The use of slogans in the advertisements to introduce and to attract public’s attention upon the products advertised are essential. The use of morpho-phonemic forms as the morphological process in the Indonesian advertisements’ slogans nowadays are interesting to be analyzed since there are lots of them use unique forms to attract public’s attention upon the product. The public’s attention upon the advertisements would influence the level of public’s awareness upon the product and eventually would raise the number of purchase and the usage of the product offered. This research explained the forms of the morphological process used in the Indonesian advertisement’s slogans, and the purposes of the morphological process used in the Indonesian advertisement’s slogans. Based on O'Grady and Dobrovolsky’s theories, this research uses descriptive qualitative method by observing and documenting the forms of morpho-phonemic changing which are used in Indonesian slogans, continued by analyzing the data. The objects of the study were the texts in advertisement’s slogans. The sources of the data were the Indonesian advertisement’s slogans from various types of product, which were aired or published in Indonesia. The forms of the morpho-phonemic changing were studied based on morphological processes in morphology. Slogans should attract the attention from public upon the product advertised to consume or to use it. It is hope that these findings will be useful for the development of language use especially in advertising.

Abstract: The current study entitled “A Morphological Analysis of Slang Words Used by Characters In Ralph Breaks the Internet Movie” aimed to investigate the morphological processes of constructing slang words and its meaning of the  found slang words used by the movie characters. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with content analysis design. The findings revealed that there are 42 slang words categorized into different morphological processes included compound (14,28%), clipping (11,90%), blending (14,28%), affixations (16,66%), reduplicative (7,14%), backformation (2,4%), abbreviation (2,4%), conversion (4,76%), alternation (14,28%), extension (4,76%) and word manufacture (7,14%). This study demonstrated the meaning changes of the slang words that have been affected through certain morphological processes by modifying their word category. Consequently, some slang terms have preserved the original meaning despite the changes in their spelling. In the meantime, certain slang words get abbreviated or shortened and retained their original meaning. Meanwhile, some slang words change their meaning by deriving their word category. Besides, there were certain slang words that change their meaning depending on word usage.Key words: morphology, Ralph Breaks the Internet, slangAbstrak. Penelitian yang berjudul “Analisis Morfologi Kata-kata Slang yang Digunakan oleh karakter dalam Film ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’” bertujuan untuk menelaah proses morfologi dalam membangun kata-kata slang dan maknanya yang digunakan dalam film tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan desain analisis isi. Data temuan menunjukkan  42 kata slang yang dikategorikan ke dalam proses morfologi yang berbeda, yaitu ‘compound’ (14,28%), ‘clipping’ (11,90%), ‘blending’ (14,28%). , ‘affixations’ (16,66%), ‘reduplicative’ (7,14%), ‘backformation’ (2,4%), ‘abbreviation’ (2,4%), ‘conversion’ (4,76%), ‘alternation’ (14,28%), ‘extension’ (4,76%) dan ‘word manufacture’ (7,14%). Studi ini mendemonstrasikan perubahan makna dari kata-kata slang yang telah dipengaruhi proses morfologi tertentu dengan memodifikasi kategori kata asal. Hasilnya beberapa istilah dalam kata slang tetap mempertahankan makna aslinya meskipun ejaannya berubah. Sementara itu, kata-kata slang tertentu disingkat dan tetap mempertahankan arti aslinya. Beberapa kata slang lainnya berubah makna dengan mengubah kategori katanya. ABSTRACTThis research has a purpose to describe a morphological process called abbreviation. Abbreviation is a shortened form of a written word or phrase used in place of the whole word or phrase. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data are tweets in French which were taken on November 10 from Twitter. Overall, from the tweets those were found, there are twenty tweets which contain some words in abbreviated form. The result shows that there are five kinds of abbreviations that exist in those forty tweets, there are apocope, aphérèse, syncope, siglè, and acronyme. The most used abbreviation form is apocope which can be found in 14 tweets, meanwhile the least used one is aphérèse which is available in 4 of forty tweets.

This study examines the lingual forms especially the morphological process and the lingual form of sentences based on the communicative values contained in the meme of the whatsapp group. The things discussed will reveal the lingual forms of words and sentences in meme on whatsapp group. This study aims to identify, classify, and analyze the lingual forms in meme on whatsapp group. This research is descriptive qualitative with a linguistic approach. The method of data collection uses the referred method. The method of data analysis uses a matching method with basic and advanced techniques. The results of the study show that there are six lingual forms of words according to the morphological processes in the meme of the whatsapp group, which consist of zero derivation, affixation (prefix, suffix, confix, and combination of affixes), reduplication (dwilingga and dwiwasana), abbreviation (decapitation, abbreviation, contractions, and acronyms), composition, and reverse derivation. The result of the study of the lingual sentence shows that there are four types of sentences, namely declarative sentences, interrogative sentences (total and partial interrogatives), imperative sentences (common imperatives, requests, invitation, and imperative), and empathic sentences in meme on whatsapp group.Keywords: shapes, lingual, words, sentences, memes

Abstract: This research entitled "Negation Affixes in English". This study is aimed to describe the various negation affixes in English, morphological process, morphophonemic and meaning. The research data were taken from various sources of English grammar book, morphology, research journal and the book which relatees to the research. English grammar books used in this study are written by Otto Jesperson, Marcella Frank, Greenbaum and Geoffrey Leech.  The method used in this research is the descriptive-qualitative method. While the data collection techniques are performed by using jot-down method. And the results of analysis are presented in tabular form and descriptive method. The result of the research shows that English has six types of negative affixes which are categorized by the intensity of its appearance, such as dis-, in-, non-, un-, anti- and -less. Based on the function, negation affixes are divided into several categories such as adjectives, nouns, verbs, and adverbs. The morphophonemic affix in- has four allomorphs, they are in-, im-, il- and ir- . While the analysis revealed that negation affixes have some basic meanings, such as ‘not’, ‘without’, and ‘anti’.

This research was created based on concerning the importance of efficient language use. The language use can be called efficient if the message is clear, unambiguous and can be understood by both speaker and hearer. Cooperative principles proposed by Grice (1975) explained the way people use the language well and efficiently. There are at least four maxims that should be followed in order to have achieve connection during conversation which are 1) maxim of manner, 2) maxim of quantity, 3) maxim of quality, and 4) maxim of manner. In fact, there are several maxim violations happened in human life especially figured in the movie. The maxim violations may cause misunderstanding while the conversation is going on. This paper aims to analyze the maxim violations that exist in the movie titled Night at the Museum 1. It uses descriptive qualitative method with pragmatics identity analysis. The findings show that maxim of manner and quantity are the dominant maxims which are violated.

This research aims to discuss the morphological process of Bugis language during the period of the seventh king of Bone kingdom. Data of this research is a work of literature from Bone kingdom titled Latoa. This research is descriptive qualitative involving the word-structure rules which attempt to analyze words presented in Latoa. The results show that there are some features marking morphological processes of Bugis language in the sixteenth century. The morphological processes consist of reduplication and affixation. processes of reduplication of Bugis' language are divided into two patterns, those are the reduplication of entire stem and affixing reduplication. Where affixation of Bugis language expresses derivational meanings and inflectional values; the forms of prefixes that are derived from derivational processes are to-, ri- whereas the form of suffixes derived from derivational processes are i, -e, -reng, and na and the form of suffixes expressing inflectional values is na.

<p>In terms of beauty or aesthetic aspect which contained in the choice of words of a poet, is an actualization of ideas  or concepts  that attracted of  readers.  Script is a literary work originating from the thinking process of each local poet to actualize his or her ideas and concepts. In relation with the contents packed with the beauty of language use, this research focuses its studies on the Javanese script with <em>piwulang</em> (doctrine) category, namely: <em>Sêrat Ciptan Sabên Esuk</em>. The objectives of this research are to explain: (1) the peculiarity of language sounds aspects, (2) the peculiarity of the utilization of archaic forms. This research used the descriptive qualitative method. The sources of the data were the transliterated script of <em>Sêrat Ciptan Sabên Esuk</em> by Teja in 2014 and its original one. The data included assonance, alliteration, and repetition; the use of archaic forms. The data of research were collected through listening and recording techniques and analyzed by extralingual similirity method. The result of research shows that in the script of <em>Sêrat Ciptan Sabên Esuk</em>, which is in the prose form, are found the use of  assonances, and archaic forms which generally found in poetry (javanese song).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>Keywords</strong>: <em>Sêrat Ciptan Sabên Esuk</em>, the peculiarity of language sounds, and archaic forms of words.</p>

This study aimed to investigate the teenagers’ perception towards language use in advertisement. Advertisement is the best way to communicate to the customers. Advertisement helps informs the customers about the brands available in the market and the variety of products useful to them. Advertisement is for everybody including kids, young and old. It is done using various media types, with different techniques and methods most suited. Advertisements are of great importance for any business activity as it attracts people to use the particular service. Most of the businessmen are using various different means of communication to reach people around the world and turn them into leads that can be further turned into potent customers. Visual content and design in advertising have a very great impact on the consumer, but it is language that helps people to identify a product and remember it. The research is done by means of descriptive qualitative method supported by questionnaire in data collection procedures. The results show that the perceptions of teenagers towards advertisements are the language used is simple and easy to remember and advertisements functions as reminder.

<em>This study focused on the discussion of Sanggau Malay verbs related to the formation of verbs or morphological processes, the meaning of verbs related to the user community, and with the context behind the emergence of verbs in the language. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with sociomorphosemantic approach. The data in this research is informant speech reflecting the formation of verbs, meanings, and verb functions in Sanggau Malay language. The data source in this research is Sanggau Malay language which is spoken by Sanggau Malay society. Data collection techniques in this study using techniques of observation, recording, and interviews. Based on the results and discussionfaund that the verbs in the Sanggau Malay seen from the morphology process divided into two, namely the establishment of affix verb derived verbs and verbs duplicate. The verb consists of prefixes, suffixes, and confixes which have intentional, active, and passive meanings. The formation of duplicated verbs is a reduplicated type of affixtion. The use of Sanggau Malay verbs in relation to the language user community exists in situations or family contexts, joking contexts, and circumstances contexts.</em>

The goals of this research were to identify the allomorph of morpheme {buN-}, describe its affixation process, and determine the function of the allomorphs. The qualitative method was applied to gather the data from an informant who was done by recording technique on the field research. The informant was a Bidayuh-Somu language native speaker. The collected data included the derivational words derived from free morpheme that was root, base, and bound morpheme. The free and bound morpheme were then sorted into nominal and verbal class, as well as described qualitatively. Affixation as one of the morphological processes to derive complex derivational word in Bidayuh-Somu Language involved free and bound morpheme. Morpheme {buN-} was chosen as an example to describe the process of affixation in deriving complex derivational word of the language. It is found that the morpheme {buN-} is a prefix and verbal, affixed to the verb, and noun and adjective. Therefore, it functions both as class-maintaining and class-changing. Moreover, it is identified that the morpheme {buN-} has five allomorphs, namely /bu-/ with its alternant /bur-/ and /b-/, and /bum-/, /bun-/, /buN-/ and /bu-/. The morpheme {buN-} is affixed to free morpheme which is initiated with all consonant and vowel phonemes. The morpheme {buN-}also bears meanings
