Abstract Entrepreneurial education is the new must of today’s young generations. Either the teenagers or the young adults envision a career in IT&C, medicine, law or architecture, nowadays society requires from them to possess knowledge about how a business works or how it can be successfully developed. This brings up the question for curricula developers when should be introduced business education to children. For the time being, in Romania as well as in most of the European countries, they make acquaintance with the entrepreneurial education during high school. The present study wants to throw a glimpse at how pupils themselves perceive the study of entrepreneurial education and how effective is for their future to start learning about entrepreneurship concepts around the age of 16. Consequently, with the help of a quantitative research materialized in a questionnaire, the study has the objective to determine the perception of high school students in Romania about the entrepreneurial education and to evaluate its impact in a number of different matters. They have been focused primarily on the decision of their future careers and the role the teacher plays in this process. The contributions of this study could be of high importance for both curricula developers that must take into account students and market’s needs, as well as for the universities which offer business administration study programs. For the case of the universities, in order to develop coherent study programs, they need to be aware of the students’ basic level of knowledge regarding entrepreneurship and their understanding gained through the mandatory subject of Entrepreneurial Education during the high school time.

The article presents the structure, content and results of approbation of the C++ programming course developed for the 10th grade students of physics and mathematics profile and implemented as part of the academic subject “Informatics”. The aim of the course is to develop in the student not only knowledge and skills in programming, but also his algorithmic culture and programming culture as important qualities of a potential IT-specialist. This is facilitated by special control of educational process by the teacher, which consists in monitoring the activities of students in writing programs and timely correction of this activity. The assessment of the level of development of student algorithmic culture and programming culture relative to the basic level of their formation (when mastering the basics of algorithmization and programming in the 9th grade) was carried out on the basis of a number of criteria presented in the article. The results of approbation showed that the specially organized teacher activity makes it possible to increase the level of algorithmic culture and programming culture of high school students when studying the basics of programming in C++.

Bullying is still a troubling social problem. Bullying cases that occur in high school students have caused many problems both physically and psychologically. Bullying is a phenomenon that is very much, rooted, passed down from generation to generation. The seriousness of bullying is a big problem for all of us. The level of knowledge and concern for teachers, parents, health service teams, and the Indonesian people towards bullying is still low. Information systems are needed for management in making decisions to overcome bullying problems. Researchers in this study created a system that can be used as a means of delivering information from students to schools. The creation of this system is based on a system that is easily accessible, secure, and guarantees the confidentiality of the complainants. So that this product can help schools identify cases of bullying in schools, who are the perpetrators of bullying, and victims of bullying, with the hope that schools can stop the chain of bullying events and prevent bullying at schools. The scheme in this study is to design a website that reports bullying and provides information. The system design model used in this study is a prototype model and data was collected through observation, interviews and literature study. The programming language used is PHP and software for designing interfaces using the laravel framework. Making a database using MySQL with the XAMMP application.

The aim of this study is to examine whether reading habits have any effects on the academic achievement of the biology course of high school students in Turkey. In the research, the relational screening model was preferred from the quantitative research models and the phenomenological approach was preferred from the qualitative research models, so the mixed method was used. The study group consists of 266 students studying in the final year of various high schools and who took biology courses before in the province of Kars in Turkey. Data were collected by the questionnaire form prepared by the researchers. In the questionnaire, the participants were asked 12 questions in total; 4 questions to determine the variables of the type of school, education fields, gender, school report marks, 5 close-ended questions to be thought to be able to determine their reading habits, 2 open-ended questions and 1 metaphor question. Frequency and percentage values were calculated for descriptive analysis of the answers given to the questionnaire items. Chi-square analysis was used to examine the relationship between demographic characteristics and the reading habits of the students, and the content analysis technique was used to analyze metaphors.

Article visualizations:

AbstractDespite an almost endless list of possible study programs and occupational opportunities, high school students frequently focus on pursuing a small number of well-known study programs. Students also often follow gender-typical paths and restrict their attention to study programs in which the majority of students consists of same-gendered people. This choice pattern has far-reaching consequences, including persistent gender segregation and an undersupply of graduates in emerging sectors of the industry. Building on rational choice and social psychological theory, we argue that this pattern partly occurs due to information deficits that may be altered by counseling interventions. To assess this claim empirically, we evaluated the impact of a counseling intervention on the intended choice of major among high school students in Germany by means of a randomized controlled trial (RCT). We estimate the effect by instrumental variable estimation to account for two-sided non-compliance. Our results show that the intervention has increased the likelihood that participants will consider less well-known or gender-atypical study programs, particularly for high school students with lower starting levels of information. Supplementary analyses confirm that a positive impact on information seems to be one of the relevant causal mechanisms. These results suggest that counseling services have the potential to guide high school students to less gender-typical and well-known majors, possibly reducing gender segregation and smoothing labor market transitions after graduation.

Abstract In the context of an increasing competition among Romanian universities for attracting students, developing a strong brand that appeals to the stakeholders’ needs and desires, while incorporating the institutions values and principles, is a desired course of action. A well-structured relatable brand enables future students to identify themselves with an institution and helps them in taking an important decision that could determine the outcome of their future. The present study analyses the factors that high school students consider when choosing to attend a certain university, through a quantitative research performed among 275 high school students from 33 high school institutions in Bucharest, Romania. Result helped classify the most important markers of a reputable university, which universities should consider when building branding programs. At the same time, universities’ communication strategies should appeal to values that they share with their targeted audiences in order to increase their attractiveness.
