Topicality of the research is seen in interaction of Japan and Russia regarding the international cooperation of the Pacific Rim countries and rising of discussions timed to declared year of Japan in Russia. At the heart of the research is a comparative analysis of reception of individualism of these two cultures. The problems of the research are considered through the examination of egocentric intensions which underlie semantic crises. The researcher resorts estrangement the traditions among young people environment and voluntary solitude or withdrawal to long state of loneliness. The author analyses widespread phenomena of hikikomori which is defined as a need of individual to avoid social relations. In Russian young people society (the group below twenty years old) the adaptation of forms voluntary rejection of traditional group relations and an imitation of practices in Internet communities is becoming perceptible. The analysis of resemblances and differences of motivations of young people that orient on so to be called “western values”, factors that influence the development of studied social moods are mentioned, predictions regarding adaptations of some elements of Japanese youth culture by Russian young people at present time is made.

For the state of Washington's one-hundredth birthday, in 1989, Native peoples there decided to revive a distinctive mode of transportation—long-distance journeys by canoe—along with an entire culture associated with it. Born as the "Paddle to Seattle," during the past two decades these canoe journeys have become a summertime staple for Native peoples as well as for thousands of non-Indians who follow the "pullers" in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia. The Tribal Canoe Journey has become a metaphor for community, drawing peoples together over a large area. The annual Canoe Journey also represents a revival of indigenous culture and, to some extent, indigenous languages. The canoe journeys (and the land-based events associated with them) might be compared with powwows in other areas. The carving of canoes has been revived, along with the structures of canoe families that maintain them, along with songs, clothing, and other aspects of traditional culture. The Tribal Canoe Journey is neither a race nor a contest, although it is something of a feat of physical endurance, recalling a time when canoes were one of the central attributes of Coast Salish cultures. Canoes were vital for the gathering of much of people's food, the conduct of social relations, and the waging of war. Like many maritime peoples around the world, seaborne transport framed culture and invoked deep spiritual beliefs in life and death. Canoe culture also teaches respect for ancestors' survival skills to city-bred youth, forging bonds between generations. Young people are learning how to get along with others and how to stay clean and sober during journeys in which they represent their peoples. The young people also learn how to deal with conflicts that arise from living in close quarters and pulling canoes for hours at a time, day after day. The Tribal Canoe Journey thus revives culture while sustaining and improving modern Native life in the Pacific Northwest.

This article examines the socio-economic implications that the controversial sub-culture of skhothane has on the development or underdevelopment of youth at Ekurhuleni and surrounding townships. It interrogates skhothane within the post-modern expressive youth culture. In the township(s) of Ekurhuleni, skhothane is regarded not only as a controversial sub-culture but also as a lifestyle whereby young people compete in acquiring material goods with the ultimate purpose of destroying them. This practice co-exists alongside youth unemployment and underdevelopment which is exacerbated by poverty, rising unemployment and gross inequalities. The author argues that the practice of skhothane sub-culture does not only undermine the policies and programmes aimed at the socio-economic upliftment of young people, but turns the youth into materialistic consumers. In this article, young people are viewed as victims of post-modern lifestyles who are socialised under an intergenerational culture of poverty and underdevelopment. It uses primary data from selected interviews with skhothane members and general members of local communities and secondary sources from books, accredited journals and newspapers.

Everyone knows that phraseological units are the most popular genre of oral folk art, which was formed as a result of life observations of the ancestors. Learning and analyzing Chinese phraseology allow us to better understand the inner world of the Chinese nation. This article reveals and semantically analyzes aspects of the word “head” that are closely related to Chinese culture. The worldview, deep logical thoughts, feelings, superstitions, lifestyle and environment of the Chinese people are described in phraseological expressions in a concise and clear form. This article discusses the semantics and features of Chinese-language phraseological phrases associated with the word “head”. Chinese-language phrases associated with “head” express meanings such as wisdom and ignorance, process of thinking, cunning,sagacity, and planning. Phraseological units in Chinese linguistics are closely related to practical life and determine such features as philosophical and ideological thinking, logical observation. Taking into account the above, the article provides a comparative analysis of phraseological units related to “head” in Chinese and Uzbek languages. The figurative meanings of the word “head” are being revealed, semantic connections and semantic structure of phrases in the sentence are in the process of learning. Chinese phraseological expressions are poorly studied in Uzbek-Chinese studies. We hope that this work will provide practical assistance to our young people who are learning Chinese.

Epiclassic occupants of the site of La Quemada left the disarticulated remains of 11-14 humans in an apparently sacred structure outside the monumental core of the site. Several lines of evidence are reviewed to generate propositions about the ritual meanings and functions of the bones. A comparative analysis reveals the complexity of mortuary practices in northern and western Mexico, and permits the suggestion that these particular remains were those of revered ancestors or community members. The sacred structure is seen as a charnel house, in which the more ancient tradition of ancestor worship expressed in shaft tombs was essentially perpetuated above ground. Hostile social relations are clearly suggested, however, by other categories of bone deposits. Recognition of the rich variability of mortuary displays leads to questions about their role in the maintenance of the social order.

O eixo de atenção deste artigo é o conceito de eXtremo, de Massimo Canevacci, autor, cujas ideias inovadoras, e por que não dizer radicais, têm trazido boas contribuições para pesquisas sobre as juventudes, na interface comunicação/cultura/consumo na contemporaneidade. Trata-se também de uma perspectiva em plena discussão. Porque a temática juventude, destacada em inúmeras pesquisas, estudos, em incontáveis artigos, ensaios e livros que cada vez se proliferam mais, dada a sua crescente relevância, vem sendo abordada sob a perspectiva de vários campos do saber, gerando múltiplas possibilidades de percepção e teorização. Assim, estamos concordando com uma linha de pesquisadores, entre eles Canevacci, que caminham pelo terreno do múltiplo, do plural, envolvendo aspectos sócio-culturais-econômicos-geográficos que falam não de um jovem, mas de jovens; não de uma juventude, mas de juventudes. No limite deste trabalho, ficamos por aqui nesta justificativa para nos dedicar especificamente ao conceito de eXtremo e porque ele se mostra elemento-chave nas discussões que estamos proponho em nossas pesquisas em andamento sobre as juventudes, a cultura na pós-modernidade e os desafios à educação.   PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Juventudes; pós-modernidade; educação.     ABSTRACT The focus of this article is the concept of extreme, from Massimo Canevacci, author, whose innovative ideas, and why not say radicals, have brought good contributions to research on youth, at the interface communication / culture / consumption in the contemporary world.It is also a perspective in full discussion. Because the thematic youth, highlighted in countless researches, studies, countless articles, essays and books that are increasingly proliferating, given their increasing relevance, has been approached from the perspective of several fields of knowledge, generating multiple possibilities of perception and theorizing. Thus, we are agreeing with a line of researchers, among them Canevacci, who walk through the terrain of multiple, plural, involving socio-cultural-economic-geographical aspects that speak not of a young person but of young people; not of a youth but of youth. At the limit of this work, we remain here in this justification to dedicate ourselves specifically to the concept of eXtreme and because it is a key element in the discussions that we are proposing in our ongoing research about youth, culture in postmodernity and the challenges to education.   KEYWORDS: Youth; postmodernity; education.     RESUMEN El eje de atención de este artículo es el concepto de eXtremo, de Massimo Canevacci autor, cuyas ideas innovadoras, y por qué no decir radicales, han traído buenos aportes para investigaciones sobre las juventudes, en el interfaz comunicación/cultura/consumo en la contemporaneidad. Se trata también de una perspectiva en plena discusión. Porque la temática juventud, destacada en innúmeras pesquisas, estudios, en incontables artículos, ensayos y libros que cada vez se proliferan más, dada su creciente relevancia, viene siendo abordada bajo la perspectiva de varios campos del saber, generando múltiples posibilidades de percepción y teorización. Así, estamos concordando con una línea de investigadores, entre ellos Canevacci, que caminan por el terreno del múltiple, del plural, involucrando aspectos socioculturales-económicos-geográficos que hablan no de un joven, pero de jóvenes; no de una juventud, pero de juventudes. The present report addresses a topic that is a key factor for the quality of the education in universities. The outcome this education depends on the degree of students’ academic motivation and results in their readiness for certain profession. The material presents the results from a study conducted in the period 2016-2019 among 45 students in their second and third year of studies in the subject „Physical Education and Sport“ at the Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“ Faculty of Science, Education and Arts and 39 students also studying „Physical Education“ but at the National Sports Academy „Vasil Levski“ Faculty of Pedagogy. As a research tool, was used a questionnaire designed for determining the academic motivation, developed by Angel Velichkov. The questionnaire contained 11 questions, of which 7 with positive and 4 with negative direction. The assessment was done through the 4-point Likert scale, where 0 is „completely disagree” and 3 is „completely agree”. In his work A. Velichkov places the degree of academic motivation within the following limits: 0-11 points – lack of academic motivation; 12-18 points – weak motivation; 19-24 points – moderate motivation, 25-33 points – strong academic motivation. The summaries are made both on universities and on each individual indicator for academic motivation, including: „Active attitude to the learning process“, „Internal self-discipline“ and „Strive to complement and broaden the obtained knowledge“. To determine the priorities of young people, we divided their statements that received the highest percentage of opinions „agree“ on the positively formulated questions and „disagree“ on the negative ones. The comparative analysis shows that the overall degree of academic motivation is not high among students from both Universities. However, students in both universities are convinced that active involvement in the learning process is required. Students are aware of the importance of the theoretical background they need to acquire during their studies. They are motivated to gain lasting knowledge and excellence in all subjects studied. Young people indicate that they complement and broaden their knowledge by seeking additional information and by consultations with university professors.

We report here the complete genome sequence of the widely studied Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae serovar 8 reference strain 405, generated using the Pacific Biosciences (PacBio) RS II platform. Furthermore, we compared draft sequences generated by Illumina sequencing of six stocks of this strain, including the same original stock used to generate the PacBio sequence, held in different countries and found little genetic variation, with only three SNPs identified, all within the degS gene. However, sequences of two small plasmids, pARD3079 and p405tetH, detected by Illumina sequencing of the draft genomes were not identified in the PacBio sequence of the reference strain.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 24pt 36pt;"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-CA;"><span style="color: #131413; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;">Drawing from Bourdieu’s theories on habitus, capital, and field, this article explores the complex relationship between social context and youth’s aspirations and perceptions of the future. Based on findings from interviews we conducted with young people in two distinct communities in British Columbia, Canada, we undertook a comparative analysis of the ways in which class and place influence young people’s “imagined futures”. Our findings suggest that family plays an instrumental role in shaping youth’s aspirations in both locations. Perceptions regarding opportunity and mobility varied greatly between the communities, and appeared to be influenced by racialized and gendered inequalities. A few youth had aspirations that resided outside of the narrative parameters mapped out by their peers. We explore the implications of these perspectives for community-level strategies aiming to improve young people’s future trajectories, which could have positive impacts on their current and future health and wellbeing. While Bourdieu’s theories do not explicitly consider adolescent-specific capital, we found them to be helpful in making sense of youth’s narratives about their futures.</span></span></p>
