The research targets are (1) to describe the teacher's level of understanding about Discovery Learning model-based worksheet (2) to find solutions to solve teacher problem about worksheet development (3) to find out the level of student achievement (4) to find solutions regarding to low students’ learning achievement. The participants of this research are Biology teachers at SMAN 6, SMAN 14, SMAN 4 and SMAN 3 Samarinda. The results of this study were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The results of this study indicate that (1) The teachers’ understanding about the development of Discovery Learning-based Biology worksheet is still inadequate so that worksheet application was not optimal in teaching and learning process. (2) The teachers still experience some difficulties in synthesising worksheet, thus teachers need more explanations and references in the development of Discovery Learning model-based worksheet. (3) The students’ learning achievement are not optimal, (4) Teachers’ guidance is the best solution to improve the students’ achievement.Key Words: Problem analysis, Worksheet, Discovery Learning, students’ achievement Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  melakukan analisis kebutuhan pengembangan LKS biologi pada materi sistem peredaran darah berbasis model Discovery Learning di SMA Negeri Samarinda. This study was conducted to find out the effect of discovery learning on student’s metacognitive awareness and cognitive learning achievement. The population of this research was all of the 11th grade MS (Mathematics and Science Program) students of Sumberejo 1 Senior High School. The research sample were students of 11th MS-1 and MS-3 class taken by cluster random sampling technique. This study was quasi-experimental with Pretest Post-test Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. In this study, student’s metacognitive awareness was measured by using MAI (Metacognitive Awareness Inventory) and SEMLI-S (Self-Efficacy and Metacognition Learning Inventory—Science). Meanwhile, student’s cognitive learning achievement was measured by using cognitive test. The data were analyzed statistically by independent sample t-test respectively at 5% significance level. The results showed that the discovery learning model significantly influenced student’s metacognitive awareness and cognitive learning achievement with significant value of each were 0,000. Through this research, we found that the discovery learning model significantly influenced student’s metacognitive awareness and cognitive learning achievement rather than discussion method.

This study aims to determine students’ learning activeness and improve students' English learning achievement after using Think Pair Share model. The research method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (Action Reseach) using 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: design, activity and observation, reflection. The instruments used was the observation sheets of teaching and learning activeness and English test. The research results of students' English learning activeness could be seen from the indicators: a) asking questions, ideas or pre-cycle responses 22.86% in the first cycle 45.57% and in the second cycle 96.67%. b) answer the pre-cycle questions 17.14% in the first cycle 45.71% and in the second cycle 71.43%. c) do the tasks and dare to advance in front of the pre-cycle class 25.71% in the first cycle 51.43% and in the second cycle 74.28%. d) refute or approve other students’ pre-cycle 11.43% cycle I 40% and cycle II 65.71%. Then, the results of students’ learning achievement in English could be seen from the indicator of the average value of students has increased in each cycle in the cycle average of student scores of 56.53 then in the first cycle to 67.84 and in the second cycle of 81, 31. The results showed that there were improvement of students’ activities and English achievement of the ninth grade students of SMP Negeri Maur through the think pair share learning model. Therefore, the use of think pair share learning model could increase the activeness and achievement of students' English learning in SMPN Maur in the academic year of 2019/2020.   Keywords: Active learning, learning achievement, think pair share.

The implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) based on lesson study aimed to determine its effect on the biology learning achievement of high school students. This referred to quasi-experimental research by applying CTL learning based on lesson study to the experimental class and conventional learning in the control class. The population in this study amounted to 286 students (Science X class students of SMA Negeri 2 Jember). The sample in this study was determined through homogeneity test, normality test, and random sampling to determine the control class and the experimental class. The students' affective learning achievement was analyzed by using the independent sample t-test, while their cognitive learning achievement was analyzed by using ANAKOVA test. Based on the test results of the independent sample t-test, it was found that the students' affective learning achievement differed significantly between the students in experimental class and control class. Based on the results of ANAKOVA test, it was known that the application of CTL learning based on Lesson Study has a significant effect on students' cognitive learning achievement.

The objectives of this research are to: 1) determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on cognitive learning outcomes; and 2) to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' scientific literacy. This type of research is a quasi experiment. The research design of pre-test-post-test non equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all class VII students of SMPN 1 Tanjung North Lombok Regency in the academic year 2017/2018 which consisted of 6 classes. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, in order to obtain class VII 3 as the experimental class and class VII 1 as the control class. The instruments used to collect data were multiple choice questions totaling 20 items to measure student cognitive learning outcomes and essay questions to measure content and the scientific context. Meanwhile, worksheets are used to measure the scientific process. The data analysis technique used two-way ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05% using SPSS 16 for Windows. The results showed that: 1) there was an effect of the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on cognitive learning outcomes (p <0.05); and 2) there is an effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' scientific literacy (p <0.05).

This study aims to determine the cognitive learning outcomes of students through learning the Discovery Learning model that uses practicum material bricks mixed by durian and coconut skin. The briquettes were implemented as practicum materials on temperature and heat learning in the Discovery Learning model to improve learning outcomes of KIR students in SMP N 15 Kota Bengkulu. Bomb Calorimeter in Chemical Laboratory Basic Science UNIB was used to determine the calorific value of briquette variations in the mixture of durian and coconut shell skin. The characteristics of briquette were carried out in the Science Laboratory. The instrument used in learning implementation was a multiple-choice test form that has been validated. Result of learning implementation showed that students’ cognitive learning outcomes increased after Discovery Learning model was implemented. The N-gain value was 0.78 in the high group, 0.57 in the medium group, and 0.53 in the low group.

Biology is a science that has fundamental dimensions. Biology studies about living things. One of the things learned in Biology is the concept of Animalia. Inquiry learning model based on the cooperative script. The research referred to quasi-experimental research by applying inquiry learning model based on Cooperative Script in X MIPA 5 class as an experimental class and STAD learning model in X MIPA 1 class as a control class conducted at SMAN 1 Arjasa, Jember in the even semester of 2018/2019 academic year. The inquiry learning model based on cooperative script aimed to improve students' learning achievement. The result of data were analyzed  by using covariance analysis (ANAKOVA) which showed that the inquiry learning model based on cooperative script had a significant effect of p = 0,000 with the results of 49.95 in the control class and 54.12 in the experimental class on students' cognitive of grade X at SMAN 1 Arjasa, Jember. The test results of the independent sample t-test implemented in the invertebrate concept had a significant difference to psychomotor students at p = 0,000 with the results of 80.40 in the experimental class and 67.67 in the control class which revealed that from the results obtained both included in the good category.
