Inaccessibility of electronic dictionaries for learning pronunciation of elementsand compounds in Chemistry was found at Semarang State Senior High School 2. Theobserved inaccessibility came from the Chemistry teacher who shared her problemsthat her students got difficulties in pronouncing elements and compounds. Then, theexisting electronic dictionaries were lack of the words they needed. Hence, this studywould like to develop an Electronic Dictionary of Elements and Compounds inChemistry (EDECC) for assisting students, notably the tenth graders of SemarangState Senior High School 2, to improve their pronunciation in learning elements andcompounds. This study employed Research and Development design to develop theEDECC. This design was adopted and modified fromBorg and Gall (2003:772). Sevenstages were employed for developing EDECC were information and research collecting,planning, developing, validating, revising, try out, and producing final EDECC.Observation, interview, validation, and pre-test also post-test were administered tocollect the data while both quantitative and qualitative approaches were used toanalyze the collected data. From the result of observations, questionnaires, validation,interviews, and pre-test and post-testwere found that applying the EDECC gainedpositive perspectives toward teaching and learning process.Moreover, the test ofeffectiveness consisting validity and reliability tests on pretest and posttest employingquasi experimental design reported that there was significant difference between theresult of pretest and posttest. It means that all the result of collected data agreed thatthe EDECC could be implemented in improving the students‟ pronunciation.Keywords : Electronic Dictionary, Teaching Pronunciation, Chemical Elements andCompounds

This research was design to know the effect of learning model multimedia-based toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency. The question of the research was “Is there an effect of learning model multimedia-based toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency? The objective of the research was to find out the data whether the learning model multimedia-based has an effect toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency. The significant of the research was expected the model can be used as reference learning model to improve the students’ English ablility.<strong> </strong>The design of the research was pre-experimental design. The research was conducted at the first-class students of Senior High School 1 Wundulako in Kolaka District. The data were collected by using English test which given at the pre-test and the post-test.<strong> </strong>In analysed the students’ test result, which the mean score of pre-test was 33,8806 and the mean score of post-test was 69,4058, while the t-table 18,55&gt;2,042 t-test. Its mean that the learning model multimedia-based has an effect toward the students’ English ablility. Refering to the findings and discussions of the research, it can be concluded that the learning model multimedia-based has an effect toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency. It was based on the mean score in pre-test and post-test.Based on the conclusion of the research, the researcher suggests to the teacher, especially English teacher in Kolaka Regency to use learning model multimedia-based in teaching and learning process to improve the students’ English ability.

The main objectives of the research are: (1) to identify whether pictures can improve students’ paragraph writing skill for the tenth graders of Senior High School in SMAN 1 Magetan; (2) to identify the students’s motivation when the pictures are used to teach paragraph writing skill for the tenth graders of Senior High School in SMAN 1 Magetan in academic year 2018/2019. The Research was carried out at SMAN 1 Magetan, East Java, in second semester from January 2019 to May 2019. The subjects of the research are 34 students of grade X. MIPA -1 consisting of 14 boys and 20 girls. The data were obtained from several techniques: test, observation, interview, questioners, and document analysis. To analyze the qualitative data, I used interactive model; while to analyze quantitative data, I applied a descriptive statistics. It is done by comparing the mean of pre-test and post-test. There are some findings of the research which include: pictures can improve students’ paragraph writing skill for the tenth graders of Senior High School in SMAN 1 Magetan. The improvements of paragraph writing skill comprise: (1) writing topic sentence; (2) writing supporting sentences; and (3) using correct grammar and cohesive devices (conjunctions). In addition, the students’ motivation is better when the pictures are used to teach paragraph writing skill for the tenth graders of Senior High School in SMAN 1 Magetan. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that applying pictures as media can improve students’ paragraph writing. Therefore, it is recommended that the teachers can use pictures as an effective media to improve the students’ paragraph writing skill.

The research aims at improving students’ writing skills using collaborative learning at 10th-grade students of the Senior High School 1 of Veteran Sukoharjo. This research was a classroom action research. The technique used in this research consisted of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The research was applied in two cycles. Every cycle consisted of three meetings. In the technique of collecting data, the researcher used qualitative and quantitative techniques. The qualitative data were collected from documentation, observation and interview with teachers and some students. The quantitative data were collected from the score of the students’ pre-test ad post-test, validity and reliability. The result of the research showed that collaborative learning could improve students’ writing skills. By using collaborative learning, the students showed active and have self-confidence in the teaching-learning process. This method brought positive result. The progress of the students’ writing skills also can be seen from the result of the tests score. In the multiple-choice pre-test, the mean score of the pre-test was 59,7and improved to be 68,1in post-test 1 of cycle 1. In cycle 2, the mean score of post-tests 2 was 79,7. In the essay pre-test, the mean score of the pre-test was 61,3and improved to be 69,1in post-test 1 of cycle 1. In cycle 2, the mean score of post-tests 2 was 78,4. It could be concluded that there was a significant improvement in the students writing skills after using collaborative learning.

<p class="Default">This research aims to: 1) develop a virtual laboratory media as a supporter of the implementation of high school physics practicum; and 2) know the effectiveness of the use of virtual laboratories in high school physics learning. This research uses research and development (R &amp; D) methods. The procedure for developing virtual laboratory media is carried out through: 1) field studies, literature studies, about the implementation of practicum in physics learning, interviews with teachers, monitoring of school equipment to support the implementation of physics practicum. 2) development: pre-production, production, and post-production, and 3) At this stage what is done is to study the effectiveness of the virtual laboratory media that have been developed on the level of student understanding through performance. The developed virtual laboratory media obtained a score of feasibility by material experts, media experts and students of 4.1 with good categories suitable for use in the learning process. The results of this study indicate: 1) There are significant differences in the pre-test and post-test scores in the experimental class with the sig value. 0,000. 2) There is a significant difference in the value of the post-test in the experimental class and the control class with a significance value of 0.039. Based on the results of the effectiveness test, it can be concluded that the use of laboratory media in high school physics teaching and learning activities significantly increases learning outcomes that can be used to increase the use of direct equipment</p>

School Based Curriculum or ―Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan” (KTSP) 2008 requires teaching and learning activities that should be active, innovative, creative, enjoyable, cheerful and qualified. In order to share or help teachers, this Research and Development (R&D) research was conducted that may inspire them in developing teaching and learning materials for the expected class. The scope of this study is developing written news item text materials for the ten graders of senior high school so that the students are able to create a simple short news item texts which are classified into four kinds: straight, interpretative, investigative and color news stories. The method used was adapted and adjusted from Hyland‘s Model of material development. The process started from doing a survey, followed by developing materials, having experts and teachers validation, doing first revision, trying out, writing second revision, and producing final result. The try out resulted student average score 76,14 that means the students achieved 79,55 % above minimum national learning mastery, 75. This study focuses on the written news item texts from the 3 sources, namely newspapers, magazine and internet. Since the three sources are available in one source, the internet, the final product is entitled ―3 News in 1‖ accompanied by Interactive Self-study VCD‘. Keywords: R&D; News item texts;  teaching & Learning materials.

The role of assessment in the teaching and learning of Mathematics cannot be underestimated. Therefore, efficacious teaching and learning of Mathematics must be driven by effective use of assessment. This study, therefore, sought to investigate the Use of assessment (practices) of Beginning and Experienced SHS Mathematics teachers in two selected districts in the central region of Ghana. In this study, Assessment Practices means what SHS teachers use assessment to do in the teaching and learning of Mathematics under the auspices of a school. A sample of 160 SHS Mathematics teachers was used in this study. These were made up of 92 Beginning and 68 Experienced SHS Mathematics teachers. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The questionnaire was administered to the 92 Beginning and 68 Experienced SHS Mathematics teachers in the two districts in the Central Region of Ghana. The design used in this study was a cross-sectional survey. Data collected from the respondents were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations. An independent sample t-test was used to test whether there exists a significant difference in the assessment practices of the Beginning and Experienced SHS Mathematics teachers. It was found out that the majority (87 out of 92) of the Beginning Senior High School Mathematics teachers do not either frequently or always integrate assessment in the teaching and learning of Mathematics. It was also found out that the majority (60 out of 68) of the Experienced Senior High School Mathematics teachers also do not either frequently or always integrate assessment in the teaching and learning of Mathematics. They rather see classroom assessment as an additional activity that mainly comes at the end of the teaching-learning process. The study also revealed a significant difference in the assessment practices of Beginning SHS Mathematics teachers and that the Experienced SHS Mathematics teachers in the two districts. Based on the findings, it was recommended among other things that In-service training should be organized for both the Experienced SHS Mathematics teachers and the Beginning SHS Mathematics teachers to help them bridge the gap that exists between their practices.

The present study reports several impacts of implementing multimedia toward teaching and learning process in speaking class at second grade students of Galuh University, Ciamis. Further, the study came from insights on students’ boredom during speaking class which affected their achievement and motivation.  Mixed method research design (Creswell, 2013) then employed to answer several proposed hypotheses. For proving the result of its application, observation, questionnaire, pre and post-test were administered to collect the data while both quantitative and qualitative approaches were applied to analyze the collected data from classroom practices. The research findings indicates that  multimedia in speaking class got positive responds from students in term of motivation and accomplishment. The great look portrayed from the class that students were enthusiastic, got involved and interested in multimedia provided by teacher during learning process. Moreover, pre and post-tests that are performace-based tests were greatly used to test the effectiveness of multimedia effects during the class. In this side, the researcher employed experiment of two equivalent groups: control and experimental group. It then reported that t-test related is 2.04  out of 1.70 for  t- distribution which points out that there is significant difference between the results of both tests. It means that the result of this research agreed that multimedia has good effects for teaching speaking in the scope of students’ interests, feedback and their cognitive aspects. In line with above statements, the further studies is also necessary  dealing with other multimedia for obtaining more positive effects toward learning process and those result enables to increase quality of education.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning Arabic in improving learning outcomes by using Al-Thariqah Al-Intiqaiyyah in tenth class of science major at Islamic Senior High School 3 Jombang. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group pre-test post-test design. The population in this study were all tenth classes of science major at Islamic Senior High School 3 Jombang while the sample was tenth class of science major 8 as a control class and tenth class of science major 6 as an experimental class. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially.  From the test data, it can be seen that the average outcomes of the experimental class and the control class has increased. The average pre-test score of the control class was 55.25 and the average post-test score was 79.25 while the average pre-test score of the experimental class was 55.25 and the average post-test score was 87. Based on the results of the SPSS 16.0 analysis, sig values were obtained. (2-tailed) of the experimental class and the control class post-test was 0.00 which means less than 0.05. So it can be concluded that H1 is accepted then there is a significant difference between the experimental class post-test and the control class post-test. H1 acceptance proves that Al-Thariqah Al-Intiqaiyyah was effective in improving Arabic learning outcomes in tenth class of science major at Islamic Senior High School 3 Jombang.

The purpose of the study was to analyze the improvement of student learning outcomes with the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model at Senior High School of Model Terpadu Bojonegoro in Civics subjects. The experimental study used a factorial design using pre-test and post-test. Collecting data using observation, documentation, and test methods. The research sample was carried out in class XI of Bojonegoro Model Terpadu Senior High School, a total of 120 students were in 4 (four) classes, each class consisted of 30 students. The technique used to check the validity in this study is triangulation and review of informants. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model can improve Civics learning outcomes for XI grade students at Senior High School of Model Terpadu Bojonegoro. Increase in student learning outcomes by 7.08% in the second cycle.

ABSTRAK Penelitian yang diberi judul “Efektivitas Strategi Quick On The Draw Dalam Meningkatkan Penguasaan Kosakata Bahasa Jepang” bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaaan strategi Quick On The Draw dalam peningkatan penguasaan kosakata, dan untuk engetahui apakah strategi quick on the draw menarik bagi siwa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen murni, karena melibatkan dua variabel, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebagai pembandingnya dengan rancang desain penelitian pre-test dan post-test dan non-test (angket). Populasi data sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diambil dari dua kelas dari SMA NEGERI 15 Bandung yaitu kelas XI IPA 3 (38 orang) sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 4 (36 orang) sebagai kelas kontrol. Untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh penggunaan strategi Quick On The Draw dalam penggunaan kosa kata bahasa Jepang, dilakukan analisa data sebelum dan sesudah dilakukannya treatment. Dari hasil analisis data diketahui t hitung sebesar  3,13 dan db 72. Karena nilai t tabel untuk db 72 tidak ada, maka db yang paling mendekati adalah db 70 sebesar 2,00 pada taraf signifikan 5%  t tabel dan 2,65 pada taraf signifikan 1% t tabel. Dengan demikian, nilai t hitung lebih besar daripada t tabel. Hal ini menunjukan terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara variabel X dan variabel Y. Berdasarkan analisa diatas, dapat dilihat bahwa strategi quick on the draw efektif mampu meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Jepang dan menjadikan pembelajaran lebih menyenangkan.  ABSTRACT This research “Effectiveness Of Strategy Quick On The Draw To Increase Japanese Vocabulary Ability” has made for knowing about effectiveness of  Strategy Quick On The Draw to increase Japanese vocabulary ability, and to know is this strategy interesting for student. This research use true experiment methode, because this research have two variabel, experiment class and control class as the comparator with pre-test, post-test and non-test (questionnaire). Population of this  research taken from two classes of senior high school 15 Bandung they are XI Social 3 (38 persons) as experiment class and XI Social 4 (36 persons) as control class. Treatment is important thing in order to know the differences before and after apply Strategy Quick On The Draw in Japanese vocabulary learning. From data analyze known that t value is 13,3 and db 72. Because of the value of t table for db 72 is not exist , for that db is 70 = 2,00 in significant percentage 5%  t table and 2,65 in significant percentage 1% t table. Therefore, the value of t value is higher than t table. That mean variabel X and variabel Y have significant difference. Due that analyze Strategy Quick On The Draw is effective to increase Japanese vocabulary learning against students in Senior High School 15 Bandung.
