The growth of manufacturing industries has caused the competition among companies becomes tighter. Therefore, companies need to make an effort to survive. One of the things that must be considered is the quality of products produced by the company. This research is conducted to design a refinement or quality improvement for GRC roster products in UD. XYZ Malang. The quality improvement is done with Taguchi method experimental design in order to get optimal combination for the materials. As for the orthogonal array notation used is L9(34) with gypsum (A), sand (B), cement (C), and water (D) as the controlling factors. The data processing is carried out using ANOVA towards the average value and SNR with larger the better classification. The ANOVA calculation is done in order to find out the significantly influential factors in product durability. The test done to find out the product durability is a pressure test. According to the result of data processing, the ratio of optimal mixture composition gypsum:sand: cement: wateris 2:2:2:1 (A3, B2, C3, dan D2). A confirmation experiment is conducted to the optimal composition. The analysis of the material cost for each experiment is done to justify the effectiveness of the optimal designed product chosen. Based on the pressure durability and cost calculation, the mean of result is 13,256 kg/cm2 for the pressure durability which indicates the quality is better than the exsisting product and able to save costs of Rp 1.630,927 in order to produce one GRC Roster.

The manufacturing industries in Indonesia have been improving rapidly thus make the industries to be in ore competitive environment. This research is conducted to design a refinement or quality improvement for paving products in PT. Malang Indah. The quality improvement is done with Taguchi method experimental design in order to get optimal mixture combination. As for the orthogonal array notation used is L9 (34) with cement (A), fly ash (B), and sand (C) as the controlling factors. The data processing will be done with ANOVA calculation towards the average value and SNR with larger the better as classification. The ANOVA calculation is done in order to find out the significantly influential factors in product durability. The test done to find out the product durability is a pressure test which is done with compression machine. According to the result of data processing, the ratio of optimal mixture composition cement: fly ash: sand is 1:3:6 (A1, B2, and C3). A confirmation experiment will be done to the optimal composition during the control stage to find out the validity. According to the calculation in confirmation experiment, the result for pressure durability is 450,117 kg/cm2 which indicate the quality of paving category a based on SNI 03-0691-1996. The performance assessment of administration staff in the college did in order to improve the quality of the service process and internal continuous quality improvement. This study aims at the development of information systems web-based performance assessment. This system was built using the programming language PHP (Hypertext Processor) and MySql database, which is expected to provide a more efficient and effective in conducting this evaluation, all the colleges are trying to have an information system that not only presents a variety of important information, but also can perform the data processing. Assessmentof the performance is measurements made on various activities with the questioner. The results of the study give a rank of accumulation is obtained by calculating the second component of the assessment, the results of this can be seen anyone to find the highest rank to lowest. It is hoping that every values obtained can push Employees the administration in Lamongan Islamic university to improve its performance.

Traditional cast brass handicrafts Majapahit is one of the nation's cultural heritage which has a high historical value. The uniqueness and quality become the hallmark of this craft products. The results of handmade products such as sculptures, wall hangings, souvenirs, ornaments doors and so on. To increase the sales of traditional handicrafts of brass castings, required Majapahit applicative technical efforts in improving the quality of products which are ecofriendly. Quality improvement method such as Six sigma. Six sigma focuses on decreasing flawed rate, by reaching the standard 3, 4 flawed in a thousand possibility. Six sigma has 5 phases; define, measure, analyze, improvement, and control. In this research, six sigma is applied in producing cast brass handicraft starting from making the master mold, preparation of smelting raw materials, cooling process, releasing of the mold, and finishing. Purposefully to improve the quality by overcoming and decreasing the high of flawed possibility and also applying marketing mixture in improving the market segmentation of traditional cast brass of Majapahit market. The result is quality improvement is shown by decreasing happen in number of flawed product in total of mean for about 154, 8 decreased to 59,5. While the calculation of the six sigma, flawed product of cast brass handicraft is for about 1,7625 sigma value or being in level 2 and increased to 3,725 or being in level 4 with the flawed possibility in amount 235,000 for thousand times of production. The ability of production for the requirement which is wanted by the consumers and owning a good enough capability but still needed some correction to achieve world class home industry

We propose a novel deviation-based vertex reordering method for 2D mesh quality improvement. We reorder free vertices based on how likely this is to improve the quality of adjacent elements, based on the gradient of the element quality with respect to the vertex location. Specifically, we prioritize the free vertex with large differences between the best and the worst-quality element around the free vertex. Our method performs better than existing vertex reordering methods since it is based on the theory of non-smooth optimization. The downhill simplex method is employed to solve the mesh optimization problem for improving the worst element quality. Numerical results show that the proposed vertex reordering techniques improve both the worst and average element, compared to those with existing vertex reordering techniques.

Abstract The demand for alternative fuels having low greenhouse gases emission is continuously growing worldwide. Therefore it is preferred to produce new, waste originated components. One option is the recycling of plastic waste with cracking. The produced hydrocarbon fraction is not suitable for fuels thus it is important to improve its quality. The aim of our experimental work was to study the quality improvement of this cracked fraction (PPCGO) and crude oil based middle distillates (different composition) with co-processing. Our goal was to produce high quality diesel fuel blending components. We studied the effect of process parameters on the quality of products. Ni (2.3%) Mo (11.0%) P (2.3%)/Al2O3 catalyst was used. During the experiments we studied the hydrogenation of olefins, saturation of aromatics and desulphurization. The hydrogenation of olefins was practically complete at 300°C. It took place at significantly higher speed than the desulphurization reactions. In case of light gas oil feedstock the products had significantly lower sulphur contents; below 10 mg/kg already at 340°C. We determined that the cracked fraction had beneficial effect on the performance properties of the products. In case of all feedstock combinations, we found process parameters which can be used to produce high-quality diesel fuel blending components on the tested catalyst.

The article considers the problem of assessing the quality of food products and the process of their production using the example of determining the mass fraction of sodium chloride in baked pork. Salt is an important component, the content of which is regulated by standards and technical regulations and affects all types of indicators: organoleptic, quality and safety. Standard methods of sampling and determining the mass fraction of sodium chloride - the methods of Mora and Folgrade, which establish the average value of the measured index are analyzed. As a result of the conducted studies, a method for estimating the distribution of components in a food product based on the second Fick law, which takes into account the nonstationary nature of the flow and provides for the possibility of changing the flow of atoms in the diffusion process, is proposed. The article provides a mathematical justification for the proposed methodology. Based on the methods, regulated by standards, the method allows to demonstrate clearly the values of the component content in the product mass.The developed method gives a more complete picture of the quality of products, allows us to draw conclusions about the quality of the process and the causes that affect it.This information will allow to develop a set of measures to ensure a high level of competitiveness of the food product.

Business Process Re-engineering / Re-design (BPR) was introduced as the radical redesign of core business processes of organizations to enable them achieve dramatic improvement in service, performance, productivity and quality of products / services. It was touted in the 1990s as the newest business strategy to make management of businesses effective, after less was derived from TQM. Unfortunately, the application of the BPR strategy on businesses, example in the automobile industry, was only marginal but better than TQM. BPR was designed to re-organize organizational processes, and then make extensive use of Information Technology (IT) for running organizations. However, most of the localized organizations that adopted the BPR strategy for use, complained bitterly about the application. This was due to the fact that the managerial and human-centred strategies of team-working was not effectively achieved. However, for organizations that go global, it is a different ball game all together, as there are string of successes associated with them. Localized organizations should therefore, create the right enablement for the strategy to work, as some MNCs have been able to use BPR to achieve competitive advantage.

ABSTRAKHasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa produk LKS IPA materi penggolongan hewan berdasarkan jenis makanannya menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dengan lima tahapan yaitu, mengamati, menanya, mengumpulkan informasi/mencoba, menalar, dan mengkomunikasikan. Dari hasil Analisis validasi LKS oleh ahli materi dan media menunjukan bahwa kualitas LKS sangat baik dengan rata-rata 3,29. Sedangkan analisis validasi kepraktisan LKS oleh ahli pendidikan dan siswa menunjukan bahwa kualitas LKS baik dengan rata-rata 3,79. Terdapat perbedaan signifikan peningkatan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas IV sebelum menggunakan LKS dan sesudah menggunakan LKS. Dapat dilihat peningkatan hasil Pretest dan Postest. hasil Pretest menunjukan bahwa nilai ratarata pelajaran IPA 9, sedangkan hasil Postest menunjukan bahwa nilai rata-rata pelajaran IPA 9,3. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa nilai Postest lebih bagus dari pada nilai Pretest maka LKS yang dikembangkan pada penelitian ini dapat dikatakan efektif. Kata Kunci : LKS Kontekstual, IPA, ADDIE.ABSTRACTThe results of the study showed that the product of the Natural Sciences LKS classifying animals based on the type of food using a contextual approach with five stages, namely, observing, asking, gathering information, reasoning, and communicating. From the results of the validation analysis of the worksheets by material and media, experts showed that the quality of worksheets was very good with an average of 3.29. While the validation analysis of the practicality of student worksheets by educational experts and students shows that the quality of worksheets is good with an average of 3.79. There is a significant difference in the increase in science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students before using LKS and after using LKS. Can be seen an increase in Pretest and Posttest results. Pretest results show that the average value of science lessons 9, while the posttest results show that the average value of science lessons 9,3. This shows that the posttest score is better than the pretest value so the worksheet developed in this study can be said to be effective. Keywords: Contextual LKS, Natural Sciences, ADDIE.

<p>Light brick compressive strength produced by UD. XY has a very high variation because there is no standard composition of raw materials. This research is carried out to design an improvement or quality improvement for light brick products at UD. XY. Quality improvement is on increasing the compressive strength of light brick with optimal composition. Quality improvement is conducted using the experimental design of the Taguchi method to obtain an optimal composition combination. The orthogonal array notation used is L9(34) with material control factors in the form of water (A), cement (B), and sand (C). Data processing is done by calculating ANOVA on average values and SNR with larger better classification. The classification is chosen because of the greater the compressive strength of the light brick the higher the quality of the light brick. This ANOVA calculation is carried out to find out which factors significantly influence the light brick compressive strength. The test conducted to determine the quality of light brick is a concrete compressive strength test carried out using the Compression Machine. Based on the results of data processing, a comparison of the optimal composition of water: cement: sand is 1: 2.5: 4. The confirmation experiment proves that the compressive strength of the composition is robust.</p>

Over the past few decades, Total Quality Management (TQM) gurus have been developed certain theories in the area of business quality improvement, which caused a huge paradigm shift in improving the quality of products and services. The main aim of this paper was to discuss regarding the key roles of TQM gurus such as Deming, Crosby, Juran, Feigenbaum, Ishikawa, and others in improving business quality within different organizations in 20th Century. Thus, a systematic literature review was performed to specify the concept of TQM principles and philosophies from the aforementioned TQM gurus. However, the literature review was provided invaluable insight on the understanding of the main ideas and philosophies proposed by these TQM gurus.
