This article of reflection problematizes the relationships between phenomenology and hermeneutics as epistemic places of research work through a documentary approach built in two phases. First, the text reflects on the terminological use present in the paradigms, approaches, epistemological perspectives, and research methods, thereby identifying that there is no criteria univocity in its references and approaches about research methodology treaties. Likewise, it is evident that there are methodological proposals that include phenomenology and hermeneutics in a complementary, articulated, or isolated way without allowing precise places of understanding that allow to locate their application in research. Based on the aforementioned, the second phase proposes an individual approach to the background and comprehensions of phenomenology and hermeneutics, identifying particularities that characterize them, possible theoretical-practical differences and approaches that can be established in view of their relevance from the epistemic and methodological framework of research in human and social sciences. This article is a translation from the Spanish version “La hermenéutica y la fenomenología en la investigación en ciencias humanas y sociales”, published in Civilizar, 19(37), 2019. doi: 10.22518/usergioa/jour/ccsh/2019.2/a09. The necessity and advantages of using the methodology in conducting financial research in modern conditions, in particular regarding the functioning of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes, are determined. It is established that the methodology is considered by scientists in two approaches: 1) as a doctrine of research methods, which is inextricably linked with philosophical science; 2) as a set of research methods used in any science. The etymology of the concept of “methodology” is considered and approaches to the interpretation of its content are critically comprehended. It is substantiated that the structure of the research methodology, in particular the fiscal mechanism of regulation of investment processes, covers three aspects: functional, logical and process. The functional aspect of the research methodology is determined, which covers its consideration as a set of principles and methods aimed at achieving a specific practical or theoretical goal of research work. The logical aspect of research methodology is highlighted, which contains its understanding as a set of forms of organization of research work. The process aspect of research methodology is determined, which implies its interpretation as a series of successive stages aimed at achieving a certain practical or theoretical result of research work. Based on the study of reference and scientific literature, the author's definition of research methodology of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes is proposed as a specific doctrine, which covers a set of principles, methods, forms and sequential stages of research (cognitive) activity, used to identify scientific facts, their theoretical justification and practical implementation. The functions of research methodology of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes is established. The functions of research methodology of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes are established. The factors of successful application of the methodology as “art” in the study of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes are considered.

Integrated Circuits (IC) floorplanning is an important step in the integrated circuit physical design; it influences the area, wire-length, delay etc of an IC. In this paper, Order Based (OB) representation has been proposed for fixed outline floorplan with Simulated Annealing (SA) algorithm. To optimize the IC floorplan, two physical quantities have been considered such as area, and wire-length for hard IP modules. Optimization of the IC floorplan works in two phases. In the first phase, floorplans are constructed by proposed representation without any overlapping among the modules. In the second phase, Simulated Annealing algorithm explores the packing of all modules in floorplan to find better optimal performances i.e. area and wire-length. The Experimental results on Microelectronic Center of North Carolina benchmark circuits show that our proposed representation with SA algorithm performs better for area and wire-length optimization than the other methods. The results are compared with the solutions derived from other algorithms. The significance of this research work is improvement in optimized area and wire-length for modern IC.

Research methodology has recently been reduced to using research methods and techniques that are perceived only as ready-to-use tools. Paradigmatic issues become of secondary importance and left unsaid in research work or replaced by a multi-paradigm approach characterised by pluralist ontology and epistemology. The paradigm consists of assumptions and fundamental beliefs and represents a worldview that defines the nature of the world. It helps to justify the use of selected methods and techniques. The article aims to present the social constructionism paradigm and its application in old age and aging research.

“Hypothesis testing” is an integral and most important component of research methodology, in all researches, whether in medical sciences, social sciences or any such allied field. It is a guideline in planning, implementation and getting final results thereof, in undertaking any research work. The present paper, in this direction, is designed mainly as a key note, to highlight the basics towards hypothesis, testing its validity i.e. Acceptance “or” rejection and finally interpreting the tenability of selected variables as a solution to the postulated “ research problem ”. To supplement with , a few problem based illustrations (pbi)s have also been incorporated accordingly.Journal of Universal College of Medical Sciences (2015) Vol.03 No.02 Issue 10  Page:   53-56

ObjectivesTo model and analyse conceptions of determinants of health and cancer that are expressed and perceived by school children aged 6–11 based on a multiphase qualitative protocol.MethodologyThis is a multicentric, qualitative study of human and social sciences conducted among school children aged 6–11 years old. Two different tools were used, e.Photoexpression and Photonarration, in four French schools. This innovative and exploratory method addresses global health during the first phase (e.Photoexpression) and the theme of cancer during the second phase (Photonarration). The children express themselves through photography and narration.Results1498 qualitative productions were made by 381 children aged 6–11 years old. The analysis of these productions of expression and narration through images allowed modelling of determinants of health and cancer as perceived by children through 7 fields and 28 categories. The conceptions of determinants of health and child cancer refer to rationalities that are centred on individual determinants (76%), minimise environmental determinants (20%) and conceal the parameters of access to healthcare and social services (3%).DiscussionThese findings provide new data to the international literature on children’s perceptions of determinants of health and cancer. These research findings, which can be applied to interventions and current practices, will enable prevention workers to act more effectively, closer to children’s perceptions and needs.

The presented paper is methodical in character. Marketing methodology is an important matter looking from the prism of identifying its scientific status. There are differing views on the scientific status of marketing, nevertheless marketing, from the perspective of scientific cognition, has developed dynamically throughout its entire history. The main objective of this article is to present the methodological dilemmas of marketing in the context of social and economic sciences. The foundations of the methodology of research on marketing cannot be separated from the methodology of social sciences. Marketing belongs to social sciences, so it is based on similar assumptions with regard to the character of reality and scientific cognition. Marketing is engaged in exploring human behaviour and, similarly to other social sciences, makes use of such research methods and techniques. It is difficult to conduct research in the area of marketing without referring to the methodology of social sciences. The article presents the foundations of marketing research methodology, assumptions of the analysis of methodology of research on marketing in comparison to methodology of social and economic research and final remarks.

Transformations in social sciences accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic remain under-explored. The aim of the article is to analyse scientific literature on social sciences’ transformation in light of COVID-19 underpinning the elaboration of implications for teaching a Research Methodology course to the higher education students. The present research work made use of theoretical and empirical methods. The exploratory study was of qualitative nature. The study carried out in April 2021 was based on the analysis of scientific publications selected from the Web of Science and google search by indicating the key words “COVID-19” and “Social sciences’ transformation”. The conclusion is drawn that social sciences’ transformation to the remote conduct is “a new normal” in the conditions of uncertainty. Virtual fieldwork is proposed to be a new qualitative method in social sciences’ research as some populations live mostly in digital environments. Another conclusion is that there is a need for a balance, when composing the empirical study’s sample, between respondents in the digitally divided populations, namely inclusions of both groups’ - digital and non-digital - respondents. Implications for teaching a Research Methodology course to the higher education students are presented. Research limitations are identified. Directions of further research are proposed.

The decrease in interest in pursuing a teaching career is an international phenomenon. In the case of Mexico, periods of decline in interest in entering normal schools are associated with changes in the working conditions of teachers. The objective of this article is to present the results of a research work on the declining enrollment of the bachelor of arts in primary education (BAPE) as a consequence of the decrease in the number of applicants to enter this profession in Mexico. This exploratory study comprised two phases. In the first one, a revision of the federal policies regarding the teaching career and entrance to the normal schools is made. In the second phase, the statistics of the BAPE were analyzed. In relation to the applicants, a national reduction of 57% was found from 2011-2012 to 2017-2018, while enrollment shows a national declining of 17% from 2011-2012 to 2018-2019. In view of the clear and abrupt reduction of interest towards teacher education in a normal school, it is necessary to deepen the identification of the causes to implement national strategies that allow for reversing this phenomenon.

Prediction in web mining is one of the most complex tasks which will reduce web user latency. The main objective of this research work is to reduce web user latency by predicting and prefetching the users future request page. Web user activities were analyzed and monitored from the web server log file. The present work consists of two phases. In the first phase a directed graph is constructed for web user navigation with the reduction of repeated path. In the second phase, Monte Carlo search is applied on the constructed graph to predict the future request and prefetch the page. This work is successfully implemented and the prediction technique gives a better accuracy. This implementation paves a new way to prefetch the predicted pages at user end to reduce the user latency. Proposed Monte Carlo Prediction (MCP) Algorithm is compared with the existing algorithm Hidden Markov model. Proposed algorithm achieved better accuracy than the Hidden Markov Model. Accuracy is measured for the predicted web pages and achieved the optimal results.
