Описано исследование эффективности использования городских насаждений для снижения уровня шума. В результате их применения эффективность снижения уровня шума изменялось от 1,1 дБА до 14,0 дБА. Наиболее эффективны для использования в шумозащитных целях многовидовые рядовые посадки деревьев с применением живых изгородей. Одновидовые живые изгороди, одновидовые и многовидовые рядовые посадки деревьев снижали уровень шума незначительно. Большую роль в снижении шума играла ширина полос зеленых насаждений. Зеленые полосы шириной 12,0-13,5 м снижали уровень шума на 9,3 дБА. The article describes the study of the efficiency of using urban plantations to reduce noise. As a result of their application, the noise reduction efficiency varies from 1,1 dBA to 14,0 dBA. Multi-view row tree planting using living fences is most effective for noise protection purposes. Single-species living fences, single-species and multi-species row tree planting reduced noise levels slightly. The width of green plantation lanes plays a major role in reducing noise. Green bands 12,0-13,5 m wide reduced noise level by 9.3 dBA.

A high incidence of hearing loss has been encountered among tractor drivers, and noise levels are shown to be further increased by the addition of cabs, particularly those which are structurally strong to resist crushing if the vehicle overturns. Some reductions in the noise level of the operator's environment can be obtained by covering the engine or by exhaust system modifications, while possible future improvements to diesel engine design may effect a significant improvement. However, it is proposed that noise reduction is likely to be achieved by attention to acoustic features of the operator's cab. The inclusion of resilient mounts, substantial floors and bulkheads, and acoustically absorbent linings are all shown to provide worthwhile improvements and, in combination, these measures can reduce noise levels from more than 100 dBA to 90 dBA or less. Where the tractor is fitted with a safety frame only, a low noise fabric cladding is shown to be feasible.

Asphalt Rubber Concrete (ARC) pavement has shown an excellent performance of noise reduction in terns of reducing the power of air pumping, absorbing sound power, depressing carcass vibration and changing sound reflection geometry. This research is to investigate the traffic noise reduction performance of a segment of test highway with ARC pavement in Saskatchewan, Canada. Before and after the highway section was repaved, a series of traffic noise level measurements combining with traffic flow monitoring are conducted in order to compare the sound performance of ARC and conventional pavements. A relationship between the noise level and corresponding traffic flow conditions of ARC pavement is established. The energetic averaging method is employed to study the relationship between traffic noise level and traffic flow condition. The two noise levels of 24-hour's time averaged and Statistical Pass-By noise levels indicated that the ARC pavement has a better sound performance over that of conventional pavement in terms of traffic noise reduction. The traffic noise reduction applicability of ARC pavement under various traffic flow conditions is also performed in this research.

High noise levels in hospitals can contribute to stress and fatigue in hospital staff, reducing the speed of healing of patients. Noise level measurement is in accordance with the existing quality standard in Permenkes No. 7 of 2019 in Mesra Hospital, Kampar Regency, there are several rooms that exceed the predetermined standard values. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of noise against quality standards at Mesra Hospital in Kampar Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Interviews and observations were conducted to 5 informants through in-depth interviews. The location of the study was conducted at the Mesra Hospital of Kampar Regency in May-July 2020. The results of the study and the measurements made showed that in front of the intimate hospital had a high noise level such as the lobby during the day the measurements were made with 69 dBA results, for the results of corridor measurements / which hall from the measurement results during the day produces a value of 67 dBA, and the results of measurements during the day in the medical record room produces a value of 67 dBA. From observations and interviews with informants it was found that in handling noise levels were inadequate such as the absence of standard operating procedures regarding noise handling, as well as the absence of printouts of noise measurements that had been carried out and also the lack of noise control at the front of the mesra hospital. Still the loud voice of a traffic vehicle inside the lobby was caused by the lack of tree planting in the front of the mesra hospital.

Aircraft noise is one of the serious environmental noises with the increased use of flight traffic. The purpose of this study is to understand aircraft noise levels of airport communities in Korea using baseline data for audiologic management. Aircraft noise levels were retrieved from the National Noise Information System every month between 2004 and 2018. We reviewed aircraft noise levels obtained from total of 111 airport communities across 14 airports. In order to understand aircraft noise levels of civil and military airports, the aircraft noise levels measured in civil and military airport communities compared with the noise levels from civil airport communities. The data showed average 71-73 weight equivalent continuous perceived noise level (WECPNL) for fifteen years across airport cities and the average noise levels did not increase over time between 2004 and 2018 years. The civil and military airports showed about 12 WECPNLs of increased noise levels compared to the civil airports. The most civil and military airport communities, including Gwangju, Gunsan, Daegu, Wonju, and Cheongju generated the maximum noise levels and ranked as the highest airport for aircraft noise levels. Although aircraft noise levels in airport communities were similar over the past decade, civil and military airports generated increased noised levels compared to civil airports due to jet plane noises and other military-related noises. Careful consideration is necessary to implement noise reduction policy for civil and military airport communities. Ongoing noise control, hearing monitoring, education, and relevant policies are required to improve the quality of life in the airport community residences.

Ecological requirements for cars grow from year to year, both in the world as a whole, and in Ukraine in particular. This is especially true of noise pollution. Additionally, noise reduction becomes relevant, taking into account the conduct of military operations during the last 5 years on the territory of Ukraine. The war has caused a special need for military vehicles for which masking properties are vital. Noise is a serious disincentive factor. Therefore, its reduction for a military vehicle, apart from the environmental aspect, is of a purely military nature, that is, it is extremely important. The car has many sources of noise there are many ways to deal with them. One of the most powerful source of noise is the sleeping bag. This kind of noise is reduced by means of silencers of noise. The vast majority of silencer data in the basis of its design has a reactive (or resonant) muffler. To calculate the jet silencer you must know the speed of sound in the sleeping bags. In order to increase the acoustic efficiency of reactive and resonant mufflers of exhaust gases noise of the ICE of cars, an experimental method was proposed for determining the speed of sound in the sleighs. Implementation of the method is carried out by measuring the attenuation of acoustic waves. The noise level of the bedrooms is measured without silencer and silencer. Based on the data obtained, the noise reduction performance of the residual is established. From the well-known formula, based on the calculation of the efficiency of the silencing of a jet muffler, a formula is obtained for calculating the speed of sound in the sleeping quays. In this formula, all parameters are known: the level of silencer efficiency, the noise level of the sleeping, the ratio of areas of cross sections of the muffler and the inlet pipe and the length of the muffler. The sound speed thus established can continue to be used not only for engines of the type for which measurements and calculations were made, but also with a certain approximation for some other types of engines. This method provides high accuracy for determining the required parameter. In the given work on the example of the armored car KrAZ “Fiona” the calculation of efficiency increase of the reactive silencer is made due to the above-mentioned method. Also, the projected decrease in the external noise level of the KrAZ Armored Vehicle “Fiona” is considered by determining the speed of sound in the recesses on the trunk cycle on the road with acceleration up to speed of 50 km/h (75 km/h) and the movement with this speed, as well as when driving at a speed of 45 km/h. Abstract Objective Noise in operating rooms (OR) can have negative effects on both patients and surgical care workers. Noise can also impact surgical performance, team communication, and patient outcomes. Such implications of noise have been studied in orthopedics, neurosurgery, and urology. High noise levels have also been demonstrated in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) procedures. Despite this, no previous study has amalgamated the data on noise across all OHNS ORs to determine how much noise is present during OHNS surgeries. This study aims to review all the literature on noise associated with OHNS ORs and procedures. Methods Ovid Medline, EMBASE Classic, Pubmed, SCOPUS and Cochrane databases were searched following PRISMA guidelines. Data was collected on noise measurement location and surgery type. Descriptive results and statistical analysis were completed using Stata. Results This search identified 2914 articles. Final inclusion consisted of 22 studies. The majority of articles analyzed noise level exposures during mastoid surgery (18/22, 82%). The maximum noise level across all OHNS ORs and OHNS cadaver studies were 95.5 a-weighted decibels (dBA) and 106.6 c-weighted decibels (dBC), respectively (P = 0.2068). The mean noise level across all studies was significantly higher in OHNS cadaver labs (96.9 dBA) compared to OHNS ORs (70.1 dBA) (P = 0.0038). When analyzed together, the mean noise levels were 84.9 dBA. Conclusions This systematic review demonstrates that noise exposure in OHNS surgery exceeds safety thresholds. Further research is needed to understand how noise may affect team communication, surgical performance and patient outcomes in OHNS ORs. Graphical abstract

In the era of digital technology, it becomes easy to share photographs and videos using smartphones and social networking sites to their loved ones. On the other hand, many photo editing tools evolved to make it effortless to alter multimedia content. It makes people accustomed to modifying their photographs or videos either for fun or extracting attention from others. This altering brings a questionable validity and integrity to the kind of multimedia content shared over the internet when used as evidence in Journalism and Court of Law. In multimedia forensics, intense research work is underway over the past two decades to bring trustworthiness to the multimedia content. This paper proposes an efficient way of identifying the manipulated region based on Noise Level inconsistencies of spliced mage. The spliced image segmented into irregular objects and extracts the noise features in both pixel and residual domains. The manipulated region is then exposed based on the cosine similarity of noise levels among pairs of individual objects. The experimental results reveal the effectiveness of the proposed method over other state-of-art methods.

Vehicular acoustic noise evaluations are a concern of researchers due to health and comfort effects on humans and are fundamental for anyone interested in mitigating audio noise. This paper focuses on the evaluation of the noise level inside a vehicle by using statistical tools. First, an experimental setup was developed with microphones and a microcomputer located strategically on the car’s panel, and measurements were carried out with different conditions such as car window position, rain, traffic, and car speed. Regression analysis was performed to evaluate the similarity of the noise level from those conditions. Thus, we were able to discuss the relevance of the variables that contribute to the noise level inside a car. Finally, our results revealed that the car speed is strongly correlated to interior noise levels, suggesting the most relevant noise sources are in the vehicle itself.

In Korea, road noise is assessed as a measurement method of exterior noise emitted by road vehicle for management standards by the National Institute of Environmental Sciences. In this method, the noise felt at the actual pickup point is measured as LAeq (the roadside equivalent noise level). Recently, to clarify the standard for measuring noise on low-noise pavements, the CPX (ISO11819-2; Close-proximity method) was first introduced in the Porous Pavement Guidelines of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. According to ISO, the CPX adopts the side microphone as a mandatory measurement location, and the rear optional. The side location has been a mandatory due to its high correlation with SPB (ISO 11819-1, Statistical Pass-by method). However, according to our previous study on the correlation evaluation between L and CPX rear microphone noise level, both noise reduction effect was about 9-12 dB(A) showed a high correlation in Korea where heavy road traffic is common. The following study aims to show the consistent correlation between the L and CPX rear noise level. Furthermore, it is intended to be helpful in selecting the location of the CPX microphone that can most effectively represent the actual noise on the low-noise pavement in Korea.

This study evaluated noise pollution in Onitsha metropolis, Anambra State, Nigeria in 2019. Noise levels were measured at forty sampling stations in the morning, afternoon and night within the study area for dry and wet seasons using modern noise level instruments. A control point was established at ldeani/Nnobi Junction with coordinates N 06o 05’.282’’ E 006o 55’.891’’ which was used as a reference point and for comparison with the sound levels recorded in designated locations. The results showed that the maximum noise level in the study area exceeded the Federal Ministry of Environment (FMEnv) limit by 7.8% in the dry season and by 13.11% in the wet season. Noise LAeq exceeded the NESREA LAeq limit by 29.89% in the dry season and by 33.44% in the wet season. The study indicated that the mean noise levels in the dry and wet seasons were within FMEnv limit of 90dB .It also showed that high noise levels were recorded around major junctions and market places within Onitsha, which are harmful to public health. The study further showed that transportation activities and trading activities at the market places are the main sources of high noise levels in the study area. Health impact assessment should be conducted in Onitsha metropolis for residents. State government should enforce compliance laws and regulate the activities of industries in the areas.
