The development of character values and cultural values is a long process start- ing from the initial incoming students to completion of an educational unit. In fact, the pro- cess starts from the kindergarten continues to elementary school and lasted at least until the 9th grade or last grade of junior high school. The development process of character and cultural values carried by each subject, and in each curricular and extracurricular activities, through all subjects, personal development, and education unit. This study seeks to describe the profile of Indonesian subjects teaching materials in the current elementary school according to teachers and students opinions and the needs of students and teach- ers towards Indonesian subjects thematic teaching materials which contains character and cultural values. Research and development is applied to the field of education . The subjects of research were elementary school students and elementary schools teachers in Ungaran and Semarang. 27 people (29 %) of teachers declared that there are Indonesian textbooks were still least helpful in teaching. 8 people (9 %) of teachers stated that the Indonesian textbooks were incomplete. 85 people (91 %) of teachers want the Indonesian textbook to be more complete, making it easier for teachers to teach.

This text aims to understand how the experiences with pedagogical workshops on taching mathematics in rural areas favored the teaching and learning of geometry by undergraduate in Pedagogy and by elementary school students. The text reflects the contexts of the countryside, showing how this can be enhanced as a locus for valuing actions in teaching that go beyond the school walls and expand by the contexts of life of their students. The methodology of this work comprises the realization of a pedagogical workshop with a course load of 12 hours, held at Sítio Mata da Lua by graduates of the Pedagogy Course in the Teaching of Mathematics discipline, given to students of the 9th grade of Elementary School II and the High school. The workshop was the research device used to enable reflections on the development of teaching practices that aim to theorize and value the students' context through a study on the concepts of trigonometry, plane geometry and surface measurements in situations and experiences in the fields. We take the reports of teachers and students who participated in this workshop as an element of analysis. It is concluded that the teaching of mathematics generates meanings for the student when the context in which he lives is taken into consideration for the construction of school knowledge. The countryside was understood as a locus of teaching in mathematics, enabling students to create connections between th knowledge of the countryside and the knowledge of trigonometry, in a construction of significant learning about mathematical knowledge. The industrial revolution 4.0 and 21st-century skills leave fundamental problems in the implementation of 2013 curriculum teaching materials with an integrated thematic approach, including learning the art of music in elementary schools. It is very important for teachers to integrate technology into learning. The purpose of this research is to develop interactive multimedia in the form of a digital songbook as a support for integrated thematic teaching materials. The type of research that has been used is Research & Development which refers to the ADDIE. The subjects of this study were 4 (four) teachers and 100 elementary school students in the city of Padang. Data collection techniques and instruments were in the form of a questionnaire consisting of a validation questionnaire for validators and a practicality questionnaire given to teachers and students. The data analysis technique was obtained by taking the average results of product validation and practicality. The results showed that the average score of content and graphic validation was 84.1% in the appropriate category, while the average practicality score was 86.7%. Thus, the Digital Song Book is feasible and practical to use in learning the art of music as a support for integrated thematic teaching materials in elementary schools that meaningful for elementary students. The findings of this study have significant implications for designers and teachers, as well as multimedia researchers.

This study aims to analyze the need for teaching materials in the form of Flipbook as a media of information technology K-13 mathematics learning for junior high school students in class VIII semester II. The subjects of this research are 27 students of eight grades in Junior High School 2 Sukoharjo. This research is motivated by the limited available teaching materials and lack of innovation in teaching materials, so it tends to make students bored with mathematics. Data collection techniques using non-test with research instruments are a questionnaire that needs analysis and interviews. The analysis consists of 3 stages, namely front-end analysis, student analysis, and teaching material analysis The research findings show that (1) the lack of additional textbooks / other references in learning; (2) have never used learning media and the lack of facilities; (3) teachers and students need information technology-based mathematics teaching media.

Abstract: Development of Religion Materials Based on Synectic Approach to Junior High School Students. Problems faced by teachers and students is the lack of teaching materials that can enhance students' understanding of competence. The understanding ability not only from low ability but also come to advance level. Especially the aspects of understanding the abstract of religious material at the first school level. Objectives: The aim of the study was to produce religious teaching materials based on a synectic approach that was valid, practical and effective. Method: The research methodology is research and development. This type of research produces products such as teaching materials. Teaching materials are expected to help students carry out learning activities easier. Finding: Based on the results of the study, religious teaching materials in the understanding of abstract concepts, for junior high school students, have been tested and declared valid, practical and effective to use.Conclusion: The Religion Material has been tested and valid for use in studentAbstrak: Pengembangan Materi Agama Berdasarkan Pendekatan Synectic pada Siswa SMP. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh guru dan siswa adalah kurangnya bahan ajar yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang kompetensi. Kemampuan pemahaman tidak hanya dari kemampuan rendah tetapi juga datang ke tingkat lanjutan. Terutama aspek-aspek memahami abstrak materi agama di tingkat sekolah pertama. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan bahan pengajaran agama berdasarkan pendekatan synectic yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Metode: Metodologi penelitian adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Jenis penelitian ini menghasilkan produk seperti bahan ajar. Bahan ajar diharapkan dapat membantu siswa melakukan kegiatan belajar dengan lebih mudah. Temuan: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, bahan ajar agama dalam pemahaman konsep abstrak, untuk siswa SMP, telah diuji dan dinyatakan valid, praktis dan efektif untuk digunakan. The purpose of this study is to build the framework about the influence of families on the formation and personality development of elementary school students in Vietnam. The research results show that there are 5 contents and 5 methods in family education that are commonly used by parents of students in urban areas of Vietnam where economic and social conditions are common. With a traditional Confucian education background, Vietnamese families always give a lot of attention to their children. However, the fact that the “excessive” care of Vietnamese parents negatively affects the personal development of elementary school age children. Besides, the paper contributes to the literature on the role of family education in Vietnam in the development of elementary school student character.

This study examines depression in students at public high schools in Taiwan. The purpose of this study is to examine which student-level and teacher-level variables affect student depression due to teacher emotional overinvolvement and other factors. A survey instrument adapted and translated from existing surveys was distributed to 1,479 Taiwanese adolescents aged 13—15 years and 172 teachers from 10 public junior high schools in the city of Taipei. The hierarchical linear model (HLM) was used for a cross-level analysis of the data. The HLM shows that student-level measures account for most of the variance. Teacher emotional overinvolvement and core self-evaluations are the preponderant influences on student ratings. In terms of teacher-level variables, the effects of teacher involvement, teacher depression, and teacher educational background on student-level variables are strong and significant. The findings of this study recommend the development of a comprehensive counseling system for teachers and students.

This preliminary study aims to collect information about elementary school students’ learning styles and preferences that are useful for developing reading literacy books to strengthenthe socio-cultural values in elementary schools in order to be effective for the School Literacy Movement. This is as based on the fact that there are cases of elementary school students committing violence against their own friends. The development model of reading literacy for elementary school students was Plomp’s model with the steps of preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment. The research findings in the preliminary analysis show that students tend to have less motivation to read due to reading materials which are not interesting enough. The needs analysis results show that elementary school students really like folklore. The folklore to be developed comprises traditional Indonesian folklore spreading throughout the country in every province. It is expected that educational practitioners use a book about folklore in the learning process and the School Literacy Movement. The results of the teaching materials validation show that reading literacy learning materials using folklore are valid and can be tried out.

Affected by exam-oriented education, many teachers and students pay more attention to written knowledge in the process of English learning in junior high schools in Zhejiang Province. Students’ ability of oral English is not as good as written expression, especially in areas where economic development is relatively slow. This paper aims to find out the factors that affect the oral communication ability of junior high school students in Zhoushan through the field investigation of Ningbo and Zhoushan. It can provide direction and reference for improving students' oral English ability in economically underdeveloped areas in the future.
