Abstract Background: Transfer of knowledge from academia to business is one of the crucial issues for creating innovation. Creation of university spin-offs could significantly improve this transfer. Objectives: The main scientific aim is to examine the differences between universities in European countries and identify factors affecting the probability of creating the university spin-off. The paper is also focused on the differences in the specialization and financial sources of universities. Methods/Approach: We compare selected indicators for higher education institutions in European countries and examine potential determinants affecting the probability of academic spin-off formation. With respect to the main aim, the logit and probit regression analyses have been used. Results: Our results show that the creation of spin-offs is typical on the one hand for highly specialized universities or on the other hand for universities with a wide variety of study programs. They should also have an optimum number of doctoral students and have mostly less funding from tuition fees. Conclusions: Several indicators appear to play an important role in the formation of university spin-off. These indicators are the level of specialization, the share of tuition fees in the University budget, and the share of Ph.D. and foreign students.

The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of various teaching methods used in higher education and the perception of the students regarding these methods. In order to determine the possible ways to obtain strategic advantages and benefit from the strengths, the university has to know what drives foreign students in choosing a certain study program, even if it is outside their country of origin. At the same time, knowing the disadvantages that prevent them from doing so, helps the university include ways to correct the weaknesses or to offer solutions to them. The students, participating in this research, are enrolled at the European University in Madrid, from different study programs and degrees (license, master and doctoral programs) and were asked to answer a questionnaire about the use of teaching methods, about their perceptions upon effective teaching and the reasons that have determined them to choose to follow a study program. The results were in favor of a higher use of projects, group activities and case studies during classes and seminars at the European University of Madrid and of using new technologies in the educational system (e-learning, simulations, use of intranet, and activities in laboratories). As a primer characteristic searched for when choosing a study program, the students mentioned practice, mainly for developing abilities useful for applying for a job as soon as possible. It is, therefore, important to analyze the teaching methods and this research helps us understand how students see the teaching process and which are the methods that help them to better understand and to be more active during classes. Key words: creativity development, innovative teaching, practical activities, teaching methods.

This research is quantitative research. This study aims to find out the factors that most influence the choice of students in choosing Muslim Nusantara Al-Washliyah University. The location of this study was conducted at Muslim Nusantara Al-Washliyah University conducted in August 2019 to December 2019. The results of this study produced six factors that influenced the choice of students in choosing Muslim Nusantara Al-Washliyah University, the most influencing factor or the first factor is the completeness factor of facilities and tuition fees, the second factor is the image of the campus, students activities, and scholarships, the third factor is academic factors and costs, fourth is the factor of study programs and future careers, the fifth factor is the internship and academic factors, the sixth factor of the alliance. This study is only able to analyze the existing factors of 63.134%, the remaining 36.866% are factors that have not been studied in this study, this study produced six factors that influence the first and main factors are the completeness of facilities and tuition fees.

The aim of this study was the primary focus of the international students remains on the academic adjustment aspect, which stays as the cornerstone of their well-being and satisfaction. The questionnaire data collected from four universities, both public and private, were analyzed to provide proof. The results from methods analyzing data stated that there was a positive impact of social-cultural factors affecting well-being. And this research finds no significant evidence of the difference in levels of adaptation between male and female students. The finding also implies that the university and the authority should focus on the positives of the issue, possibly needs some more attention to derive benefits from this potent sector.

Lily Yulianti Farid interviewed Dr. Kanti Pertiwi, founder of the PhD Mama Indonesia online forum (www.phdmamaindonesia.com). Dr. Pertiwi received her PhD from the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne in 2017. She is a mother of three daughters and a lecturer in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Indonesia. She defnes a PhD Mama as a mother from Indonesia who is pursuing her doctoral degree overseas, accompanied by her husband and children.Dr. Pertiwi created the PhD Mama Indonesia forum in 2016 as an online platform for Indonesian female doctoral students to share stories and ideas. As temporary migrants in Australia and elsewhere, these students discuss their shared problems and interests as mothers, wives, and foreign students. The site’s web administrator interviews the members and invites them to write their own stories for the website. Success stories balancing doctoral studies with family life have become the main focus. The digital interaction and connection afforded by the PhD Mama forum highlight the challenges faced by middle-class Indonesian women when their culture, traditional values, and religion infuence their perceptions of how to be a good mother and wife while spending four to seven years overseas to pursue an academic career.

The aim of the study was to determine the significance of the use of probit modeling and the impact of sources and barriers to innovation activity and to determine its effects, in particular investments in innovation and implementation of new solutions. The main hypothesis of this paper is the claim that the innovative activity of enterprises is dependent on the diversity of factors affecting the parties, and both the source and the barriers can be influenced in different directions. The collected material for research (545 surveys) were analyzed by means of probability. The reason for the choice of this method is the fact that in the case of dichotomous variables (ie, taking the value of 0-no, 1-yes) the use of multiple regression is pointless. The values of this function may in fact be negative, which deprives them of interpretive meaning. An alternative test method in this situation is the probit regression. Positively to the implementation of new solutions affects search for information on innovations in science. The transfer of knowledge and the creation of new technological solutions, in particular, contribute to international research bodies. This strong links with R&D in the future may result in the achievement of superiority in the region. Interestingly it appears that keeping a positive effect on innovation activity affects their high cost. It’s not disstimulating on companies to implement such new products and processes. It can therefore draw the thesis that high expenditures on innovative activities of entrepreneurs make thorough preparation for innovation processes in their companies in order to minimize the risk of failure of implementing the new solution. In this way, many of them are successful. In addition, this thesis confirms the correctness of the fact that more than half of the surveyed companies indicated the cost barrier, and so much of the reasoning confirms the research sample.

This research is based on learning in tertiary institutions which requires more active, independent and creative learners. of the importance of using appropriate learning methods in mathematics learning at the university level. SCAMPER is a technique that can be used to spark creativity and help overcome challenges that might be encountered in the form of a list of general goals with ideas spurring questions. This research aims to develop students' problem solving skills using the SCAMPER method in terms of student motivation. The population in this study were all semester V students of mathematics education study programs, which were also the research samples. From the analysis of the data it was found that the SCAMPER method was better in developing students' problem solving abilities with an average increase of 0.52 compared to conventional methods with an average increase of 0.45. In addition there is a difference between improving students' problem solving abilities when viewed from their motivation. But there is no interaction between motivational factors and learning methods.

Abstract The growing number of foreign applicants looking forward to getting education in Ukrainian medical universities makes us find the ways how to improve and make effective the pre-professional training system of foreign medical applicants for further education. The article deals with the issues of the history of formation and development of the preprofessional training system of foreign medical applicants in Ukraine. On the ground of the electronic databases of the official websites of higher educational establishments, the data on years of opening first offices of the dean, departments and preparatory faculties for foreign medical applicants in Ukrainian medical universities are analyzed and systematized. Also the data on the setting up preparatory faculties at other universities who carry out licensed training of foreign students of the medical profile are presented. The data on the operating and management of such institutions in the system of the University administration are generalized. It’s revealed that during the years of its functioning the pre-professional training has changed, in particular the system was commercialized and the institutions involved in training foreign applicants have been reorganized. The modern trends in teaching foreign medical students at the preparatory faculties of the Ukrainian medical universities are displayed. Based on the analysis of the data it is concluded that the system of the pre-professional training of foreign medical applicants was set up in the 50s-60s years of the twentieth century. During this time, some positive experience in the preparation of future international medical specialists has been gained. The system of the pre-professional training of foreign medical applicants has been comprehensively improved and an effective system of managing foreign medical applicants has been created.

This study seeks to address the impact of service quality affecting international student's satisfaction towards loyalty tothe Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia(UTHM). The aim of thestudy is to develop relationship between service quality factor and loyalty to the university from the international students’ perspectives. The study adopted quantitative approach where data was collected through questionnaire survey and analysed statistically. A total of 246 responses were received and found to be valid. The model was developed and analysed using AMOS-SEM software. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) function of the software was to assessed the measurement models and found that all the models achieved goodness of fit. Then path analysis function was used to assessed structural model and found that service qualityfactors have a significant effect on the students’ satisfaction and thus affecting the loyaltyto the university. Hopefully the outcome form this study will benefit the university in providing services especially to the international students.

"Introduction to Risk and Safety of Air Navigation" is an authorized script compiled on the basis of the curriculum of the course "Introduction to Risk and Safety of Air Navigation" which is taught in undergraduate studies at the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering. The scripts are primarily intended for students of undergraduate (bachelor) studies at the Department of Air Transport and Traffic at the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering. Scripts can be useful to both master's and doctoral students at the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, especially those who have not completed undergraduate studies at the Department of Air Transport and Traffic. They can also be useful to air transport and aeronautical engineers in order to expand and update knowledge in the field of air navigation safety. The material presented in these scripts relates mainly to civil aviation and is largely based on international standards, recommended practices, regulations and documents which deal with issues related to air navigation safety. As these standards, regulations and documents are subject to frequent changes and alterations, users of these scripts are advised to also use the original (updated) documents, which are listed in the references, in order to take into account any changes that have occurred after the release of the scripts.
