Nowadays, the English teachers in elementary school still use conventional media in teaching English. Based on the phenomena, the researcher developed a media with the aimed to develop Powtoon animation based-video for teaching third-grade students of elementary school. The data of this research were collected through interview, syllabus analysis, students’ questionnaire, and document recording. ADDIE model by Romiszowski was developed as the procedure of this research. The result of this research was PowToon animation based-video can be used to teach English for third-grade students of elementary school. From the students’ questionnaire, it found that the animation video could attract the students’ attention and it also motivated the students during the teaching and learning process. The media was categorized as good media by conducting expert judgment rubric. So, PowToon animation-based video could be used as an alternative media in learning English.

Games have been believed to be good media in assisting teaching for years. Games are believed can promote learning become more interesting. Many studies have been conducted on utilizing games in learning. Some have proved that games can catch students’ attention better than traditional media such as textbook. In this study, games were used in teaching students about spelling. Since spelling is the basic form of language, there are still contradicts in how to teach it better. The researchers believed that games can assist in enacting more interactive spelling course well. Thus, this research employed some spelling games to be used in teaching third grade students of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Elementary school, Bungcala, Aceh Besar. The researchers wanted to know the students’ responses after teaching by using spelling games. Thus at the end of teaching and learning process after four meetings by applying games in teaching spelling, the researcher distributed questioners to students asking their opinion about spelling games in learning spelling. The students’ responses showed that they love to study spelling through games, games make them interested in studying spelling. Games let them work more in groups.

In the implementation of learning activities that occur at SD Plus Pesantren Al-Anwar, problems when implementing learning activities, among others, are the media used are not supportive, teachers use learning resources in the form of books and have not used certain learning media. This is the cause of students tend to be passive in learning activities. When learning theme 3 sub-theme 2 learning 2 in class IV the teacher uses image media in teaching and learning activities, making students less understanding of the material. As a result, students are less interested in teaching and learning activities. This research was conducted in class IV, which consisted of 20 students. In the development research that has been carried out, it is expected to be able to provide a good influence for students, the Fun Thinkers book media is to foster student learning activities and achievements and must use media that can foster student interest in learning so that they are enthusiastic in undergoing the learning process. Research using the ADDIE model which passes through 5 stages.

The problem revealed in this study is how effective the Sort Card learning model is on social studies learning towards the learning outcomes of third grade students of Karangroto 04 State Elementary School in Semarang City. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Sort Card learning model on social studies learning on the learning outcomes of third grade students of Karangroto 04 Public Elementary School in Semarang City. This type of research is quantitative. The population in this study were class III students totaling 30 students and the design used for this study using One-Group Pretest-posttest Design. Data collection methods used are observation, tests, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study revealed the average value of pretest students 43,74 and the average posttest score of students was 88.86. From the calculation using the t-test, it is obtained t_count = 16.034 and ttable = 2.045 with db = 30-1 at the significant level α = 5%, so that t_count > t table is 16,034 > 2,045. So Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that the sort card model is effective against student learning outcomes. Based on the results of this study the suggestions that can be conveyed are expected teachers can use the sort card learning model in teaching and learning activities, especially social studies subjects

This study aims to develop an interactive pictorial story as a learning media on theme 2 Loving Plants and Animals and to determine its feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness. This study uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). In this study, the results obtained include: (1) The feasibility of the media obtained from the validation results by 5 validators obtained an average of 0.83 for content quality indicators and objectives, instructional quality indicators obtained an average of 0.84 and technical quality indicators obtained an average of 0.83. The average number of all indicators is 0.83 with the category "very valid". (2) The practicality of the media obtained a percentage of 98% in the "very feasible" category of teacher responses and 96% in the "very feasible" category of student responses. (3) The effectiveness is calculated by using the gain test of 0.56 indicating an increase in student learning outcomes in the "medium" category. The result of this research can be a reference to understand that an interactive pictorial story will be a big help for teachers in conducting an interesting teaching and learning process, especially during this pandemic. The pictorial story was created in an interactive format, so students can learn the material in a fun and interesting way. Besides, in this outbreak, students need to have a technology-based learning resource other than their school books so they can study independently.

Reading Comprehension is the ability to read text, process it and understand the meaning. It relies on two, interconnected abilities: Word reading be able to decode the symbols on the page and language comprehension being able to understand the meaning of words and sentences . In fact, students generally feel bored and unmotivated in learning English especially in reading skill because English is different from Indonesian so that the students have difficulty in understanding reading English text. They do not know the meaning of some words in the text. Therefore, the teacher’s role becomes important in the teaching and learning process especially in teaching reading. Therefore, appropriate media should be chosen to motivate their students not only to read the text but also comprehend what they read. One of the media that can be used and applied by the teacher is Composite Pictures. A Composite Picture is a large single picture which shows a scene in which a number of people can be seen doing several things. Thus, to know whether or not there was a significant effect of using Composite Pictures on reading comprehension achievement; Composite Pictures was used as media in teaching reading in this research.

This procedure is also to eliminate subjectivity in research results. The sample in this study were all third grade students of Muhammadiyah Elementary School Palangkaraya, and because the population was less than 100 people, all third grade students of Muhammadiyah Elementary School became the research sample. The variables in this study are cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains. Data collection methods or techniques are using the question method or in the form of tests and observations. While the instrument used in this study is in the form of a test to measure the ability of the beginning or end of learning, and observation during the learning process takes place. The steps and procedures in analyzing data are as follows: data collection, editing, coding, data tabulation, data quality testing and describing data. In a learning process, it is always necessary to conduct an assessment or evaluation so that a teacher obtains complete data on the ability of students to have their abilities, assessment will also be meaningful when a teacher does not only do one or two assessments, but is done as often as possible to monitor student progress. continuously while looking at the extent to which learning objectives have been achieved. In addition evaluation must also be able to describe students' abilities in three domains, namely: cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains. To measure the cognitive domain using a measuring instrument in the form of multiple choice tests, while to measure the affective and psychomotor domains using the observation sheet.

With the increase of Chinese learners, a number of people who attend Chinese Proficiency Test also have continued to increase. To cope with this test, Chinese Department BINUS University sets up HSK Preparation Class for its students. In this class it is found that students have some difficulties with this subject. One of them is reading part. Therefore this study was conducted through analysis of third grade students of HSK Preparation Class to find out what their problems are, to provide some suggestions, and to comment that can be used in teaching and learning process. This study is hoped to be able to provide some advice and help forteachers and students having HSK Preparation Class.

This research is research and development on the development of English textbooks for non-English department using ADDIE model, however this research only the first phase of ADDIE model, which is analysis. This research only describing the process and analyzing toward English textbooks need which is used in teaching and learning to non-English learners. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method, because the data analysis in the form of word. The researcher use three instrument to get the data, they are: questionnaire forgetting deep information of the student need, interview to know the teaching and learning process doing by the lecturer, and documentation to know the learners outcomes in learning English, especially English for general basic courses in the university. Based on research finding and discussion, students purpose in learning English are to be able to speak English in interest with their work, English level of the students are beginner, they understand simple sentence in daily conversation, students’ needs and wishes according with English learning are their English skill can support their academic competence and also their work, students need according with material and assignment is basic material for beginner learners with completed by the assignment, students need according with activities in the classroom is that they want to have active activity by solving the problem in pairs or small group. Based on the interview of the English lecture, the researcher concludes that the students are enthusiastic in the teaching and learning process, Learning method which is used is lecture method and cooperative learning, mastery of the material is still lacking,  the average of students skill is at the beginner level. The material which is should be mastered by students are focusing on reading and speaking, read the English literature and English article. Focus on answering the question by correct speaking. For the micro skills, they have to memorize many vocabularies and doing correct practicing in pronounces the word. Based on document analysis, the researcher concludes that: The students are able to translate the text related to their department, the students are able to explain the reading technique of the scientific text to know the information of the text, the students are able to improve speaking skill with correct sentences and other learning outcomes deal with the English lecture.

Media in learning process is very intact because it will be supported from  the learning to be more easily exposed. Many experts say that with the media, it can help teachers and students in the learning process to be able and achieve the goals of the learning process. This research aimed it introducing and describing how the  preparation and utilization of the flash cards media are used by teachers in teaching English to young learners. This research was conducted at SDN Baros Mandiri 2 Cimahi. The method used in this research is the descriptive research in accordance with the case study that occurred. The source of the data was the English teacher and the subjects were the second grade students of SDN Baros Mandiri 2 Cimahi. Observation, interviews and documentation are the data collection techniques used in this research. The findings reveal that teachers use flash card media according to the material to be delivered to young learners. Based on the results of the research the flash card media can help facilitate teachers in the delivery of learning material, students are also more enthusiastic, excited and very happy to learn English and very influential in the teaching and learning process.  Keywords:  instructional media, utilization of instructional media, flash Card

Students of Grade III of Elementary school began to be taught Javanese script. The student has some problems when studying Javanese script that is difficult to distinguish and the use of media of learning of Javanese script is limited. Based on these problems found the idea of developing the media of Pansus Raja for the learning of third-grade students of Elementary School in Semarang regency. The problems in this research are: (1) how the needs of teachers and students of the third grade of Elementary school in Semarang regency to Pansus Raja, (2) how to develop the media of Pansus Raja, and (3) how to validate expert lecturers. The method used in this research is Research and Development (RnD) using a data analysis technique that is descriptive qualitative technique. After Pansus Raja was created, then tested to the expert lecturers. The revitalized Pansus Raja tried out to Elementary School. The result of the trial is the media Pansus Raja proved to increase students' understanding of Javanese script.
