Background: Various modifications of the coronally displaced flap have been proposed in the literature with the attempt of treating gingival recession. This study is undertaken to evaluate the predictability of the modified coronally positioned flap in isolated gingival recession not only in terms of root coverage but also with the esthetic outcome. Materials and Methods: Fifteen isolated gingival recessions with at least 1mm of keratinized tissue apical to the defect were treated with a modified coronally advanced flap. All recessions fall into Miller class I. The clinical re-evaluation was performed 3 months and 1year after the surgery. Statistical analysis was performed using statistical application software (SPSS16.0). Multivariate ANOVA was used for analysis. Results: At the 1-year examination, the average root coverage was 94.6% of the pre-operative recession depth. There was a mean clinical attachment gain of 3.3±0.1 mm at 1 year follow-up.The average increase of keratinized tissue between the baseline and the 1-year follow-up amounted to 1.53±0.13 mm. Root coverage esthetic score (RES) was recorded at the end of follow-up period. 13/15 cases showed RES score of 9 and 2/15 cases showed RES score of 6. Conclusion: The modified coronally advanced surgical technique is effective in the treatment of isolated gingival recession in the upper jaw.

Economic organizations operate in a dynamic environment, which necessitates the use of quantitative techniques to make their decisions. Here, the role of forecasting production plans emerges. So, this study aims to analysis of the results of applying forecasting methods to production plans for the past years, in the Diyala State Company for Electrical Industries. The Diyala State Company for Electrical Industries was chosen as a field of research for its role in providing distinguished products as well as the development and growth of its products and quality, and because it produces many products, and the study period was limited to ten years, from 2010 to 2019. This study used the descriptive approach in the theoretical side of the study, on the practical side, the current study used the statistical application (SPSS), and some other statistical means to process and analyze what was collected from data related to the company, the research sample, from its official website. The research concluded that flooding the Iraqi market with alternative imported products for the products of the Electrical Industries Company led to the cessation of production of some of the company's products, as a result, its resources were not invested efficiently and production costs were high. The current study suggested to the Ministry of Electricity to buy the company's products, as these products have a good quality comparing with the foreign ones.   Received: 10 June 2021 / Accepted: 12 August 2021 / Published: 5 September 2021

Abstract In this paper, a novel statistical application of large deviation principle (LDP) to the robot trajectory tracking problem is presented. The exit probability of the trajectory from stability zone is evaluated, in the presence of small-amplitude Gaussian and Poisson noise. Afterward, the limit of the partition function for the average tracking error energy is derived by solving a fourth-order system of Euler–Lagrange equations. Stability and computational complexity of the proposed approach is investigated to show the superiority over the Lyapunov method. Finally, the proposed algorithm is validated by Monte Carlo simulations and on the commercially available Omni bundleTM robot.

Purpose In southeast Asia, international companies are growing to serve customers with multiple faiths. This study aims to focus on Thailand and it is one of Southeast Asia’s nations and it has Muslim minority customers. To represent Thai Muslim companies, Thai Muslims are marketing their goods by bearing the tagline “we are Islamic”. Scholars described it as “Islamic brands”. This research describes the significant feature of Islamic brands between Thai Muslim people. It examines, which of the Islamic brand dimensions motivates Thai customers towards buying Islamic brands. Design/methodology/approach The current study’s conceptual model was the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) and 281 Thai Muslims responded via a standardised survey. The data was collected from four southern Thailand provinces (Narathiwat, Pattani, Satun and Yala) and the statistical application Smart-partial least-squares 3 was used for data analysis. Findings The most significant factor motivating Thai Muslims towards purchasing Islamic brands is the customer’s Islamic brand. The second factor was the Islamic brands by compliance and Islamic brands by country of origin. Research limitations/implications Three regions in Thailand have been researched, as well as the results concentrate only on three Islamic brand attitudes as independent variables and the development of behavioural expectations of TPB. This research also presents a model that could help understand the consumer perceptions about Islamic brands and established brands amongst various consumers. Practical implications The present research applies to small companies and multi-national businesses, as it illuminates and recognises the image of Islamic brands and suggests the preferences of customers in selecting the brand of Islamic brand. Originality/value The current study aims to explain Thai Muslim customers’ buying behavioural intentions while purchasing Islamic brands in Thailand.

Within exponential families, which may consist of multi-parameter and multivariate distributions, a variety of divergence measures, such as the Kullback–Leibler divergence, the Cressie–Read divergence, the Rényi divergence, and the Hellinger metric, can be explicitly expressed in terms of the respective cumulant function and mean value function. Moreover, the same applies to related entropy and affinity measures. We compile representations scattered in the literature and present a unified approach to the derivation in exponential families. As a statistical application, we highlight their use in the construction of confidence regions in a multi-sample setup.

Objective: Analyze the filling in the antimicrobial request form of the Intensive Care Unit in an oncology reference hospital in the state of Pará. Methods: This was a quantitative and retrospective study by collecting data from the restricted use antimicrobials request form, developed in the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital Ophir Loyola. Forms analyzed were from August to December 2018 in the file of the Hospital Infection Control Committee. Data obtained were organized in a database in Microsoft Excel® software, for descriptive statistical application, and the results were categorized and presented in a box and tables. Results: Of the 469 forms analyzed, 125 belonged to the month of August (27%), 96 (20%) September, 79 (17%) October, 96 (20%) November (20%) and 73 (16%) December. Meropenem was the most prescribed medication in the first three months (16%, 21.90% and 20.30%), in November, vancomycin was the most dispensed (11.5%) and, in December, piperacillin-tazobactam (tazocin - 20.5%). Regarding non-conformities, there is no form with the item “pharmaceutical form”. There were missing information on indication of use, data on the isolated infectious agent and omission of information on “progress of the requested microbiological study”. The indication for use was comprised between empirical and specific therapy. Conclusion: Thus, it is necessary to adjust the antimicrobial request form, inserting complementary data for greater patient safety and better prescription, promoting their rational use.
