The fact that open ocean covers two-thirds of the surface of our planet dramati- cally illustrates the importance of the marine environment to life on Earth. But the importance of the oceans goes far beyond their sheer size for it is the oceans that largely determine our climate for the weather around the world is heavily influenced by what happens in our seas. ‘Weather patterns are primarily controlled by ocean currents which are influenced by surface winds, temperature, salinity, the Earth’s rotation and ocean tides....Ocean currents bring warm water and rain from the equator to the poles and cold water from the poles towards the equator’ (www.greentumble.com, 2016). Every schoolchild knows that the sun evaporates water from the sea which then become clouds that then produces almost all of the rain and snow which falls on every land mass in the world. The oceans also absorb heat from the sun and from human activities; this heat is then carried to the land in those places where the prevailing winds blow from the sea to the land. At the same time, the oceans play a vital role in the carbon cycle by absorbing carbon dioxide that is in the air.

The Greenhouse Effect acts to slow the escape of infrared radiation to space, and hence warms the atmosphere. The oceans derive almost all of their thermal energy from the sun, and none from infrared radiation in the atmosphere. The thermal energy stored by the oceans is transported globally and released after a range of different time periods. The release of thermal energy from the oceans modifies the behaviour of atmospheric circulation, and hence varies climate. Based on ocean behaviour, New Zealand can expect weather patterns similar to those from 1890-1922 and another Little Ice Age may develop this century.

The switchgear manufacturers are generally multinational organizations and operate in almost all available markets and what differences the operations in various markets is the Distribution strategy as not only this plays a vital role in organizations efficiency to serve customers but also a critical success factor in organizational strategy and since The products are required by the industry to continuously run their operations and the need is random & difficult to predict hence the availability of these is critical for industries and hence the distribution network of these products becomes a critical success factor for the manufacturers of these products. The purpose of this paper is to analyse and understand the different distribution models adopted by organizations across the world and their applicability in different locations for factors related to the business as well as geography. The paper will also comments on the applicability of these models in India.

Crops play a vital role in our daily life, as they represent the backbone of all life on earth and an essential resource for human food, feed grain, oil, and fiber for local consumption and a major component of export trade in many countries, leading to its increasing demand all over the world. Precision planting is the effective method to rise crop yield. To meet the agricultural requirement of precision planting, various types of different precision seed planters have been developed. However, because of the difference of farm scale, geographical environment, crop type and economic status among different countries, types of seed planters are various, and the technique involved are at different levels. This paper analysis and compare of some typically precision seed planters currently available in the world. Detailed characteristics have been provided for some typical precision planters and comparisons were made as to their suitability under working conditions. This allows the smallholder farmers to assess and select the appropriate precision seed planter that corresponds to the potential and characteristics required, for example, planting seeds, the possibility of adding fertilizer during cropping, the number of rows and the horsepower required, controlling the seeds rate, spacing between seeds in the same rows in addition to more other options.

The world we in is virtually becoming smaller since living and nonliving things are connected to the internet. Internet of things, or IoT, is a system of interconnected things, each with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to exchange data without the need of human intervention. The rapid growth of IoT is considered the next wave for enhancing services in almost all sectors of life, at low cost and time. This chapter presents IoT in a broader context, in terms of its growth, IoT operating systems, architecture, and future trends of IoT. The major contribution is detailed information of umpteen IoT applications. The various benefits of IoT, matter of concerns with respect to IoT, scope of research work are also discussed. The integration of various technologies is the main enabling factor of IoT, yielding more benefits to society as a whole. Also, supports in understanding implementation technologies and the major applications of their domain where IoT plays a vital role and future problems for next 20 years are also explicated.

The story of our world is written in the rocks. Turning over the stony pages, a trained geologist can read about mountains that rose and fell in the distant past, oceans that dried out in the sun, and continents that came together and drifted apart. The ground beneath us was shaped by processes like these over millions of years, and perhaps it is unsurprising that these epic shifts in the landscape should have left traces behind. But here and there, to our immense good fortune, the rocks yield something else: remains or traces of ancient life. If a good rock can be read like a good book, then a well-preserved fossil is like a finely wrought illustration, a vivid depiction of a fleeting moment in the life of the world. Fossils, whether on the scale of dinosaurs or individual molecules, provide our most decisive evidence for testing hypotheses about the abundance, diversity and evolution of life on Earth over the past three-and-a-half billion years. They are also our best hope for answering one of the most compelling questions in science: was there ever life on Mars?

Today, many decades after independence, the much vaunted vision and mission of the African states to be among the most cherished states of the world, is far from being realized. The underdeveloped state of almost all African states is said to have at its basis poor leadership. The study reveals that the leadership challenge in Africa is not unconnected with her contact with colonialists. It is argued that the present political system of the continent is a direct reflection of the colonial system which is highly centralized and authoritarian in nature. It follows therefore, that the bad system of governance in Africa is attributable to colonial experience. To make head way, Africa has to free herself from the legacies of colonial administration. It is therefore, the firm intent of this paper to argue to the fact that philosophy has a vital role in reorienting Africans to create their own indigenous identity which not only settles the crisis of leadership but as well bring about the overall and much desired growth and development. In the 21st century, the world became a sign of globalization: global conflicts, global disasters, global economy, global Internet, etc. The Polish researcher Casimir Zhigulsky defines globalization as a kind of process, that is, the target set of characteristic changes that develop over time and occur in the modern world. These changes in general are reduced to mutual rapprochement, reduction of distances, the rapid appearance of a large number of different connections, contacts, exchanges, and to increase the dependence of society in almost all spheres of his life from what is happening in other, often very remote regions of the world.

The Thomas More Society of Buenos Aires begins or ends almost all its events by reciting in both English and Spanish a prayer written by More in the margins of his Book of Hours probably while he was a prisoner in the Tower of London. After a short history of what is called Thomas More’s Prayer Book, the author studies the prayer as a poem written in the form of a psalm according to the structure of Hebrew poetry, and looks at the poem’s content as a psalm of lament.

In the world auto market, top three companies are VW(Volkswagen), Runault-Nissan-Mistubishi, and Toyota. About some selected countries and areas, China, England, Italy, Australia, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Sweden, USA, Brazil, UAE, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand are more competitive. However, the situation is different. Seeing monopolistic market countries and areas, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, France, India, and Pakistan, in particular, the influence of Japan to Taiwan, India, and Pakistan is very big. But in Korea and France, their own companies’ brands occupy the market. In Japan domestic market, the overall situation is competitive. Almost all vehicles made in Japan are Japanese brand. From now on, we have to note the development of electric vehicle (EV) and other new technologies such as automatic driving and connected car. That is because they will give a great impact on the auto industry and market of Japan. Now Japan’s auto industry is going to be consolidated into three groups, Honda, Toyota group, and Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi group for seeking the scale merit of economy. Therefore, I will pay attention to the worldwide development of EV and other new technologies and the reorganization of auto companies groups.
