METACOGNITION APPROACH METHODE TOWARDS PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS AND ATTITUDE PERFORMANCE FOR PRACTICIONER STUDENTS NURSE TANJUNGPURA UNIVERSITY

Background: Nursing education learning process goals are create qualified nurses with knowledge, attitude, and good skills, it is prior to an emotional intelligences. The purpose of this study was identifying the influence of metacognition approach towards problem solving skills and attitude performance for practicioner nursing students in Tanjungpura University. Methode. This study was quasy experimental without control group, with 17 respondents as total sampling, the subjects was nursing students of Tanjungpura University. Data was collected in RSUD dr.Abdul Aziz, Singkawang, West Kalimantan on May – July 2014. Each subject was three times implemented by Tutorial in Clinic (TIC) learning system with metacognition approach. Results. Data was analised by paired t test and found that both of variables, problem solving skills and attitude performance, each has significant p 0.0001 ( p values < 0.05.Discussion. Learning process with metacognition implication is be able to improve nursing students critical thinking ability that showed by mean scores improvement of problem solving skills and attitude performance. It is recommended that school of nursing in Indonesia should implement this model into clinical practice for nursing students. This study investigates the effect of the use of teachers’ Lecture models combined with cooperative learning methods to improve students’ problem-solving skills in physics compare with the control group who were not exposed to the lecture model combined with cooperative learning methods from effect size value. The research method was a quasi-experimental research. The sample consisted of 33 students of 10th grade in middle schools (senior high school), SMAN 1 Sungai Penuh, Jambi Province where they ware learn at work and energy concept. Students' achievements, as well as their problem-solving skills of work and energy concept were assessed by pretest-posttest with an essay test. The results showed that the experimental group’s learning process has a high effect size value to problem-solving skills more than control group learning process. That shows the lecture model combined with cooperative learning method more effective than lecture model.

The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of a simulation nursing education program in terms of clinical reasoning, problem-solving process, self-efficacy, and clinical competency using the Outcome-Present State-Test (OPT) model in nursing students. The participants comprised 45 undergraduate nursing students recruited from two universities in Korea. The number of nursing students assigned to the experimental group and control group were 25 and 20, respectively. For a period of two weeks, the experimental group received a simulation nursing education program using the OPT model, while the control group received a traditional clinical practicum. The data were analyzed using prior homogeneity tests (Fisher’s exact test and paired t-test); ANCOVA was performed to investigate the differences in dependent variables between the two groups. There was a significant improvement in clinical reasoning (F = 10.59, p = 0.002), problem-solving process (F = 30.92, p < 0.001), and self-efficacy (F = 36.03, p < 0.001) in the experimental group as compared to the control group (F = 10.59, p = 0.002). Moreover, the experimental group showed significantly higher scores in clinical competency than the control group (F = 11.07, p = 0.002). This study demonstrates that the simulation nursing education program using the OPT model for undergraduate students is very effective in promoting clinical reasoning, problem-solving processes, self-efficacy, and clinical competency.

Introduction. Previous studies have found that severe stress can occur in nursing students because of their education system; however there have not been any studies to address stress in nursing students, conducted in Indonesian. The studies reinforce that stress in nursing students, is an important factor for nursing lecturers to consider in nursing education. Students felt helpless when they could not change situations they did not like and complained that the learning approach was authoritarian. This study identifi ed stressors in nursing students and effect of stress in the students’ learning process. Method. A case study was used with cognitive appraisal theory from Lazarus and Folkman (1984), as the theoretical proposition. Data was collected by utilizing in-depth interviews with nursing students. Results. There were fi ve evident themes found in this study related to stress and its effect on the students’ learning process. These Themes were: (1). Dormitory living, (2). Learning in the school, (3). Learning in the clinical setting, (4). Personal and socialbeliefs, and (5). Short-term and long-term effects. Discussion. Results indicated that education process used in this particular school of nursing, created stress which impacted adversely on the students’ learning process. Some of the problems identifi ed are specific to nursing education in Indonesian.Keywords: psychological stress, stressor, cognitive appraisal, coping

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between social network characteristics, flow in class, communication skills, and problem-solving skills of nursing students in simulation.Methods: For this study a descriptive survey design was used. Participants were 100 nursing students who attended in 2 university and completed the self-report questionnaire. Data were collected from October 14 to December 6, 2019 and were analyzed with SPSS 26.0, AMOS 21.0 and Netminer 4 evaluation version.Results: It was confirmed that the task advice network centrality of nursing students fully mediates their communication skills and affects their problemsolving skills and that friendship network centrality completely mediates flow in class and communication skills, and affects problem-solving skills. Task advice network centrality, friendship network centrality, flow in class, and communication skills were found to explain problem solving skills by 51.8%.Conclusion: In order to increase the problem-solving skills of nursing students in simulation nursing education, a strategy to improve their flow in class and communication skills is essential and it suggests the need to make it part of the curriculum. In addition, in order to increase the communication skills of nursing students, it is necessary to be careful when making a team to minimize the team members isolated within the team so that smooth interaction can occur.

Nursing education is strategically positioned to prepare nursing students in attaining management and leadership skills necessary for future professional nursing roles. This review appraised and synthesized outcomes of using simulation in pre-licensure nursing management and leadership courses within the last 10 years. This is an integrative review of original articles published within the last 10 years. Four (PsychINFO, CINAHL, PubMed, and SCOPUS) bibliographic databases were searched to identify relevant articles using the following terms: management, leadership, simulation, nurse education, and student. Ten (10) articles were included in the review. Four essential themes were identified from the content analysis: acquisition of or understanding of delegation, enhanced teamwork or collaboration capacities, improved decision-making and problem solving skills, and increased communication skills.  Incorporation of simulation in nursing management and leadership courses has the potential to enhance nursing students’ delegation skills, problem solving capacities, skills in making decisions, and communication and teamwork skills.   Keywords: simulation; nursing; leadership; management; student; education.

The research aimed to know (1) the effect of the implementation cooperative learning group investigation type with an outdoor learning system on problem-solving skills, (2) the effect of the implementation cooperative learning group investigation type with an outdoor learning system on the mastery of concepts, and (3) the simultaneous effect of cooperative learning group investigation type with an outdoor learning system on problem-solving skills and the mastery of concepts. This research was a quasi-experimental research with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population was the seventh-grade students of SMP N 2 Tempel. The sample selection technique used the purposive sampling technique; class of VIII C played as an experimental class and VIII D played as control class. The instruments on data collection used problem-solving tests and mastery of concept tests. The parametric test used in this research which was an independent sample t-test followed by effect size, and MANOVA. The results showed: (1) there was an effect of the implementation cooperative learning group investigation type with an outdoor learning system on problem-solving skills with poor category, (2) there was an effect of the implementation cooperative learning group investigation type with an outdoor learning system on the mastery of concepts with high effects, and (3) there was a simultaneous effect of cooperative learning group investigation type with an outdoor learning system on problem-solving skills and the mastery of concepts.

IntroductionOne of the objectives of nursing education is helping nursing students acquire the knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to deal with various problems.ObjectivesThe study is descriptive.AimsTo determine the “problem solving skills” of the 1st-year and 4th-year students.MethodsThe study is a descriptive one. The study sample comprised a total of 153 students in their 1st-year and 4th-year in Department of Nursing, Cumhuriyet University, Turkey. The research data were collected by means of the “Personal Information Form” developed in light of the relevant literature review and the “Problem Solving Inventory” which was developed by Heppner and Peterson (1982) and tested in Turkey in 1990 by Taylan in terms of fist validity-reliability properties.ResultsOf the first year students, 84.9% lived in a nuclear family, 61.6% lived in a city, 39.5% were first-born children. Of the fourth year students, 81.0% lived in a nuclear family, 67.2% lived in a city, 37.3% were first-born children. All of the students financial needs were met by their parents. There was no difference between the total “problem solving confidence” scores of the first year students (85.942 ± 16.649) and the fourth year students (81.866 ± 19.168) (p > 0.05). According to the sub-scales of the inventory, the first year students received higher scores than the fourth year students in “problem solving confidence”, “approach-avoidance behavior” and “personal control” (p > 0.05).ConclusionsThe education received by the students did not make a difference in the development of their problem solving skills.

Introduction: In order to maintain nursing care in the most effective and quality way in There lationship between patient and nurse and nurses to manage this dynamic process, problem solving skills must be developed. Individuals in the learning environment are people who are independent from each other and have different characteristics and share the same environment. Objectives: To determine the learning styles of individuals and to manage the education process. Method: This study was planned to determine There lationship between the learning styles and problem solving skills of the students who received nursing education. The universe of There search consisted of 130 students in İzmir Bakırçay University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department. In the study, the data were collected between 1-29 February 2020. Results: It was determined that 26.9% of the students participating in the study were male and 73.1% were female. It was observed that 33.8% of the students had learning style that parses, 22.3% changes, 28.5% assimilates and 15.4% places. It was determined that the problem solving skills of the students were moderate according to the score they received from the problem solving inventory (X = 82,09). There was a significant relationship between participants' general problem solving approach levels and Kolb learning style groups (p = 0.04). Conclusion: It is thought that the education given to students' learning styles will support their problem solving skills and the success rate will increase.

The environmental education course currently does not integrate problem-solving problem skills. The purpose of this study was analyzing the results of applying integration on problem-based learning with the RMS (reading, mind mapping, and sharing) learning model. The research method was a quasi-experimental with pre-test-post-test control group design. The study was conducted on 56 students who took an environmental education course in Natural Science Education Universitas Tidar. Data analysis used an Anacova test with a pretest as its covariate. The study results stated that 1) developed learning model integrates PBL with RMS learning model consisting of identifying problems, finding relevant information about problems through reading activities, analyzing problem: group discussion through mind mapping, providing solutions, and sharing results of mind mapping. 2) The integration of PBL with the RMS learning model indicated by an average score of post-test in the integration of PBL with the RMS learning model class of 68.46, and the traditional class of 48.92. 3) the learning process that occurs in the integration of PBL with the RMS learning model class shows that learning is run well, which is indicated by students' average evaluation score of the lecturer learning process. The integration of PBL and RMS model can be utilized by teachers and lecturers in Biology learning to have thinking skills and solve daily problems.

The purpose of this research are: 1) to know the learning activity of learners mathematics which is taught by Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS), and 2) model to know the ability of problem solving of mathematics learners who taught by SSCS learning model in the class XI MIA MAN 1 Muara Labuh academic year 2016/2017. This research belongs to a kind of quasi-experimental research with randomized control group only design. In this study design, a group of subjects taken from a particular population were randomly assigned into two groups, the experimental group and the control group. After analyzing the data, it is known that the learning activity of the students after applying the SSCS learning model has improved towards the better from the first meeting to the fifth meeting, ie 35%, 45%, 55%, 68%, 77%. Based on the hypothesis test obtained ttable = 1.645 and tcount = 2.598 so obtained (2.598> 1.645) at 95% confidence interval. Because tcount > ttable then hypothesis in this research accepted. Thus, students 'math-problem-solving skills taught by SSCS learning models are higher than the students' uneducated mathematical problem-solving skills with SSCS learning modelsKeywords: Problem solving abilities, search, solve, sreate and share (SSCS) learning models
