High rates of development of the world economy, unstable dynamics of demand and prices for hydrocarbon raw materials in the international market cause the need to search for domestic reserves to optimize production costs. The modern method of management aimed at solving this problem is the functional cost analysis of business processes, which allows not only to estimate the cost of the business process, but also to identify priority areas and sub-processes that require rationalization. The article highlights the history of the value analysis, its detailed characteristics. As a feature of the value method that differentiates it from the other methods of economic analysis there is given a systematic and complex approach to the studied object. It has been stated that earlier there was not conducted a complex research to find reserves for increasing the efficiency of oil and gas companies. This fact explains the need for the full consideration of the problem. There have been considered the stages of a logical realization of the value method. The algorithm of functional-cost analysis in relation to the oil and gas company is considered on the example of the business process “Exploration”, as a result of which its functional model is built. There have been shown the evaluating criteria of business processes for oil and gas producing companies: efficiency, productivity, cost of the process, operating capacity, duration and adaptability. The value diagram of cost coefficients of functions (sub-processes) has been presented. Detailed calculations of the cost factor for the function-subprocess “Oil and gas forecast” allowed to identify priority areas of cost optimization and to offer indicators for evaluating the effectiveness of the use of functional cost analysis in the implementation of project-oriented management in oil and gas companies.

The relevance of the study is justified by the influence of the QMS implemented in Russian oil and gas companies on the improvement of business processes, product quality and the final results of enterprises. The main objective is to determine the QMS` impact of PJSC Gazprom on the company's performance.The information and analytical base of the research is the data of normative and methodological documentation, periodical press, information resources of the Internet, as well as statistical data collected and analyzed by the authors. The article considers the quality standards in the oil and gas sector of the Russian Federation as a whole, as well as the standards implemented in PJSC Gazprom for the period 2015–2020. The circumstances that make it difficult to implement the QMS in Gazprom PJSC are highlighted. PJSC Gazprom is developing a corporate quality management system, successfully implementing its own QMS policy for suppliers and partners, conducting an audit of the QMS and monitoring quality deficienciesdue to the improvement of the QMS. The results show that QMS development process of PJSC Gazprom allowed the company to increase revenue, reduce production costs, reduce the number of defects, increase customer satisfaction, increase in-tangible assets for 2015–2020 by increasing the cost of the trademark, simplify the system of participation in procurement procedures and tenders due to the availability of a certificate of quality compliance with international standards.

The article is devoted to the mathematical foundations of creating a conceptual optimal mathematical model of the business process for developing estimate documentation for the construction and reconstruction of oil and gas facilities. Existing scientific and practical work on the subject of mathematical regulation of business processes is only a descriptive nature of business process management and cannot solve the set research problems of improving the performance of design and cost accounting. Issues such as the presentation of the project development process for the construction in the form of a complex system, and its study in a more detailed form are touched upon. Business process management is presented in the form of applying a systems approach, mathematical regulation and improvement of the strategy of functioning and presentation of the business process under study in the form of an optimization model consisting of separate interconnected process units. Also, the model describes the main points of its optimization and recommendations for improving the model. The resulting concepts and model should satisfy the current state of the process being studied the cost of building oil and gas facilities, taking into account the uncertainties of the future.

A study of the quality of the development of estimate documentation on the cost of construction at all stages of the implementation of large projects in the oil and gas industry is conducted. The main problems that arise in construction organizations are indicated. The analysis of the choice of the perfect methodology of mathematical modeling of the investigated business process for improving the activity of budget calculations, conducting quality assessment of estimates and criteria for automation of design estimates is performed.

The paper describes the principle of the reengineering of supply chain management integrated scheduling processes in order to increase in efficiency of business process and decrease the decision-making time at collision of plan-fact deviations. The basic concept of business-processes reengineering is analyzed. The experience of reengineering of supply chain integrated scheduling business processes for the oil and gas branch is presented. The bottlenecks of the current practice were revealed. The purpose of this paper is to carry out recommendations for improving business processes based on an analysis of the current realization of the process, his provision with information systems and data flows.

Production planning is very necessary in a business process that aims to minimize the total cost of production. In this research, automation of production planning using data based on the Islamic boarding school business processes. This research uses descriptive research which aims to obtain information in the implementation of the business process planning of Islamic boarding school. The calculation of production costs in this study was carried out in Microsoft Excel by determining the total targets and raw materials of the Islamic boarding school business process, then calculating the production costs of the Islamic boarding school process until finding the optimal production costs for each student for 3 years. - The year of study is Rp. 1,242,542 rupiah / Islamic student for a total of 300 Islamic students.

But knowing the unknown and therefore estimating the relationship between accounting information quality and corporate performance are still a difficult task. The aim of this empirical study is to explore the relationship between the accounting information quality and corporate performance of oil and gas companies in Nigeria. Data on different types of accounting information quality and return on equity were primarily collected from the respondents and analyzed using ordinary least square regression analysis the data with the aid of statistical package for social sciences version 25.0. The empirical result indicates that accounting information quality significantly relate to return n equity; explaining about 85.1% of the total variation in return and equity. Relevance, faithful representation was each found to significantly relate to return on equity. The study empirically conclude that accounting information quality has the potency to make significant contribution to quoted financial performance of oil and gas companies and recommends that having investigated theoretical and empirical issues, also considering the findings and conclusion, the following recommendations were made: There should be need for preparers of accounting information to improve on the accounting information quality devoid of window dressing and creative accounting, regular disclosure, transparency and accountability of such accounting information is required since investors are sensitive to qualitative and quantitative accounting information in assessing the performance of quoted oil companies in and outside Nigeria. Also in line with qualitative and quantitative of accounting information quality, financial statements of quoted oil companies in Nigeria should be prepared and presented according to laid down regulations and ethical standards duly observed to ensure accounting information presented for among users, most and public consumption do represent the oil companies’ economic reality during reported periods.

The stage is set to begin making “green” hydrogen from the world’s abundant supply of seawater. But whether this niche-within-a-niche can stand on its own and become a competitive energy source remains uncertain. Today, only about 1% of man-made hydrogen is considered to be green, and not a single atom of it is produced offshore. In the offshore concept, the green label will be earned by splitting the hydrogen out of desalinated seawater with electrolyzers that run on renewable wind energy. This represents an opportunity for oil and gas companies to not just lower their carbon footprints, but to leverage billions of dollars’ worth of existing offshore infrastructure. Their platforms can host the electrolyzers. Their pipelines can transfer the product to shore. They may even be able to power their offshore facilities using the hydrogen produced at sea. Offshore producers should also have no problem finding a market. PriceWaterhouseCoopers said in a report from last year that green-hydrogen exports could be worth $300 billion annually by 2050, supporting some 400,000 jobs globally. However, the first set of offshore pilots are still in planning mode. It will take a few more years to assess the results once they start up. That means we may not know if offshore hydrogen is commercially viable until decade’s end. Some of the biggest barriers that must be overcome were highlighted by a panel of leading hydrogen experts at the recent Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston. Green Hydrogen in the Red “The major hurdle is still the cost,” explained René Peters. “The cost of hydrogen production with electrolysis is still extremely high compared to gray- and blue-hydrogen production.” Peters is the business director at the Dutch technology group TNO which is one of a dozen partners trying to launch PosHYdon, the pilot for offshore hydrogen production. Startup is expected by early 2023 on a normally unmanned oil and gas platform operated by independent oil and gas company Neptune Energy. Peters’ comments on cost were not relegated to the offshore aspect since all green hydrogen is made onshore today. In terms of tipping point for profitability, these are the relevant benchmarks.

Oil companies, partnerships and entities developed for the exploration and/or production of hydrocarbons typically invest for a reasonably certain period of time, with the assets projected to have little or no value at the end of their life cycle. Historically, production facilities were decommissioned as cost effectively as possible, with limited consideration of the cost of this practice being factored into the initial costs or operating budgets, and the salvage value of the scrap metal was applied to cover the cost of the demolition. Today, most oil and gas producers are required to account for the estimated future cost of dismantling and removing facilities and equipment, as well as restoring land to its previous condition. The estimated costs for future dismantling, removal, and restoration are different to other costs associated with the acquisition and use of productive assets. The impact of potential environmental expenses associated with these practices typically occurs after an asset has ceased production. Planning for environmental costs for asset retirement obligations (AROs) is ideally conducted during the asset's operating life. This is so that compliance costs and other operating expenses are recorded consistently in conformance with accounting policies and regulations. Tentatively identified AROs include: asbestos, batteries, PCB transformers, underground or above ground storage tanks, well abandonment, waste impoundments, mercury, and other components of an active producing facility. Operators need to identify specific performance requirements that may impose obligations on their organisation. Federal, state and local requirements need be considered, as they apply to specific operating conditions.

The technical management of important natural resources such as oil and gas resources is a challenging responsibility that faces oil companies. The increasing global demand for oil and gas coupled with declining oil and gas reserves has forced the oil industry to make significant changes in its business processes. Major oil companies have exploration and production operations that span several continents. Massive amount of data that is generated at all levels in an oil company has to be stored, analyzed and disseminated. In this paper, the changes in the management practices and business processes in the oil industry are traced over the past several decades. The use and application of information technology as change agents is also explored and evaluated. In particular, this paper focuses on the role of visualization centers in the oil and gas industry in revolutionizing effective group decision making that has enabled teams to be more productive, innovative, and outcome-focused.
