Background. Student reasoning in learning mathematics contributes significantly to the achievement of student mathematics learning outcomes. The main objective of this study is to investigate the process of reversible reasoning in students for inverse problems, in the case of Adjie (Ad). The research method used to reveal the reversible reasoning in Adjie's case using descriptive qualitative research methods. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling technique where the research sample was selected based on reversible reasoning criteria. Retrieval research data uses the results of students' mathematical work, think aloud, interviews, and the components that cause reversible reasoning. The results of our study found that the process begins with an obstacle that causes Ad to be unable to continue the resolution process, resulting in a metacognition process by analyzing the problem again analytically and developing other heuristic strategies. Ad shows a change in perspective where he initially interpreted inverse as the act of swapping independent and dependent variables and switched to interpreting inverse as the opposite of a function process involving analogy and image representation. The contribution of this research provides knowledge that reversible reasoning can occur in understanding and solving mathematical problems in inverse material.

Student's enthusiasm and interest in learning mathematics are factors that influence learning outcomes. Where in the application of problem-based learning models on trigonometric material that aims to improve learning outcomes, but in the application process will also appear the activeness of students during the learning process takes place. This is intended to supplement the problem-based learning process in stages, including: understanding the problem, making a solution plan, implementing the plan, and reviewing the results obtained. From these stages there will also appear student activity and interest in the mathematics learning process which certainly contributes to learning outcomes. So the purpose of the study is to determine the effect of activeness and interest in student learning outcomes on trigonometry subjects through problem-based learning models. This research was designed using the One-Shot Case Study design. In this design there is only one group treated. The population in this study were all students of SMA Negeri 15 Semarang. With the sampling technique in this study using the Random sampling technique, obtained a sample of students in class X 7. In conducting students' learning activities that do not always work, there are often things that cause failure. The study aims to describe the difficulties students have experienced and to study the mistakes of the students in working on the tests in mathematics learning on the set subject. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive with a case study approach. Data collection techniques with problem instruments, interviews, and documentation. The legitimacy of data using technique triangulation. Data analysis through the data reduction phase, data presentation, and withdrawal of conclusions. The research was conducted with the subject of his research 30 students. The results showed that the type of difficulties experienced by students in the form of 1) difficulty in understanding the problem is the inability of the students to interpret the mathematical symbols on the subject of the set, 2) difficulty transforming that is the inability of students determining the set formula, 3) difficulty in the completion process is that students are not able to perform binary counting operations to solve the set problem. Then it can be concluded the types of difficulty learning mathematics that students experience in the subject of the association can be classified into 3 types, namely difficulty in understanding the problem, difficulty transforming the problem, and difficulty solving problems.

Mathematics until today is still considered a difficult subject so that it needs to think about appropriate strategies to encourage students to be able to regulate themselves in learning this subject. This study aimed to test empirically the role of classroom management and mastery goal orientation towards self-regulated learning. The participants of the study were 177 students of state high schools in Sleman, who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The scales used were self-regulation of mathematics learning scale, classroom management scale, and mastery goal orientation scale. The data analysis using two-predictor regression analysis showed that classroom management and mastery goal simultaneously played a significant role by 68.7% (R2=0.687, F (2.177) =191.243, p<0.01). Classroom management predicted self-regulation (β= -0.130, p < 0.01), and so did mastery goal (β= 0.878, p < 0.01). Based on the results of this study, it could be concluded that self-regulation in learning Mathematics can be determined through classroom management and mastery goals concurrently.
