Nowadays when looking at the behavior of students in the learning process at school, it is known that a student learns because it is an obligation not a necessity. As a result, students do not understand the learning material delivered by the teacher. For this reason, a teacher is required to find the main problem of these problems so that the right solution can be found. This research is a research development (Research and Development). This development research was carried out to produce learning tools which would then be tested in class. Learning tools developed are learning tools with local-based teaching materials in Inquiry Learning. The results of observations through observation and interviews with teachers and students of Class IVSD Negeri 105346 Araskabu in the field showed that teaching and learning activities were almost completely dominated by teachers using conventional methods, namely lectures, notes and assignments. Activities carried out by students during the learning process include sitting neatly, listening to the teacher teach, taking notes, and doing questions. There are also many students who chat and enjoy their respective activities during the learning process. Most elementary school teachers consider themselves to be the introduction of knowledge. When teachers carry out the teaching and learning process in the classroom, learning activity is rarely found that involves students being actively involved, such as discussing, making discoveries, or testing a concept or theory using one of the learning approaches. Such learning will cause negative reactions for students, such as: (1) Students look lethargic, not enthusiastic and even sleepy; (2) Students find learning boring; (3) The results of learning are not in accordance with what is stated in the learning objectives. The negative reactions above lead to low student understanding because the methods used by the teacher are not in accordance with the characteristics of the students being faced.

The period of the Covid-19 pandemic is a period of transition for the world, including in the field of education, which is the right of everyone. During the transition period, the government has decided to carry out the online teaching and learning process by using conference calls or social media. This model is now used by almost all educational institutions in Indonesia. In this case, of course, there are striking differences in the teaching and learning process, including with Christian Education. Therefore, the distance learning process of Christian Education can emulate the pedagogical competence of Jesus in Matthew's Gospel to be applied during this pandemic, so that the three educational domains (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) can be achieved properly. The method in writing this paper is descriptive qualitative, observing the book of Matthew and observing the dynamics of education during the pandemic via the internet and direct actions experienced by schools in Indonesia. The conclusion of this paper is that the teacher must imitate Jesus' pedagogy, such as: the teacher must know the character of the student, the teacher must be communicative with structured and creative material, the teacher can use the discovery learning method, the teacher must provide teaching based on the child's needs, and the teacher must continue to teach basic things in a child's life.

Specifically, it is directed to investigate whether peer feedback works and can improve students’ writing ability in writing sentences and narrative paragraphs, at the first year students of SMA Negeri 1 Balikpapan. The study was conducted based on the result of preliminary study at the school. It is found that the students’ ability in the language skills especially in writing is still insufficient. In the teaching and learning process the teacher provides fewer portions in writing activities for the students in class. In addition, the strategies used in the teaching and learning process are uninteresting because the students have to do the writing activities in under pressure. To answer the problems, a classroom action research is conducted. The teacher as a researcher works in planning the action, implementing the action, observing, and analyzing and reflecting the action. The subjects of the study are the second year students (X-IPA-1) of 2019/2020 academic year consisting of 40 students. The results shows that peer feedback obviously can improve the students’ ability in writing sentences and narrative paragraphs at the first year students of SMA Negeri 1 Balikpapan. It has been observed that the improvements are caused by the regular writing practice done by the students and the teacher’s response given to their writing. It becomes a sort of on going dialogue.
