar 0,00015. Hasil pengujian statistik menunjukkan nilai t hitung untuk jumlah PDRB sebesar 1,315 dengan nilai signifikan sebesar 0,218. Sedangkan nilai t tabel sebesar 1,782 yang berarti nilai t hitung t tabel (1,315 1,782).  Factors Affecting The Conversion Of Paddy Fields In Kabupaten Aceh Besar Abstract. Land use change or commonly referred to as land conversion is a change in the function of part or all of the land area from its original function (as planned) into other functions that bring negative impacts to the environment and the potential of the land itself. This study aims to find out whether the price of land, population density, rice productivity and the amount of GRDP can affect the conversion of rice field functions in Aceh Besar District. The data used in this research is secondary data. The data collected is time series data with range of year 2002 until 2016. This research use multiple linier regression analysis method. the results of research and discussion and testing of SPSS showed that land price, population density, and rice productivity significantly affected the conversion of wetland in Aceh Besar district. while the number of GDP does not affect the conversion of wetland. This is indicated by the regression coefficient for the GRDP variable of 0.00015. The results of statistical tests show the value of t arithmetic for the amount of GRDP by 1.315 with a significant value of 0.218. While the value of t table of 1.782 which means the value of t arithmetic t table (1,315 1.782).

Earthquake and tsunami disasters always bring negative impacts and losses for humans. The high frequency of earthquake disasters in Sulawesi and the massive impact of destruction and damage to infrastructure, loss of homes and property, and death of people are partly due to the lack of knowledge of this potential disaster by the surrounding community. Therefore, it is necessary to study the potential for earthquake and tsunami disasters on Sulawesi Island, and Lesson Learned about the Earthquake Disaster that has occurred in past. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis design of secondary data obtained through a comprehensive literature review. The results showed that Sulawesi Island has a high potential for earthquake disasters, which is in the historical records of disasters, some of these earthquakes were accompanied by tsunami waves. The lesson that can be drawn from the earthquake in West Sulawesi is the potential for aftershocks after the opening earthquake and the main earthquake. In addition, the urgency of building earthquake-resistant housing structural mitigation is the key to safety during an earthquake. The post-earthquake recovery program in West Sulawesi requires further studies related to soil classification surveys, soil dominant periods, and soil seismic vulnerability index, as part of rebuilding a better and safer post-disaster area.

Geochemical maps and geochemical cross-sections, based on chemical analyses of the < 0.1 mm fraction of stream sediment samples collected at a density of approximately 1 sample per 30 km2 in central and western North Greenland, show that the distribution patterns for the major elements and some trace elements reflect the main lithological units of the North Greenland Palaeozoic platform and trough. By contrast the distribution patterns for S and Sr are different. High S values are correlated with zones of tectonic activity and are thought to indicate migration of H2S along faults. High Sr values are correlated with evaporitic rocks in the platform sequence and with deep sea carbonates. High BaO values occurring along the Silurian platform margin and in the Ordovician platform-slope sequence are the result of Ba enrichment in the sedimentary environment, combined with epigenetic vein-type baryte mineralisation.

Pakistan is exposed to various natural calamities due to its geophysical condition and climatic changes. In addition, man-made disasters also pose a threat to human lives and properties which includes industrial and transport disasters including oil spills, civil unrest, wars and conflicts. Although it is not possible to stop or prevent natural disasters, but the negative impacts of natural disasters can be minimized through human efforts. The government of Pakistan has adopted participatory approach as part of its policy for disaster management. This research paper is based on the analysis of secondary data for reviewing the existing policies with emphasis on disaster risk reduction in pre and post disaster period. The paper concludes that participation of target community is indispensable for disaster risk reduction on sustainable basis. The article suggests that community should be meaningfully involved in disaster risk reduction efforts at the local level. In this connection the role of social workers is indispensable for disaster risk reduction on sustainable basis.
