This study aims to explore the feasibility of information about an accelerated program at the Muhammadiyah Sapen elementary school Yogyakarta, to describes empirically as well evaluating the implementation of an accelerated program about. This research can be categorized as an evaluative research with a qualitative approach.Data were collected through interviews, observation and studying documents, then analyzed inductively and constantly through categorization, classification, and reduction. The subjects were the school principals, chief of acceleration program, teachers, parents and participants of the acceleration program. The results showed that the selection of program participants has not fully meet the established criteria. Each student must pass four selections; the selection of objective data, subjective assessment, health requirements, and students readiness and parents support. The four aspects has not been done properly, particularly aspects of objective data assessment. Selection of teachers has not been conducted based on the criteria. Teachers are still determined by the principal and teaching experience is ignored. For the curriculum, funding and infrastructure already fulfill the criteria. Keywords: evaluation, accelerated learning program, elementary school

The meaning of knowledge through simulation implies knowing how to interpret everyday processes and situations. The knowing of mechanisms and technological operators involved, being competences that are worked with special attention in the Technology classroom and help to consolidate knowledge, awaken the interest of students and motivate them towards research in the field of science and technology, as well as their capacity for analysis and reasoning. The research methodology is an action research, common to evaluative studies of educational innovation in training processes and improvement of professional practice. The selection of this teaching experience is due, on the one hand, to its innovation proposal integrating the methodological strategy of "Problem-Based Learning (ABP) being the backbone of the Technology area. On the other hand, the use of simulators, playing a fundamental role in the implementation of those processes embodied in projects that solve simple day-to-day problems. The emerging critical explanatory categories - selected for this work - have been; interest in solving technical problems, in robotics sessions, and programming simple mechanisms. As a result, the design of educational experiences based on the simulation of mechanisms or processes through digital media awakens the interests of the students as well as other sensations and emotions linked to the great diversity of content developed in the computer room, highlight the themes current technological booming as programming, simulation of structures, mechanical movements or electrical and automatic circuits.

The research reveals a profile of reflective thinking of elementary school students in problem solving fractions based on his mathematical abilities. The instruments used in data collection is Test Problem Solving (TPM), interview. Selection of research subjects in a way given test is based on the ability of mathematics, namely mathematical skills of high, medium and low and further categorized and taken at least 2 people to serve as subjects. The research objective is: describe the profile of reflective thinking that math skills of elementary school students High, medium, and low. Based on the results of the study found reflective thinking profile and high ability students were as follows: (a) the step to understand the problems students have information/knowledge or data that is used to respond, comes from inside (internal) and can explain what has been done; (B) the planned step problem solving students have information/knowledge or data that is used to respond, comes from inside (internal) and can explain what has been done; (C) on measures to implement the plan in terms of information/knowledge or data used by students to respond, comes from inside (internal), could explain what has been done, realized the error and fix it, and communicate ideas with a symbol or image, and (d) the checking step back, namely information/knowledge or data that is used by students to respond, comes from inside (internal) and can explain what has been done. Profile of reflective thinking ability students lowly mathematics, namely: (a) at the stage of understanding the problem, students can determine known and asked in the problem, but the students' difficulties to explain the identification of the facts that have been done, the students explained the understanding vocabulary, and feel of existing data the matter is enough; (B) at the stage of implementing the plan, the students explained, organize and represent data on the issue, describes how to select the operation in solving a problem though students are not sure, and students' difficulty in explaining what he had done; (C) at the stage of implementing the plan, the student has information on calculation skills although the answer is not correct. Students difficulty in explaining about the skills calculations have been done, trying to communicate their ideas in the form of symbols or images, even if students rather difficult to describe, and realized there was an error when using a calculation skills and improve it; (D) at the stage of check, students' difficulties in explaining whether obtained estimates it approached, it makes senseKeywords: reflective thinking, problem solving, fractions, and math skills.

AbstractThe aim of the study was to examine changes in objective and self-reported physical activity (PA) among women aged 60 years and older. The study included 200 women aged over 60 years, divided into three groups according to age (60–65 years, 66–70 years, > 70 years). The subjective assessment was provided with the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) – short version with self-reported PA assessment, and objective data was provided by an Actigraph GT3-BT worn for seven days. Significant differences in moderate and high intensity PA, moderate-to-vigorous PA and steps per day were found between the oldest and youngest groups; as well as in low, moderate, moderate-to-vigorous PA and steps per day between groups middle and oldest. In all three age groups, 1) significant differences were observed between subjective and objective measurements of physical activity and 2) no correlation was found between assessment measures. It was found that only direct PA measurement declined with age in women over 60 years old, and that sedentary behavior is underestimated, and moderate and vigorous PA overestimated, with the self-reported IPAQ.

Despite an increase in ethnic diversity within the state, the Irish teaching workforce remains starkly mono-ethnic. This article is based on an analysis of data generated through a sequential explanatory mixed method research project involving questionnaire responses from 240 migrant teachers and subsequent focus group with a selection of teachers. Findings suggest that migrant teachers are slow to engage in the formal accreditation process, and face considerable challenges when they do. This reflects not only practical difficulties, but also narrow discourses of who can legitimately be recognised as a teacher in Ireland. This in turn is linked to cultural arbitraries highlighted through the research, such as a requirement to be able to teach through the Irish language in primary school and a requirement to be registered to teach in primary or post-primary schools only. In exploring these barriers, we draw broadly on Bourdieu and Passeron’s (1990) work, which understands teachers as pedagogic agents, imbued with pedagogic authority through formal processes of accreditation and selection. These processes involve the imposition of cultural arbitraries which legitimate certain languages, content or stances over others. Recommendations include revisions to the registration process to take previous teaching experience into account.

This paper attempts to explore the effectiveness of the seller reputation mechanism by an empirical study using online sales data collected from TaoBao.com. A comparison analysis of seller reputation metrics of TaoBao, Amazon, and jd are carried out before the selection of the seller reputation metrics. The seller reputation metrics of small appliances are used as the input for the study considering the quality homogeneity among different sellers of the market, and the sales performance is measured by the sales amount of the recent month. The univariate analysis are performed to find out the effect of different seller reputation metrics on the sales performance, and the attribute selection technique is then applied to reveal the most significant factors contributing to the sales performance. The result indicates the significance of the user subjective assessment on the sales performance.
