Many alternative contraceptives can be used as needed. The most effective type of contraception is injection contraception because it is relatively safe, effective, simple and inexpensive. Contraceptive users must be selective in choosing contraception because there is no method of contraception that is safe and effective for all acceptors. The side effects of Medroxy Progesterone Acetat injection include bleeding disorders such as amenorrhoea, weight gain, high blood pressure, acne, spotting. Medroxy Progesterone Acetat is a progestin contraceptive regimen that is often used and works long-term. The mechanism of action of Medroxy Progesterone Acetate injection is to inhibit gonadotropin secretion so that it will prevent the maturation of primary follicles in the ovary and also prevent ovulation and cause endometrial depletion.The research design is the post test only control group design. The population in this research  are the white rats species Rattus norvegicus Wistar strain. The samples are taken randomly from all populations that met the following sample criteria: Female rats, Aged 12-14 weeks, having a body weight of 150 - 200 grams.The results showed that Medroxy Progesterone Acetate hormone affects the thickness of the endometrium, and there is a difference in the histological picture of endometrial thickness due to the administration of the Medroxy Progesterone Acetate hormone and without the administration of the Medroxy Progesterone Acetate hormone

Tujuan: untuk mengetahui dosis efektif enoxaparin dalam mencegah terjadinya trombosis pada anastomosis mikrovaskular. Metode: penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dengan rancangan the randomized post test only control group design. Terdapat 33 tikus jantan Rattus norvegicus Wistar strain yang dikelompokkan menjadi tiga perlakuan yaitu perlakuan A (enoxaparin 0,75 mg/kg), B (enoxaparin 1  mg/kg), dan C (kontrol). Tuck model anastomosis dilakukan pada arteri femoralis, kemudian luas trombus yang terjadi pada pembuluh darah dibandingkan dengan diameter lumen pembuluh darah diukur dengan graticule lens dan dinyatakan dalam persen. Hasil: trombus terbentuk pada semua subyek penelitian baik pada kelompok perlakuan maupun kontrol. Rerata persentase luas trombus pada kelompok enoxaparin 0,75 mg/kg adalah 24,3%, enoxaparin 1 mg/kg sebesar 19,8% dan kelompok NaCl 0,9% sebesar 79,4%. Terdapat perbedaan antara perlakuan pemberian enoxaparin dosis 0,75 mg/kg dan 1 mg/kg dengan kontrol, namun tidak ada perbedaan bermakna rerata persentase luas trombus diantara kelompok enoxaparin dosis 0,75 mg/kg dan dosis 1 mg/kg (p=0,624). Perlu dilakukan penelitian secara klinis guna melihat efektivitas enoxaparin dalam meningkatkan patensi anastomosis pada free flap maupun replantasi. Simpulan: pemberian enoxaparin dosis 0,75 mg/kg dan enoxaparin dosis 1 mg/kg secara subkutan efektif mengurangi persentase luas trombus pada anastomosis arteri femoralis tikus. Tidak terdapat perbedaan efektivitas yang bermakna dalam mengurangi persentase luas trombus pada anastomosis arteri femoralis tikus setelah diberikan dosis enoxaparin 0,75 mg/kg dan 1 mg/kg secara subkutan.

Objective: This study aimed to verify the effect of oral siper-metrin exposure to decrease serum estradiol 17b levels and increased malondialdehyde (MDA) in the uterus level of female Wistar strain rats (Rattus norvegicus).Materials and Methods: The method of this study was true experimental post test only control group in vivo using 24 female rats, divided into 3 groups treated by administering a dose of 5, 10 and 20 mg/kg sipermetrin for 28 days and one control group. Then blood samples were taken from the heart for measurement of serum estradiol 17b levels by ELISA and uterine organs were taken for measurement of Malondialdehyde (MDA) with spectro-photometry method.Results: The results of the measurement of serum estradiol 17b and uterus malondialdehyde (MDA) levels of female Wistar strain rats (Rattus norvegicus) showed an opposite pattern, where there was a decline in serum estradiol 17b levels and an increase in uterus malondialdehyde (MDA) level. There was a significant difference (p=0.000<alpha) in 17b estradiol serum and uterus Malondialdehyde (MDA) levels of female rats between control group and group exposed to sipermetrin treatment for 28 days.Conclusions: Oral sipermetrin exposure can decrease serum levels of estradiol 17b and increase uterine levels of malondi-aldehyde (MDA) of female Wistar strain rats (Rattus norvegicus).

AbstractBackground : Diabetes mellitus is the most common metabolic syndrome in the whole world with an incidence of 1-8%. This disease arises when insufficient insulin is produced or insulin cannot function properly.The ability of coriander juice water extract is expected to reduce blood glucose levels because the action is similar to insulin and can stimulate insulin release. Purpose : Knowing effectiveness coriander extract (Coriandrum sativum L.)to decline blood sugar levels in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus L.) wistar strain induced by alloxan. Method : This is a pure experimental study (true-experiment) using a pre and post test design with control group design using subjects namely white rats (Rattus norvegicus L.) male Wistar strain aged 10-12 weeks with a weight of 150-200 grams. By looking at changes in blood sugar levels during administration of alloxan and administration of coriander extract. Results : There were significant changes in some groups induced alloxan (p <0.05), but the effect of coriander extract was not very significant (p> 0.05). Conclusion : Coriander extract can control blood sugar levels to be stable or normal, but it takes longer and more research.  Keywords : coriander extract, blood sugar levels, alloxan

Abstract: One of the factors that influences aging process is hormonal imbalance that can occur due to the intake of food or drink containing hormone. Children aged more than 1 year with difficulty in eating are usually given Nutrisure Gold®. Analysis has shown that Nutrisure Gold® contains estrogen dan progesterone. This study was aimed to prove that Nutrisure Gold® could increase estrogen and progesterone levels in Wistar female rats. This was an experimental study with the post test only control group design. Subjects were 36 female Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) aged 21 days divide into 2 groups, each of 18 rats. The control group was given white rice 3.11 g and aqua bidest meanwhile the treatment group was given Nutrisure Gold® 0.93 g three times a day for 28 days. The results showed that the average estrogen level in the control group was 44.26±11.49 pg/ml and of the treatment group was 45.30±7.66 pg/ml. The average progesterone level in the control group was 22.43±3.62 ng/ml and of the treatment group was 27.44±2.28 ng/ml. Data of estrogen level were analyzed with t-independent test that showed t = -0.320 and P = 0.751 (P >0.05) meanwhile of progesterone level showed t = -4.978 and P = 0.000 (P <0.05). Conclusion: After treatment, the average estrogen levels in both groups did not differ significantly meanwhile the average progesterone levels in both groups showed significant difference.Keywords: liquid replacement meal, estrogen, progesteroneAbstrak: Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi proses penuaan ialah ketidak seimbangan hormon yang dapat terjadi antara lain akibat pemberian asupan makanan atau minuman yang mengandung hormon. Anak-anak berusia satu tahun ke atas dengan masalah sulit makan sering diberikan makanan pengganti cair Nutrisure Gold®. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa Nutrisure Gold® mengandung hormon estrogen dan progesteron. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa pemberian Nutrisure Gold® meningkatkan kadar hormon estrogen dan progesteron pada tikus putih galur Wistar betina umur 21 hari. Jenis penelitian ialah eksperimental dengan post test only control group design, Subyek penelitian ialah 36 ekor tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur Wistar betina umur 21 hari yang dibagi atas 2 kelompok, masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 18 ekor. Kelompok kontrol diberikan nasi putih 3,11 gr dan aquabides sedangkan kelompok perlakuan diberikan Nutrisure Gold® 0,93 gr 3 kali sehari selama 28 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata kadar estrogen kelompok kontrol 44,26±11,49 pg/ml dan rerata kelompok perlakuan 45,30±7,66 pg/ml. Rerata kadar progesteron kelompok kontrol 22,43±3,62 ng/ml dan rerata kelompok perlakuan 27,44±2,28 ng/ml. Analisis kemaknaan kadar estrogen dengan uji t-independent menunjukkan t = -0.320 dan p = 0,751 (P >0,05). Analisis kemaknaan kadar progesteron dengan uji t independent menunjukkan nilai t = -4,978 dan p = 0.000 (P < 0,05). Simpulan: Setelah diberi perlakuan, rerata kadar estrogen pada kedua kelompok tidak berbeda bermakna tetapi rerata kadar progesteron pada kedua kelompok menunjukkan perbedaan bermakna.Kata kunci: makanan pengganti cair, estrogen, progesteron

Purwoceng (Pimpinella pruatjan Molk) is an original Indonesian herb which is known to have an aphrodisiac effect. The active compounds in Purwoceng potentially have hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic effects.This study was aimed to analyze the effect of subchronic administration of Purwoceng roots ethanol extract to Wistar Strain of Rattus norvegicus rats. The method of this subchronic toxicity study was an experimental post test only with control group design. Forty male Rattus norvegicus were randomly divided into four groups and get 28-days treatment. Group A as control received aquadest and 1% CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose), group B, C, and D were given Purwoceng roots ethanol extract of 42, 84, and 168 mg/KgBW/day and 1% CMC. Parameters tested were the levels of urea, creatinine, SGPT (serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase), SGOT(serum oxaloacetic pyruvic transaminase), kidney and hepar histopatology.The results showed a statistically significant for the liver histopathological in group B, creatinine, urea, and kidney histopathology  in group C. Our study concluded that subchronic administration of Purwoceng (Pimpinella pruatjan Molk) roots ethanol extract could induce hepatotoxicity at the 42 mg/KgBW/day dose level and nephrotoxicity at the 84 mg/KgBW/day dose level.

ABSTRACT Background: Among the various medicinal plants, black cumin (Nigella sativa) appears as an herb with a historical and religious background due to a lot of research. One of the most important effects on Nigella sativa is the hepatoprotective that has been shed in various studies. Thymoquinone which is the content of Nigella sativa has the ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation. Thymoquinone can reduce oxidative stress and increase antioxidants in the body. The objectives of this study were to overcome the effects hepatoprotector of black cumin extract (Nigella sativa) on the damage of hepatic of male white rat (Rattus norvegicus) sparague dawley strain induced by ethanol. Methodology: It is a kind of experimental laboratory research used that uses random controlled design method with the pattern of post test-only control group design. The subject of this research is 25 adult male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Sparague Dawley strain aged 3-4 months, weight 150-300 grams, that are divided in to five groups. Group one (normal control) is given aquades dose 0,01 ml/grBB/day, group two (pathologic control) is given ethanol with dose o,o1 ml/grBB/day, group three is given 25% concentration of black cumin extract and 50% ethanol, group four is given 37,5% concentration of black cumin extract and 50% ethanol, and group five is given 50% concentration of black cumin extract and 50% ethanol. After 14th days, the treatment was stopped and the rats got dislocation cervical, and then laparotomy for made histopathology preparation. After getting observed, the data that is gotten is analyzed with Kruskal-Wallis test and then Mann-Whitney test. Result: The result of Kruskal-Wallis test showed that there was an effect of black cumin extract (Nigella sativa) on the damage of hepatic of male white rat (Rattus norvegicus) sparague dawley strain induced by ethanol with p = 0,001 (p <0,05) . Mann Whitney test show there is a means difference between group I (normal control) with group II (pathologic control), group III (dose I), group IV (dose II) and group V (dose III). Conclusion: There is a hepatoprotector effect of black cumin (Nigella sativa) extract to liver’s damage of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) sparague dawley strain induced by ethanol. Key words: Black cumin extract, ethanol, fatty degeneration of liver rats.   ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Di antara berbagai tanaman obat, jintan hitam (Nigella sativa) muncul sebagai ramuan dengan latar belakang sejarah dan agama karena banyak penelitian mengungkapkan potensi farmakologis dari tanaman tesebut. Salah satu efek yang paling penting pada Nigella sativa adalah hepatoprotektif yang ditelah dijelaskan dalam berbagai penelitian. Thymoquinone yang merupakan kandungan jintan hitam memiliki kemampuan untuk menghambat peroksidasi lipid. Thymoquinone dapat mengurangi stress oksidatif dan meningkatkan pertahanan antioksidan dalam tubuh.  Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meneliti efek hepatoprotektor jintan hitam (Nigella sativa) terhadap kerusakan hepar tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan galur Sprague Dawley yang diinduksi etanol. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratorik menggunakan metode rancangan acak terkontrol dengan pola post test-only control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah 25 ekor tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan galur sparague dawley berumur 3-4 bulan, berat badan 150-300 gram, yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok. Kelompok I (kontrol normal) diberi aquades dosis 0,01 ml/grBB/hari, kelompok II (kontrol patologis) diberi etanol 50% dosis 0,01 ml/grBB/hari, kelompok III diberi ekstrak jintan hitam konsentrasi 25% dan etanol 50%, kelompok IV diberi ekstrak jintan hitam konsentrasi 37,5% dan etanol 50%, serta kelompok V diberi ekstrak jintan hitam konsentrasi 50% dan etanol 50%. Setelah hari ke-14, perlakuan dihentikan, dilakukan dislokasi pada leher tikus kemudian dilakukan laparotomi untuk pengambilan hepar tikus untuk dibuat preparat histopatologis. Setelah diamati, data dianalisis dengan uji Kruskal-Wallis dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil: Hasil uji Kruskal-Wallis menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh ekstrak jintan hitam (Nigella sativa) terhadap kerusakan hepar tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan galur sparague dawley yang diinduksi etanol, dengan nilai p = 0,001 (p<0,05). Uji Mann Whitney menunjukkan perbandingan yang bermakna didapatkan pada kelompok I (kontrol normal) dengan kelompok II (kontrol patologis), kelompok III (dosis I), kelompok IV (dosis II) dan kelompok V (dosis III). Kesimpulan: Terdapat efek hepatoprotektor ekstrak jintan hitam (Nigella sativa) terhadap kerusakan hepar tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan galur Sprague Dawley yang diinduksi etanol.   Kata kunci: ekstrak jintan hitam, etanol, degenerasi lemak hepar tikus.

Based on the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) data in 2013, there were 8,500,247 couples of childbearing age who were new KB (family planning) participants with the total number using injection was 4,128,115 (48.56%). Research Objectives to find out The Effect of The Administration OF Medroxy Progesterone Acetate Hormone to Endometrial Thickness of The Female Rattus Norvegicus Wistar Strain. The design of this research is the post test only control group design by having  white rats species Rattus Norvegicus Wistar Strain as the poplulation, the samples are taken randomly from all populations that met the following sample criteria: female rats, Aged 12-14 weeks, having body weight of 150 - 200 grams. Based on the calculation of the sample size, the sample size / number of animals r = 10 rats was obtained, with a total sample size for both groups of treatment and control were 20 female rats which included: group 1 amounted to 10 rats that were not given Medroxy Progesterone Acetat hormones as a control group where group 2 amounted to 10 rats which given Medroxy Progesterone Acetat as a treatment group. The results showed the average endometrial thickness in the (P1) Medroxy Progesterone Acetate Hormone group was 493.17 µm ± 114.96, this result was lower than the control group 1192.56 µm ± 428.94. From the ANOVA test table, the P value <0.05 means that there is a very significant difference in the average endometrial thickness between the control group and the treatment group. Based on the results of the Post Hoc Bonfferoni Test, it can be seen that the average endometrial thickness between Control and P1 showed a significant difference (P <0.05). The analysis of the result and discussion of the research can be concluded that: the Medroxy Progesterone Acetate hormone affects the endometrial thickness, and there is a difference in the histological picture of endometrial thickness due to the administration of the Medroxy Progesterone Acetate hormone and without the administration of to the administration of the Medroxy Progesterone Acetate hormone.

Hyperglycemia in people with diabetes mellitus causes oxidative stress which can interfere with the provision of nutrients through blood vessels to the tissues that form spermatozoa so that it interferes with the process of spermatogenesis in the testicular organs. Coffee contains caffeine and chlorogenic acid which functions as an antioxidant to improve spermatogenesis abnormalities which causes decreased number of normal spermatozoa. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of coffee in improving the number of spermatozoa of alloxan induced wistar white rats.. Methods this study uses Post-test only laboratory experimental research with control group design. Submitting 30 rats divided into 5 groups: normal control (given aquades), negative control (induced alloxan + aquades), setting 1 (induced alloxan + coffee 0.054 gram / 200 gramBB), aid 2 (alloxan induced + coffee 0.108 gram / 200 gramBB ) and treatment 3 (alloxan + coffee induced 0.162 gram / 200 gramBB). Provision of coffee carried out for 14 days, rats terminated on the 15th day. Testicles are taken then observed and counted spermatozoa. One-way ANOVA test results show the value of p = 0.000. In the LSD test between the normal control group (aquades) and negative control (diabetic rats without treatment) had a value of p = 0.042, whereas in the treatment group 1.2.3 with a negative control had a value of p = 0.000. Provision of coffee can increase the number of spermatozoa white wistar strain alloxan induced.

According to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA),the allowed level of Monosodium glutamate (MSG)consumption is 30 mg / kgbw per day. Several studies show that long-term MSG is toxic to the kidneys bycausingoxidative stress and decreasing thekidney function.This study was based on the potential for impaired kidneyfunction and structure caused by excessive consumption of MSG and basil leaves (Ocimum basilicum L.) asantioxidant plants with flavonoid content. To find out the effect of basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) leaves’ ethanolextract dose 175 mg / kgbw, 350 mg / kgbw and 700 mg / kgbw against kidney tubular injury on white rats WistarStrain induced by MSG.This study was a quasi-experimental study with a randomized post-test only controlledgroup design. The number of samples was 25 ABM, divided into five groups, the positive control group (K+), thenegative control group (K-) and the treatment group (K1,K2 and K3).In the group given basil leaves ethanol extractdoses of 175, 350 and 700 mg / kgbw, there was a decrease in tubular injury in the kidney of the white rat (Rattusnorvegicus) Wistar strain induced by MSG 1.6 g/day orally. The optimal dose in this study was 700 mg / kgbw. Teststatistics indicated significant differences in all five groups (p < 0.05).The administration of ethanol extract of basilleaves (Ocimum basilicumL.) was able to prevent tubular injury in the kidney of the white rat (Rattus norvegicus)Wistar strain induced by MSG. Kadar konsumsi MSG yang diperbolehkan menurut Europian Food Safety Authority (EFSA) yaitu 30 mg/kgBB per hari. Beberapa studi pada hewan coba menunjukkan bahwa pemberian MSG jangka panjang bersifat toksik padaginjal dengan menyebabkan stress oksidatif dan menurunkan fungsi ginjal. Penggunaan tanaman yang mengandungantioksidan dapat meningkatkan mekanisme dalam tubuh untuk mencegah stres oksidatif. Penelitian ini didasarkanoleh potensi terjadinya gangguan fungsi dan struktur ginjal akibat stres oksidatif yang disebabkan oleh konsumsiMSG berlebih serta daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum L.) sebagai tanaman antioksidan dengan kandunganflavonoid.Mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak etanol daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum L.) dosis 175,350 dan700 mg/kgBB terhadap cedera tubulus pada BBT ginjal tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur Wistar  yang diinduksiMSG.Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian quasi-experimental dengan rancangan randomized post test onlycontrolled group. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 25 BBT, terbagi menjadi lima kelompok, yaitu kontrol positif (K+),kontrol negatif (K-) dan kelompok perlakuan ekstrak daun kemangi (K1, K2 dan K3).Pada kelompok pemberianekstrak etanol daun kemangi terjadi penurunan cedera tubulus pada ginjal tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur Wistar  yang diinduksi MSG 1,6 g/hari secara oral.  Dosis optimal ekstrak etanol daun kemangi padapenelitian iniyaitu 700 mg/kgBB. Uji statistik menuunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan pada kelima kelompok (p<0,05). Pemberian ekstrak etanol daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum L.) dapat mencegah terjadinya cedera tubulus padaginjal tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur Wistar  yang diinduksi MSG.
