Millennials are the dominant generation population in today's productive age. After conducting a study of this generation, one of the prominent characteristics of millennial is its interest in climate change and the environment. Another prominent characteristic is entrepreneurship as the fourth most important priority for millennials in the future. Current environmental issues are still a topic for discussion, especially the problem of plastic waste. According to data stated in the 2018 Indonesian Environment Statistics, DKI Jakarta produces 7,165.53-tonnes of waste in 2018. According to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Sanitation Office, organic waste, paper and plastic are the largest compositions produced with a percentage of each, 53.75 %, 14.92% and 14.02%. This shows that the use of plastic is still dominant in Jakarta. The Head of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency also stated that the TPST Bantargebang will be full in 2011, so reducing the amount of waste is an urgency in Jakarta. Responding to this, the Shared Manufactory Hub, became a vessel to increase awareness of non-wasteful lifestyles and reduce waste, as well as awareness to use recycled materials. The Shared Manufactory Hub is also a place for millennials, individuals and communities, to collaborate in designing and building innovative products made from recycled plastic. Shared Manufactory Hub is located close to the DKI Jakarta Waste Bank as a supplier of raw plastic waste. This manufacturing center provides a variety of related facilities, ranging from idea search, design, production, to publication. The synergy between industry and manufacturing allows the development of manufacturing businesses to become easier because of the ease of obtaining the basic ingredients for making innovative products. The 2018 Nobel Economics Prize was awarded to two American economists - William D. Nordhaus and Paul M. Romer - who designed methods for better assessing environmental issues and technological advances on growth. This year’s Laureates, Nordhaus was the first person to create an intergrated model to assess interactions between society and nature and Romer laid the foundation for what is now called endogenous growth theory. According to the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences, these two macroeconomists’ research have helped “significantly broaden the scope of economic analysis by constructing models that explain how the market economy interacts with nature and knowledge” which integrates climate change measures into long-term sustainable economic growth. The challenge of global climate change requires a radical change in our understanding of environmental issues, for its causes are linked to our dominant development model and its impact is significant at the grassroots level. Addressing energy production and consumption remains at the heart of any feasible solution. In this article, I define energy management (EM) as a systemic and systematic endeavor to optimize energy use through engineering and management tools in order to achieve political, economic, and environmental objectives. I also discuss what underpins EM’s ethical dimension, focusing on sustainability, and critically analyze the Islamic perspective to elaborate a value-based, universally acceptable, realistically applicable, and objective environmental ethic. By using EM as a vehicle toward sustainability, hence addressing climate change, I evaluate the outcomes of such a radical change in our understanding of environmental issues. I conclude by investigating whether a difference in vision with regard to faith and the hereafter can hinder a common engagement. Evidence is also sought from relevant specialist studies by non-Muslims, in which such Islamic principles as ordering the good and prohibiting the evil, ijmā‘, istiḥsān, istiṣḥāb, or istiṣlāḥhave been implemented to a given extent in all but name.

This booklet narrates the stories of five female journalists from Pakistan who are working on environment- and climate-change-related issues. Women are being disproportionately and adversely impacted by climate change and female journalists are uniquely placed to understand and share their stories. However, these journalists are ‘missing in action’ from the media in sharing their experiences of environmental activism and climate action. The publication covers a range of challenges journalists face, from limitations on mobility and harassment, to gender-based discrimination in media houses. It highlights why environmental issues sometimes make headlines while remaining dormant at others.

This research focuses on how leadership has a major role in addressing environmental issues, especially through the garbage bank program as a form of case study. Furthermore, the problems that occur in the midst of society are often rely solely on political will or political desire to solve them. The research is to know and learn Lurah's (head of village) leadership in the management of waste banks specifically. This research is qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques through structured interviews, documentation and observations. Researchers conducted an analysis using leadership theory from Yukl, where the theory discusses leadership comprehensively. Researchers only focus on five parts of the concept that are considered relevant, namely: visionary, guidance, affiliative, democratic and communicative concepts. The results of this study based on these dimensions are good enough Lurah (head of village) leadership. But there are several things that are considered able to optimize the running of the program through the role of Lurah (Head of village) leadership, namely: first, involving active knots and community leaders such as MUI, academics to support scientific aspects, and professionals in the field of practical management. The prominence of media events in 2006, including the release of former US Vice President Al Gore's documentary An Inconvenient Truth, the publication of the Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change, the report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, even the death of ‘eco-celebrity’ Steve Irwin, suggested a need to devote an issue of Media International Australia to media and the environment. The study of environmentalism through the lens of media, journalism and communication is all but absent in Australia, with some notable exceptions. This issue of MIA goes some way towards redressing the absences identified by Tom Jagtenberg and David McKie in their influential book Eco-Impacts and the Greening of Postmodernity, published more than 10 years ago, which claimed for the environment an equal status with traditional research foci: class, race and gender. The current public interest in environmental issues emphasises this point, although it is not unprecedented. History shows that environmental issues move in waves to and from the heart of public debate. As well as showcasing some of the field's distinct approaches and traditions, the articles in this issue contribute to a better understanding of this current wave and its likely aftermath. In doing so, it goes some way towards moving the environment in the direction of a more central position on the research and public agenda.

Abstract. It is a matter of current study to determine potential climate changes in different parts of the world, especially in regions like a basin which has the potential to affect socioeconomic and environmental issues in a defined area. This study provides a comparison between several climate change indices trends of two very different basins in Mexico, one located in the northern arid region (the Conchos River basin) and the other in the southern humid area (the Usumacinta River basin). First, quality control, homogenization, and completion of the missing data were applied before calculating the climate change indices and their respective trends for the combined period 1961–1994. A clear warming signal was found for the two basins in addition to an increment in the DTR, in agreement with other studies in Mexico. Also, the Conchos River basin was found to be more humid and the Usumacinta River basin drier, in accordance to a supposed seesaw behavior indicated in previous analysis.

Urban is identical to the high consumptive behavior of the people who will then leave a lot of garbage too. The uncontrolled volume of waste will certainly disrupt the survival of the people who live in that place. Waste itself can be divided into two categories, namely organic waste and inorganic waste, which means that there is still a possibility to be reprocessed. So that the garbage does not interfere with the survival of the community, a waste collection facility or a waste bank is made which will later be collected again at the Final Disposal Site. Research conducted using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. This research was conducted with the aim to find out how much influence the existence of the Talangagung Kepanjen Final Disposal on the surrounding community's economy. From the results of the study, it was found that the Talangagung Landfill is in addition to being a landfill, as well as an educational tourism site. Besides Talangagung Landfill has economic potential that can help the economy of the surrounding residents.

Keywords: economy; final disposal site; educational tourism

Abstract. Along with the growing number of the world populations, there always followed by troubles waste derived from trash, organic waste, and non-organic waste. Many attempts to deal with an organic waste such as plastic waste, rubber, and etc, has been continued, so those waste can be recycled and reused for daily demand. On the other hand, organic waste can be used as fertilizer, and basic material for the battery that results an environmental friendly alternative energy. Especially to utilize the organic waste, the making of battery has been done that yields highest voltage, 1.67 volts. This research aims to modify the mass filler of the battery that obtained from durian skin which is processed by mixing it with acid and drying it using oven, there also other technique by drying the durian skin under the sun for about 7 days which varied masses of 3 gram, 5 gram, and 10 gram. The highest voltage that obtained is 1.67 volt using 10 gram durian skin. Further, the battery with 10 grams durian skin is then fabricated in a specified number to light up the LED. This battery placed either in serial or parallel circuit to obtain varied voltage.
