Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children and adolescents associated with SARS-CoV-2 (MBS-D) is a new challenge for pediatricians around the world. Scientific data is updated daily and patient treatment regimens are developed. The involvement of the heart in the inflammatory process complicates the course of the disease and further rehabilitation of patients. The article describes 12 patients with heart disease in the structure of MVS-D, who underwent laboratory tests and instrumental studies, including MRI of the heart, and also provides detailed descriptions of three clinical cases and a review of literature data.

Congenital missing permanent second molar is an extremely rare condition. Non syndromic mandibular second molar agenesis associated with other anomalies has occasionally been reported in literature, but isolated sporadic cases are rarely observed. Number of interactions between genetic and environmental factors during the process of tooth development might be the causative etiology for agenesis. This report presents an isolated case of hypodontia with absence of bilateral mandibular second molar agenesis in a healthy 18 year old female patient is presented and literature review on prevalence of most missing teeth with incidence of missing second molar in various regions of the world and in various regions of Indian continent is presented. No such case has been reported in Indian literature so far.

Abstract SARS-CoV-2, which causes the disease COVID-19, generally has a mild disease course in children. However, a severe post-infectious inflammatory process known as multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children has been observed in association with COVID-19. This inflammatory process is a result of an abnormal immune response with similar clinical features to Kawasaki disease. It is well established that multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children is associated with myocardial dysfunction, coronary artery dilation or aneurysms, and occasionally arrhythmias. The most common electrocardiographic abnormalities seen include premature atrial or ventricular ectopy, variable degrees of atrioventricular block, and QTc prolongation, and rarely, haemodynamically significant arrhythmias necessitating extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support. However, presentation with fever, hypotension, and relative bradycardia with a left axis idioventricular rhythm has not been previously reported. We present a case of a young adolescent with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children with myocarditis and a profoundly inappropriate sinus node response to shock with complete resolution following intravenous immunoglobulin.

The Coronavirus pandemic has caused negative effects across the globe; mortality and morbidity being the main impact. After WHO, termed the disease a pandemic in March 2020, they gave in health guidelines to follow to control the spread of the disease. The health industry, academia, and different governments are united to develop and test various vaccines at an unprecedented speed to combat the pandemic fully and bring the world back to its feet. Some of the vaccines developed include Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca. However, just like other viruses, the SAR-CoV-2 virus keeps changing through mutation, as various variants, different from the first one are emerging. Evidence shows that the three new variants; UK, Brazil, and South Africa are more severe in terms of transmissibility, disease severity, evading of the immune response, and reducing the ability to neutralized antibodies, compared to the original coronavirus. With such knowledge of the existence of different strains, the arises concerns on whether the already available vaccines are effective enough in preventing the new COVID-19 strains. Studies are still underdeveloped to learn more on the virologic, epidemiologic, and clinical characteristics of the ever-emerging variants. This research, through a systemic review of literature, seeks to find out whether the variants of SAR-CoV-2 have an impact on the efficacy of various vaccines developed in fighting the disease and the entire body’s immune response.

COVID-19 vaccine passports run the risk of creating a divided society where social privileges or restrictions based on “fitness” lead to discrimination based on immunization status. Individuals have a strong right to be free of coercion to take a COVID-19 vaccine, and we should be very leery of further invasion of private medical decisions. These concerns are shared both internationally and in the United States, and the World Health Organization, the Biden administration, and many US governors oppose COVID-19 vaccine credentials. In addition, regulations for COVID-19 vaccine credentials face practical barriers, including lack of access globally, especially among the poor; and lack of scientific data on the efficacy of these vaccines.

Context.During the late 1990s, insecticide resistance had rendered a number of treatment products ineffective; some companies saw this as an opportunity to develop alternative types of treatment. We investigated the possibility that a surfactant-based lotion containing 10% cocamide diethanolamine (cocamide DEA) was effective to eliminate head louse infestation.Settings and Design.Initialin vitrotesting of the lotion formulation versus laboratory reared body/clothing lice, followed by two randomised, controlled, community-based, assessor blinded, clinical studies.Materials and Methods.Preliminary laboratory tests were performed by exposing lice or louse eggs to the product using a method that mimicked the intended use. Clinical Study 1: Children and adults with confirmed head louse infestation were treated by investigators using a single application of aqueous 10% cocamide DEA lotion applied for 60 min followed by shampooing or a single 1% permethrin creme rinse treatment applied to pre-washed hair for 10 min. Clinical Study 2: Compared two treatment regimens using 10% cocamide DEA lotion that was concentrated by hair drying. A single application left on for 8 h/overnight was compared with two applications 7 days apart of 2 h duration, followed by a shampoo wash.Results.The initial laboratory tests showed a pediculicidal effect for a 60 min application but limited ovicidal effect. A longer application time of 8 h or overnight was found capable of killing all eggs but this differed between batches of test material. Clinical Study 1: Both treatments performed badly with only 3/23 (13%) successful treatments using cocamide DEA and 5/25 (23.8%) using permethrin. Clinical Study 2: The single overnight application of cocamide DEA concentrated by hair drying gave 10/56 (17.9%) successes compared with 19/56 (33.9%) for the 2 h application regimen repeated after 1 week. Intention to treat analysis showed no significant difference (p= 0.0523) between the treatments. Over the two studies, there were 18 adverse events possibly or probably associated with treatment, most of which were increased pruritus after treatment.Conclusions.Cocamide DEA 10% lotion, even when concentrated by hair drying, showed limited activity to eliminate head louse infestation.

In Ukraine, as elsewhere in the world, feline calicivirus is one of the most common infectious diseases of cats. The main reason is the continuous growth of infections in animal populations, and high recurrence interest of feline calicivirus in cats that have undergone treatment. In addition, nowadays, it is a chronic disease. Therefore, according to existing treatment regimens, there is a need to develop new, more effective, aimed at the elimination of the pathogen through the appointment of immunomodulators, antibiotics with simultaneous application of specific medicine, including hyperimmune serum against feline calicivirus.The article presents experimental data on the study of various schemes of complex treatment for feline calicivirus using Fosprenil, Tylozine and specific hyperimmune serum against feline calicivirus. Apart from antigenic reaction, medical hyperimmune serum show immunomodulatory properties. It is proved that the use of specific globulin at a dose of 2 ml per animal in the treatment of cats increases the effectiveness of therapy by 25% compared with the use of schemes that included only antibiotic and immune modulator. At the same time, it is known, that the use of globulin without antibiotics and immunomodulators does not show high therapeutic efficacy.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> The Second Edition of the Atlas of Yellowstone will celebrate the 150-year history of the world’s first national park – and reflect on the future of Yellowstone and its evolving place in the world. Like the first Atlas of Yellowstone published in 2012, the Second Edition will provide a comprehensive view of the human and natural setting of Yellowstone National Park. Also like the First Edition, the new edition will portray variations over space and time, explore human-nature interactions throughout the region, document connections of Yellowstone to the rest of the world, and &amp;ndash; ultimately &amp;ndash; guide the reader to a deeper appreciation of Yellowstone.</p><p>Beyond that, the new edition will provide much expanded coverage of the park’s history. Readers will better understand the many different ways in which the creation of Yellowstone National Park has preserved and altered the landscapes and ecology of Yellowstone and conservation thought and practice, both locally and around the world.</p><p>The new atlas will also reflect advances in scientific data collection, knowledge, and insight gained since publication of the first edition. New topic pages will address key management issues ranging from increased visitor impact to wildlife disease to light pollution. In addition, many of the 850 existing graphics will be updated, reimagined, or replaced by new graphics that capture the remarkable wealth of data that has become available since the First Edition. Whether it be tracking of individual wolves, ecosystem imagery from space, or detailed visitor surveys &amp;ndash; new data provide insights that could not be graphically displayed before.</p><p>The Second Edition celebrates 150 years of America’s best idea and what that has meant to the world. The importance of allergic diseases is due to their increasing prevalence in both developed and developing countries. The prevalence of allergic diseases in most countries of the world is 10–30% among urban and rural population. In the regions of Russia, the prevalence of allergic diseases reaches 19–40% among the adult population and over 27% among children and adolescents. The article deals with the main aspects of the pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis as the most common allergic pathology. The features of antihistamine therapy with modern drugs of the 2nd generation and their influence on the links of the inflammatory process are considered. The data of studies of the effectiveness and safety of the original drug bilastine. Given the use cases bilastine in clinical practice.
