At the moment, there is a large number of dissertations and scientific works covering the issues of traction-speed and fuel-economic characteristics of vehicles, the results of which are presented in the form of: regression models, approximating dependencies, mathematical models based on multivariate analysis, including a number of additional coefficients. In this connection, the use of the results of these works in practice is limited, since it requires high qualifications of the МTЕ personnel and the use of special software and hardware. At the same time, at the department “Automobile transport” NSTU named after R. E. Alekseev developed a probabilistic-analytical method for predicting fuel consumption by road trains, considering the high-speed mode of movement, which shows a high convergence of results with actual average speeds only for uniform movement of buses with a constant average speed, which is not applicable to the assessment of fuel consumption of city buses. Based on the hypothesis put forward on the applicability of the Weibull-Gnedenko distribution for calculating the average speeds of city buses and the normal distribution for calculating accelerations during movement, the tasks of this study are formulated, expressed in the development of mathematical models reflecting the dependences of speeds and accelerations during bus movement in urban operating conditions, for planning their fuel consumption. To solve the set tasks, the following experimental studies were carried out: determination of the average coefficient of total road resistance; the actual distribution of speeds and accelerations when driving city buses; determination of the average actual value of fuel consumption when the bus is moving and when idle at stopping points. Based on the results of processing experimental studies, the possibility of using the Weibull-Gnedenko law to describe the actual speeds in urban conditions and the normal law to describe accelerations when driving city buses was confirmed, which allows planning fuel consumption using the analytical apparatus of the theory of probability and mathematical statistics and using the developed methodology in practice of motor transport enterprises. Based on experimental studies and theoretical studies in this area, an analytical method for planning fuel consumption for city buses, considering the speed of their movement, has been developed, which allows planning fuel consumption without additional experiments. Carrying out such studies for other types of motor vehicles and assessing unaccounted for indicators of road, transport and natural-climatic operating conditions will create a generalized analytical method for planning fuel consumption by vehicles in various operating conditions.

The theoretical analysis of dynamic phenomena in transmission tracked forest machine is much more difficult in the absence of experimental data on the effects of the input characteristic of the machine. The most characteristic species in the transmission effects that arise under real operating conditions allow to evaluate the results of experimental studies, they also provide an opportunity to assess the quality of theoretical studies. To determine the loading of the transmission in the experiment involves the measurement of a number of kinematic and power parameters characterizing the speed and stress state of the transmission. In the course of the research used a special measuring equipment made in Germany includes the high-speed digital telemetry system for strain "TEL1-PCM-HS" company KMT. This article describes how to determine the dynamic load transmission elements tracked forest machine LZ-5 in overcoming individual barriers in experimental studies (tests). The paper presents a program of pilot studies tracked forest machine. Presented curves change the time settings on the final drives and cardan shaft, depending on the speed of the engine and drive sprockets in overcoming obstacles GLZM with different gears. histograms were constructed on the distribution of the torque transmission shafts for various modes of overcoming obstacles in order to analyze the influence of operational factors on the magnitude of dynamic loads. The article presents the distribution curve of the moments on the driven shaft final drive to overcome obstacles tracked forest machine with a pack assortments in the volume of 12m3. It was noted that there are no less than 20 times the dynamic point values, which exceed the estimated time for the overcoming of obstacles. From the studies that the transmission level of at least dynamic forces having height obstacles.

The author maintains that, with the quick development of domestic auto industry, the auto maintenance industry is progressing with high speed accordingly. The auto maintenance enterprise are inclined to focus on sales and forward supply chain operation, however, lacking of efficient resource and systematic management into reverse logistics operation, as lead to a few potential risks. In order to avoid and control the risks, the auto maintenance companies need to closely cooperate with channel supply chain partners, meanwhile build up the mode of reverse logistics operation with timing efficiency orientation. This mode consists of eight sub-system modules: organization structure, network planning and layout, reverse logistics operation procedure, time window evaluation mechanism, automatic replenishment system, reverse forecasting system, Kan-ban message system as well as disposal & reuse system. Furthermore, the article makes analysis of the internal operations and external relevance of these eight sub-systems. In recent years, with the overall opening up of road transport market and the rapid growth in domestic economy, the total number of China’s motor vehicles is entering a high-speed growth channel, and “the car goes to the country” policy further promotes the auto industry. Under the situation of quick development, the auto maintenance industry is developing by 10% to 15% each year as a young profession. According to the statistics, there are over 380,000 auto maintenance enterprises in our country at the moment, and various types of auto safety testing stations are built around one after another. The intense competition among auto maintenance manufacturing enterprises does not only focus on product quality, but also on the after-market reverse logistics. According to the statics of Gartner, 70 percent of resale is related with sales service, and 60 percent of resale is related with after market. However, except for few leading business enterprises which have realized the direct influence and value contribution of after-service reverse logistics to profit increase and customer loyalty and take action to pioneer the profit territory in the after-sale reverse logistics, the ‘price war’ is still the main competition method which the majority of enterprises adopt in the market.

Road transport holds for the largest share in the freight transport sector in Europe. This work is carried out by heavy vehicles of various types. It is assumed that, in principle, transport should take place on the main road connections, such as motorways or national roads. Their share in the polish road infrastructure is not dominant. Rural and communal roads roads are the most prevalent. This fact formed the basis of the exhaust emissions and fuel consumption tests of heavy vehicles in real operating conditions. A set of vehicles (truck tractor with a semi-trailer) meeting the Euro V emission norm, transporting a load of 24,800 kg, was selected for the tests. The research was carried out on an non-urban route, the test route length was 22 km. A mobile Semtech DS instrument was used, which was used to measure the exhaust emissions. Based on the obtained results, the emission characteristics were determined in relation to the operating parameters of the vehicles drive system. Road emission, specific emission and fuel consumption values were also calculated.

In this study, the on-going research into the improvement of micro-gas turbine propulsion system performance and the suitability for its application as propulsion systems for small tactical UAVs (<600 kg) is investigated. The study is focused around the concept of converting existing micro turbojet engines into turbofans with the use of a continuously variable gearbox, thus maintaining a single spool configuration and relative design simplicity. This is an effort to reduce the initial engine development cost, whilst improving the propulsive performance. The BMT 120 KS micro turbojet engine is selected for the performance evaluation of the conversion process using the gas turbine performance software GasTurb13. The preliminary design of a matched low-pressure compressor (LPC) for the proposed engine is then performed using meanline calculation methods. According to the analysis that is carried out, an improvement in the converted micro gas turbine engine performance, in terms of thrust and specific fuel consumption is achieved. Furthermore, with the introduction of a CVT gearbox, the fan speed operation may be adjusted independently of the core, allowing an increased thrust generation or better fuel consumption. This therefore enables a wider gamut of operating conditions and enhances the performance and scope of the tactical UAV.

Using the exact analytical solution of the stationary thermal conductivity problem for a two layer flat wall under inhomogeneous boundary conditions of the first and third kind, an analytical method for thickness determination of the sediment layer on the inner surface of the pipeline wall by the temperature known from the experiment on its outer surface is developed. The thickness of the deposits is found from the solution of the inverse problem by substituting the experimental value of the temperature of the outer surface of the wall into the formula of an accurate analytical solution. According to the results of theoretical studies, the thickness of the deposits was equal to 1.3 cm. Due to the large diameter of the pipeline (0.6 m) and the insignificant thickness of the two layer wall (0.016 m), it was assumed to be flat. The thickness of the deposits according to experimental studies was equal to 1.1 cm. Therefore, the discrepancy between the results of theoretical and experimental studies is 15.3%. The sequence of obtaining a solution to a similar problem for a cylindrical wall is also presented.

Theoretical investigation with reasoning of petrol fuel combustion in the ambient and ozone medium was made. Methods of carrying out the experiment using the engine loading method due to application of power of mechanical losses of deactivated cylinders were worked out. Experimental studies envisage determination of influence of ozone additive into fuel air mix on the basic effective ICE performance, for this purpose cyclic fuel consumption parameter was used. After the analysis of ICE performance methods and control techniques, its condition was evaluated, for this purpose a compressor meter was used with preliminary pressurization of cylinders. During the experiment in order to load the engine its third and fourth cylinders were switched off. The results showed that the utmost fuel efficiency is found at crankshaft rotation values of 1450 and 3350 min-1, when cyclic fuel consumption rate has values of 1,35 and 1,27 mg/cycle respectively, which makes 7,4 and 7,0 % from identical indicators without ozonation of air mass at the same rotations. In general, the effect of fuel air mix ozonation makes it possible to develop target petrol-operated engine rotations at smaller fuel consumption rate, this way increasing its energy efficiency.

In order to determine the fuel consumption during operation of locomotive it is necessary to work out the characteristics of fuel consumption vs. power produced by propulsion system. These characteristics can be obtained during tests in a diagnostic stand equipped with water rheostat, which allows to simulate any load on the main generator. Another method depends on utilization data from monitoring system of the propulsion system, obtained during regular operation of the locomotive. The main disadvantage of this method is lack of long-term constant loads, which is caused by frequently changing operating conditions. This has a major impact on the measuring error, which can be minimized by suitable utilization of a large number of measurements. Practical remarks of those methods usage have been presented in this paper.

The paper presents an analytical method of identifying the curvature of the turnout diverging track consisting of sections of varying curvature. Such turnout is mainly applied on High Speed Railway. Both linear and nonlinear (polynomial) curvatures of the turnout diverging track are considered in the paper. Obtained solutions enable to assume curvature values at the beginning and end point of the geometrical layout of the turnout. The paper focus on a fundamental and unexplained so far issue connected with selection of the most favourable curvature section from the operational requirements point of view. In order to determine the optimal curvature a dynamic analysis has been carried out on the several representative cases. It has been indicated that, used in railway practice, clothoid sections with nonzero curvatures at the beginning and end points of the turnout should be verified. It has been proved that the turnout with nonlinear curvature reaching zero values at the extreme points of the geometrical layout is the most favourable.

At this stage of the development of vehicles with a combined power plant, one of the areas of development is the study of the introduction of a low-power gas turbine engine, the so-called microturbine, as a converter of thermal energy into mechanical. This solution has numerous positive aspects related to its fuel consumption, small dimensions, high efficiency, as well as a number of performance indicators. In this case, the vehicle is also equipped with a high-speed generator with the goal of converting the mechanical energy of the microturbine into electrical energy. This ensures the microturbine operation in a given range on the characteristic of optimal fuel consumption. The article contains an analysis of the use of microturbine generators in vehicles; some constructive solutions are considered as well. An overview of vehicles with microturbine generators and their comparison with traditional internal combustion engines is given. The movement of the vehicle is carried out by one or several traction motors. More than ten developments of motor vehicles using the microturbine as an additional source of energy for vehicles with traction electric drive are already known in the world, including MiTRE (Microturbine Range Extender). Among such vehicles, one can name the Trolza "Ecobus" buses, Delta Hypercar supercar, Isuzu NPR trucks, Mack Truck, Kenworth.
